INFORMAZIONI SU QUESTO EPISODIO
Welcome to another episode of The First Responder Playbook! Today, host Brent sits down with Dan Fraser, an accomplished police officer, instructor, and author, whose passion for empowering others has driven his impressive career. Dan takes us on a journey from his early days as a military reservist in Canada to his two-decade career with the Calgary Police Service, where he quickly traded SWAT aspirations for a calling in training and instructor development.
Dan shares eye-opening insights about the importance of effective training, the real goals behind teaching, and the challenges of ensuring retention and operational transfer of critical skills. You'll learn how Dan’s curiosity and commitment to helping others led him to start his own consulting business, write "Kickass Presentations," and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in law enforcement training. The conversation also dives into Dan’s ongoing work with Raptor Protection and the cutting-edge “Methods of Instruction” course, which is changing the way agencies approach use-of-force instruction.
Whether you're a new trainer or a seasoned officer, you'll find actionable advice, memorable stories, and inspiration to level up your own teaching and leadership in the first responder world. Tune in for expert insights into what really makes a great instructor, the power of networking and ongoing learning, and how to make a lasting, positive impact on your agency and community.
