In this episode, Iris and Jillian consult with Registered Nurse Heather Fritsch, who left the world of Western medicine upon discovering the potency of holistic healing. After her own journey through hormonal imbalances, she now empowers women to advocate for their own mental and physical health needs, and educates about supporting the ever changing flux of our systems through natural remedies. Join us as we delve into the complex world of Hormones, those tricky messengers in the body that affect everything from our sleep, to our weight, sexual drive, pain levels, temperature, and mood.
This episode gets personal as we also reflect on the importance of self-advocacy within modern medicine, especially as a woman, and how to get care when you know something within you doesn’t feel right.
Join us for this revelatory episode as we explore:
- What actually are hormones, anyway? Why are they so important?
- Prominent hormones within our bodies (estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, etc) and the myriad of ways in which they affect us
- Common hormone imbalances in women, and symptoms to look out for throughout the different phases of our lives (ex: irregular or painful periods, stress, insomnia, brain fog, pain, lethargy, and depression)
- Natural ways to regulate our hormones, and in turn, feel more like ourselves again
- The role gut health, exercise, and even meditation can play in regulating our hormones
- How environmental factors can impact our systems
- The importance of advocating for yourself, your body, and your health, and what to do when you feel that you’re not being listened to
As always, Jillian and Iris also share their insight into which crystals and formations support us in our hormonal health and self-advocacy journey.
