The Reclamation Room | Season 2, Episode 1
Why do you keep repeating the same patterns when you already KNOW you’re doing them?
Maybe you’re three paragraphs into explaining a boundary that only needed one sentence. You’re replaying a conversation for the seventeenth time. You know you need help, but doing everything yourself somehow still feels easier. Or you recognize that a relationship isn’t good for you while simultaneously talking yourself into staying.
You’ve learned the terminology. You know your attachment style, your trauma responses, your red flags, and probably exactly where some of your patterns came from. So why hasn’t knowing all of that automatically changed them?
In the first episode of Season 2, we’re talking about the gap between knowing about your patterns and actually knowing yourself inside of them.
You’ll learn three practical places to start:
* Catching the pattern earlier instead of expecting yourself to stop it immediately
* Understanding what the response is trying to accomplish for you
* Creating one slightly different experience that gives you new evidence about what you can handle
We’ll look at patterns like overthinking, overexplaining, hyper-independence, shutting down, ignoring your needs, staying too long, and second-guessing yourself.
And instead of asking, “Why the f**k am I still like this?” we’re starting with a much more useful question:
What has this pattern been doing for me?
