Theresa Dedmon Ministries: Because you're called to reign in life. You're called to be a champion. You're not called to let things pass by, but you're called to run your ways. I believe that Paul and the Holy Spirit are encouraging us to prepare ourselves in every way to cross our finish line well. Hi, I'm Teresa Dedman and this is Kingdom Create Talks, where creativity and the supernatural collide. And we have Thrive Life. That is amazing. It's only two hours per week where you can thrive and grow and find out your identity, build resistance in like things that have prevented you from growing. ⁓ become healed from stuff that has happened to you in the past. Become emotionally aware of where you're headed, ⁓ how you can create with God, how you can hear his voice, and how you can really master ⁓ this thing called, okay, how do I build a habit to keep me to become who I'm called to be? So we do all of that in our identity track called KCM Thrive Life. So check that out. That is a part of the membership. So if you go, Teresa, it how much does that cost? Well, it's just a part of the membership. And we have In the chat, KCM Triple 10. I can't wait to see you on there, friends. So check that out. Those might be the game changers for you, the immersion school, the one-day event, or the academies, which are nine months, the one that's more in-depth, the leadership, or the one that's less in-depth. The KCM Thrive Life. So check those out. And we have something for youth too. So if you have a youth who's 11 to 19, they can join for $10 and be with us in the KCM Thrive Life and be in a small group that is just four teens with a leader. So so much that we have for you. But let's dive into today. I'm excited that you're here. We're talking today about a subject that I absolutely think is foundational for everyone. It's called ⁓ training for raining. Training for raining. This is gonna change your life. And this is how do you train for raining? That's R-E-I-G-N-I-N-G. That means going from victory. So let me pray for all of you and let's pray for Father and let's get started. Father, I thank you for people that are with me now. Woo! that are on this amazing time that we have episode and I just pray that people would be encouraged that today would be a time where they see where they are and they see their strengths and they see what you want to do in their life. So Father we bless today in Jesus' name. Shout out to everybody who's on. So glad you're here. So training for reigning in life. So it's so amazing. I I love the power of vision. Who here knows? Like, like ⁓ if you go on a vacation, you have to have a vision, you have to have a purpose, you have to know where you're headed. ⁓ we have an Iron Man that just came, and this is all in my newsletter. So if you want everything that I'm talking about today, get just join on treesadebund.com, sign up for my newsletter, and that can be in your inbox every week for free. So we had an Iron Man. And in the Iron Man, I I have to tell you, it's it's just like everything shut down in Reading, which is a smaller community where I live. But let me tell you what an Iron Man, what what happens in the Iron Man if you don't know right now. So it is it involves a 2.4 swim. All right. So I can barely swim across our pool twice without huffing and puffing. Who who is with me in that journey? I know and Keek, my my wonderful sister in law, she ⁓ she's amazing. She has her own pool and she can be out there 247. I have my grandkids that are in the pool every day in writing. It is hot here. And they swim back and forth and they're calculating how many laps they do, whatever. And I'm like, that's awesome. So so in one day, in one as back to back, you swim two point 2.4 miles. Okay, that that's huge. Now I I would not be a candidate. Not unless I had a life preserver on or something. Okay, the second thing they do is they have a hundred and twelve bike ride. Now okay, I I could do about thirty miles, maybe fifty, on my electric bike. So I I would be a little bit different than the regular cyclist that are out there. But in that context, like think about that. 112 miles after swimming that long, then they go into a run. And the run is a marathon 26.2 miles. Now I can jog maybe two miles at best. But let me tell you, I I'm gonna be huffing and puffing. I'm not gonna be. ⁓ looking around and trying to figure out okay this is the 13th mile okay this is the no I'm gonna be like what can I go home so this is crazy so ⁓ who even thinks about doing these events that's my question who would even begin who's crazier to even enter this event okay cra crazy to who makes up this stuff And then who enters it? Now I'm glad because I found out that this is a half iron man. I'm thinking, holy cows, get out the stretchers, right? But still, what is going on? So I researched this, guys. I thought, who who does these things? I mean, who actually trains for these things? I mean, takes the time, like hours, days, months beforehand to do that. And you know what I found out? This is crazy. ⁓ I found out that people do it to test the upper limits of their physical and mental resilience to find a deeper sense of personal identity and to experience the unforgettable milestone of crossing the finish line. Now, believe me, I would go out there, ⁓ block a four and then finish the finish line. If that's what you want, I'll I'll take a picture of you. I'll take a picture of me. Like, what? Like. Just to cross the finish line. And I love this thing about physical and mental resilience. Like, okay, all right. So I can think of doing something, but not to that intensity to grow. And then personal sense of identity. Now, this is important because we have to realize like these people train. And so I I found out, so I asked chat GBT. So How often, what is this? How when do people train? All right. So the base phase is from seven to 10 hours per week for eight weeks. Seven to ten hours. That's like a job. And then the peak phase is 12 to 18 hours. And that's for 12 weeks. So they are in that place. And then frequency training usually takes five to six days. Now I don't know about you, but I don't have the time, the willpower, or even the the the motivation to do this. But you might be that person. Please let me know in the chat if this is you. So ⁓ most people also now, I I also wanted to factor in, okay, well then how do people do this now? I I just want to know like, do they have a personal trainer? Do they have a group that they train with? Who really makes it to the finish line, right? Because this is like a long period of time to see progress. So this is what they said for accountability that knowing your training partners expect you to show up at 5 a.m. makes it such a harder, harder thing to miss. So, number one. There's something about accountability. Somebody doing it with you. Somebody stupid enough. Or I don't know, like just like it's crazy that wants to get up at 5 a.m. in the morning and work for five to six hours. Crazy. All right. So accountability is number one, why they why they finish, why they do this. Number two is a social outlet. I'm thinking, wow, I don't need that social outlet. So the iron training. Takes massive amounts of time. So a team provides a built-in social life with people who understand your goals. They're all wanting to do this crazy thing, right? Okay. So that's important. And then pace and safety. So groups law group long rides teach you how to draft and ride safely in a pack. So which mimics a race to race, a race day condition. So doing it together, you learn things that you wouldn't do by yourself. You learn how to draft if you're biking. You you learn all different kinds of things that will help you to grow and for the day off. And then lastly, potential pitfalls. Hmm. So peer pressure in a group, this accountability group, can sometimes push you to raise your teammates during easy recovery days, which is risks of energy of injury. Now that's another reason why I wouldn't want I I love my body. I I know. It doesn't want to do this and I don't want to do that. So when I looked at this, I'm thinking, just just practically speaking, okay, number one, who does this? Who's crazy enough to do it? Who has the time to do it? Who has the team around them to do it? The accountability partner, etc. But then I asked myself, wow, am I dedicated? Where am I dedicated? What am I dedicated to become? If these people are such diehards, and so I thought, well, let's look at scripture and see what Paul said. So I I I love this in Phil Philippians 3, verses 13 through 14. This is what I want to do. I want to I want to compare this Iron Man to what happened with Paul and what he encourages us in Philippians three. And it says, forgetting what is behind and straining toward the mark. Toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. So what's interesting to me is that Paul is calling us for a lifestyle training for reigning program. He's he's not he's not saying, ⁓ guys, check it out for three months you're gonna train and then you're gonna for for three months you can really grow with me and then you're you're you're done. No, Paul is talking about forgetting what is behind and pressing on toward the mark to be our lifestyle, to be our culture, to be what we get up. Why do we get up early? Like I'm reading a great book. It's just amazing. And it's called Miracle Morning. And it's about this one guy who almost died. Great story, great book, and how he had to rethink. The way that he thought about his life, and someone said to him, if you want to succeed over here in life, then your personal your your personal life has to has to compare with that, or else you won't succeed. In other words, in got in with God's economy, who we are, if we're not growing in Christ, if we're not doing daily things to grow, spiritual ways of of really moving. then we're going to become complacent and we won't fulfill all that God has for us. And so miracle, miracle ⁓ mourning is about his what he what he's done in valuing what people have done that are successful. And you know what he found? This is crazy, all right? He found that people who took time to just meditate, like what the scripture says, That they were more successful. He found that people who did daily affirmations, I am God's child, I am anointed, whatever it is that you say, that that was part of people who really were successful. He found that people's daily habits of of doing like different like verbal like ⁓ declarations and affirmations also So there's something about verbally going after who we are, not just like having the affirmation, but actually visualizing and verbalizing that, which they found in sports, they found in so many things, people that can visualize winning that race, people that can visualize like themselves speaking if they want to speak in public or if they want to create art or whatever it is, if they visualize what God is saying through them to do that. The stronger will be the success of them. So he found that visualization declarations were important. And then he found that exercise. I know everybody, exercise is important. I do about two or I do about maybe 13,000 steps per day. So that's important. So those are the things that he found. And then he found that reading, like taking time to read or listen to a podcast. That's all part of people growing and thriving. And then the last one is just really taking time to develop who you are and how you can like see yourself in God's eyes through scripture, through daily things that you can do to model that. So there's different things that he found out. And then he did it. And within two months, his business grew, it doubled. And two and two in two months also his marriage was strengthened. So there's something about what he learned, like in this amazing Iron Man that helped them to succeed. Just like the people that just did this Iron Man, what they learned about ways that you can like exercise, ways that you can mentally ⁓ prepare. That's all part of how God designed us, which is why we have the scripture. That's why we ha because Jesus wants us to succeed. And part of that in Proverbs is to watch our tongue, watch what we say about ourselves. And so isn't that interesting? So this is all part of my heart for you is ⁓ who sets the race for the parameters? Like I know like this man discovered things from studying people that were successful in just within our culture right now. And then he wrote this book about maybe five or ten years ago. But what does God say that we're to do? What and and I found that okay, he says to daily meditate, he says to affirm who you are, he says to listen, to read, to see who you are, to study, he says to be in community, which is another part that I feel is so vital from the Iron Man that I would take into. more of the miracle morning, I would say actually encouraging people is part of that DNA that God has said. I mean it talks about it in Hebrews 10, 23 through 24, not to not not to stop meeting together, whether that's on an online platform like what I do in Kingdom Create Kingdom Creative Movement or whatever, that you continue to meet. You listen to Joel Osteen, you listen to amazing people that that steer you in the right direction, but you're constantly learning, you're curious. So ⁓ so let's see. So let's just say that if God sets the parameters, if he's at the finish line, then how would you run your race? What would you be doing with your time? And what sacrifice, it wouldn't be a sacrifice, it would be a blessing because you're learning to live like God. So the Iron Man concept If we take it scripturally, if we take it and we put God as our coach, it does change everything. And it's changed everything in my life. So if we have Christ living in us and we are running a race as we fix our eyes on him, on Jesus, according to Hebrews twelve, verse one, then then how are we doing? Like how are we we need to assess like like I just got a ⁓ a little alarm clock. That is just like a it's it wakes me up at 5 a.m. so that I can really take the time to do my my daily ⁓ stuff in the morning of prayer, of affirmations, of exercise, whatever. And it's gotta vibrate because I don't want to wake up my husband Kevin. You do not want to wake up your spouse. ⁓ How many of you have ever done that? So so you have to prepare, you have to get ready. So how are we preparing to run our race and are we taking it seriously like they did in the Iron Man ⁓ as those that are that that are running that? And are we aware of greater spiritual reward for those who press in and know him? Because there's something about I see the all of the in Hebrews it talks about the the witnesses that are waiting for us, that are watching us run our w race in the clouds. I picture that. ⁓ Why do we do that? Because we owe the world an encounter. He gave up everything for us to have eternal life. And now how we live our life is our great ours our great gift back to him. Yeah, j ⁓ j I love Jim Elliott. I love his his books. I love he was a missionary back in I think the nineteen forties or fifties who lost his life and he said he is no fool to give up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. He's just amazing. And so I love that quote because guys, one day we're going to stand before God. And ⁓ I was just listening to this podcast that was talking about this ⁓ Cornell University study where they studied ⁓ thousands of people and they asked them this question, what do you regret on their deathbed? And seventy five percent said not fulfilling my dream. In other words, not running my race. That's why this immersion school is so vital. We're going to help you to run your ways. We're going to help you with accountability. What is spurring you on and helping you to go the distance? Like what is causing you to say no to things that are not good and say yes to things that will help you grow? You know, I I wonder what Paul would say today to us if he was alive. I think he's looking for us to be champions. I think he sees you as a champion. And has equipped us with everything that we need to go the distance because our light needs to shine in the light of our our culture. We need to be that light. Maybe it's gonna be for a friend. Maybe there's somebody that as I'm speaking, you're going, Yeah, I need to reach out to Johnny. I need to reach out to Sarah. I I need to she's been so down, or he's been, he just lost his job. There there's people that God has given you. that they need help in running their race and they're confused or they're alone or they don't know who they are and that's why you're in their life. So you know there's so much going on in our country. I don't know if you saw, but in Massachusetts they just the legislation just passed for a full term abortion to become legal. That means a baby that that is nine months gestation, one that could thrive on their own. Instead of it being up for adoption, instead of it living their they're deciding to terminate their life. That is outrageous. We have to wake up and start to fight the giants that are destroying the fabric of God's family. I mean, is anybody with me? There's just things happening in our culture that that I don't believe are right. I mean, I don't think like fifty years ago that they would ever think that that would be legal. And so if we don't stand up, who will? And so some people will run their race for that. Some people will will run the race for other things that are important in our culture. But if we don't see the way that God sees it, and if we don't know our place in history like Esther, then we're gonna let all of these opportunities pass by and think, well, it's for somebody else to do. No, if you have a passion, God wants you to declare that and move into what you could do to transform that. And He'll show you. He's a good father. There's things right now. There's I I know I I my little granddaughter Brielle and she's 11 right now. And ⁓ and she is such a joy. She just started junior high in a new school, and she's wanting to wear Mimi's clothes and she's wanting to come in, and she just has such life in her. And I was just talking to one of my friends, and they she was they were having a big reunion. And her one of her granddaughters, who's the same age, ⁓ tried to end her life through taking pills because she was so afraid of starting junior high. Now I don't know about you, but when I'm writing my children's book, when I'm deciding to do stuff, I look at that story and I think, Lord, we have to do something about the way that our our children and our youth are thinking about who they are. So that's another point of it's like an invitation that God gives us when we see something like that. That we need to say, Lord, strengthen my muscles, strengthen my ability, strengthen, put a put a team around me so that I can thrive in life and make and really create my own Iron Man. Because you're called to reign in life. You're called to be a champion, you're not called to Let things pass by, but you're called to run your ways. I believe that Paul and the Holy Spirit are encouraging us to prepare ourselves in every way to cross our finish line well. Like I said, not to wonder, ⁓ like I wonder if I did this, I did that. So I do a lot. Some of you know me. So starting my KCM Thrive Life Academy, which I'd love for you to join, my my leadership academy, doing events like the immersion school, ⁓ painting, ⁓ writing my children's book, all of that, it it's like it's because it's my joy. It's because I want to leave a legacy. I want my grandkids to say, ⁓ yeah, my Mimi, she wrote this book and dedicated it for us. Like I I want there to be a legacy of the people that I've touched and what they're doing in their life. So that they can run their race. So you have to know like you are not only training for reigning, but you're called to train up others to run their race. So we need to become spiritually fit and develop a plan for being whole spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and physically fit so that we can run our race that God has set out for us. And that's my hope. That's my prayer for you. ⁓ through John one and two, like you know, that we would prosper in body, soul, and spirit. So we need to support kingdom beliefs and initiatives for families to be whole, for schools to be safe, for schools where kids don't feel bullied, ⁓ creative communities for ideas to emerge and for us to show the world the power of the cross through how we live, we love, and we support. If we don't look at the finish line, becoming like Jesus, I feel, and completing our assignment, then we can easily let busyness, woo, the cares of this life, Netflix, other things, apathy, humanism, or lukewarmness settle in and take up real estate in our hearts. How many of you have ever done that? I know I'm speaking to all of you out there, right? So if we let this happen, we will end up with flabby beliefs, weak habits and compromise. If we are not pressing on toward the mark, then that means we don't have our eyes on the goal. And most likely we are doing it alone or with the wrong team around us. There may be no team at all. Yeah, that's why David in the Bible asked God to search his heart to see if there is anything that That's holding me back from running my race. From that's keeping me from your presence. Psalm 139, verses 23 through 24. And he said he did that because he wanted to be clean. He wanted there to be nothing between him and God. And I want to do the same. I want to stay close to Jesus. I want him to search me today. I want To let what is happening in Massachusetts awaken the call of God in my life and in others around me. So we need to care because He cares. And that's what I want for you. In order to do that, I want to encourage you to take an inventory of your life. Are you training for raining like that miracle ⁓ morning? Are you going after your personal destiny and dreams? Are you looking for what he is what he is stirring in your heart to fight for? For your children, for society? Is your time filled up with loving God, others, and learning to love yourself in the way that God loves you? Or is it filled with worry, anxiety, criticism, and fear? Are you seeing the seeds and the needs around you and saying, Lord, I can do that for them. I can reach out to them. Lord, send me. So life goes by too quickly. I still think I'm young. And in the spirit, he's kept me that way. But I know that there is a day appointed for me. And so I want to decide today the direction about where I'm headed. And I pray that for you. You know, my my personal ⁓ my personal mission is like, I I want you to thrive and grow. There is there were people in my life that took me underneath their wing and I grew in community and I grew in their their life and I learned who I was. In everything that I do, I've learned I've learned to take the good, to spit out the bones, like John Weber said, and then to digest what God has. And I believe that every Every problem can be an opportunity for growth. But what I love is seeing the people around me thrive and grow, giving them the seeds from God, and then seeing it sprout and grow. So I was just with Melody Wang, who was a student of mine. She was with me for three to four years in 2017 to about 2019 or 20. And she served me as an intern. And she was amazing in my and she I I just was on her podcast and was talking about what she's doing now. And ⁓ and she she took trips with me. We went all over the world. She did all different kinds of stuff. She ⁓ she helped with so many different events that I did. She wrote songs, she won a song ⁓ for Taiwan. She for it was like this amazing American Idol of you know, it was for the faith environment. And she won. ⁓ and it was with a a song that she wrote for my school of creativity. There's so many other stories. She wrote a musical. There's so many things that she has done. And and she did that all back in Taiwan after she was with me. Now she learned that creativity and running her race could change a nation like Taiwan. But it all started. Because I taught her to dream, take risks, lead, believe in who God had called her to be, and never, and I mean never give up. She is now about to embark in writing more songs and helping us other musicians and worshipers in the Bay Area in California. So she's pressing on toward the mark. She's not letting go of God's calling on her life. So as we were talking, I realized. Even more. So I I love raising up people to learn and to create with God. That's my personal journey. That's my personal iron mean is to is to really grow in the presence of the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and encourage others to never give up on their dreams. That's one of my my callings in life. And as you read this newsletter. I want you to know that I believe in your dream. I believe in what God has called you to be. And I want you to thrive and grow just like Melody did. how I run my race every day and how I believe in people when they don't believe in themselves, it's what I love to do. I would do it no matter what. That's why would they call me Mama T because this is just part of my journey is to become a mother to creatives around the world. It's it's because I truly care. And I will be out there with you when it's raining or when you've lost your way or when you're just starting out on your Iron Man spiritual personal development journey. So so Training for Renee, that's what I want to talk. What steps can you take today to grow in your identity and to grow your muscles? One of the steps may be joining our online community this September, whether it's in the Kingdom Creative Movement Leadership Academy or whether it's in the Kingdom Creative Movement Thrive Life Academy. Check those out on TeresaDebman.com. It could be that you want to start a creative community at your church. That's what Alice Gavin, who I just talked to today from the UK, that's what she's doing. And she does events for people both in this in the church and in the marketplace where they creatively share through spoken word, through art, through different ways, and then they encourage others that don't even know God to create. And they they have this huge heart for the marketplace. ⁓ this is part of the story of your life. Michelle Cordell is raising up people in the Ventura County to create with God in a safe place where they can just soak in God's presence and then create in any way that they want. This is all part of her vision and her dream. So whether you're with you're like a Melody Wang and you're creating life and you're helping out worshipers, whether you're helping people like ⁓ like Michelle Cordell to just understand who they've been created to be. Whether you're like Alice growing up a kingdom creative movement in the UK, wherever you are, this is why we're alive. We're alive to impact others. ⁓ so I I want to encourage you, like, don't stop. Continue to grow. Don't let anything stop you. And if you're saying, Teresa, I've gone through a hard time and and I don't have the funds. To do either the leadership track, the Academy, or the KCM Thrive Life, just the monthly membership, that's what's included. Just let us know at ⁓ at support at TeresaDebma.com and we'll help you because everybody should be able to join and pay something to come into a safe community where they can thrive and grow. We love you. So I want you to take the plunge. I want you to decide today, wherever you are. To stop waiting for something to happen when you have to make that step for your dream to happen. Every dream happens not because you just something outside is gonna happen, it's because you take ownership for that dream. So the winners of the Iron Man in Redding were Jason West from Colorado and Grace Alexander, two in the for the women's. They're known, but I want you to be known. I want your life to matter. I don't want you to sit another moment and wonder, does my life have value? No, your life does. And God wants you to know it's time for you to start getting on your spiritual running shoes. That's right. Start to get in the water of the Holy Spirit. Get on the bike. If it's electric at first, thank you, Jesus, for electric bikes, whatever it is, and start to run your race. I I had a word for somebody out there too in closing that had stopped and started because they felt like they were rejected by a community. It could be a church, it could be a group of people, it could be even the family. And the Lord said he's giving you a do-over, he's gonna give you a family where you feel supported and loved. And then I heard the Lord say there's somebody out there that has lost their way. Like, wait a second, I don't have passion for God. I don't, I don't have a purpose. You're gonna find it at the immersion school ⁓ in September the 26th. It's just a matter of you just setting down your fear and walking out your identity in Christ. So I just want to pray for you all. ⁓ Lord, I thank you for my amazing. Amazing friends who watch every week this podcast or who are just now watching it for the first time. And I say it's time to train terrain. It's time for you to take off the fear of man and the lies that you can't and to put on the way that God sees you. Because he made you for a purpose and he made you to be successful. He made you to run. He gave you everything that you need. So, Father, I bless them with a strong community to support them. I bless them with ways that they can overcome. And I thank you, Father, for the time that we've had together today in Jesus' name. Amen. Woohoo! Well, if you enjoyed today, please let me know. INFORMAZIONI SU QUESTO EPISODIO
In this episode, I share what an Ironman race taught me about training for reigning in life and what it means to prepare ourselves to go the distance with God.
Just like athletes train with intention, we’re called to develop our spiritual, emotional, relational, and creative “muscles” as we pursue the calling He has placed on our lives.
We’ll talk about vision, perseverance, community, taking risks, and keeping our eyes on Jesus as we run our race.
Are you preparing to finish well?
