“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” — John 1:1 (KJV)
Before there was a universe, before there was time, before anything was created, THERE WAS THE WORD!
John begins his Gospel by taking us beyond the beginning of creation to reveal the eternal existence and preeminence of Jesus Christ.
In this opening message, “First Thing First,” we consider why the Holy Ghost begins this Gospel by directing our attention to the Word of God and why Jesus Christ and His word must have first place in everything.
If Jesus Christ was before everything, why do we so often give Him what is left over?
The question is simple: What has first place in your life—Jesus Christ and His word, or the things of this world?
Join us as we preach verse by verse through the Gospel of John, examining the Scriptures to exalt Jesus Christ, proclaim the truth of God's word, and establish believers in the faith.
