In this podcast trailer, host Alyssa Severeid introduces the new podcast "Incense Explorer" and shares her passion for incense. She explains that while incense has a rich history and cultural significance, many people in the US and other Western countries are unfamiliar with it. Alyssa recognizes that the biggest challenge for newcomers to incense is the confusion surrounding the different styles, natural options, ingredients, sustainability concerns, and lack of oversight in the commercial incense industry.
To address these issues, Alyssa has created "Incense Explorer" as a platform to educate and inform listeners about the fascinating and often misunderstood world of incense. Each episode will feature interviews with incense and aromatic experts from around the globe who will share their knowledge and expertise. Season One will consist of eight to ten hour-long weekly episodes.
Alyssa acknowledges the difficulty in finding English-speaking incense experts but encourages listeners to send suggestions her way. She shares her own journey of transitioning from someone who disliked incense to becoming a daily user and even creating her own plant-based incense line while studying herbalism. Burning incense, for Alyssa, is a peaceful practice that brings the magic of nature into the home and provides a moment of mindfulness and enjoyment.
