Packers Total Access: 🏈 VICTORY MONDAY! Packers vs. Cowboys Recap — Jordan Love NFL MVP? Gannon’s ELITE Defense!
HAPPY VICTORY MONDAY — and the most complete and championship-affirming stretch of football the 2026 Green Bay Packers have played is now three games long, counting from the Bears blowout through last night’s methodical 23-13 dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football! The Packers are 4-2 — their first three-game winning streak since Weeks 12-14 of the 2025 season — and the two individual storylines dominating every national conversation this morning are the ones that Packers Total Access has been tracking since September. Is Jordan Love the MVP? And is Jonathan Gannon building something that goes far beyond what anyone outside of Lambeau Field has given him credit for? The answer to both questions is yes — and here’s why. Love overcame three Matthew Golden drops that would have been touchdowns, converted third downs at a career-high rate against the worst third-down defense in the NFL, scored on a 1-yard keeper to make it 17-0 at halftime, and finished 23-of-41 for 276 yards in a game Yahoo Sports called “MVP-level Love.” Gannon’s defense held Dak Prescott — 67.2% completion rate, 1,381 yards, 9 TDs entering the game — to 34-of-54, 258 yards, 2 INTs, and a 65.2 passer rating. The Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said “we’re in a hole” after the game. The Cowboys are 2-4. Jordan Love said “we’re in a winning streak.” The Packers are 4-2. And Josh Jacobs is practicing TODAY.
In this complete Victory Monday Cowboys recap, Jordan Love MVP case, and Gannon’s elite defense breakdown, we dive into:
- Jordan Love NFL MVP? — The Full Case: Love made throw after throw to bolster his MVP case last night — and the individual story buried in the raw 23-of-41 stat line is the most revealing individual performance of his career when you understand what he was working against. Three Matthew Golden drops that would have been touchdowns — including a 43-yarder that would have put the game away in the second quarter. A potential 26-yard touchdown to Watson was deflected in the end zone. The Lambeau Field fireworks started prematurely twice. And Love kept converting. His third-down efficiency against the worst third-down defense in the NFL — Dallas surrendered 52.6% of third-down conversions — was the individual engine that drove the opening 90-yard, 14-play touchdown drive and the game-defining 17-0 first-half dominance. Zone Coverage’s Mitch Widmeier put it precisely: “Love’s ability to create and convert on crucial third-down plays carried the Packers to victory.” The MVP odds have Love anywhere from +3300 to +4500 depending on the book — long shot territory — but the three-game stretch of individual performance he has just delivered, including the Bears franchise record and now the Cowboys SNF masterclass, represents the best three-week run of his career.
- Gannon’s ELITE Defense — Three Straight Opponents Under 14 Points: The most undervalued individual coaching performance in the NFC this season is Jonathan Gannon’s defensive system — which has now held three consecutive opponents to 13 points or fewer while missing Micah Parsons, Edgerrin Cooper, Javon Hargrave, and Jonathan Ford. Last night: Prescott 34-of-54, 258 yards, 2 INTs, 65.2 rating. The two Prescott interceptions were individual plays that Gannon’s disguised coverage packages specifically engineered — Evan Williams’ second interception in two games, and Brandon Cisse’s first career interception off a CeeDee Lamb slip that Gannon’s coverage positioning created. The Cowboys offense that entered dead last in the NFL in EPA per play was held scoreless for the entire first half — the first time Dallas had been shut out in a first half since November 7th, 2021. With four healthy defensive tackles and a linebacker corps still replacing Cooper and missing Parsons, Gannon’s defense is one of the most impressive individual coaching achievements in the NFC North this season.
- The Drops Problem — The One Legitimate Concern: Golden dropped three passes that would have been touchdowns — a 43-yarder, a 23-yarder, and a potential 26-yard score that was also deflected. The Packers finished with 57 rushing yards — still last or near-last in the NFL in the ground game. The game featured 22 total penalties — 11 by each team — with Green Bay drawing 96 yards of flags in what was described across every outlet as a “penalty-filled game.” The individual offensive ceiling of this team when everything connects — when Golden catches all three of those touchdowns — is a 35+ point night against a bad Dallas defense. The individual floor when the drops happen is a 23-point win that feels uncomfortably close despite the final margin. Both are true simultaneously.
- The 4-2 Standings Picture — Where The Championship Window Lives: The Packers are 4-2 heading into Week 7 at Detroit — the most important road game of the season — with Josh Jacobs practicing today for the first time since August. Micah Parsons is doing strenuous running with a brace on the practice field. The NFC North standings: Packers 4-2, Bears 3-3 (after last night), Vikings 4-1 (still the division leader), Lions 4-1. Green Bay needs to beat Detroit on the road to stay within a game of the division leader with the hardest stretch of their schedule still ahead. “We’re in a hole,” Brian Schottenheimer said. The Cowboys are 2-4 and their season is in serious jeopardy. The Packers are 4-2 and their championship window is real.
- The Full Victory Monday Picture — What Matters Most Heading Into Week 7: Josh Jacobs returns to the practice field today. Micah Parsons is getting closer every week. Kevin Zeitler is starting at right guard and the offensive line has now started the same five players in three consecutive games for the first time all season. Gannon’s defense has held three straight opponents to 13 points or fewer. Jordan Love is winning games against the best opponents the Packers have faced all season. And the three-game winning streak that began with the 31-7 Bears blowout and continued through the Tampa survival win is the most complete individual organizational statement the 2026 Green Bay Packers have delivered. Week 7 at Detroit. Josh Jacobs potentially playing. The championship run is here. Go Pack Go!
