AI now makes up 39% of U.S. GDP. It has a known, measured failure rate. We're building it anyway to prop up the dollar.
WHAT THIS EPISODE COVERS
Scott Kesterson continues from yesterday's Kill Chain episode to answer the question he's been chasing for months — why is AI being rolled out at this speed, despite a documented, measured failure rate — and lands on an economic answer: AI now constitutes 39 percent of U.S. GDP, making it the load-bearing pillar of an economy under maximum strain. Scott traces how the Genius Act's stablecoin framework absorbs excess U.S. Treasury debt that foreign buyers like Saudi Arabia have stopped purchasing, how controlling oil, gold, and rare earth minerals across South America, Greenland, and Iran forces the rest of the world back into dollar-based transactions, and how AI and surveillance infrastructure become the only tools capable of managing that system at global scale — a structure Scott names neo-mercantilism, modeled directly on the East India Company's colonial trade monopolies. The episode closes on Rutgers research into "elite panic," and Scott's own argument that the system's builders need public obedience to function, and that choosing community, forgiveness, and open-source sovereignty over fear and division is the actual resistance to it.
KEY QUESTIONS ADDRESSED
- Why does Scott argue that AI's rapid, unsafe rollout is fundamentally an economic necessity rather than a technology choice — and what does AI now representing 39 percent of U.S. GDP reveal about why its documented failure rate hasn't slowed the expansion?
- What is the Genius Act's stablecoin system, and how does Scott argue it absorbs excess U.S. Treasury debt that countries like Saudi Arabia have stopped buying, turning a declining demand for dollars into a forced demand for a new digital dollar instead?
- What is neo-mercantilism, and why does Scott compare current U.S. operations in Greenland, Venezuela, and South American mining regions directly to the East India Company's historic colonial trade model, where access to a market required partnering with a government-favored prime contractor?
