Beyond the Training Ground: Vice Admiral Sean Buck on Modeling and Simulation

In this episode of Emerging Tech Horizons, Dr. Arun Seraphin speaks with retired Vice Admiral Sean Buck, President of the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA), about the evolving role of modeling and simulation in defense technology and the 60th anniversary of the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (IITSEC).They discuss how emerging technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) and immersive technologies, is transforming military training, enhancing workforce development, and advancing defense readiness. Admiral Buck also shares what attendees can expect from this year's IITSEC conference and explores why collaboration among government, industry, and academia is critical to advancing defense technology, addressing military requirements, and driving innovation across the defense enterprise.Topics include:- The evolution of IITSEC and 60 years of advancing modeling and simulation across the defense industry- How emerging technology, AI, and immersive technologies are transforming military training and operational readiness- Using modeling and simulation to develop skilled workers across the defense industrial base- Why collaboration among government, industry, and academia is essential to defense technology innovation- How IITSEC connects emerging technology companies with military requirements, industry partners, and defense opportunities- Engaging the next generation of talent in modeling and simulation, emerging technology, and defense technologyTo Attend I/ITSEC visit iitsec.orgBe sure to follow us on social media for updates, inside scoops, & more:LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/4htROo0Twitter: https://bit.ly/48LHAx3Facebook: https://bit.ly/47vlht8 And for more articles & publications on all things emerging tech, check out our website at: https://bit.ly/47oA5K1#IITSEC #ModelingAndSimulation #MilitaryTraining #WorkforceDevelopment
