DEVELOPING: Malachi Nelson Expected to START For Syracuse Football | What's WRONG with Amari Odom?

Syracuse Orange Football faces a full-blown quarterback crisis as third-stringer Malachi Nelson is thrust into the spotlight against Virginia. With Amari Odom sidelined by a shoulder injury and Steve Angeli out as well, the pressure mounts: Can Nelson, once a 5-star recruit but now on his fourth program in four years, finally live up to his high school billing?

Jackson Holzer breaks down the chaos in the Orange quarterback room, Fran Brown’s last-minute decisions, and what fans should realistically expect from Nelson against Virginia’s top-ranked ACC passing defense—especially with rain in the forecast. Secondary topics include recaps of Odom’s strong showing versus UConn, Angeli’s mysterious injury status, and the broader issue of injury transparency in college football. As Syracuse’s season hangs in the balance, can this reshuffled lineup spark an upset on the road?
