What We ACTUALLY Know About The Bruins After 3 Games

Boston Bruins open strong despite Charlie McAvoy’s absence—are early power play woes a cause for concern?

Ian McLaren breaks down the Bruins’ 2-1 start, spotlighting David Pastrnak and JJ Paterka’s dominant top line metrics, Elias Lindholm’s stabilizing presence, and James Higgins’ milestone goal. He examines how the fourth line’s high-danger success and blue line pairings of Nikita Zadorov, Connor Clifton, Hampus Lindholm, and Will Borgen form the team’s foundation.

Key topics include troubling power play droughts (0-for-6), a 57.1% penalty kill rate, and slot coverage lapses plaguing all six defensemen. McLaren previews the matchup against the Ottawa Senators and highlights Linus Ullmark’s looming start. Can Boston’s offensive drivers and stout goaltending cover for critical defensive flaws until McAvoy returns? Don’t miss this deep dive into the Bruins’ early season trends and the challenges ahead.
