For Fox Sake: Hello and welcome to Headlines by For Fox Sake. My name is Pete Selby, and we are looking at the headlines from the weekend. Who said what? In the reaction, and also during the game between MK Dons and Leicester City, and in the days since. We are in a very busy period, especially at Headlines, because we've got the transfer window closing on Tuesday night, Leicester playing on Tuesday night against Plymouth, and then again on Saturday. But let's just go back to the game against Milton Keynes away nil-nil. On a lunchtime on Saturday, with nearly six thousand in the away end, maybe you were there. If so, What were you saying during the game? Let's have a look at the headlines. Who said what during the game and afterwards? Well, when it comes to national coverage, I said last week on headlines, again, headlines, you'll look at what happened at the weekend. You're 15 minutes on a Monday. By the way, because of Bank Holiday, it's slightly later than normal. So this will be on your inbox every Monday morning for about 15 minutes. And I said last week about the fact that there wasn't a lot of national coverage. So we've looked a little bit more local this time. And the MK. side of things. It's quite interesting to see what other people think of Leicester. And the MKFM, Alfie Marlborough, he wrote that MK Dons earned an incr a point of an incredible defensive display. So it shows you what other people slightly take from the game compared to Leicester. MK Citizen, the local newspaper, Toby Locke, who's their sports editor, called it a thrilling goalless draw. Sammy Braybrook was described as very lively, and at the other end, Don's created little of note, with the focus largely on defensive duties. And also very interesting from Yahoo Sports as well, Robert Gardner. He says he commented on the magnificent Fox's support. He has rarely seen a team dominate a game as the Foxes did, and he threw in a stat as well. 643 passes compared to 197. Tells you everything you need to know. But of course we know Leicester fans, don't we? That passes don't necessarily mean three points. but very interesting comments regarding Leicester. He says Leicester desperately need a striker, yes we do, with experience scoring in lower levels of the EFL. And to challenge for promotion, a club needs a forward who can score at least twenty goals, he continues. It is doubtful if such a player will arrive before the close of the transfer window On Tuesday evening and won fears for the club as a result. Also, he mentioned about the supports. Almost six thousand Foxes fans traveled down the M1 on Saturday afternoon, a remarkable number for a struggling team, and they made up a large proportion of the sixteen thousand crowd. Support is not always dependent on success on the pitch, however, football fandom is not entirely divorced. from the results. So very interesting comments there. Nyahoo sports do cover football really well and they've covered plenty of Leicester. Let's go back to some of the comments made after the game. Jason Bourne, head producer there at Talk Sports saying three league games without a win. There were a fair few positives, but it's another poor result. Leicester looked toothless in attack. Not just today, but in all three so far, it has to improve. Blue Tinted says, performances aside, that was the worst result in the club's history. We're not getting out of these this league anytime soon. I'm not too sure whether the worst result in history, I think in league performances, you can argue the Burton result was. Joss Holland said of the Leicester Mercury created more obvious chances to win today than they did in the first two games of the season. but somehow we couldn't get a winner. Frustrating results. WT Fox 1884, he said I say no one saw this start of the season coming, but everyone saw it. The moment Martin was appointed, can't score, won't score. Sean Sweeney, second half was a much better performance, a lot of possession, less mistakes, and created some good chances. But if Reed and Cullen are our main attacking midfielder options, then we do really need to sign one. Much better subs, Brisrich, Alves and Howe should have started. another solid game from Luke Thomas at centre half. Callum Boyle, winless in August, played two promoted sides and a favourite relegation, scored one goal and got one point. It's not good enough. You can play nice football for as long as you like, but this should have been nine points and tails up. So many chances today, all squandered. Charlie Carmichael says another disappointing result, but it improved performance in a fair few aspects. And I agree. Luke Thomas was his man in the match. Best I've seen him play for four years. Page, Braybrook, and McFarlane McFarlane were also impressive. Alves Howe, miles better than Watson and Burns both have to start. It's interesting. Just can't get those that that first team firing, that first eleven selections, it seems that players come off the bench and perform well. Those who start don't, etc. etc. Maybe it will come through in the next few weeks. a tweet to describe the game says Fox's Hub, play like this any other week and we'll be fine. we are really unlucky. It's too soon to call Martin out. So interesting thoughts there. And I'll have plenty more after this. Now before we head back to see what was said after the game, let's take a look at what's happening on forfox.news. Busy week, of course, on forfox8.news. And a big thank you to everybody who has subscribed. Again, five pounds a month, that's all it costs to gain full access to forfox8.news. You can read my article regarding Harry Suter and my thoughts about him from last week. Lots of five things, five things we look for in in the game coming up and also five things we've learnt after the game as well. And of course with all these games coming thick and fast, there's plenty of those. Also we've got the low down on the opposition as well. And we continue with our countdown. with our top one hundred players and lots of information regarding new signings. really interesting last week with Rob's interview with a journalist who broke the news about our news signing from Finland. And again with whatever happens in the transfer market, we'll be bringing you all the latest information again a few days after more of a deep dive more of a a well thought out piece on the website and that's For foxake.news. Five pounds a month. Many thanks to all who have subscribed, and it's ready for you right now. And it also makes a great present as well. I know a few people who have bought it for others as a subscription present. Right, let's take a look at one or two little bits of news. Now, again, by the time you listen to this, it might be slightly different, or they may well have signed. But before we go back to those comments, some interesting news regarding players who may sign. Will we have a George Dobson and Matty James returning to the club? Kelly Davis done as well. They're all expected to leave Wrexham. Hamza Chowdhury completing his move away from Leicester to join Sheffield United on a one-year deal. The 28-year-old has left Leicester. He's been at Leicester well, for pretty much all of his career, apart from that that loan. And it's it's interesting with Hamza. what do you think about Hamza Chowdhury leaving Leicester? What are your thoughts on? Hams's career at the football club. Well he's he's been there for an awful long time. He's been there for twenty one years, the Academy graduate, as the football clubs say. he's brought his twenty one year association with us to an end, joining Sheffield United on a permanent deal. Hamza joined us age seven, later represented the first team, won the FA Cup and championship title at Leicester City in a career spanning more than two decades. And Hamza is always been a like a likable figure. And then just as he got to the point when the form started to turn and you thought Hamza's chance is here it is. Here's your chance, Hamza, to to establish yourself in the first team. Something you couldn't during the the the heyday of, say, the the Rogers era or even before that. And he failed to. And of course there was a a few off the field issues and curfews being broken and obviously with the with the driving, etc., you can read all about that. But yeah, i i it got a little bit ug ugly, a little bit awkward. And again as we drop down, Hamza didn't really step up. So I think it's best for all parties really that he will leave. But then I think once he retires from football and look back on the career, again, Hamza a local boy did well, but yeah unfortunately when we needed him most over the last few years found a little bit wanting would be something I would say. And well I think we'll be talking about Hamza Chowdhury on the website as well. I can I can feel Andy Moore typing away about Hamza Chowdhury going through his Leicester career. interesting about Louis Page, his brother shared on Instagram that he was in the director's box at the Manchester United against Ipswich game. What's what does that mean? I don't know. But we will find out over the next couple of days. But yeah, you can put two and two together and we will see what happens there. Charlie Carmarkola mentioned with his comments about Leicester, commenting on the news that Lazio have made a one million pound offer for Lorenz Hutchinson. Again, a player we haven't really seen in the first team. And he says disgraceful selling one of our brightest Academy talents for less than we paid for Liam Cullum is absolutely criminal. And encapsulates everything wrong with the strategy and recruitment in years. and that was obviously broken by it was broken by Ben Jacobs actually. So it's you know a very reliable source that that's possibly a move that's going to be completed over the next couple of days. Plenty of comments regarding Hamza Chowdry. And then in the wider football sense, Sean Sweeney, Sheffield Wednesday was so much worse than us l last season. This is like Ipswich all over again. And Sheffield Wednesday thrashing Bromley at home scoring seven. get Carter, it's not something I do but the fans booing, because there were a bit of booing at the end of the game, is hardly an issue. And if the players are offended by it, they need to empathize with the supporters a bit more. In twenty twenty six they've seen three league wins in twenty four games. Leicester fans are sick of the results, they are not to blame. Very much a case. Sean Sweeney again says, I'm fully back last season, booing and protesting squad, owners and directors of football. Accountability was long overdue. We want this young rebuild to work, the players to stay. So booing them today is short-sighted. Poor results don't justify underwhelming the project we claim to support. further thoughts regarding the the booing. insert name here, utterly underscore butters says the biggest problem we have right now is our fans. Some just can't see that getting behind the team will help them build confidence and then the results will come. We're five points from top spot. negativity from the stands make it much harder for the players to perform. And more on where we are in the league. With Lennon Visi, who is keeping up to date with our progress as we slip down the football pyramid, and more from Lennon after this. Yeah, our fascination with where we are in the football pyramid is for every single football club. Where are you in the league? Where are you compared to what you normally are? And unless, of course, we're in the third tier for the second time ever. But we're down in 20th place. We're in the relegation zone after a couple of games. Now, do you take notice of the league after a couple of league games or three league games, or do you wait until we have played five or ten or how however you think. There's no getting away from the fact that we are in our lowest position. And as Lennon says, the lowest Leicester City ever sat at any point of their only previous League one season, as we said last time out, was sixth place. So we're now after the draw in twentieth place. That's By definition, the lowest point in Leicester City's history official. So when I said earlier it's probably not the worst result, it means that we are still in the worst position we've ever been. But if I throw this out to you right now as well, something Jason Bourne mentioned, a few others mentioned, we are in the relegation zone for the third different league, or in the third different league in 15 months. So in 15 months we've been in the relegation zone. In the Premier League, the championship, and now League One. So that shows you the dramatic decline in Leicester City over that time. Quite horrific, really, when you think about it in those terms. that's it for headlines this week. There's gonna be plenty of headlines. Next week with two games against Plymouth and against Oxford at King Power. All of the fallout from the transfer window as well, closing on Tuesday night. I think there's going to be an awful lot of comings and goings between now being recorded again first thing on Bank Holiday Monday and what happens by the time. We've finished playing against Plymouth on Tuesday night. One or two moves. Jaden Hesky has gone to Sheffield Wednesday. I feel Sheffield Wednesday have picked up a few players that maybe we should have gone for. We shall see. And interesting to see Jeremy Monger again, he's nothing to do with Leicester now. He's with Manchester City. He's gone to Swansea, and a few fans suggesting that maybe that could have been part of the deal. That he comes back to Leicester, but evidently they want to give him a a season at a higher level. but I'll leave you with one last thought, and that was from Andy Moore, from For Fox Sake, and his comments about the game was against not s against MK Dons. Not the result we wanted, but I'm taking the positives. We look good for large parts of the game, more energy, and you can see what Martin is trying to do. And the youngsters are getting better each game. Still baffled by selections at times and today really shows that we desperately need another striker option, maybe two. Too much negativity and understand why And trying to look beyond the recurring disappointments, it's going to take time. It's not an instant fix, but on today's show, I'm confident in six to eight weeks we'll be right back in it. If I'm wrong, buckle up. Do you agree with Andy? Do you agree with us here on the headlines? Do you agree with those who made those comments? Let us know.
