Episode 4: Exploring the Magic of Reiki Healing

Welcome back to another insightful episode of Healing Starts Here! Today, our hosts Mary Greensmith and Dee Nicole are diving deep into a fascinating topic that is very close to Dee's heart. We are stripping things back to basics to learn all about the beautiful, restorative practice of Reiki.

Whether you are completely new to energy medicine or looking to deepen your understanding, this episode is packed with wonderful insights!

At its core, Reiki is an energy healing practice. A practitioner holds a very specific vibration of healing energy and allows it to flow through the client's system. Dee explains that Reiki never pushes you past your boundaries; the energy naturally goes exactly where your body needs it across your mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical layers.

Dee shares her personal transition from a career as a professional dancer to becoming a Reiki Master. She started with what she playfully calls the "McDonald's version" of Reiki training just to see what it was about. Over time, she sought out incredible teachers across the country, eventually mastering the practice. Dee beautifully compares Reiki to ballet—it is the foundational strength and grammar that supports all other forms of energy healing.

One of the most mind-blowing aspects of Reiki is that it doesn't require you to be in the same room as your practitioner! Because it is energy work, it exists across space and time. Dee regularly conducts remote sessions while clients relax at home. She even provides energetic support for clients while they are undergoing major operations, which can help promote faster recovery and lower post-operative stress.

If you suffer from stress or anxiety, Reiki can be a profound tool. Dee shares a touching story of a stressed friend who, after just one session, simply felt like "everything is going to be okay." This deep, soul-level relaxation is exactly where true, lasting healing begins.
