Computer Chess (with actor Patrick Riester)

In a world where nerds aren't cool... where computers play chess and their technicians debug them... can this ragtag group of superstar programmers defeat the secret Russian plot to overthrow the world while simultaneously avoid triggering the AI Singularity? Can an algorithm predict which hotel room you'll sleep in days in the future? What happens if swingers want to fuck? Will a rogue neighboring Human Potential Movement group upset the natural order and crown a computer the grandmaster of all chess? We'll find out on this special episode of the Spin-Off Doctors Spin-Off Podcast. With a bit of help from one of the stars of the movie (Patrick Riester) we turn back the clock all the way to a fake 1980 to look at Andrew Bujalski's 2013 mumblecore mockumentary "Computer Chess.""Computer Chess" can be viewed on Plex for free or purchased directly from the creator at https://www.computerchessmovie.com/0:00:00 - There Has Been a Coup0:00:57 - History with Chess and Chess on Computers0:13:52 - Synopsis of "Computer Chess"1:11:51 - Analysis of "Computer Chess"1:16:12 - Interview with Patrick Riester
