#27 When Underdogs Bite

WEBVTT
00:00:00.221 --> 00:00:01.385
Welcome to another episode of.
00:00:01.385 --> 00:00:02.347
They've Been Doing it All Day.
00:00:02.347 --> 00:00:07.306
Sir Manly got humbled by the Bulldogs and I'm drowning in Wallabies tears over here.
00:00:07.306 --> 00:00:08.487
Let's get stuck in.
00:00:13.855 --> 00:00:14.676
How's your week been, mate?
00:00:15.099 --> 00:00:18.349
Yeah, it's been really good mate, really good mate Back from Melbourne.
00:00:18.349 --> 00:00:19.571
Yeah, birthday weekend.
00:00:19.571 --> 00:00:23.387
Birthday weekend as well, fun-packed, sporting birthday weekend.
00:00:23.426 --> 00:00:24.240
It was so.
00:00:24.402 --> 00:00:27.102
you can't grumble with that, um, but no, yeah, it's good.
00:00:27.102 --> 00:00:29.649
Good to be back in old old sydney it is.
00:00:29.730 --> 00:00:33.179
It is um melbourne's, uh, an interesting one.
00:00:33.179 --> 00:00:36.548
I've got a few few interesting vibes whilst we were over there.
00:00:36.548 --> 00:00:39.261
Um makes you realize how good you have it in sydney.
00:00:39.261 --> 00:00:46.939
Yeah, I must admit um, but the mcg, what, what a stadium, incredible stadium, incredible stadium.
00:00:48.082 --> 00:00:51.131
I think that's the highest attended game I've ever been to as well.
00:00:52.307 --> 00:00:54.831
Wembley may have just been about the same.
00:00:54.831 --> 00:01:03.869
I reckon that Euro semi-final I mentioned previously might have been about the same attendance, but what's weird, the sheer volume of the MCG.
00:01:04.040 --> 00:01:07.861
It felt bigger it just feels huge, doesn't it?
00:01:07.861 --> 00:01:21.406
Yeah absolutely huge, um, and the thing is, as we discussed, we were sat there because we were on the top third tier, row b, and you're looking around and all you see is people, but then when you look behind, it's just another sea of people behind you.
00:01:21.486 --> 00:01:31.331
It was, it was crazy great stadium, great city, I must admit, like the, the nightlife, and it felt a bit busier, yeah, than sydney.
00:01:31.331 --> 00:01:38.331
It felt like there was a bit more going on, um, a bit more, bit more different things to do.
00:01:38.331 --> 00:01:46.427
There was a mixture of things to do, and we certainly experienced that on the friday night as well, with the questionable accommodation that we were staying in.
00:01:46.427 --> 00:01:46.989
Yeah, god.
00:01:49.123 --> 00:01:52.579
If I don't contract rabies or whatever from anything.
00:01:52.579 --> 00:01:54.126
Thank God I didn't cut myself anywhere.
00:01:54.387 --> 00:01:54.608
Yeah.
00:01:55.921 --> 00:01:57.105
Yeah, they did not care, did they?
00:01:57.847 --> 00:01:58.310
Cleaning.
00:01:58.310 --> 00:01:59.885
The room was clean.
00:01:59.885 --> 00:02:00.944
I'll give the room credit.
00:02:00.944 --> 00:02:06.528
It was clean, but the communal areas, such as the shower, could do with a bit of mould remover.
00:02:06.748 --> 00:02:11.207
Yeah, yeah, I think they need to get some dusters feather dusters up in the cobwebs as well.
00:02:11.207 --> 00:02:15.985
There was a few knocking about, but no, it was good.
00:02:15.985 --> 00:02:17.224
It was good, other than that.
00:02:17.224 --> 00:02:19.487
It was above a pub, so you couldn't really argue.
00:02:19.800 --> 00:02:23.211
Yeah, and cheap old pints of Guinness as well that they're doing during their happy hour.
00:02:23.211 --> 00:02:30.489
Friday we had a decent amount and I got struck down on Saturday with something on your birthday, which I felt bad for.
00:02:30.489 --> 00:02:33.825
But the body was aching, the neck was stiff and sore.
00:02:33.825 --> 00:02:40.727
I resorted to a Lemsip in a pub, which was some questionable tactics.
00:02:40.727 --> 00:02:46.008
But on the Saturday, oh no, on the Friday, sorry, we went along to the AFL, didn't we?
00:02:46.008 --> 00:02:46.468
We went to watch.
00:02:46.468 --> 00:02:46.808
Who was it?
00:02:46.808 --> 00:02:49.394
Essendon Bombers against the Western Bulldogs.
00:02:49.394 --> 00:02:53.430
What's your thoughts on Aussie rules?
00:02:54.584 --> 00:02:55.206
I like Aussie rules.
00:02:55.206 --> 00:03:02.050
As I said, I grew up playing Gaelic, so the transition is there Sometimes.
00:03:02.050 --> 00:03:04.284
If it's on, I'll watch it and and whatnot.
00:03:04.284 --> 00:03:07.300
But yeah, that was just not a good game.
00:03:07.300 --> 00:03:09.125
I think we chose the worst game to go to.
00:03:09.145 --> 00:03:36.939
To be honest, it doesn't help that when we, when we got in there, um, I cracked a little joke to the people in front of us and they started chuckling about how terrible the standard was, and we found out that essendon apparently had lost a significant number of players through injury and, although, although not bottom of the ladder, they were probably the worst formed team and the final score ended up being 50 to 143, which I think in any terms is an absolute shelling.
00:03:37.241 --> 00:03:49.683
But at the stadium on the Sunday I don't know if you've seen this on social media this clip popped up of the St saint kilda whatever their name is saint kilda against melbourne.
00:03:49.683 --> 00:03:53.997
They were 46 points down at the end of third, was it?
00:03:53.997 --> 00:03:56.062
They've basically going into the final quarter.
00:03:56.062 --> 00:03:57.867
They came back and won it on the buzzer.
00:03:57.867 --> 00:03:58.530
Love that.
00:03:58.530 --> 00:04:00.967
Watch the last two minutes looks absolutely incredible.
00:04:00.967 --> 00:04:01.931
So I think there is.
00:04:01.931 --> 00:04:02.514
There are.
00:04:02.895 --> 00:04:11.689
I suppose it's with any sport you can go along and watch terrible fixtures, or you can go and see fantastic ones, but unfortunately the one that we saw at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.
00:04:12.901 --> 00:04:13.784
Just wasn't the pick of them.
00:04:14.060 --> 00:04:17.588
Not the first game this weekend that we left early oh.
00:04:18.411 --> 00:04:19.372
God, we'll get on to that.
00:04:19.519 --> 00:04:21.427
We'll get on to the other one later.
00:04:21.427 --> 00:04:24.004
But yeah, AFL, do you know what?
00:04:24.004 --> 00:04:25.569
I think there's some phenomenal athletes in the sport.
00:04:25.588 --> 00:04:26.752
Oh yeah, incredible, incredible.
00:04:27.442 --> 00:04:30.769
And it produces some highlight reel moments when they go up for marks.
00:04:30.769 --> 00:04:40.024
The one for the guy from St Kilda that leapt off the back of someone to get a mark with 20 odd seconds to go to tie it up was pretty impressive.
00:04:40.024 --> 00:04:45.964
But yeah, I don't get what's going on.
00:04:45.964 --> 00:04:51.951
When it's like they're trying to tackle and some of the fouls that are going on, it's a bit confusing, but they're absolute athletes, they're guns of athletes, I can't deny them that.
00:04:51.951 --> 00:04:53.213
But the big one.
00:04:53.254 --> 00:05:03.223
The Saturday second test, unreal absolutely unreal what did you think about the presence of Lions supporters in Melbourne compared to when we were in?
00:05:03.242 --> 00:05:04.125
Brisbane the week before.
00:05:04.125 --> 00:05:11.826
We thought when we got there that it wasn't going to be as bad because of how more spread out Melbourne is, but you could just see them everywhere.
00:05:11.826 --> 00:05:12.908
Again, it's just.
00:05:12.908 --> 00:05:19.427
I went for a run at work and I was running around Pyrmont and back.
00:05:19.427 --> 00:05:22.079
I saw like lines.
00:05:22.079 --> 00:05:23.666
I must have seen about five or six lines.
00:05:24.060 --> 00:05:29.666
I read something just a minute ago, just before we started recording, that a fair number of flights have been cancelled from Melbourne because of the winds.
00:05:29.961 --> 00:05:31.762
So there's some people that are going to be rolling in late.
00:05:31.762 --> 00:05:33.088
There's going to be some more people arriving.
00:05:33.199 --> 00:05:34.939
Oh yeah, and I nearly didn't make it on the plane back here did I?
00:05:35.964 --> 00:05:36.588
No, you didn't.
00:05:47.220 --> 00:05:47.560
That could.
00:05:47.560 --> 00:05:51.776
We took it easier, obviously, because I was feeling absolutely rank, but we took a walk down to South Bank and it got a bit livelier down there, didn't it?
00:05:51.797 --> 00:05:54.887
Yeah, yeah, it was good, it was good Managed to get into one of the pubs down there.
00:05:54.887 --> 00:05:58.028
It was just a sea of red in every pub.
00:05:58.209 --> 00:05:58.410
Yeah.
00:05:58.410 --> 00:06:02.709
Which was quite cool I think we were with maybe the only two Wallabies supporters.
00:06:03.521 --> 00:06:04.824
Within a 500-meter radius.
00:06:04.845 --> 00:06:05.889
Yeah, the gaff they were in.
00:06:05.889 --> 00:06:17.160
It was one of the dads of the kids that I go to school with and his old man, and he was telling me stories about how he was seeing the Lions series back since like 79 and stuff like that.
00:06:17.220 --> 00:06:18.564
Yeah, it was like what.
00:06:18.564 --> 00:06:19.408
Was it eighth?
00:06:19.408 --> 00:06:23.444
No, it must have been more than that, like he's watched a lot of them.
00:06:25.228 --> 00:06:26.411
He wasn't impressed with this tour.
00:06:27.482 --> 00:06:28.886
I think it was the eighth one in Australia.
00:06:28.886 --> 00:06:38.771
I think he said he's watched, yeah, but anyway, yeah, it was quite cool just chatting away with them having a few beers just making our way to the G, yeah.
00:06:39.019 --> 00:06:40.886
Nice to walk in along the river.
00:06:41.226 --> 00:06:49.040
Yeah, it was, it was and getting in there it was.
00:06:49.060 --> 00:06:52.713
it wasn't getting in there, it was just the the show, the pre pre-match, everything was just just awesome.
00:06:52.713 --> 00:06:57.627
It gave me goosebumps kind of the build like don't get me wrong the build up at the sun court because of the, the tight environment.
00:06:57.627 --> 00:06:58.992
It was incredible.
00:06:58.992 --> 00:07:03.048
But for those, how many of them were there?
00:07:03.048 --> 00:07:13.709
46 plus staff like everything walking out to the fireworks, the flames, the noise of the crowd, and they're slightly on an uphill slope as well.
00:07:13.709 --> 00:07:14.985
So you're coming out and you're seeing it all.
00:07:14.985 --> 00:07:16.899
It must have been absolutely phenomenal.
00:07:17.322 --> 00:07:19.108
If I was playing, I doubt I would have made it up that ramp.
00:07:19.108 --> 00:07:22.329
I think my legs would have given way, knees would have been knocking, they would have been like jelly.
00:07:22.509 --> 00:07:23.550
The world would have been knocking.
00:07:23.550 --> 00:07:25.372
The world would have fallen out of my backside before the game as well.
00:07:25.494 --> 00:07:34.249
I'm telling you that was some build up, and I mean look, I've got to give it to them the first two tests.
00:07:34.249 --> 00:07:35.755
The build up has been incredible.
00:07:35.755 --> 00:07:42.220
I'm really looking forward to what the old the Olympic Stadium can do, because that's got it's light shows.
00:07:42.220 --> 00:07:46.528
It's got it's massive LED screens as well.
00:07:47.783 --> 00:07:49.048
So it'll be interesting if they can follow.
00:07:49.048 --> 00:07:49.980
Not that I.
00:07:49.980 --> 00:07:55.434
I mean I would have liked a third game in the series that could be competitive.
00:07:55.434 --> 00:08:00.168
I think it would have gone up a level if it would have been 1-1 going into third.
00:08:00.168 --> 00:08:01.088
But we're getting to the game.
00:08:01.088 --> 00:08:03.934
We were in shock.
00:08:03.934 --> 00:08:06.543
Yeah, we're sitting there.
00:08:06.543 --> 00:08:08.430
Not a clue what was going on.
00:08:08.771 --> 00:08:10.824
No, and they got handed to the Wallabies.
00:08:10.824 --> 00:08:11.887
They came out swinging.
00:08:12.168 --> 00:08:12.249
Yeah.
00:08:12.480 --> 00:08:13.846
And they did extremely well.
00:08:13.846 --> 00:08:17.790
Lions were just poor, couldn't match the physicality of it Mistakes.
00:08:17.790 --> 00:08:25.928
Valentini and Skelton were difference makers, I think having just two absolute animals and brutes.
00:08:26.279 --> 00:08:28.168
The way Valentini was carrying the ball as well.
00:08:28.168 --> 00:08:29.404
It was hard.
00:08:29.404 --> 00:08:31.107
He was running, he was into contact.
00:08:31.107 --> 00:08:36.544
He's a doubt, though, for the game three, which is, which is a massive shame.
00:08:36.765 --> 00:08:37.147
Yeah, it's not.
00:08:37.147 --> 00:08:39.860
I think he was out of his calf before, but it's his knee.
00:08:39.860 --> 00:08:50.059
But Skelton, big boy Gies, is enormous, like Toge's, not a small man, and he had him round the throat like he was tiny, like a kid, absolutely bonkers.
00:08:50.059 --> 00:08:54.145
But largest ever comeback by a Lions team in a test match.
00:08:54.145 --> 00:08:54.788
What were they down?
00:08:54.788 --> 00:08:56.182
They were 18 points down.
00:08:56.182 --> 00:09:00.472
You could see it happening, though you could.
00:09:00.472 --> 00:09:04.990
If the Lions didn't score those two tries before halftime, I don't think it would have happened.
00:09:04.990 --> 00:09:09.759
And I believe the Wallabies just ran out of gas for that last five minutes.
00:09:09.759 --> 00:09:13.530
They put it all into playing with a man up.
00:09:13.530 --> 00:09:23.070
They put everything they could into it and I think Joseph Suoli showed to world rugby by his performance what he can do when he's got some space.
00:09:23.070 --> 00:09:29.144
And if it wasn't for Ben Curry's tackle, which was a game-changing moment because that was coming towards us that was in the second half, wasn't it?
00:09:29.144 --> 00:09:34.465
If he doesn't come from behind and take him down, the Wallabies go on and win that.
00:09:34.465 --> 00:09:37.663
And he had Ben Curry again Ben Curry.
00:09:37.803 --> 00:09:38.346
Tom Curry.
00:09:39.159 --> 00:09:40.501
Why was I thinking Ben Curry?
00:09:40.501 --> 00:09:42.003
It's his brother.
00:09:42.003 --> 00:09:56.436
Tom Curry had an absolute fantastic game yet again, as well as Burn Tag, burn Yep, another phenomenal performance, and I think the front, the pack and the replacement front row that came on.
00:09:56.456 --> 00:09:57.096
Yeah, you could see.
00:09:57.096 --> 00:09:58.057
You could see the difference.
00:09:58.057 --> 00:10:15.538
You can see what everyone was talking about Cause that was just, it was such an impactful sort of substitutions and and coming onto the and coming on, and you've got the likes of Genge coming on, who just adds a different level and he dominated in the first game as well and, I reckon, every penalty.
00:10:16.833 --> 00:10:19.248
If the Lions could get a scrum, they would have got a scrum.
00:10:19.248 --> 00:10:25.488
I think the referee was a little bit lenient at times to the Aussies because there was some dominating pushes by the Lions.
00:10:25.889 --> 00:10:28.528
Oh, true, they did come up quite early quite a few times.
00:10:28.659 --> 00:10:38.447
So I don't know because I haven't watched it back, but from where we were it looked like the Lions were dominating the scrum in that second half and I think there could have been a lot more penalties from it.
00:10:38.447 --> 00:10:41.690
But I think the ref had a little bit more leniency on it, yeah.
00:10:42.029 --> 00:11:03.547
And it comes back to what I said around when I listened to Ronan O'Gara before the first test and he was saying about making sure you have a strong bench because test deciders are usually within the last 12 minutes and it proved its worth in kind of them coming on, Jack Morgan coming on and clearing out at the end.
00:11:03.547 --> 00:11:05.171
But on that decision, what do you reckon?
00:11:06.801 --> 00:11:08.126
I've watched it back so many times.
00:11:08.126 --> 00:11:15.706
You said it incredibly well that I don't think there's been a more controversial 50-50 moment in any sport.
00:11:15.706 --> 00:11:27.350
Because you look at the laws, the laws say that you can't put pressure on the neck, but from what I saw, his head gets underneath the jackal.
00:11:27.350 --> 00:11:32.200
I can't remember his name off the top of my head Tizani I think it was.
00:11:32.841 --> 00:11:36.511
And then he pushes like it's a scrum and then pushes him back.
00:11:36.511 --> 00:11:45.847
So obviously there is going to be contact with, in some sort of way with the back of the neck, but it's not shoulder straight into the back of the neck, which is what that law refers to.
00:11:47.059 --> 00:11:47.201
He's.
00:11:47.201 --> 00:11:55.821
Also when he's jacking, he's lowering his head down to kind of go over the ball, which your head's not meant to be below your hips, so look.
00:11:55.821 --> 00:12:04.304
I believe it could have been given either way and I think if it's given, lions fans are outraged and Wallabies are saying it's the right decision.
00:12:04.304 --> 00:12:09.961
If it's not given, like it wasn't, lions fans are saying it's the right decision and Wallabies fans are outraged, like it's just.
00:12:09.961 --> 00:12:15.749
It is one of, like you said, it's one of the most game-deciding, controversial calls.
00:12:15.899 --> 00:12:23.647
It would have been really interesting to see what the Wallabies would have chosen to do if they had, if it was the penalty, because the time would have been stopped.
00:12:23.647 --> 00:12:29.696
So the options would have been kick, scrum or I don't know run it Probably, just boot it away.
00:12:29.696 --> 00:12:30.522
Boot it away.
00:12:30.522 --> 00:12:36.590
But then they have a line out which they could lose, which then gives the ball to the Lions to then try and get back up the field.
00:12:36.590 --> 00:12:41.919
But then, if they choose, to the scrum, the option of losing it quite early would have been there.
00:12:42.080 --> 00:12:46.469
So do you just risk it and run it and just try and beat breakdown after breakdown.
00:12:46.469 --> 00:12:48.634
So it would have been interesting what the decision would have been there.
00:12:48.634 --> 00:13:05.841
But I reckon if you dive into the ins and outs of a ruck you can have a penalty pretty much every ruck, I reckon 100% every clear out, and Martin Johnson said it as that and you probably could have picked penalties.
00:13:05.861 --> 00:13:10.144
James haskell even said it as well, that if you're giving that, you've got to give a penalty every right.
00:13:10.144 --> 00:13:13.534
But phenomenal, phenomenal outcome.
00:13:13.534 --> 00:13:15.039
Lions win the series already.
00:13:15.039 --> 00:13:23.524
Um coming into third, got something to do about 100, winning it all, three out of three and tests nine out of nine victories.
00:13:23.544 --> 00:13:27.105
It's only going to be 100% in Australia, though, because they lost to Argentina.
00:13:27.105 --> 00:13:28.735
Yeah, all right, All right.
00:13:28.895 --> 00:13:29.438
I'll give you that.
00:13:29.922 --> 00:13:30.886
Because I thought that earlier.
00:13:30.886 --> 00:13:31.994
It's like is the crown?
00:13:31.994 --> 00:13:32.879
Is it diminished?
00:13:32.879 --> 00:13:35.746
Is there a dent in the crown because they lost to Argentina?
00:13:36.039 --> 00:13:37.163
Nah, I don't think so.
00:13:37.163 --> 00:13:45.543
They're not undefeated, but you can give.
00:13:45.543 --> 00:13:46.731
But looking forward to Sydney, how do you reckon it will go?
00:13:46.731 --> 00:13:47.840
I feel there's going to be a bit of rotation.
00:13:47.840 --> 00:13:49.826
I think we might see a.
00:13:49.866 --> 00:13:53.229
I don't think there's going to be as heavy a rotation as people think.
00:13:53.229 --> 00:14:08.714
I think it's still going to be an extremely strong, like test team, because I reckon they want to, they want to win it, and they want to win it and they want to win 3-0 saying that the bench could like look like, or Benal could start.
00:14:09.258 --> 00:14:11.586
I reckon Pollock could be on the bench.
00:14:11.586 --> 00:14:16.509
You could have Owen Farrell starting and then Jones to a plot.
00:14:16.509 --> 00:14:16.912
Who may?
00:14:16.993 --> 00:14:17.576
be, I think.
00:14:17.576 --> 00:14:25.764
To be honest, I didn't see much of Bundiaki, so you've got a rotation of Farrell to a plot and Jones, probably in the centres for me.
00:14:26.586 --> 00:14:27.006
I agree.
00:14:27.006 --> 00:14:31.436
It'll be interesting to see how it goes, but looking forward to it, of course, I don't think this one's a sellout.
00:14:31.436 --> 00:14:33.894
Actually, I think there's still going to be 80 plus thousand there.
00:14:33.894 --> 00:14:34.419
It's still going to be.
00:14:34.419 --> 00:14:35.524
Oh, that's another thing.
00:14:35.524 --> 00:14:40.607
We were part of the largest crowd to ever bit of history.
00:14:40.607 --> 00:14:45.961
Can't go wrong with that, um, but at the moment feels like it's going to be a tight game.
00:14:45.961 --> 00:14:48.044
It looked like they're on the beers already.
00:14:48.044 --> 00:14:48.767
Not gonna lie.
00:14:48.767 --> 00:14:54.534
Look like they were celebrating on the beers, um might start well, might be on our beers ourselves.
00:14:54.556 --> 00:14:59.431
Start our own little pub crawl from the uh top of the northern beaches all the way down to the stadium, that is very true.
00:14:59.451 --> 00:15:04.471
Got a friend over from the uk so got a show on the sites of DYRSL Brookvale.
00:15:04.471 --> 00:15:07.679
Where else do we plan on going, manly?
00:15:09.043 --> 00:15:09.264
go.
00:15:09.304 --> 00:15:10.909
Four Pines get Light Rail across.
00:15:10.909 --> 00:15:14.086
Let's hope we remember some of the game we'll report.
00:15:14.086 --> 00:15:15.548
We'll report back next week.
00:15:15.690 --> 00:15:30.621
This is the thing we've discussed is memory wise, I'll be sober at games and don't remember much of the action it's quite an interesting one so it goes on to the nrl and look, there's a couple of fixtures that I don't one fixture in particular that we might skip over.
00:15:30.621 --> 00:15:35.073
But, um, some big upsets this week, some huge upsets.
00:15:35.073 --> 00:15:45.081
But we'll kick it off by going down to the gio stadium, where the raiders were held quite, quite tightly at halftime by the newcastle knights.
00:15:45.081 --> 00:15:46.981
And then they do what they do, isn't this?
00:15:47.001 --> 00:15:50.866
what we said last week they're going to have one half, which is just going to be too good for the Knights.
00:15:50.866 --> 00:15:55.109
It was the second half where they go and score 24 unanswered points.
00:15:55.440 --> 00:16:00.767
Nine straight on the bounce, Absolutely in form red hot team at the moment.
00:16:00.767 --> 00:16:02.043
Imagine if they played two hours of rugby.
00:16:02.043 --> 00:16:03.285
How good they would be.
00:16:03.285 --> 00:16:04.307
They could be dangerous.
00:16:04.307 --> 00:16:06.072
They could be very, very dangerous.
00:16:06.072 --> 00:16:09.698
But what is a real positive sign after what we saw on Sunday?
00:16:09.698 --> 00:16:28.662
Seeing Jamal Fogarty have an absolute ball game and booting the ball into orbit, having time for everyone to get down there and just being creative, opening things up, just commanding the ship, looking forward to him being at Manly next year, but Raiders.
00:16:31.184 --> 00:16:31.687
Knights, do man?
00:16:32.100 --> 00:16:37.284
No, I was going to say Raiders, the fact that we said they're guaranteed for the minor premiership.
00:16:37.284 --> 00:16:41.208
Are they now near enough?
00:16:41.208 --> 00:16:45.427
Not guaranteed, because nothing's guaranteed in life, but are they favourites for the premiership?
00:16:45.427 --> 00:16:45.519
I?
00:16:45.539 --> 00:16:52.530
think the only other team who's in the form of winning well is the Panthers, which we'll talk on a little bit later.
00:16:52.530 --> 00:16:59.466
Yeah, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's depending on how the table finishes and if it allows, it would be a Raiders premiership final.
00:16:59.961 --> 00:17:00.605
We'll see how it goes.
00:17:00.605 --> 00:17:01.642
But Knights look they.
00:17:01.642 --> 00:17:02.123
We'll see how it goes.
00:17:02.123 --> 00:17:04.327
But Knights, look, they kept themselves in it up until a point they weren't too bad.
00:17:04.327 --> 00:17:06.613
But I think they're just going to limp to the end of the season.
00:17:06.613 --> 00:17:06.772
Now.
00:17:06.772 --> 00:17:08.846
Try not to finish in the bottom half.
00:17:08.846 --> 00:17:10.205
Have a respectable season's end.
00:17:10.205 --> 00:17:12.373
Yep, I agree with that, go from there.
00:17:12.373 --> 00:17:17.332
But a game that, look, we could skip over and just say well done Dogs.
00:17:17.332 --> 00:17:22.626
But I think we should dissect it a bit and talk about what went well, but what went?
00:17:22.666 --> 00:17:23.186
wrong for Manning.
00:17:23.207 --> 00:17:24.568
First of all, I've got to give it to Dogs fans.
00:17:24.568 --> 00:17:29.375
That is probably the best league atmosphere I've been a part of.
00:17:29.375 --> 00:17:29.976
They were loud.
00:17:29.976 --> 00:17:33.750
The noise they made when Garrick missed his conversion was like they'd just scored.
00:17:35.461 --> 00:17:45.546
They got their 1,000th win as well this weekend, and it was in front of the 30th year anniversary of their 1995, which they won against Manly, I believe.
00:17:45.800 --> 00:17:48.505
What do you think of that Celebrating?
00:17:48.707 --> 00:17:51.839
I was disappointed with the amount of people that are out on the pitch walking around.
00:17:51.839 --> 00:17:54.868
There was only 8 people maybe, or 9, 10 or 11.
00:17:54.868 --> 00:17:55.859
There wasn't that many people.
00:17:55.859 --> 00:17:56.911
Obviously I don't know the ages.
00:17:56.911 --> 00:17:57.660
There could have been circumstances.
00:17:57.700 --> 00:18:02.669
But now, as in celebrating a league from 30 years ago, is that the only league they've won?
00:18:02.669 --> 00:18:06.410
No, because they won it with James Graham and all that.
00:18:06.640 --> 00:18:09.990
So did they win it with James Graham?
00:18:09.990 --> 00:18:11.174
I don't think he won a premiership.
00:18:11.194 --> 00:18:12.038
They got to the final.
00:18:12.038 --> 00:18:14.144
Okay, that's what I'm on, but I believe they have won it.
00:18:14.223 --> 00:18:16.872
since I don't know, I'm not too sure about it.
00:18:16.872 --> 00:18:17.846
I'm thinking of the James.
00:18:17.866 --> 00:18:26.184
Graham Rabbit O's yeah On Sam we were there half time.
00:18:27.146 --> 00:18:31.923
We thought we were in it and it was a strong defensive performance from manly up until half time.
00:18:31.923 --> 00:18:48.107
One person that I have to give massive props to, big Matty Lodge ah the guy was running with such intent, he, he he was bouncing people off like he's so good he he's a prop those first 11 weeks.
00:18:48.167 --> 00:18:52.392
I reckon we could have the games that we lost closely against the Dragons.
00:18:52.392 --> 00:18:59.960
If we had Matty Lodge in there as a in prop, I reckon it could have been a different ball game he's just, he's just froze.
00:18:59.960 --> 00:19:02.445
He was the only forward that got over 100 metres as well.
00:19:03.107 --> 00:19:07.806
Takiyaho, though, like you said last week, bounces off of him when if he's having a physical game.
00:19:07.806 --> 00:19:08.869
Takiyaho then goes in.
00:19:08.869 --> 00:19:10.663
They both had a strong.
00:19:10.663 --> 00:19:11.345
What?
00:19:11.345 --> 00:19:14.692
Was it 15, 20 minutes to the game and they set the tone.
00:19:14.692 --> 00:19:16.287
Look, we weren't great going forward.
00:19:16.287 --> 00:19:22.888
We got one try just before the half, which was probably from like our third visit to the red zone.
00:19:22.888 --> 00:19:29.682
But a man that's kind of been under a bit of scrutiny and question marks is Jason Saab, under the hype.
00:19:29.682 --> 00:19:30.928
Why is he dropping that?
00:19:32.241 --> 00:19:33.788
To be fair, we said it at the time as well.
00:19:33.788 --> 00:19:35.708
It was the easiest out of a few that he dropped.
00:19:35.839 --> 00:19:40.086
He ran onto one over his shoulder that he caught perfectly fine two minutes later.
00:19:40.086 --> 00:19:44.727
But he drops the first try and it wasn't Max King, it was the other prop that went over.
00:19:45.039 --> 00:19:45.621
I thought it was Max King.
00:19:45.621 --> 00:19:46.523
No, it was the other prop that went over.
00:19:46.523 --> 00:19:47.266
Oh, was it my I thought it was my.
00:19:47.286 --> 00:19:49.069
Nah, it was the other one that went over.
00:19:49.069 --> 00:19:50.974
But we just after halftime.
00:19:50.974 --> 00:19:52.526
It was mistakes that cost us.
00:19:52.526 --> 00:19:57.089
Yeah, stupid like Kola trying to or Hoppawattie trying to whip it out to Kolo who wasn't there.
00:19:57.089 --> 00:20:07.009
Garrick missed the tackle on fifth tackle and they go over, and at that point ramped up and then look, they were very good.
00:20:07.009 --> 00:20:09.885
Can't take anything away from the Bulldogs, they absolutely punished Manly.
00:20:09.885 --> 00:20:21.500
But bit of disappointing news come out of the game Hamoli Olokowatu out for the rest of the season read a stat, didn't I on the Saturday that 50.
00:20:21.780 --> 00:20:26.942
It's a 50-50 chance to whether you're gonna re-dislocate your shoulder like you need surgery.
00:20:26.942 --> 00:20:29.449
And I mean I've heard whether you're going to re-dislocate your shoulder you need surgery.
00:20:29.449 --> 00:20:32.176
I mean I've heard another stat say it was like a 90% chance.
00:20:32.176 --> 00:20:34.520
So it's one of those things.
00:20:34.520 --> 00:20:43.487
But I hope it doesn't end up what seems like how Josh Aloaez has, where it's just repeating, repeating repeating that would be such a massive loss to the game.
00:20:43.527 --> 00:20:43.867
if he is.
00:20:44.200 --> 00:20:45.968
He needs to take time and rehab.
00:20:45.968 --> 00:20:48.700
But what do you think this does to Manly's season?
00:20:49.122 --> 00:20:58.144
we're 9th now, roosters next week, raiders the week after if Manly lose to the Roosters, that's it all done and dusted.
00:20:58.144 --> 00:21:04.339
I think there's a glimmer, I hope, outside of that nothing yeah, I agree.
00:21:04.461 --> 00:21:05.439
And then onto the Roosters.
00:21:05.439 --> 00:21:10.069
Let's move on, otherwise we're going to end up sounding too negative.
00:21:10.069 --> 00:21:11.526
But look good, first half performance.
00:21:12.923 --> 00:21:13.344
Again.
00:21:13.344 --> 00:21:15.342
Manly were in it Again.
00:21:15.342 --> 00:21:16.948
We've talked about it all fucking season.
00:21:16.948 --> 00:21:25.942
If they were more clinical going forward, I reckon Manly could have been up at half and it could have been a different game and if he weren't booting the ball down Tracy's throat he's so good down the Tracy's throat.
00:21:25.942 --> 00:21:31.845
He's so good like DC is so good at finding the fullback yeah, the fullback great 40-20, though yeah, on real 40-20.
00:21:31.845 --> 00:21:35.327
Give him that the fullback could be sat in the crowd and you'll still find him.
00:21:35.327 --> 00:21:37.859
Yeah, it's mental.
00:21:38.240 --> 00:21:39.044
I couldn't believe it.
00:21:39.044 --> 00:21:43.281
Every single time it just seemed to be rammed down his throat and even and it's just.
00:21:43.682 --> 00:21:47.188
it's just such a trajectory angle as well.
00:21:47.188 --> 00:21:50.292
There's no height on it, it's just looped straight into it anyway.
00:21:51.433 --> 00:21:58.128
Moving on, the Melbourne Storm overcome the Sydney Roosters 34 points to 30.
00:21:58.128 --> 00:22:01.488
And this was a great comeback by the Roosters.
00:22:01.508 --> 00:22:02.791
Yeah, it was, they dug deep.
00:22:03.601 --> 00:22:05.890
Oh, Angus Crichton was on our flight, wasn't he To Melbourne?
00:22:05.890 --> 00:22:07.096
Forgot about that on the Friday.
00:22:07.096 --> 00:22:07.723
Big Angus Heon was on our flight.
00:22:07.723 --> 00:22:08.164
Wasn't he To Melbourne?
00:22:08.164 --> 00:22:08.746
Forgot about that on the Friday, Big Angus.
00:22:09.339 --> 00:22:10.853
He looked very Melbourney as well, didn't he?
00:22:10.893 --> 00:22:16.943
He did look very Melbourney, his oversized jeans and the old hat that he had on, but A lot taller than I was expecting.
00:22:16.943 --> 00:22:19.411
Big boy, he's a big lad, he is a big lad.
00:22:19.411 --> 00:22:23.509
But yeah, storm, come out on top in a close one.
00:22:23.509 --> 00:22:24.191
If I'm honest.
00:22:24.191 --> 00:22:25.093
When was this Thursday?
00:22:25.093 --> 00:22:25.554
This game?
00:22:25.554 --> 00:22:27.278
Yeah, memory of it's hazy.
00:22:27.278 --> 00:22:31.884
Lots gone on since then, but I remember thinking Rooster's gonna actually do this well again.
00:22:31.944 --> 00:22:49.864
It's just that unconvincing away form by the storm I know I've tried to, I've suppose I've shown a little bit of consistency in my understanding of the storm is they just don't click and it's the players, it's the talent within the team that's getting them over.
00:22:49.864 --> 00:22:54.327
I think They've got to sort this out.
00:22:54.327 --> 00:22:58.932
You can't be shipping 30 points in a playoff game.
00:22:58.932 --> 00:23:01.547
It's criminal.
00:23:02.042 --> 00:23:09.345
These bigger games are starting to feel like finals football, and from that Jerome Hughes might be missing for some of their finals football.
00:23:09.345 --> 00:23:10.588
Big loss, huge loss.
00:23:10.950 --> 00:23:14.248
Huge loss and he's instrumental through it all.
00:23:14.248 --> 00:23:16.288
And that's what I say about the talent brings it through.
00:23:16.288 --> 00:23:25.108
It's his play that changes games and you look at a team which they didn't really.
00:23:25.108 --> 00:23:30.579
You had Nwengen Itawase up against Xavier Coates.
00:23:30.700 --> 00:23:35.511
which sort of Cancelled, each other out Cancelled each other out.
00:23:35.599 --> 00:23:40.686
but then you got Daniel Tubbo, who you said yeah, gies is just unstoppable in the air.
00:23:40.988 --> 00:23:43.026
Different Absolute, different gravy in the air.
00:23:43.026 --> 00:23:45.989
If you send anything up, he's coming down with it.
00:23:45.989 --> 00:23:47.705
So fair play to him.
00:23:47.705 --> 00:23:51.868
But upset of the week, up next, I believe, the Broncos.
00:23:51.868 --> 00:23:53.732
Actually, no, I wouldn't say this is the upset of the week.
00:23:53.732 --> 00:23:55.486
Actually no, there's a bigger upset of the week.
00:23:55.486 --> 00:24:02.863
This is the second upset of the week this is the second biggest upset of the week Broncos defeated at home at the Suncorp by the.
00:24:02.942 --> 00:24:03.222
Eels.
00:24:03.222 --> 00:24:09.568
Well, we were chatting to a Broncos fan in the pool, weren't we on Friday before we played pool, and he said this is the first time they've got all their big six playing.
00:24:09.949 --> 00:24:11.931
Oh yeah, those boys yeah From the.
00:24:11.931 --> 00:24:12.490
Gold Coast.
00:24:12.490 --> 00:24:15.673
They just were shocking.
00:24:15.673 --> 00:24:17.035
They were absolutely shocking.
00:24:17.035 --> 00:24:17.434
Did we?
00:24:17.434 --> 00:24:19.596
I don't, we didn't watch much of this, did we?
00:24:21.319 --> 00:24:22.203
I can't really remember, to be honest.
00:24:22.203 --> 00:24:22.384
No, no, no.
00:24:22.443 --> 00:24:28.962
I can't really remember either, but I remember thinking, wow, they've stunned them.
00:24:28.962 --> 00:24:31.365
Moses, apparently was a difference, was he and you did?
00:24:31.404 --> 00:24:38.073
say that actually you did say that him being back was going to be a bit of a difference maker, but this is the thing with the Broncos.
00:24:38.492 --> 00:24:45.702
They'll scrape into the eight and they could show up and be the best team in the comp, or they could put on an absolute stink of a performance like this.
00:24:45.722 --> 00:24:46.705
But the thing is then the Eels on the flip side.
00:24:46.705 --> 00:24:49.231
They've got this in their locker, but where has it been all season?
00:24:49.231 --> 00:24:56.103
I know they've had injuries consistently and is it going to be a bit of a look back for the Eels and go?
00:24:56.103 --> 00:25:00.380
We've missed out on a decent looking season here, especially in a season where everyone was beating everyone.
00:25:00.380 --> 00:25:03.663
So it's like I think the Eels can look back and go.
00:25:03.663 --> 00:25:05.247
We've missed a good chance here.
00:25:05.547 --> 00:25:14.468
Yeah, I just don't think they've got enough, though, after the Dylan Brown, knowing that he's off, did he want to contribute any more?
00:25:16.002 --> 00:25:17.968
But we watched Paramaster rip Manly apart.
00:25:18.609 --> 00:25:19.352
This is very true.
00:25:20.040 --> 00:25:22.779
It's not hard to do, though it's not, yeah, as the dogs found out.
00:25:22.779 --> 00:25:31.673
But, as I said, the performances are there, and you can't go up to the Suncorp and put in a half-hearted shift and come away with a win.
00:25:31.673 --> 00:25:35.490
You've got to put in something to beat the Broncos at home, and they did Fair play to them.
00:25:38.320 --> 00:25:40.147
I don't know what to make of the Broncos, no.
00:25:40.147 --> 00:25:45.189
They're likely going to finish in the eight, but I don't know where they're going to get to.
00:25:45.189 --> 00:25:53.923
But a team that someone I don't know where they're going to get to, but a team that someone or a game that one of the guys that you just mentioned had seven grand could have potentially won seven grand.
00:25:54.305 --> 00:25:56.089
If, who was it?
00:25:56.089 --> 00:25:56.791
Shane Flanagan?
00:25:56.791 --> 00:26:04.109
No, carl Flanagan, his son, if he scored and he didn't, I think that's what made it such long odds.
00:26:04.109 --> 00:26:11.201
But he had what six try scorers or something like that on he just needed Shane Flanagan scoring.
00:26:11.201 --> 00:26:11.663
He didn't.
00:26:11.663 --> 00:26:17.867
But again another one that we were having a few beers on Friday night watched a little bit of this.
00:26:17.867 --> 00:26:26.280
Tom Dearden having an absolute game of it again since he got picked for Origin he seems to have stepped up his performances a little bit, doesn't he?
00:26:26.520 --> 00:26:31.873
Yeah, which is always good, but the Dragons again like another tight game that they've lost.
00:26:31.873 --> 00:26:36.069
They're losing games but they can't get over the line.
00:26:36.069 --> 00:26:42.573
I don't think their position on the ladder really reflects the sort of team they are.
00:26:42.573 --> 00:26:49.971
They should have more wins than they have, but the Cowboys seem to be at the moment putting points up for a bit of fun.
00:26:50.400 --> 00:27:01.390
Yeah, and it's interesting because the Eels and the Dragons are going to be one of those teams to watch for next season when they have an off-season together and possibly bring in some.
00:27:01.390 --> 00:27:16.128
I reckon if the Eels bring in some big boys up front, some sort of skill makers, and then the Dragons just If they can keep Tupulatu fit out on the wing get Val Holmes back, like that's not a bad back line that they've got.
00:27:16.580 --> 00:27:17.917
Oh, he's had shoulder surgery as well.
00:27:17.917 --> 00:27:19.384
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how he comes back.
00:27:19.384 --> 00:27:20.548
But I look at the Dragons.
00:27:20.548 --> 00:27:29.326
So you look at the teams, you look at the Seagulls, Roosters, Cowboys, Dragons, even down to the Tigers and the Ills.
00:27:29.846 --> 00:27:35.090
There's not much form-wise splitting those teams, but then you get to even the Knights.
00:27:35.090 --> 00:27:41.275
I'd chuck in that it's very tight now to who's going to be there or thereabouts.
00:27:41.275 --> 00:27:48.815
I think there are some teams that have got too much to do, but it'd be interesting to see how it pans out.
00:27:48.815 --> 00:27:52.895
But the next game is the one that we're going to talk about that is the biggest upset of the week.
00:27:52.895 --> 00:28:00.788
We upped the wars, we wazzed up, we went the wars at home and the titans turned up and turned them over.
00:28:00.788 --> 00:28:02.192
They did they did.
00:28:02.452 --> 00:28:05.484
Kieran foran, fucking throwing back the years with hoyan passes left, right and center, like it's.
00:28:05.484 --> 00:28:09.271
Like it's christmas day there's has this job on the line and then all of a sudden they pull out a performance 500 game, fucking throwing back the ears with.
00:28:09.291 --> 00:28:21.334
Hoyne passes left, right and centre Like it's Christmas Day, dez has his job on the line and then all of a sudden they pull out a performance 500 game as well, Because we were watching this before the game and they just they looked like they bullied them.
00:28:21.334 --> 00:28:25.743
Yeah, you had the first three try scorers, didn't you?
00:28:25.743 --> 00:28:32.689
You had Halasimo went over Pompey and Jojo Fafita, and you just needed, ah, dwz.
00:28:33.141 --> 00:28:42.145
I just needed DWZ to go over and they never, looked like they were going to attack down his side either, which was bonkers, but it was two of us that went over for their other try.
00:28:42.145 --> 00:28:48.829
But I don't know, is a loss like this going to cost the Warriors?
00:28:48.829 --> 00:28:53.231
Are they going to be thinking of these results going into the finals.
00:28:54.241 --> 00:28:58.866
This is the sort of game that they have a tune-up game and they blow the Titans out of the water.
00:28:59.147 --> 00:28:59.449
Yeah.
00:28:59.779 --> 00:29:06.530
That's what you would expect Not to come in here and have a difficult performance.
00:29:06.530 --> 00:29:10.008
And you look at what the games that they've had sort of around.
00:29:10.008 --> 00:29:22.347
They got thumped by the Broncos and Panthers not that long ago, yes, but then you look at the beat the Tigers, they beat the Knights, but then they've come into this and lost to the Titans.
00:29:22.347 --> 00:29:25.539
It's like well, where's that consistency that you need in the finals?
00:29:25.539 --> 00:29:31.817
And they've got the Dolphins, dogs, dragons, titans again in the next three games.
00:29:31.837 --> 00:29:32.923
Four games Dolphins, dogs, dragons.
00:29:32.923 --> 00:29:33.905
That'll be a tough little run.
00:29:34.807 --> 00:29:37.708
It's not the easiest, considering a couple of them are away as well.
00:29:37.708 --> 00:29:39.801
You've got.
00:29:39.801 --> 00:29:42.308
They need to change it up.
00:29:42.308 --> 00:29:47.221
They need to find that killer instinct that they've had the whole of the start of the season.
00:29:47.442 --> 00:29:52.589
Yeah Well, they've got Manly last game before finals football, so we'll see how that one goes.
00:29:52.589 --> 00:29:53.490
It is at Brookie, though.
00:29:53.490 --> 00:29:56.095
It is at Brookie, so we'll see what happens, also losing Metcalf.
00:29:58.123 --> 00:30:12.669
Yeah, tanner Boyd has been all right, but maybe it's moments like this that he has lacked the composure to steer the ship and even last week to miss as many field goals as he did and then win it by fluke, really.
00:30:12.669 --> 00:30:15.807
So it seems like, yeah, the Metcalfe loss is costing them.
00:30:15.807 --> 00:30:22.327
Didn't watch any of this game the next time the Rabbitohs defeated by the Sharks 14-12.
00:30:22.327 --> 00:30:32.925
By everything that I've kind of read and feedback from it real boring game in which Jack Whiten took someone's head off and has been banned for two games.
00:30:32.925 --> 00:30:36.945
So things just go from bad to worse for the Rabbitohs.
00:30:37.762 --> 00:30:41.026
Talking about every other the Warriors and the Broncos.
00:30:41.026 --> 00:30:42.663
You look at the Sharks.
00:30:42.663 --> 00:30:44.925
Their last two victories ran away with it.
00:30:44.925 --> 00:30:46.644
And again you'd come into this one and you're like, oh, like, oh.
00:30:46.644 --> 00:31:10.166
Sharks easily run away with it if they're going off the form of recently and just again limp there a team that's fighting for the last places of the eight and it's like, well, you need to put in a decent shift to get that momentum to stay in the eight and then take it into the finals.
00:31:12.380 --> 00:31:13.002
Sharks are another one.
00:31:13.002 --> 00:31:13.926
I don't know what to make of it.
00:31:13.926 --> 00:31:18.307
All of a sudden it goes from like you're confident about teams that are going to turn up and perform.
00:31:18.307 --> 00:31:21.766
Then the Warriors end up losing, the Broncos end up losing.
00:31:21.766 --> 00:31:26.784
Sharks don't look convincing, but one team that is.
00:31:26.784 --> 00:31:27.789
We said this would be a cricket score.
00:31:27.809 --> 00:31:28.373
You said, this could Just win.
00:31:28.393 --> 00:31:29.579
Convincing yeah, but one team that is currently Fucking hell.
00:31:29.579 --> 00:31:31.335
We said this would be a cricket score.
00:31:31.335 --> 00:31:34.148
Yeah, you said this could be a cricket score, and 36 for two.
00:31:34.319 --> 00:31:36.247
I've seen England with that cricket score many a time.
00:31:36.288 --> 00:31:41.508
Exactly the way the English pronounce cricket scores or announce cricket scores is 36 for two.
00:31:41.508 --> 00:31:45.000
So seems like the Panthers just turned up Cleary's like.
00:31:45.000 --> 00:31:45.461
You know what.
00:31:45.461 --> 00:31:49.106
I've had enough of all this origin stuff being shouted about me.
00:31:49.106 --> 00:31:50.188
Did you see his kick through?
00:31:50.188 --> 00:31:51.309
No, the banana kick.
00:31:51.671 --> 00:31:53.553
Oh, something different.
00:31:53.553 --> 00:31:54.414
He's got it on a string.
00:31:54.414 --> 00:31:55.115
He's kicked it around.
00:31:55.115 --> 00:32:09.311
I can't remember whose try it was for, but he's kicked it around about three or a couple of defenders and it's hooked.
00:32:09.332 --> 00:32:14.884
The tigers they're on a bit of a downward spiral, but panthers are on the up, like there's no doubt about it.
00:32:14.884 --> 00:32:15.645
Don't write them off.
00:32:15.645 --> 00:32:20.726
Let's have a look at what they are for the premiership now down to five, but oh wow.
00:32:20.726 --> 00:32:26.604
So we're looking at the raiders, bulldogs and panthers, all at five dollars.
00:32:26.644 --> 00:32:29.211
And then the storm of the favourites Should have put money on them.
00:32:29.211 --> 00:32:30.645
When they were at what?
00:32:30.645 --> 00:32:32.243
40 were they?
00:32:32.243 --> 00:32:33.768
Yeah, or something like that.
00:32:34.048 --> 00:32:37.067
I wouldn't put the Storm as favourites at $325.
00:32:37.067 --> 00:32:40.259
Especially now that they've lost Hughes, I'd put them at $5.
00:32:40.259 --> 00:32:44.241
With the rest of them, I suppose you've got to have an out, well, you don't have an out and out favourite.
00:32:44.241 --> 00:32:47.002
But yeah, warriors have dropped down to $31.
00:32:47.002 --> 00:32:49.544
Broncos are at $11.
00:32:49.544 --> 00:32:50.924
Sharks at $19.
00:32:50.924 --> 00:32:53.046
So it's tightening up at the top.
00:32:53.046 --> 00:32:55.727
Raiders for me, I think, are still.
00:32:55.727 --> 00:32:59.469
If it works out, is it going to be a Raiders-Panthers final?
00:32:59.469 --> 00:33:04.431
That would be incredible, but let's get on to round 22.
00:33:04.711 --> 00:33:04.931
Yep.
00:33:05.892 --> 00:33:08.093
Up first Thursday night.
00:33:08.093 --> 00:33:08.833
We're going to be there.
00:33:08.833 --> 00:33:09.913
I'm going to be there.
00:33:09.913 --> 00:33:10.854
Sorry, I'm going to be there.
00:33:10.854 --> 00:33:15.596
In fact, I think half of the British and Irish Lions supporters might be there.
00:33:15.615 --> 00:33:16.557
There's going to be a sea of red.
00:33:17.017 --> 00:33:20.199
I know the hospitality seems sold out.
00:33:20.199 --> 00:33:31.806
So it appears that everyone's going to be going for the booze in the hospitality there's going to be an influx of brown shoes and jeans, blue jeans, jeans and shoes at the Combank on Thursday night 7.50pm.
00:33:31.806 --> 00:33:39.832
We have the caveat this is before team lists are being revealed, so we're just going to go off pure vibes, as we said last time.
00:33:39.892 --> 00:33:40.452
Pure vibes.
00:33:40.772 --> 00:33:47.397
So the Parramatta Eels at $3.62 against the Melbourne Storm at $1.29.
00:33:48.280 --> 00:33:49.063
Do you know what I'm going to go for?
00:33:49.063 --> 00:33:49.384
The Paramount.
00:33:49.965 --> 00:33:50.125
Eagles.
00:33:50.125 --> 00:33:51.250
You reckon they're going to do it.
00:33:51.250 --> 00:33:51.750
I don't know.
00:33:52.861 --> 00:34:01.086
Pat Combank Storm without Jerome Hughes are going to be a little bit lacklustred Mitch Moses, mitch Moses turning it on.
00:34:01.086 --> 00:34:04.869
I reckon both Lomax and Naderkar destroy the wings.
00:34:04.869 --> 00:34:12.047
Coates is going to not know what's hitting him and Parramatta Eels are going to win 32-6.
00:34:12.528 --> 00:34:17.648
I'm going to settle it down a little bit and I'm going to think the Storm are just going to Pure vibes.
00:34:17.648 --> 00:34:19.742
I'm just going to grind out a win in this one.
00:34:19.742 --> 00:34:25.086
Obviously, jerome Hughes is out, but it's Tyrone Wishart, I think that possibly comes in.
00:34:25.086 --> 00:34:27.626
So I still think they're too good.
00:34:27.626 --> 00:34:34.148
Whether Pappenhausen's back or not I know he's still coming back from injury, but for me it's got to be the Melbourne Storm.
00:34:34.708 --> 00:34:35.070
Fair play.
00:34:35.070 --> 00:34:42.059
And then we're back over in Auckland at the Go Media Stadium the Warriors at $1.72 against the Dolphins at $2.13.
00:34:42.059 --> 00:34:45.570
What a fixture, what a game If the Warriors turn up.
00:34:48.699 --> 00:34:49.762
If the Warriors turn up?
00:34:49.762 --> 00:34:50.967
If the Warriors turn up, that's a very, very good point.
00:34:50.967 --> 00:34:52.351
I don't think they will turn up, though.
00:34:52.351 --> 00:35:02.143
I think they go back-to-back losses at home against a team that scores for fun.
00:35:02.143 --> 00:35:03.485
I think the Dolphins get this one done.
00:35:03.485 --> 00:35:05.469
I think the Dolphins win one in New Zealand.
00:35:05.831 --> 00:35:06.612
Yeah, I'm going to go.
00:35:06.612 --> 00:35:07.373
I'm going to join you there.
00:35:07.373 --> 00:35:09.172
I'm going to go for the Dolphins win one in New Zealand.
00:35:09.172 --> 00:35:09.905
Yeah, I'm going to go, I'm going to join you there.
00:35:09.905 --> 00:35:11.048
I'm going to go for the Dolphins.
00:35:11.048 --> 00:35:12.143
I think the exact same reasons that you've just given, yeah.
00:35:13.039 --> 00:35:14.365
And then we go back to the Suncorp.
00:35:14.365 --> 00:35:15.202
On the Friday.
00:35:15.202 --> 00:35:24.913
We have the $1.19 Brisbane Broncos Some low odds there against the $4.70 South Sydney Rabbitohs.
00:35:27.420 --> 00:35:32.447
It's got to be the Broncos, surely, surely it's got to be the Broncos, it's got to be, it's got to be the.
00:35:32.467 --> 00:35:32.688
Broncos.
00:35:32.688 --> 00:35:33.210
It's got to be.
00:35:33.210 --> 00:35:33.751
There's no way.
00:35:33.751 --> 00:35:34.231
It can't be.
00:35:34.231 --> 00:35:36.507
The Rabbitohs have lost.
00:35:36.507 --> 00:35:37.826
They're just about to lose Jack White.
00:35:37.826 --> 00:35:39.585
Don't think anyone's coming back.
00:35:39.585 --> 00:35:44.422
Sean Keppy also might be making that one up LeSean Mitchell, he's still out.
00:35:44.422 --> 00:35:51.030
He's out for the season, I believe Broncos, yeah, all day, every day, yeah.
00:35:51.050 --> 00:35:53.434
Broncos and then Seabrook Stadium.
00:35:53.434 --> 00:35:58.539
First game on the Saturday We've got the Gold Coast Titans versus the Pembroke Panthers.
00:35:58.539 --> 00:36:00.407
Titans are at 445.
00:36:00.407 --> 00:36:02.146
Panthers are at 121.
00:36:02.146 --> 00:36:04.865
And this is before team lists have been sent out.
00:36:07.472 --> 00:36:14.706
Come on, the Panthers are in such a vain run of form, they don't lose this, they win it comfortably.
00:36:14.706 --> 00:36:16.887
Dez Hasler did well in the 500th.
00:36:16.887 --> 00:36:19.016
He does terrible in 5.01.
00:36:19.016 --> 00:36:21.356
Yeah, kieran Foran did well in his 500th.
00:36:21.789 --> 00:36:23.315
Kieran Foran doesn't do well in 5.01.
00:36:23.315 --> 00:36:23.797
No, no, no, no, no.
00:36:24.289 --> 00:36:25.815
I'm going to go with the Penrith Pampers in this one.
00:36:25.836 --> 00:36:31.318
Yeah, I agree, I think they're going to run away with it, I think they're just, they're not going to see anyone as a little speed bump.
00:36:43.210 --> 00:36:44.373
They're just going to kick them out to the side.
00:36:44.373 --> 00:36:45.036
Oh, we go down to Wollongong.
00:36:45.036 --> 00:36:49.429
Down in the gong we got the St George Illawarra Dragons at $2.74 against the Canberra Raiders at $1.46.
00:36:49.429 --> 00:36:51.856
Raiders, oh, the old Viking clap with the Raiders.
00:36:51.856 --> 00:36:54.318
Yeah, I do think this is going to be a little bit of a test for them.
00:36:54.318 --> 00:37:03.018
Okay, I don't think it's going to be as plain sailing, because the Dragons have been all right, but Viking claps all over the gaff.
00:37:03.018 --> 00:37:05.842
Raiders to win this one, love it.
00:37:13.976 --> 00:37:15.480
And then we are at Brookie Oval.
00:37:15.480 --> 00:37:17.083
Well, we won't be at Brookie Oval, we won't.
00:37:18.170 --> 00:37:19.889
We won't for the second time this season because of the British and Irish Lions.
00:37:20.309 --> 00:37:22.757
We'll be at what's it called Homebush.
00:37:23.197 --> 00:37:25.271
Alley, accor, accor, the Accor.
00:37:25.271 --> 00:37:29.036
How are Manly favourites in this?
00:37:29.811 --> 00:37:32.199
You can tell the team list hasn't been released.
00:37:32.492 --> 00:37:33.347
How are Manly favourites?
00:37:33.530 --> 00:37:40.170
You've got Manly at $1.65 against the Sydney Roosters at $2.24.
00:37:42.659 --> 00:37:59.577
I think it's going to be a good game okay if the physicality of Matt Lodge Takiyaho comes out, if Bully Moore again comes off the bench and runs hard, I think Talal has got to come in or Foulalo has got to come in for Saab.
00:37:59.577 --> 00:38:13.389
Yeah, he had scored decent try, great finish, but he's under the high ball and defensively Don't get me wrong he rocked Bronson Sherry on a hit and poor old Bronson Sherry taking the double boot of kick-outs to the face.
00:38:13.630 --> 00:38:15.157
I was like, I recognise that nose.
00:38:17.391 --> 00:38:18.637
I'm going to back the boys in this, though.
00:38:18.637 --> 00:38:22.079
Bounce back victory, get the train back on the tracks.
00:38:22.079 --> 00:38:24.880
I'm going to back the boys in this, though Bounce back victory, get the train back on the tracks.
00:38:24.900 --> 00:38:25.686
I'm going to go for the Manly Seagulls.
00:38:25.686 --> 00:38:26.248
Yeah, manly, I'm going to go.
00:38:26.248 --> 00:38:29.336
Manly, I just want to see Turbo have a good game.
00:38:29.336 --> 00:38:33.398
Yeah, if he's going to be fit, because apparently he was, was he yeah?
00:38:37.255 --> 00:38:38.516
He took a bit of a knocker apparently later on.
00:38:38.516 --> 00:38:39.197
Yeah, we will see.
00:38:39.197 --> 00:38:40.940
We go to the Combank.
00:38:40.940 --> 00:38:43.184
We've got the West Tigers 2-2.
00:38:43.184 --> 00:38:47.791
Where's my eyesight going with this one?
00:38:47.791 --> 00:38:53.840
$3.63 against the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs at $1.29.
00:38:53.860 --> 00:38:54.382
Do you know what?
00:38:54.382 --> 00:39:08.255
After seeing the Balmoral Barmy Army, I think they're going to just take over the Combank and they're going to absolutely take over Parramatta and they're going to take it over the West Tigers and absolutely destroy them.
00:39:08.255 --> 00:39:08.958
I'm going Bulldogs.
00:39:09.750 --> 00:39:17.992
They've been called the Balmoral, the Belmarsh, the Belmore, the Bulldogs, barmy Army are just going to absolutely pile through the West Tigers.
00:39:17.992 --> 00:39:22.760
I think they're going to pile through in the stands and I think the Bulldogs are going to absolutely pile through on the field as well.
00:39:22.760 --> 00:39:25.458
Feels like Tigers might have checked out a bit.
00:39:25.458 --> 00:39:34.956
Yeah, definitely, I think the Bulldogs win this and they win this big if they touch the surface of what they did against Manly they win this quite comfortably and do you know what?
00:39:35.192 --> 00:39:35.576
fixture?
00:39:35.576 --> 00:39:41.215
That's a lot, probably tighter due to the weekend's fixtures than could have been last week.
00:39:41.215 --> 00:39:46.304
We're at Shark Park for the $1.38 Sharks versus the $3.07 Cowboys.
00:39:49.192 --> 00:39:50.677
I think the Cowboys are going to win this.
00:39:50.677 --> 00:39:56.257
I believe they're in a bit of form, tommy Dearden doing well.
00:39:56.257 --> 00:40:01.215
And I'm going to go North Queensland Cowboys to beat the Cronulla Sharks.
00:40:07.201 --> 00:40:09.583
I'm going to end it on a disagreement and I'm going to go.
00:40:09.583 --> 00:40:12.585
The Sharks you reckon they're going to thumb in a softy and win it.
00:40:17.452 --> 00:40:18.693
Yeah, yeah, we'll see how that one goes.
00:40:18.713 --> 00:40:19.114
That is loyal.
00:40:19.114 --> 00:40:20.574
But yeah, I'm going to go for the Sharks.
00:40:21.034 --> 00:40:29.360
So another event that could have been climactic, but it ended in an anti-climax.
00:40:29.519 --> 00:40:29.719
Yeah.
00:40:30.521 --> 00:40:35.184
England against India in the cricket Ends into a draw, heads into a final test.
00:40:35.184 --> 00:40:36.704
England are winning the series 2-1.
00:40:37.045 --> 00:40:37.184
Yeah.
00:40:37.704 --> 00:40:38.846
Class batting performance.
00:40:39.545 --> 00:40:40.766
Just couldn't get it done with the ball.
00:40:40.947 --> 00:40:41.007
And.
00:40:41.047 --> 00:40:45.110
I think that was a testament to the wicket.
00:40:45.110 --> 00:40:50.050
To be honest, I think the wicket died out a little bit, but that's my worry, as I've said, is over here.
00:40:50.050 --> 00:40:55.130
When the pitches do die out with a softer Kukaburra ball, are England going to be able to take 20 wickets?
00:40:55.451 --> 00:40:58.697
when the ball starts to lose its ability to move drag.
00:40:58.697 --> 00:41:05.438
I was watching the opening hour maybe, or I missed that first half hour.
00:41:05.438 --> 00:41:09.702
So 45 minutes after that, when the new ball came in, wokes had it moving.
00:41:09.702 --> 00:41:10.864
It was just missing edges.
00:41:10.864 --> 00:41:14.360
It was just millimeters away from edges.
00:41:14.360 --> 00:41:20.152
And then Root dropped Jadeja on Archer's second ball after he'd just got.
00:41:20.152 --> 00:41:21.476
Was it Shipman Gill that he got?
00:41:21.476 --> 00:41:22.681
Yeah, swung at it.
00:41:22.681 --> 00:41:24.673
Things like that go our way.
00:41:24.673 --> 00:41:30.041
It might be different and if you can do a bit more damage with a new ball, but what do you reckon?
00:41:30.041 --> 00:41:33.496
What's your opinion of the old controversy at the end of the handshake?
00:41:37.219 --> 00:41:38.181
I'm siding with the Indians.
00:41:39.411 --> 00:41:41.492
Indian fans moaning, though you wouldn't have.
00:41:42.856 --> 00:41:44.081
I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
00:41:44.081 --> 00:41:50.556
I think the whole controversy stemmed around them not finishing the game early because there was going to be no result.
00:41:50.556 --> 00:41:53.036
But you've got two lads out there who could get their test hundreds.
00:41:53.250 --> 00:41:54.295
Like 100%.
00:41:54.610 --> 00:42:00.255
And if it riles you up as an England team, well, get them out.
00:42:00.255 --> 00:42:02.239
It should flip you the other side of going right.
00:42:02.239 --> 00:42:05.893
Boys, these have got the arrogance to think that they're going to score a ton against us.
00:42:05.893 --> 00:42:06.697
Let's get them out.
00:42:07.172 --> 00:42:16.617
But it didn't, and it just boiled over to be absolute handbags yeah, and the game kind of fizzled out and finished on a draw, early handshakes and it goes.
00:42:16.617 --> 00:42:19.052
Where is the fifth test, oval?
00:42:19.052 --> 00:42:20.976
The Oval moves about, doesn't it?
00:42:20.996 --> 00:42:25.474
the Oval a bit, so it'll be interesting to see Bumrah potentially might not be playing.
00:42:25.474 --> 00:42:29.748
Might not be playing, so we touch and go to see how that finishes.
00:42:29.748 --> 00:42:33.077
Hopefully it'll be rained out.
00:42:33.077 --> 00:42:36.233
Indians will start moaning again, like they love to do.
00:42:36.233 --> 00:42:44.543
But a good bit of good news to finish on the England's women's team win the Euros back-to-back.
00:42:44.710 --> 00:42:45.996
Back-to-back champions.
00:42:47.612 --> 00:42:52.208
Lionesses win it in a penalty shootout against Spain, left it late again.
00:42:52.208 --> 00:42:55.257
Yeah, how many of the games were won by penalty shootouts?
00:42:55.309 --> 00:42:59.112
I think, going into, I think, all the knockouts of penalty shootouts.
00:42:59.112 --> 00:43:01.936
I think the quarterfinals, semifinals and final were all penalty shootouts.
00:43:02.237 --> 00:43:03.634
Surely that's got to be some record as well.
00:43:04.170 --> 00:43:05.416
I think that was.
00:43:05.416 --> 00:43:13.257
But anyway, Chloe Kelly slotting it away to win the Euros Absolute ice in her veins.
00:43:13.257 --> 00:43:19.297
She's just had a great tournament throughout the whole thing.
00:43:20.400 --> 00:43:21.782
Fair play to them, back to back.
00:43:21.782 --> 00:43:26.195
Let's hope they can repeat it in the World Cup, coming up and see if they can be world champions.
00:43:27.454 --> 00:43:31.280
No, they beat Italy Fine, but went through against Sweden.
00:43:31.280 --> 00:43:35.659
I think it was Chloe Kelly scored off a penalty, so it was safe?
00:43:35.740 --> 00:43:36.302
Of course it was.
00:43:36.449 --> 00:43:48.621
It was that equaliser, and then yeah so yeah, kelly, but anyway, back to back champs, showing every European team on how it's how it should be done yeah and yeah.
00:43:48.641 --> 00:43:55.737
Let's see if they can keep it going and maybe men can follow them up and win a win, a World Cup coming up in in America in two years time we shall see.
00:43:55.737 --> 00:43:58.385
But big weekend coming up.
00:43:58.385 --> 00:43:58.969
We've got the final.
00:43:58.969 --> 00:44:01.054
We've got the final Lions test.
00:44:01.054 --> 00:44:07.041
Manly have got to bounce back, but we're going to be out at the Accor going hard.
00:44:07.041 --> 00:44:09.217
But be sure to follow along on socials.
00:44:09.217 --> 00:44:13.036
