Loss of biodiversity is one of the biggest threats to our planet. However, many of the ways we try to help the environment actually harm it. How can we make sure that we create ecosystems that our native wildlife actually wants to live in?
In this episode, we talk to Joanne Wasdin, a naturalist from the Bear Creek Nature reserve in Georgia, USA. Having been introduced to the world of wildlife as an adult through conservation education, she has worked both as a scientist and science teacher to bridge the gap between the two.
From art and media, to mosses and mammal research, she hopes to show everyone about how amazing our native wildlife is.
Today we explore what it’s like to work as a naturalist, the threats to our natural environments - and how we can truly help them thrive!
