A UK legend is in the building.
NCAA Champion and NBA veteran Walter McCarty joins Larry O’Bannon on a brand-new episode of The Player’s Perspective Uncensored.
Walter takes us inside his time at Kentucky playing under Rick Pitino alongside names like Tony Delk, Antoine Walker, Derek Anderson, Anthony Epps and more, sharing stories about what made those Wildcat teams so talented — and so close.
One of the best stories comes from Kentucky’s 1993 NCAA Tournament run. Before facing Tim Duncan and Wake Forest with a trip to the Final Four on the line, the Wildcats were cutting up and having a good time when Anthony Epps got hurt. Walter remembers everybody immediately thinking:
“If Anthony can’t play, Coach P is gonna kill us.” 😂
It’s a story that perfectly captures the chemistry of those Kentucky teams — even with everything on the line, they were still young guys enjoying the moment together.
Walter also takes us through his NBA journey, including his time with the New York Knicks, being surrounded by some of the biggest names in the game, and the memories and lessons he collected throughout his career.
It's an episode that you don't want to miss! Be sure to tune in.
