📝 Episode Summary
• ✅ The discussion explores how a tongue-tie can be a complex medical condition affecting breathing, sleep, speech and feeding, rather than just a dental issue.
• 🦷 Experts identify critical red flags, including bedwetting, snoring, slow eating, and mouth breathing as primary functional indicators.
• 👅Evaluating for compensations is a necessary component to differentiate whether a frenum is restricted or not in children and adults.
• 🧠 Modern protocols emphasize using CBCT for adult risk assessment and sucrose water for infant pain management during procedures.
• ✨ Long-term success requires a "team approach," integrating myofunctional therapy pre- and post-release to establish correct oral rest posture rather than treating the release as a standalone solution .
