Self-Critical Overachievers With Tracy Forsyth

In today's episode, Herman is joined by producer, director, mentor and founder of ‘Fast Track to Fearless' Tracy Forsyth. Together they discuss Tracy's journey from actor to leader, what it means to be a self-critical overachiever and how to be fearless.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

• The self-critical overachiever loves big challenges, being scared and achieving their goals so they can move forward and never look back but as they're overly self-critical they don't value the success of their achievement and will subsequently look at other people and compare themselves negatively to them.

• Self-doubt and self-criticism wastes a lot of energy and often you'll find yourself worrying about what you don't have rather than celebrating and enjoying what it is you do have.

• Being fearless is having the understanding of yourself and the confidence to know that wherever you are, you know who you are, even when you're not surrounded by your tribe or in an environment where people don't get you.

• Do not limit yourself,  so many times people limit themselves and create an obstacle for themselves in terms of their mindset. So being fearless is about being honest about who you are, what environment you like, what lights you up, what drains you, and what you truly want.

BEST MOMENTS

“I've been able to use the experience and expertise I've gained in my television career along with coaching skills to empower, enlighten and enhance other people's journeys through life.”

“I exist to help self-critical overachievers ditch the self-doubt and the criticism that they have of themselves.”

“If I can change the lives of a number of people who then go on and change other people's lives, then I will die a happy woman.”

“I would dismiss the 99% positive and focus like a laser on the 1% that wasn't right.”
