This Pink Cloud S7E5

In this compelling episode of This Pink Cloud, host DJ Kelly Reverb welcomes nightlife icon Don Nedler, the visionary behind the beloved Lizard Lounge, It’ll Do, and The Church in Dallas.

Don began his impressive journey at the nightclub "After the Gold Rush," where he started as a door guy and eventually became a DJ. His path took him from the outskirts of Denver to Austin, where he faced challenges that could have easily derailed him, including moments of near-homelessness. Living in a garage and commuting by bike, Don persevered and transformed the Lizard Lounge from a simple after-hours venue into a world-renowned nightclub that became a staple of the Dallas nightlife scene.

In this candid conversation, Don shares his personal struggles with mental health and substance use, including his experiences with freebasing cocaine. He discusses the challenges of running a nightclub, the toll it can take, and his ultimate triumphs in building a lasting legacy.

We'll also delve into the impact of COVID on the nightlife industry and the strategic move from the iconic 2424 Swiss location to the current It’ll Do nightclub. With over 30 years of experience, Don reveals the key lessons he’s learned about resilience and adaptability in an ever-changing environment.
