Deep Dive into Omniscience (Genesis 16:13) by Charles Spurgeon
In his sermon based on Genesis 16:13, Charles Spurgeon elaborates on the profound theological truth that God is omnipresent and omniscient, constantly observing every individual. The speaker emphasizes that angels, devils, and the spirits of the deceased also bear witness to human actions, yet their observations pale in comparison to the absolute and unbroken awareness of the Almighty. Because divine activity permeates all creation, including the most intimate thoughts and private moments of every person, humanity can never truly escape divine notice. This overarching reality serves as comforting reassurance for the prayerful, anxious, and slandered, who can take solace in the fact that their hidden struggles are fully recognized. Conversely, for the ungodly, this continuous divine witness acts as a solemn reminder of the inevitability of judgment and the absolute accountability of their secret sins. Ultimately, the discourse calls believers and sinners alike to recognize their complete exposure before a holy Creator and encourages them to seek redemption through faith in Jesus Christ.
