Benedicte Kalala: The church has become notorious for distancing themselves from some of the harm that they're decision making, whether that be with their voting, how they run things within their church or their communal gatherings, distancing themselves from the consequences and the results of those decisions under the guise of like, I'm just focusing on God and I'm gonna worry about me and what the Lord has to say. Let's plug it in podcast. I'm your host, Benny. And this is yet another installment of our podcast. Let's plug it in, okay? I see the consistency. Now, I am a little late with dropping this here episode, but we're gonna let it do what it do because again, it's a lot of things happening on the horizon, but I will not be before y'all long. I just wanted to hop on here, do a little one, two, one, three, and let it do what it do. But before we even get started, y'all know I gotta say it, please. Go down there to Spotify, give me a Faster and a Rate. Faster and a rating. A Faster rating and a follow. Do the same thing down there to Apple, okay? A Apple they're gonna keep a doctor away, but follow and ⁓ a star down there in my in ⁓ in my my podcast on Apple gonna increase my views and we gon' Got no more new ways to ask you to go ahead and subscribe and follow and rate. So please just go ahead and follow, subscribe, and rate, and let it do what it do. Okay, all right. How y'all doing? Okay. My day yesterday was a lot. It was raining a lot. Where am I? Comment down below. Like, what kinds of weathers are y'all getting? And I'm like, at this point, it's supposed to be giving sweater weather. Like it's supposed to be giving, you know, lattes and them, it's supposed to be giving pumpkin, it's supposed to be giving sweet potato stuff and all of the things. And it's like we can't do nothing because it's just like raining, just raining, raining, and the rain keeps ruining every doggone thing. Like we had ⁓ a plan to have a a dance class and there was like you know, rain and there was ⁓ you know the the forecast as far as like you know flooding over here in Connecticut, and I was just kinda like, dang, their girl is can't even do law. You know, a little dance home moment like the girl is gonna even do nothing because it's like the dog gonna rain. And so it rained Saturday, it's gonna rain Sunday, and then it rained Monday, and even today or Tuesday, it's still not giving like we in the clear Loki for real, for real. And I'm just kinda like, enough. Okay. What in the Noah? What in the Noah mess is going on? The Lord is trying to flood the earth again. The first time it ain't worked out. Okay, I'm not gonna lie to you. It ain't worked out. The people of them still don't know how to act. So we not gonna flood nothing again. So stop with the rain. Rain. For those who have seeds in the ground. I ain't got no seeds in the ground. So send this dog on ring somewhere else, okay? Get your Noah on and send the ring somewhere else. Please. A lot of the Quran. ⁓ Aload the Koram. It's not gonna hurt y'all. But the weekend was a lot in that way. And I'm just, you know, doing a couple work. And you know, if you haven't seen on my Instagram. I am going to be doing my first ever meet and greet in Boston. I was down there in Boston. The people in them was like, ⁓ you should do a meet and greet. And again, this is the year where I'm trying to like, you know, come up out of come up out of the house a little bit. So we're gonna do a meet and greet. And I'm also going, like I told you, I'm also gonna, you know, practice some materials just to let it do what it do because I really wanna be, I wanna be about my business. Like I don't wanna move in, you know. I don't be like, Like I wanna stand 10 toes down, okay? I'm a ginger now. Ging just be having the energy, gingers be having the vibe. So I gotta walk in the fullness of the ginger, which by the way, y'all, I'm not gonna lie to you, it's growing a little too long. And I'm like, dang, this is usually the awkward space where I be wanting to put it in a braid, okay? Cause this right here, minus the color, this is the Nutty Professor. I'm not gonna lie to you. Okay, nutty professor. Ginger Not a professor. And it's like it's cute. It's a cute look. Okay. It's a cute look, but it's like I miss doing a lot. You know, I said like I miss I miss this right here. But I am really trying to see the afro. I'm not gonna lie to you. I really wanna see. The afro, especially now that it's colder. I really just want my hair to stay out. And I want to see how like my afro is gonna grow because my goal is to wear my afro more and more and use other styles as like a secondary style and not the main, you know, the main thing. The main thing is my hair. The main thing has to be my hair. As a black woman, the main thing has to be your hair. I saw a creator online that was talking about how like On a tangent again, like always, but it's my channel, it's my podcast. Subscribe. But the the creator was talking about how, like, as a black woman, sometimes, especially in the beauty space, a lot of creators, their view of being successful, their look of being successful is somewhat attached to, you know, the long, you know, silk press, bust down type kind of wigs. And I was just of like then, like, that's not true. But then I had to sit with myself, with some of even my favorite creators, my favorite, you know, actors, my favorite all of the things. A lot of them don't be wearing their natural hair for real, for real. Right? Like it's a handful, it's a handful of, you know, creators, it's a handful of actors, actresses that actually sit out here, okay, rocking their afro, right? So people like Tabito Brown. They would always, you know, have a special, you know, a special place with me, at least within the media and like seeing our hairs, seeing the way we portray ourselves. Like people like, you know, Paige, the art of how to love your Afro, people that's just gonna sit in the fullness of you know their blackness. And I'm not saying that all the other creators are not, because again, black hair and black styles, black hairstyles are very much like versatile. But like whenever you see, The the the girls that made it, like the it girls, the girls that have quiet luxury, the girls that have like, you know, that little aesthetics to them, a lot of them don't be it don't be in the afro. Comment down below and let me know if maybe that's just like my observation. It don't be in an afro. They always have to be like, you know, part of the investment, which is what the creator was talking about. Part of the investment in your look is a good week. And I'm having to do away with that because the investment in myself, why can it be of me having healthier, you know, hair? Like my actual healthier hair and investing in, you know, maybe taking care of him more, investing in maybe going to the salon and having people, professionals, take care why can it be of me having healthier, you know, hair? Like my actual healthier hair and investing in, you know, maybe taking care of him more, investing in maybe going to the salon. And having people, professionals, take care of like your actual hair or doing styles with your actual hair. And it's like, why can't that be the investment? Why is the investment always a great wig, a great bust down? Which again, the girl is be rocking it. And I'm like, yes, girl, get in there, let it do what it do. But like when we really think about it like on a broader picture, to some degree I feel like we also have to reframe our minds. From thinking that investment has to do with putting hair that grows from other people's scalp into our own, if that makes sense. So for me, I'm like, yeah, I I I miss the braid, I miss the low, the little one, two, one, three. But I also want to challenge myself. Like, let me rock my hair, like in all like let me actually enjoy the journey of seeing my hair grow. And the little one, two, one, three, like, I wanna see that. Comment down below and let me know. But like that's that's kind of like where I'm at. And why was I on on threads and I was scrolling like I typically do and I done came upon this here video and y'all I wanted to talk about it because I'm just kinda like dang people we are working with you know different budgets and we got to we gots to be honest about it a little bit but the principle I still get and I wanna hear your thoughts on it. So let's see. If you are having a birthday dinner, you need to pay for everybody at the birthday dinner. My parents have always been the type where they were like, you cannot have a birthday dinner unless me or your dad come and pay for everybody. So I've actually never had a birthday dinner where I didn't spot the whole table. I come from a very strict line of women who host. Yeah. And so they do have strict rules around who pays, what should happen. Do you ask for a gift? I think that maybe a lot of like event planners and things would agree with me. But I think the general public probably would not agree. Like I know girls are gonna be like, What? Like I already know. That one's gonna get the girls going. Yeah, it is. Birthday dinners really do. Birthday dinners, my 30th birthday. I just paid on the bar. I was like, whatever people want, pay on the bar. I believe in that. Like, but I know the girls will be like, no. So you know, everybody can't do that. And that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be celebrated. You still deserve to be celebrated. Yeah. Blake just ain't gonna celebrate. Unless she could throw that card down. Yeah. Comment down below and let me know. Cause it's like the the girlies were down there in a little bit of I don't wanna say people were divided, but like to some degree I felt as though people were divided in that. And I agree with both sentiments. It's like one time I had a birthday and everybody and their mama started calculating, well, I only had me a salad. Okay. Next to my salad's gonna be a water. I never had no juice. I had no drink. I had no nothing. And you was out here, you know, ordering like, you know, ⁓ lobsters, lame chops. Although one, two, one, three, all the drinks, bottles, and the things. And it's that I ain't even had nothing. And I don't want to be out here, you know, ⁓ splitting the bills and all of the things, and everybody becomes a mathematician. Or something like I only had this. That has a look to me, it be so awkward. I don't care what nobody says. It be always so awkward with me. So the last big birthday dinner that I had, like at a restaurant. It was first of all, it wasn't my planning. It was my people that plan, like I said, like my families were always like, you know, playing all these different things. And of course, they invited everybody. And that was not going to be a bill that one person was going to take on. Because I believe at that time I was either 23 or 22, one of the two. And so obviously we ain't got the money. Like one person ain't got the money. Like as a collective, we're going to do the one, two, one, three and let it do what it do. But I remember everybody and their mama just like, ⁓ I only had this, I only had a water. And I just said it just like embarrassed. So I'm like, dang, like I'm never doing this again. If we're gonna do a dinner, I agree with her. Like, if I cannot fool the entire bill, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna make it be a thing where like now we have to like mm-mm. I'm gonna celebrate in other ways. Maybe you guys can come to my house. We're gonna do a little one, two, one, three. I'm gonna celebrate in that way. But like to have people come. And then we have to argue over the bill. I don't like that. In my family, like as far as like me and just my sisters, that's not the case. We're gonna go out, especially when it's somebody's birthday, the celebrant, you don't even have to pay. That's not even a thing that we do. And so we will put it on like one card. And once we get like home, everybody can be like, okay, this is how much I'm gonna put in, blase, blase. And it's just kind of like handled family style. So while I 1000% understand the sentiment on something like that, like I ain't trying to do all that. A part of me still just kind of like, and she didn't say this, so I don't want to put words into her mouth. But a part of me still like, but the community efforts though should still be a thing, right? To me, that view of like, if I can't do it by myself, therefore I'm not gonna do it, still just kind of like has that individualistic mindset to it that I feel like is low key pulling us, you know, even further and further away from like. True and legitimate community. Don't get me wrong. Everybody and their mama online talking about community. But like true community really means you sometimes inconveniencing yourself. True community really means sometimes you're gonna be down there at a dinner table and maybe having to pay a little extra 20 for somebody else. And maybe had a little one, two, one, three. Like that to me is not a strange concept because again. Assuming that everybody around you are people that you love and the people that you care for, and those people love and care for you right back in return. You paying for my birthday dinner, you paying like at my birthday dinner, and also contributing for my birthday, which is another thing like we do in our family. Like I said, all the people will pay except for the celebrants, right? You participating in that, to me, is just part of being in a community. Comment down below and let me know. I saw another post I wish I saved it where somebody was like If you're hosting anything and you ask me to bring something, you attack Am I the only person that I get irritated when people decide to have an event and then start assigning people to bring things? Like I feel like if it's voluntary, okay. But when you are like, Yeah, I'm gonna get Tasha to bring the rotail and then if you could pick up some sodas and Joanne get the alcohol, it's like You can't afford to host the event, so don't have it. But you literally came up with this in your mind and then I don't know, I guess now need sponsorship for it. I just if you can't afford to have it, don't have it. The way I do not agree with that at all, I feel like again, part of being in a community is somewhat doing things together. Capitalism has this feeling as though we cannot do certain things unless we can do The thing at a 100% by ourselves. Whereas the reality is, a lot of our parents, a lot of us actually, grew up on some like, you know, hey, you know, I got me a little, you I'm gonna bring hot dog to the to the barbecue, you're gonna have a little chicken, I'm gonna bring the burgers, he's gonna bring us, who got the the tomatoes and the ketchup and the condiments, who gonna bring the plates. Everybody contributes and we make the thing happen. Maybe one person might be hosting at their house or maybe we're doing something at a park. But like that collective effort, that collective you do, I do, and we come together, that to me is part of the community. Something as like, you know, we're going to the airport. Go ask my family member. Like, I don't see the need to be like, ⁓ I got to go ahead and Uber for myself because I have to be self-sufficient and do the one, two, one, three. Capitalism again is making us, you know, move far away from each other. And it's like we're losing that, you know, that economy amongst friends, that economy amongst, you know, siblings, that economy amongst neighbors, right? You help me the same way I'm going to help you. So long as it's not something that's like one-sided, I see nothing wrong with the collective efforts to make something beautiful and something meaningful. I am somebody that, like, yes, if I'm hosting, you know, depending on like maybe the sizing of things, like if I'm just inviting like maybe like, you know, two people, this that and the third, I'll just be like, yeah, you guys come over. The meal probably not gonna take too long, this that and the third. But say we're hosting, like, you know, Thanksgiving, which we've done at my house. Everybody's bringing something. Like my mom, like, okay, you're gonna cook this, you're gonna cook this, she's gonna cook this. As the host, you're still gonna carry a little bit more, you know, weight, a little bit more burden to you. Because again, you're having to set up the table, you're having to clean before the guests come, you're having to clean after they leave. Like everybody's going to dollar one, two, one, three. The kickback that we hosted ⁓ recently, my sister hosted a kickback, you know, at our house and whatnot. You know, send the invite, like, you know. And even my friends, they know to expect, like, okay, what can I bring? ⁓ you know, bring a glass of wine, glass of wine, bring a bottle of wine. You know, we have a sister that she don't be cooking nothing. Okay. One thing about her, she's gonna bring the plates. She's gonna bring the plates. And comment down below: are you that kind of person that like you don't really be cooking, but like you be bringing the vibe a little bit? That's the sister. She's gonna bring the plate, she's gonna bring the utensils, she's gonna bring the alcohol. Every time we forget the eye, she gonna bring the ice, like, but she not gonna be nobody's kitchen, trying to do a little macaroni and cheese. She's not gonna do that. But like even her, she'll bring something, right? You bring a drink. The the the cooks of the family, you go make this, you go make that. Like everybody contributes. That way it doesn't fall on one person to carry the weight and to carry the burden. Of you know the gathering, we are losing, we are losing the art of gathering. I literally made an Instagram post about it, but we're losing the art of gathering because again, part of it is this reason that if I cannot foot the entirety of the the moment, that somehow I am not a good host. And I low key reject that idea. Comment down below, let me know. I low key reject that idea. Like you could you could do the one, two, one, three. You you could do a one, two, one, three. And even at the kickback, as soon as you know it started getting dark, right? People were like, ⁓ you know, they're about to head out clean. I don't play that. Help bring the chairs inside. Help bring the tables inside. And so something that would have taken three people an hour to do, all of us was like, well, almost, you know, maybe 15 of us or so give or take. All of us combined, it took us 10. Then lost nothing. We had so much fun. We played so much games. We had memories. And I feel like this need and this pressure to be able to be like, if I can't do 100% of the thing, therefore I should not, you know, participate in, I guess, maybe the community and the gathering of it all. That is what I think is keeping us more and more alone. And a lot of us are a lot more lonely because again, we feel as though coming together has to be something that 100% Rests on us, right? But like I said, I do agree to some degree, especially if it's your birthday and maybe you're not used to going out like that, like that, and you choose the most expensive restaurants that maybe your friends and your family may not be able to afford. Again, during this year, tariff times, okay, during this year, tariff times. So an egg gonna be $11 and they're not even trying to give you a full egg, like. Sardo bread is $575. And the low sourdough bread is gonna have seven slices inside the bag. Where is the eight? Where's the rest of the slice of the bread that I'm paying for? You know what I'm saying? It's like in this kind of economy, you may not also know where like maybe your friends are. Maybe they may not be able to afford, you know, to. To go to some of these, like, you know, luxury, maybe, you know, outing activities or even maybe like a vacation, things like that. They may not be able to, for sure. So in that case, if you got it to, you know, to flex a little bit, by all means go for it. But under that same bread, there is nothing wrong with being like, dang, like, it's my birthday. We're all going out. I really want to go to this place. You guys are my people. Everybody pay for their own, you know, pay for their own meal. And we still get to have a beautiful experience. We still get to have a beautiful, and we still get to have beautiful memories. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. And I think somehow, and I'm not saying this creator in particular, but like I feel like sometimes that kind of mindset is part of the reason why a lot of us, a lot of us a lot more alone, a lot of us a lot more lonely because we're not getting together with nobody, because everything has to be like we have to be the you know, the perfect of all of the things, start to finish, A to Z. Like no. You could do your low one too. They could bring the low one to we come together and we let it do what it do. Comment down below and let me know. Now speaking about the greater good, I came across this video of a preacher, and it really got me thinking about one of the biggest, ⁓ biggest pet peefs that I've been having with church, the Christian church, to which I am a part of, right? One of the biggest pet peefs that I've been having with the church, and that is the church has become notorious for distancing themselves. From some of the harm that their decision making, whether that be, you know, with their voting or whether that be with how they run things within their church or their communal gatherings, distancing themselves from the consequences and the results of those decisions under the guise of like, I'm just focusing on God and I'm gonna worry about me and what the Lord has to say. Nah, fam, nah, bruh, you are part of the collective. Some of the things that you did landed all of us to be right here, okay, with lab-grown meat on the horizon. Now, the video I'm gonna play talks about this point as a general sense. I do not know this man. I do not know his church. I do not even know the full sermon that he was speaking about. This particular point that he was trying to make, and he was directing it, I guess, towards the man of his church. The particular point that he's making literally is the point that I've been feeling a little bit more aggravated at when it comes to the church. It is it is not lost on anybody that the the the the the current political climate, right, is largely due to how the church voted. So much so that even when you hire as president, I think on one of his speeches. He was literally saying the choir part out loud on some like, you know, church people, go vote how y'all votes. That's too big to rig. If you want to save America, get your friends, get your family, get everyone you know and vote. Vote early, vote absentee, vote on election day. I don't care how, but you have to get out and vote. And again, Christians, get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It'll be fixed, it'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you. Get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good you're not gonna have to vote. Meaning go prioritize the single issue that the church people seem to care more about. which is what what happens down a woman's ⁓ whatchamacallit canal. Feel how you wanna feel. But like that is not the greatest issue plaguing our society. You you do with your do with your coochie as the Lord directs. Okay. Once upon a time, I done dedicated my coochie to the house of the Lord. It didn't last for too long because you know. I wanted to touch and agree, right? But that was my coochie, and that was the choice that I decided to make with my coochie. Others have different choices. In the house of the Lord, others have different choices, right? But the greatest issue plaguing our community, plaguing our nation, plaguing the world, the poverty, the abuse against women, which by the way, the Cornell rapist. I hope y'all burn in hell right here on earth. Like, and everybody that helped protect you, all the powers that be of that Cornell University that helped protect her. I pray all of y'all burn in hell studying from right here on earth. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. One disgusting, cruel. Cruel. Right? What was I saying? Chair. Yeah, the abuse against women from men of power, all these issues, women's rights being stripped away from them, all these issues that's actually plaguing our society. The church voted for that. The church voted for a man that specifically and pacifically spoke about dividing families. The church did. Because this man, he did not bamboozle y'all. Everything that's happening, he said he would do. The mass deportation, he said he would do that. The church looked away at all of that, looked away at the ways in which some of his policies was literally gonna strip away food from the very members of your own church. Someone within the church, benefit from some of the government assistance, right? That this country is able to offer folks. Because let's keep it a bug. In countries like where I'm from, It ain't no government assistance. The the government is assisting the government. The president is assisting the president while the rest of the country is burning and going through a whole lot of twos rolling and gyre rating. Ya Chi Chi Just and I'm serious man, right? But the the church left all of that, voted based off of one single issue, which is abortion laws and abortion rights. You voted for that. Yeah, you have voted with just that in mind. And so now there's a there's a plateau of different issues that's happening. Families being separated from their loved ones, children, you know, not having access to so many different things, like poor people, literally the war against the poor. All these different things are happening and then the church gets to be like Well I'm leaning on God. I'm focusing on what the Lord is saying because politics don't matter to me. Policies are no, it did matter because of how you voted. It did. Stop bitching about what is happening at the White House and take care of responsibility at your house. Now, why are you in the house of the Lord cursing out the people of God? Mie shouldn't have the same vocabulary. Okay, me and you should not have the same vocabulary. ⁓ stop bitching about what's happening at the White House, focus on what's happening in your house. The things happening in the White Houses in like the government is affecting the things that's happening in your house. And if so many of us Christians, not me though, because I'm concerned with my coochie and my kuchi alone. When it comes to the way I vote, I vote in as part of the larger, the the larger, the larger benefit of the group. Okay? What you wanna do with your coochie, like and your birthing canal, that ain't got nothing to do with me. You will answer to your savior the same way I will answer to mine. So you worry about yourself, I'm gonna worry about myself, okay? But otherwise, we vote for the benefit of the large group. But what is happening in the government is gonna affect what's happening in your house. We can't, we can't, we cannot, we can't now remove ourselves and something like, ⁓ let's not worry about the government. When a little while ago, that's what y'all was doing. Y'all was on campaigns. And I'm not saying this particular pastor in general, please. I don't know this man. But like that, that's what we was doing. Right? That's what we was doing. And so now. The government is affecting not just your life, it's affecting my life. And it's affecting the lives of so many people in worse in worse positions than the average person. Families again who have been separated from their from their loved ones. We are in a war for no doggone reason. People losing their loved ones in a world that don't make no doggone sense. Those are politics, okay? Those are politics affecting our lives now. The price of goods, the way it goes up, it don't come down. It's affecting our lives now. Right? So while y'all as a collective, and I'm saying y'all as in like the the church as a collective was more concerned about what was happening down there in a woman's uterus. Okay, and you voted because of that. Now, these are the things that's affecting all of our everyday lives. Some of us more than others. Okay? Some of us more than others. So you can't pray that away. Like we can't make stupid decisions and then slap a little prayer on top of it and go talk about how I'm focusing in my household. Part of focusing in your household, okay? Focusing on your household is the ways in which, okay, you you vote the policies. That ends up affecting your everyday life. One of the biggest, one of the biggest, ⁓ what shall we call it causes of divorce gonna be money? And money gonna affect intimacy. Money gonna affect the time that we're spending together. If now I have to be working a whole lot more just to buy the egg and the lab-grown meat, okay? If I have to do that, now I'm irritated and I'm coming home with the attitude, and now we're losing that connection, that friction. The root of it was probably money. So the the the the politics in the White House. Has a way of actually affecting our homes, is what I'm trying to say. I don't have any dominion over the White House, but I have dominion over my house. You did though. I've never been one of the people that be like, ⁓ your vote doesn't matter. As a black woman in this country, that is one of the things that I could never allow myself to even believe. Because the ways in which I know ⁓ our black ancestors fought for the rights to be able to just even exist as humans and to have the basic rights of voting and all of the things. I'll never sit over here and be ignorant on some like, ⁓ the voting doesn't matter. Like that's just never gonna be me. Because if it didn't matter, They wouldn't put so much effort and emphasis on trying to reap us from that right to be able to exercise that voting, ⁓ that voting right. They wouldn't do that. They wouldn't do that. So, of course, it does matter to some capacity, right? So, yes, you did. In the polls, you did. You chose again, you chose to vote in a way that would actually be harmful to other people as a way to preserve your faith. Now, believe in the Lord. I do. But to believe in God is not by force. It is not by force at all. It is not by force. Or ain't got no dominion over the White House. Maybe not literally, like you're not the one making decisions. But like whenever we vote, right? The the the the the the the White House is maybe on the bigger, on the larger scale. But like all the people you vote down the down the way, the mayors, the governors, the senate, the all of the people, the attorney generals, like everything that everybody that you have to vote for along the way, that is you exercising your power to to make your voice be heard. There's this distancing or something like, I'm not gonna worry about politics no more. I'm gonna focus in my household. But we're here because of you participated in you participated in all of us being here. Y'all don't get to sanitize that with the blood of the lamb and leave everybody else, okay, to deal with the consequences of the choices that you made. Who calling? You cannot. So as for me and my house will serve the Lord. Right? Pay attention to the things that you do have dominion over, not the things that you don't have dominion over. You feel like a man, you feel blessed, you're you're grateful. Jesus died for all of it. It can all be forgiven. You can get a fresh, clean start with Jesus Christ. And guys, this is my heart. This is my heart for you. There's more for you. There's Better for you. There's destiny for you. There's dignity for you. There's legacy for you in Jesus' name. For you young guys, start exercising dominion over yourself. Again, like I said, the message in and of itself, on some like, you know, focus and take control of your own life. That can be applied to all of us. On some like, hey, you know, instead of worrying about the things that may seemingly be out of your control. Focus on the things that you can control and let it do what it do. That is a general thing. I'm not slow. I can understand that as a concept. But within the the the context of again, religious men, religious people, and particularly how he spoke about how like you shouldn't worry about what's happening in the White House, you should worry about what's happening in your household. That to me is where I'm just kinda like, yes, we do have to worry about what's happening in the White House because again, most Christians participated in putting the men that's in the White House right now. Okay, not just the men, even some people below him, because people just be thinking it's our president, but like it's a lot of idiots ⁓ surrounding him. It's a lot of idiots on the horizon around him. Right? We participated in that. And I'm saying we because I too am a Christian, right? I ain't I ain't vote that way the way some of y'all voted, or some of y'all that just refused to vote because you cannot stand having a woman in power. Let's keep it a bug, let alone a black one, right? But I seen the distancing or something like we just gonna we gon we gonna make things hellish for everybody else and then we're gonna run to the cross and take dominion over our lives. No, no, no. Comment down below, let me know. Now keeping up with the church, why I done seen this pastor, and I'm just gonna like Jesus wept. Okay? Jesus, that baby wept. That baby web, because you have this man who literally said this. Can't believe, man, you're driving a car in church. That's gimmicky. That's unchrist-like. No, it's not. I'm taking a page out of Christ's playbook. He preached from boat bows and beaches. He drew in the sand. He took salt. Here's a coin. This Rolls Royce is a metaphor of your life and mine. We are designed for Jesus Christ. To drive the car. And I'm gonna ask you: Is he driving your car? My friend, if you go to church and you're ever bored, don't blame God, blame the communicator. Church should not be a boring place. Church should be about, and this is gonna mess some of you up, entertainment. What does it mean to entertain? It means to capture and hold someone's attention for an extended period of time. What did Jesus do when he taught? He entertained. I'm not gonna lie to you. Some of y'all be having the emotional intelligence of ⁓ three, five business days. Okay, just like Brain cells now on the horizon. Why am I hearing claps in that? Why am I hearing claps in that congregation? Okay. Comment down below and let me know. Based off of the clip that we played alone, is there anything in that message about God being able to drive your life that required an ultra Royce Roy Rolls Royce? Hey, hey, hey, hey. Rolls Royce? Is he Roll Royce now? Mm. It's Roll Royce. Hold on. Rolls Royce. Mm-hmm. That's a rich pastor's car right there. I'm telling y'all this right now. The only reason why I'm broke is because I'm trying to I'm trying to look content. I should start me at church. Rolls Royce. Mm-hmm. Okay. A Roll Royce retails at least close to half a million. Okay. Now don't know if he or somebody in the church actually owns the car or if maybe it was rented. I'm sure maybe it was rented, or if maybe he owns the car, I'm not sure. But what is there in the message about God being able to drive your life that actually required you to have an actual Rolls Royce in the house of the Lord? To make a point on something like, ⁓ Jesus was out here preaching in boats. Yes, we love it, but Jesus didn't go ahead and find him a boat, drag it into the house of the Lord for him to make a point about fishers and fishers of men. He didn't do that. The reason why Jesus preached in a boat is because they were in a motherfucking boat. The reason why Jesus preached in a boat is because they were in a boat. Okay. The reason why that baby was preaching in a boat is because there was a boat on the horizon. Peter, Simon, and all the other ones on the horizon trying to fish, and the fish was not being caught, and all of the things. He was preaching from a boat because there was a boat. He didn't go to the temple, find a boat, drag the boat inside the temple to entertain the people. Okay, and give them a stupid analogy about how God gonna help them swing their lies. It comes a point where you guys, you guys have to stop insulting the intelligence of your or your of your church attendees. Because God's gonna drive your life. Does that require an actual Rose Royce? Yet again, yeah, I just want things come back to y'all. A lot of these things, a lot of these churches, the the the the praise and the recognition, y'all want it to come back to y'all because there's nothing about a Rolls-Royce that should lead anybody to Christ. You're not dealing with a bunch of five-year-olds that need everything demonstrated for them. Now, there's a literacy crisis. I'm not negating that. Comprehension don't be on the horizon all the doggone time. ⁓ I'm sure it's hard sometimes because the people have got to compute some things, okay? Sometimes the Wi-Fi got to reload a couple of times. However, coma period. What adults with the functioning brain that you know are not gonna be able to understand the point of God gonna drive your life and He's gonna take the wheel if you let him, without having an actual luxury car flounted at your audience? What? If you can't preach, just say that. ⁓ Okay. If you cannot find no new message down there in Deuteronomy and the things, just say that. Because a lot of ya, a lot of ya, the message don't be giving. Yeah, really, it don't be giving nothing that nobody and their mama that's actually been in church can pull together that little sermon. It don't be giving that, okay? It ain't no anointing, it ain't no word on the horizon. So to distract the people of God from that, I'm gonna give you a little, you know, a little scenarios. Okay, I'm gonna give you visuals. Gongivu da da shock factor. And I went on their website because I wanted to see, like, is this AI? Because one thing about AI, they keep trying to get me, y'all. Like, AI keeps trying to get me. Like, I cannot tell you the amount of times where I thought something was legitimately real. But then when you look at it closer and I'm like, dang, like this AI for real? So I was like, is this AI? So I go to look. They have like seven, is it seven? They have a lot of campuses, right? And none of the campuses are giving like very much like you know tiny churches. They're located in Texas, okay? Huge. Okay. I'm talking about huge buildings, huge, humongous buildings. And I guess he's the past. I think his name is gonna be like Ed or some. I'm gonna leave, you know, the little ⁓ the little website over here. But like, yeah, yeah, don't be yeah, don't be preaching nothing for real for real. And because the message ain't got no depths or whatever, obviously now we need a low we need a little tutorial. We need a little gimmick. We need a little entertainment. What do you mean the goal is to be entertained? Like and and we're supposed to be transformed and renewed. I'm still waiting for my new mind to come in, okay? My renewal subscription sometimes don't be working the way I need it to work. So I'm still I'm still waiting for my renewal to be renewed. Right, but ain't that the point for the transformation of your heart? If you're trying to be entertained, watch my show. If you wanna entertain watch watch a show. Watch my show. Like it ain't no it ain't no meat. Literally it ain't no meat the world. We're not really studying for real, for real. Because again, we're focusing on having all the gimmicks. We're focusing on having all the buildings, which again, I don't care what nobody says. You cannot convince me. That some of that money could not be could not be used for other things to actually help the community, to actually help the people of God. You cannot convince me. You cannot convince me that having, you know, large, fancy, you know, whatchamacallit, auditorium-ish looking churches is the way that that that that's gonna lead the people of God to Christ. Like you cannot convince me that at all. At all. And my other thing with like multiple locations, especially when you only have one senior pastor. So we have all these buildings only for the end of it all for people to be watching us on a screen. What was like what was the reason? Comment down below and let me know. But like to me, it don't I I just don't be I don't be seeing it for y'all for real, for real. And this is not me trying to knock down the people of God. I know this, you know, video was very much heavy on, you know, talking about the faith, but it's like as, you know, the same way, you know, men have to hold other men accountable for the things that they continue to perpetuate. You know, the violence, the abuse, and all of the things against women. Men have to lead that conversation. I think women have done their fair share. Done a lot of the things that they were supposed to do to protect themselves, Kinnikon, Kinnikon, right? So now it's the responsibility of the people, you know, causing the violence. Your fellow men have to rebuke you. They have to stand up and fight, right? They have to do that. Similarly, the church, I feel like continuously. To some degree in in recent years, because there's so many good that has also come from the church, as far as like, you know, ⁓ what you might call it, creating, you know, communities for people. Like I'll never forget. One time we had a funeral back when we're like in Zimbabwe, we're we were poor. We were not just broke, we were poor. Like I'm talking about poverty, like below the poverty line, we was in Yemen. Okay, if this is the poverty line, we was I'm talking about lower, lower, right? But it was a pastor. Who essentially like, you know, helped us, you know, cover some of the funeral costs, this and the third. And I'll never forget that La Pasteur Gérard. It was like a very small church. So like I always felt it always felt like communal. It always felt communal to me in a way that you cannot get from some of these, you know, mega churches. And again, I'm not anti-mega church, but it's like the community and the belonging and the pastoring that can occur. That one on one where, like, you know, you actually feel like you belong as a part of like a like a you you belong as a part of like a community. You don't get that. And then you add the whole, you know, big giant online s of it all, where like the pastor, you're not watching him from like on the screen because it's like it's seven locations for what? For what? Then I might as well be at my house tuning in online, right? The same way men have to go ahead and fight. And be held responsible for the ways in which they've let their fellow men, okay, run around rampant, causing harm to people. I believe that Christians, whenever we see our fellow Christians doing certain things that's just kind of like, I don't know about that, that we are the ones that should be calling it out. We are the ones that should be holding our leaders accountable. We are the ones that should be doing that. Now it doesn't have to be, you know, it doesn't have to be harsh, it doesn't have to be mean. But like I believe we the ones that are supposed to be doing it. Comment down below and let me know. Now, before I do go, I have to give the cone on the cup award to our good sister Amanda Seals yet again. Beloved, I'm talking about some of y'all Amanda, I feel like is a good example of why it's not always appropriate for some of your parents to be telling your kids that the reason why people don't like them is because they're hating them. ⁓ you, you know, they're just like jealous of you because of all the things that you have. They're just jealous of you. Like, she's a perfect example of you. We need to manage the ways in which we speak to our kids. Cause you are special, but beloved, you were not that special. We we need to do that, okay? Because why is she gonna go ahead and release this? We all know who Amanda Seals is. Amanda Seals. Amanda Seals, Amanda Seals. Amanda Seals is struggling with mental illness. Amanda Seals is the poster child for ⁓ black women who lack accountability. I just don't understand why Amanda Seals is just always in victim mode. It kind of gave a little bit of victim mentality. Well with this case, Amanda Seals, she may be a narcissist. Amanda Seals are f full disclaimer. I don't like her. I don't think there's ever been an interview where I watched her for more than five minutes and thought she was likable. I think I would enjoy a conversation with this human being. But anyway, ⁓ Amanda Seals. Amanda Seals. Amanda Seals. Amanda Seals like ability. And told her she wasn't enjoyable to be around. Amanda Seals is proof that being the smartest, most qualified person in the room means nothing if people don't want to be in the room with you. Amanda Seals, the fact that she's so unlikable, ⁓ it kind of cancels out her message, her voice. And also to our as us as the public to even engage with her. Every time Amanda Seals opens her mouth, she confirms why the fuck no one likes her. Amanda's this Amanda Seals situation. What is it that Amanda Seals and Madame Fraud fakie foo foo boo boo last name the fucking fool Cheyenne Bryant haven't called me well? Amanda Seals is self diagnosed and Cheyenne Bryant is self decorated in a bunch of doctoral degrees that do not exist. You don't have autism, you're fake, you're late, and you're a fraud. For us that Those of us that have people in our lives that have autism, when we see people like you make a mockery out of it and sound like a fool. Amanda Seals, Amanda Seals, Amanda Seals, you want to be a part of the establishment. Amanda Seals is talking about her lack of support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Are the epitome of what white supremacy does to black people, sits on the outside and judges. When you're actually black and you're supposed to be woke black, even though you're in Calabasas with the Kardashians, you're Clearly out of touch, you're clearly delusional. And I don't care, smart people are still stupid, and stupid people sound smart. And somewhere in that you'll figure out which one you are. Just understand that everybody don't have the right barbecue sauce to come to the picnic. And your potluck dish is nothing but potato salad with raisins. I am looking at a black woman who is angry, who is mad, and who is losing grip with reality because she's caught up in her own shit. And for my final act of love, a diss track. I am her. That's why they say in And the reality is, yes, maybe some people in that video, you know, Jason Lee or whatever that man's name is, maybe they did not speak to you with the most kindness, or maybe they did not have all the facts in the ways in which they spoke about you. But the reality is, can nobody be right all the doggone time? Like if you're somebody that's like you are never at fault, it is always somebody that's doing something to you. Something has gone horribly wrong. Because why one of the people in the video, why she gonna come out and release the fullness of the video of what she was actually talking about? So I see a clip is going viral where Amanda Sill is just talking about her lack of support for Vice President Kamala Harris. And be clear, I don't care if she supports her or not, she's entitled to do that. She's entitled to her opinion. However, I have to push back on any notion that vice president Kamala Harris erases or marginalizes systemic racism, especially as vice president when there is Ample evidence to the contrary. So I'm just going to lay out where Amanda makes points about things that need to be addressed and where Vice President Kalmway already stands on that. We have shooters that are going into places and killing people because of their race, and then we're not calling it domestic terrorism. What we know from the intelligence community one of the greatest threats to our national security is domestic terrorism manifested by white supremacists. We have an entire culture of police. That are killing black people and getting away with it because the law says they can. I was as a senator, as a United States Senator, a co-author of the original George Floyd Justice and Policing Act. And as Vice President of the United States, we demand that Congress pass the George Floyd Justice and Policing Act. Joe Biden will sign it. We should not delay, and we will not be denied it is non-negotiable. We have a country that was 1,000% built on the foundation of racism that now legislators are trying to pretend didn't happen and are getting that through and doing it on an education level. ⁓ Living history, breathing history, history that we create every day, and history that we then must teach and celebrate. A history that helps us to understand how the past has influenced the present and potentially our future. And let us all be clear, we will not as a nation build a better future for America by trying to erase America's past. And on a DEI level, you cannot, as the second in line to the highest form of office in this country, make a message on hope. And so these are issues that we must confront. And it doesn't it does not help to heal our country, to unify us as a people, to ignore the realities of that. So what have we learned? If you care about what the vice president has to say about certain issues, maybe you should start paying attention to her when she speaks instead of taking a headline and running with it. But more on this. This Saturday, my show. The Reese Cobra Show series XM Urban View 126, 3 to 4 p.m. Tune in. We just heard her. She didn't meet you with any kind of animosity. She didn't meet you with any disrespect. She literally just presented the facts of what you got wrong with some of the things that you were saying about Vice President Kamala Harris. Somebody correcting you does not make them a hater. Somebody pointing out maybe some of your blind spots does not make them a hater. Now, is that something that maybe you want to hear all the time? Because again, if you're somebody that's like maybe in the public and some of the things that you're saying is being, you know, you know, scrutinized and all of the things, I'm sure that that may not be the funnest thing to maybe hear. And I've never been the one to be like, ⁓ you're, you know, you're popular, therefore, you should be able to take all sorts of disrespect and abuse. I've never been that, nor will I ever be that. But the reality is, a lot of the people in the video that she compiled on somebody, you know, these people are just hating on me. To some degree, some of them were just disagreeing with you the same way. You be propping up your own, you know, your own phone and your own camera and your own microphone and disagreeing with people out loud. Disagreeing with people and their choices out loud. You do the same thing. You do the same thing. And sometimes your tone always suggests that other people are doing the things that they're doing because they're stupid, because they're not thinking as well as you're thinking, because they're not as smart as you are, and all of the things, right? So when other people turn around and they make videos, okay, disagreeing with you and talking about the things that maybe you are doing that's wrong. And if they don't do it in a way that's like disrespectful, because again, I think we've lost the art of disagreeing with people in a way that's like, you know, mindful, you know, and very much like, you know, respectful and all of the things like everybody and their mama are mad, all the dog on time. I get it. The eggs are lab grown. Okay, the the the eggs not even crossing the cooch of the chicken no more. I get it. Everybody's tense, everybody's mad, all the dog on time. I get it. But for the most part, again, a lot of the people in that video, they disagree with you the same way you disagree with people and then prep your camera and talk about your disagreements. But when you are the receiver of the said disagreements, now you want to release a this song calling everybody a hater. And the reality is. Nobody's hating on you because it ain't nothing to hate on the horizon. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The song was corny. You're struggling to take accountability for some of the ways in which that some of the things that you're saying. You are small, but like even the smartest person can be wrong about certain things. And it's like the ability to refuse to see that, that is problematic. So go ahead. The cone on the cob is all yours, beloved. Enjoy it. I'm talking about elotes. Okay? Elotes. Like it's just corny. Coney. Plantations, corny. Okay? Corn on the cob, Coney. It's enough. Okay? Enough. It on me if you haven't yet, please go ahead and subscribe. Turn on the notification bell so that you always know when I upload. I'm sorry again that this video is a little late, but we're gonna let it do what it do. Okay. Thank you so much for listening. I've been your host, okay, and I'm gonna be your host for a little while longer if you let me. But until then, I got to go. Bye for now.
