What we devote ourselves to shapes who we become. In Acts 2, the early church was more than a group of people who believed the same things—they were a community transformed by the Holy Spirit and deeply committed to following the way of Jesus together. Their devotion produced a church marked by unity, generosity, worship, prayer, and genuine care for one another. Rather than simply asking what the early church did, we're invited to consider what it would look like to live with that same kind of devotion today.
Acts 2:42 gives us four practices at the heart of this life: devotion to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. These aren't simply church programs or activities to add to an already busy schedule—they're practices that form us into the people God desires us to become. A life of devotion takes time, commitment, and sacrifice, calling us to move from consuming to contributing and from simply trying harder to intentionally training in the way of Jesus.

The table has always been more than a place to share a meal. It's where memories are made, relationships are strengthened, and a sense of belonging takes shape. Where do you turn when you need help? Psalm 121 reminds us that while we often look to other people or even within ourselves for the strength, wisdom, and security we need, neither can carry the weight of our deepest dependence.
