A millisecond pulsar (MSP) is a pulsar with a rotational period less than about 10 milliseconds. millisecond pulsars have been detected in radio, X-ray, and gamma ray portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. The leading hypothesis for the origin of millisecond pulsars is that they are old, rapidly rotating neutron stars that have been spun up or "recycled" through accretion of matter from a companion star in a close binary system.
Multi-colour optical light curves of the companion star to the millisecond pulsar PSR J2051-0827
Multi-colour optical light curves of the companion star to the millisecond pulsar PSR J2051-0827 by V. S. Dhillon et al. on Sunday 21 August
We present simultaneous, multi-colour optical light curves of the companion
star to the black-widow pulsar PSR J2051-0827, obtained approximately 10 years

Accretion-Induced Collapse of White Dwarfs as an Alternative Symbiotic Channel to Millisecond Pulsars
Accretion-Induced Collapse of White Dwarfs as an Alternative Symbiotic Channel to Millisecond Pulsars by Ali Taani. on Monday 17 October
Recently, extra motivation has been given to the investigations of an
unresolved problem of millisecond pulsars (MSPs) produced by the recycling
process, as an a…
A New Flaring Black Widow Candidate and Demographics of Black Widow Millisecond Pulsars in the Galactic Field
A New Flaring Black Widow Candidate and Demographics of Black Widow Millisecond Pulsars in the Galactic Field by Samuel J. Swihart et al. on Monday 31 October
We present the discovery of a new optical/X-ray source likely associated with
the Fermi $\gamma$-ray source 4FGL J1408.6-2917. Its high-amp…

Decade Long Timing Study of the Black Widow Millisecond Pulsar J1544+4937
Decade Long Timing Study of the Black Widow Millisecond Pulsar J1544+4937 by Sangita Kumari et al. on Sunday 27 November
Results from 11 years of radio timing for eclipsing black widow millisecond
pulsar (MSP) binary, J1544+4937, is presented in this paper. We report a
phase-connected timing model…

Millisecond Pulsars, Magnetars, and Black Holes: The Wickedly Cool Stellar Undead
The 9th Hintze Lecture delivered by Professor Scott Ransom The most massive stars burn the fastest and brightest and die spectacularly, exploding as supernovae and leaving behind some of the most fantastic objects in the Universe: neutron stars and black holes. These are fascinating objects themsel…
