INFORMAZIONI SU QUESTO EPISODIO
If Google and AI don't clearly understand who your business is, what you do, and where you operate, you're leaving your digital identity up to chance.
In this episode of The Search Hustle Podcast, William Nozak moves the Semantic SEO Masterclass from theory into technical execution by breaking down how businesses can use schema markup and structured data to define their digital footprint.
William explains that humans can look at a website and quickly understand what a company does. Search engines and AI systems have to interpret that information through data, relationships, and context. When your business relies entirely on website copy to communicate its identity, you're asking machines to make assumptions about your services, locations, and expertise.
That's where schema markup comes in.
William describes schema as a translator between your website and search engines. Instead of hoping Google correctly interprets a phone number, service, location, or social profile, structured data explicitly identifies what that information represents and how it connects to your business entity.
The episode breaks the strategy into three important questions:
Who are you? Organization schema can define your business name, logo, founding information, and connect your official social profiles and other digital properties through sameAs.
What do you do? Service schema can clearly define the specific services your company provides and connect those services back to your organization.
Who do you serve? Local Business schema can help establish your physical location and geographic service area.
William also explains why this becomes much more complicated for franchises and multi-location businesses.
A company with 10, 50, or 500 locations can't simply copy the same corporate schema across every location page. Search engines need to understand the relationship between the national parent brand and each individual local entity.
That means every location needs a distinct digital footprint with its own address, phone number, operating hours, and local information while still clearly connecting back to the parent organization.
For this episode's homework, William recommends running a schema audit, documenting all of your active digital profiles so they can be connected to your organization entity, and auditing location pages to make sure each location has unique Local Business schema that connects back to the main brand.
The internet is becoming an answer engine.
Stop leaving your brand identity up to chance. Define your footprint, structure your data, and make it easier for AI to understand exactly who you are.
