INFORMAZIONI SU QUESTO EPISODIO
A fire is moving and the model on the screen says one thing. Jeff Shelton has spent 35 years on the front line, and his rule is simple: don't surrender your judgment to the box.
Hello Smart Firefighting Community!
Welcome to another episode of covering real world innovations via interviews with fire service and technology industry experts that empower YOU to develop your very own Smart Firefighting strategy.
Jeff is a qualified Long Term Fire Behavior Analyst on a Type 1 Federal Interagency Incident Management Team, a Fire Captain-Analyst with the Orange County Fire Authority, and an instructor of S-495 and S-590 at the National Advanced Fire and Resource Institute.
He breaks fire behavior down to two numbers, speed and intensity, and explains why a model is the start of a conversation, not the end of one. He shares what he heard at the Western Fire Chiefs Phase 3 technology summit, why speed to competency worries him, and what the next five years could look like on the fire line.
