INFORMAZIONI SU QUESTO EPISODIO
Take 2 devotes this special episode to celebrating the legendary career of longtime KTVU meteorologist, Steve Paulson, as he retires. The show, hosted by Andre Senior and featuring Steve's co-anchor Pam Cook, longtime director Ken Lawrence, and appearances by other station family members, highlights his 40-year career in the Bay Area, marked by genuine camaraderie and unpredictable humor. The conversation kicks off with a tribute to the enduring success of the KTVU Morning Team—Dave, Pam, Sal, and Steve—noted as one of the longest-reigning anchor teams in the Bay Area. Steve and Pam discuss the secret to their chemistry: a mutual fondness and un-planned spontaneity that viewers love. They reflect on the early days of the morning show, its evolution into the station's powerhouse, and acknowledge the "heavy hitters" and producers who paved the way.
The highlight of the farewell is the outpouring of love from the community and Steve's colleagues. The hosts play a moving video message from aspiring an broadcast meteorologist from Daly City, whom Steve has been a mentor to.
The team also acknowledges the importance of the station's dedicated "Weather Watchers," playing a message from Chloe in Lake County, who has been relying on Steve's forecasts for 25 years. They discuss the unique connection the show has built with viewers—even those who have moved away—who tune in for the trusted, local forecast. They share an emotional tribute video montage of some of Steve's most memorable on-air moments and signature "Steve-isms." Pam gets emotional while reflecting on his kindness and the "silly dad jokes" he would send her daughters. Steve shares the personal reason behind his retirement—to spend more time with his father. The episode closes with heartfelt goodbyes, cake-cutting, and a promise that the friendships forged over decades will continue off-screen.
