Welcome to the transformational podcast. A conversation between brothers about practical ways faith is impacting our lives. We invite you to join us on this journey as we are learning to let faith transform the way we live. Romans 12:2
Some of the biggest mistakes in life happen when you move before Jesus does. Chris Hurst and Robert Hurst unpack a powerful moment from John 6 that exposes the danger of forcing God to fit our timing, our logic, and our plans.
What starts as a lighthearted Labor Day catch-up quickly turns into a sharp, practical conversation about leadership, waiting, and the storms we create when we leave without Him.
You’ll discover:
- Why the disciples may have thought it was safer to leave without Jesus
- How “waiting on God” is different from freezing in fear
- What it means to walk at God’s pace instead of your own
- Why storms don’t disappear just because you try to outrun them
- How the same principle shows up in leadership, career moves, and everyday choices
Robert also shares about a demanding week, a challenging meeting, and the reminder that even when the first half looks strong, the second half can expose the places where pride, haste, or emotion take over. That honesty gives the conversation real weight and makes the message hit harder: God’s grace is sufficient, but not every storm has to be self-inflicted.
If you’ve ever pushed ahead because waiting felt too slow, too risky, or too uncomfortable, this episode is for you. It’s a short but memorable reminder that the safest place to be is not in control - it’s in step with Jesus.
