GRETEL & HANSEL MOVIE REVIEW
Relax. This ain’t Snow White & The Huntsman. Or anything like it. No, this is more like a big (Orion?) studio looking at the recent wider release success of art-horror films like Midsommar and going hmmmm. And thank goodness for that. Sophia Lillis plays Gretel in this very dark version of the classic fairy tale. After she and her younger brother are sent away from their home, they encounter the home of the witch. Alice Krige is all blackened fingers and syrupy words as she invites the two children in from the forest to stay with her and sup on her neverending larder of food. But, something is off. As you probably already know. What’s NOT off is director Oz Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter) helming this grotesquely beautiful and sorta 70’s-ish take on the story. Listen to Chris, Frank, Sarah Jane, and Marco tell the tale.

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS SEASON 4 REVIEW Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise, whose continuing mission is to boldly go where no one has gone before… much to the chagrin of some viewers this season. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns for its fourth sea…
WHALEFALL MOVIE REVIEW Let’s get it out of the way right now: Whalefall is a movie about a guy who gets swallowed by a whale and has to figure out how to escape before his air runs out. Sounds like a Tubi original, right? But no, this is a wide theatrical release with big name […]
YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING MOVIE REVIEW Elizabeth Holmes sits in prison for what seems to be a pretty open and shut case of fraud. Her company, Theranos, claimed it had a device that revolutionized blood testing by being able to take a fingerprick worth of blood and do a giant battery of tests on it. […
SACRIFICE MOVIE REVIEW A year after its premiere at TIFF, and a brief theatrical release in Italy, co-writer/director Romain Gavras’ film Sacrifice has found a home on Netflix.
