00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.600
Hey beauties, welcome back to the Creative Contour by Carla podcast.
00:00:03.759 --> 00:00:09.439
Today I am going to show you how I created this look as I interview for a board member position.
00:00:09.599 --> 00:00:12.080
How exciting! So let's get into the content.
00:00:12.320 --> 00:00:23.199
Hey beauties, I'm Carla, makeup artist, speaker, business owner, and founder of Creative Contour by Carla.
00:00:23.679 --> 00:00:28.079
I believe we should love wearing makeup should we choose to.
00:00:28.320 --> 00:00:34.000
In this podcast, I will break down the harmful rhetoric spewed by the beauty industry.
00:00:34.240 --> 00:00:38.960
Follow along to love yourself, gain confidence, and enjoy a little glam.
00:00:40.000 --> 00:00:40.960
Okay, beauties.
00:00:41.039 --> 00:00:47.920
So I'm starting off with a moisturizing primer this time, and that's because I need a little bit more moisture in my skin.
00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:55.280
It's a little dry here in my office, and my skin is just like really dehydrated on the inside and the outside.
00:00:55.520 --> 00:00:59.439
So I have my water for the inside.
00:01:01.759 --> 00:01:06.480
And I'm gonna use a moisturizing primer for the outside.
00:01:08.799 --> 00:01:11.760
And this we're just gonna let this set in a bit.
00:01:12.079 --> 00:01:14.719
My skin really needs the moisture.
00:01:14.879 --> 00:01:17.359
It's just so dry today.
00:01:17.599 --> 00:01:28.640
So because this is an interview for a board, I want to keep this a little bit more natural because it's not really going anywhere, and I'm not gonna be super glamorous.
00:01:28.799 --> 00:01:33.920
Um, so I'm gonna keep this a little bit more toned down compared to what I normally wear for my makeup.
00:01:34.079 --> 00:01:36.319
Same NARS palette that's very beat up.
00:01:36.400 --> 00:01:41.200
Um, but I'm going to use a color that's a lot more natural to my own skin tone.
00:01:41.359 --> 00:01:50.079
So this is more of a like very natural, like nude tones that I'm gonna use in my eye makeup to keep things very soft and polished.
00:01:50.159 --> 00:01:51.599
It's a pretty soft color.
00:01:52.400 --> 00:01:55.040
It's a soft shimmer, it's a natural tone.
00:02:00.159 --> 00:02:03.200
And I'm applying this all over my eyelid.
00:02:03.920 --> 00:02:08.080
This is called the mobile eyelid, that's the part of your eye that blinks.
00:02:10.719 --> 00:02:12.080
Okay, so this is the result.
00:02:12.159 --> 00:02:13.919
I'm trying to get close enough for you all to see.
00:02:14.000 --> 00:02:14.960
This is the result.
00:02:15.120 --> 00:02:19.199
It's a really soft color, and I'm gonna add a little bit more color in my crease.
00:02:19.599 --> 00:02:31.919
Okay, so if the eye makeup is coming along, you can see this is a much softer eye style than I normally do, but because this is more of like a an interview versus like going out, I was like, you know what?
00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:48.159
Like I want to keep it really soft and really polished because we're mainly just talking, like this is not necessarily an interview that like I'm gonna be interviewing for a job, like this isn't a job interview, so I don't feel like it needs to be super formal makeup if that makes any sense.
00:02:48.240 --> 00:02:51.520
I think a little bit softer is appropriate for this interview.
00:02:51.680 --> 00:02:55.360
Here I am with the final bit of eyeshadow.
00:02:55.439 --> 00:03:01.439
I'm gonna do a little bit of eyeliner and I'm gonna do a little bit of mascara, and then we're gonna move on for the rest of the face.
00:03:08.240 --> 00:03:10.000
To tight line on camera.
00:03:10.080 --> 00:03:11.680
I have no idea how this is gonna look.
00:03:11.840 --> 00:03:14.159
I apologize if it's a little weird looking.
00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:25.039
So, what I do is I get right in here, I always start at the outer corner because my eyes tear quickly, and I kind of close my eyes and do it, and then hope for the best, and that's the truth.
00:03:28.639 --> 00:03:41.840
And then I'm really light on the bottom because I know with my eye shape, everything I put on the bottom literally just falls because I don't have like a big eye socket on the bottom, I have a bigger eye socket on the top.
00:03:42.080 --> 00:03:55.680
Okay, so I haven't tightlined my eyeliner in a long time, um, probably a couple of years now, but I really like just the little bit of glamour it added, and it really just like defined my eye shape.
00:03:55.759 --> 00:03:57.520
So I'm gonna come in close for you all.
00:03:59.120 --> 00:04:04.639
So you can see it's really nice, it's really polished, and it looks really good on my eye shape.
00:04:28.160 --> 00:04:34.160
So I'm gonna finish off my look with a really simple lip gloss this color.
00:04:38.639 --> 00:04:47.040
And the reason I'm picking something super soft is I think that just this just really works well for what I'm doing.
00:04:47.199 --> 00:04:55.360
Um, I don't think we necessarily need to be wearing a lot of makeup for this style of interview.
00:04:55.839 --> 00:04:58.879
And I think this is a really classic polished look.
00:04:59.040 --> 00:05:00.800
So, this is my end result.
00:05:01.120 --> 00:05:02.639
I'm really happy with how it came out.
00:05:02.720 --> 00:05:07.279
I think it complements the look that I'm wearing today, and I think I am gonna keep my hair back for this.
00:05:07.360 --> 00:05:12.319
Normally I take my hair out, but I think it works really well with just the style of what we're doing.
00:05:12.560 --> 00:05:15.519
I hope you all enjoyed this look, and I'll see you soon.
00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.600
