Empath. Highly Sensitive Person. Toxic empathy. Avoidant. Narcissist. Energy vampire.
These words have become part of our everyday language, but what do they actually mean—and where do they overlap?
In this episode of The Empowered Empath™, Kerith untangles some of the terms we hear so often in conversations about empathy, relationships, and healing. She explores the differences between empathy, being an empath, and being a Highly Sensitive Person, along with what can happen when empathy exists without healthy boundaries.
Through personal stories from her own healing journey, Kerith also explores codependency, avoidant attachment, narcissistic patterns, energy vampires, and the relationship dynamics that can develop when we lose sight of our own needs while caring for everyone else.
This isn't about putting labels on ourselves or the people in our lives. It's about recognizing patterns, becoming curious about our experiences, and understanding ourselves a little more deeply.
Because being an empath isn't the problem. Being highly sensitive isn't the problem. And your compassion isn't the problem.
The problem comes when compassion no longer includes yourself.
Until next time, protect your peace, honor your light and walk this world empowered.
