SURGE: Buffalo Bills vs Browns—Kyle Allen, Ian Wheeler and Trent Sherfield Among Preseason Standouts

Buffalo Bills crush the Cleveland Browns 31-7 in preseason action, silencing concerns about their depth and backup talent. Can Kyle Allen and Shane Buechele keep up the momentum behind Josh Allen? Standout performances from Trent Sherfield and undrafted rookie Jamori Maclin shake up the wide receiver race, while Ian Wheeler’s physical running raises questions about the final running back spots. Key decision points emerge: who claims the crucial backup roles, and does Ray Davis lock in as primary punt returner to free up roster space?

Joe Marino breaks down the offensive line battles featuring Tylan Grable’s return and Jude Bowry’s ongoing struggles. On defense, Jordan Hancock’s high-impact play and Landon Jackson’s disruptive presence headline a unit missing Ed Oliver, who faces personal tragedy. Special teams get tested with Tyler Bass’s 52-yard field goal and Tommy Doman’s inconsistency at punter. Which players helped—or hurt—their chances of making the Bills’ final roster before the opener in Houston?
