Ron Martinez interview (Final Conflict/LOWER CLASS BRATS/Crawlspace Booking) | April 11th, 2020
Taped a 2 hour episode with Ron Martinez today and we went through the turmoils of what's going on with the live music industry, the way Final Conflict lineup came about in the mid 80s. Opening for Discharge along with Attitude Adjustment, Cryptic Slaughter & Dr. Know for their Grave New World show and the energy that was going on then. From there we learned a hell of a lot through Ron about Pusmort Records and Bacteria Sour records which put out legendary records and singles -- owned by Pushead of Metallica-artwork-fame to the greater public. He also detailed a hell of a lot about working with Penelope Spheeris on the Decline of Western Civilization pt. 3 and what it was like to see Final Conflict through 35mm film and a pristine sound production. We also meander through the glory days seeing Metallica and Guns N' Roses at their rawest, the way metal and punk crossed over in the 80s and the new hybrids that came out from that and finished off with his 3 record recommendations that everyone should have in their collection.
