00:00:59.579 --> 00:01:02.344
This month is my one year anniversary, y'all.
00:01:02.344 --> 00:01:06.212
One year I've been doing podcasting.
00:01:06.212 --> 00:01:10.408
Uh, when God told me, actually, edelene Dryden told me why don't you need to do podcasts?
00:01:10.408 --> 00:01:12.661
So I did just like with C Nicole.
00:01:12.661 --> 00:01:16.510
They said God told me to call you to be in her book.
00:01:16.510 --> 00:01:38.072
I am so excited to have, and I wanted to have C Nicole on because, uh, she was my inspiration to start writing books and C Nicole actually is her second book Well, not probably more than that, but her second chapter was a book series of the anthology series.
00:01:39.459 --> 00:01:40.662
That's what it is she.
00:01:40.662 --> 00:01:42.787
She's doing that Another conversation.
00:01:42.787 --> 00:01:44.028
She's going to talk about that as well.
00:01:44.028 --> 00:01:45.430
So say hi, C Nicole.
00:01:45.632 --> 00:01:47.314
Hello, Hello everyone.
00:01:48.700 --> 00:01:50.299
I'm so excited to have you here.
00:01:51.222 --> 00:01:53.349
To celebrate your one-year anniversary.
00:01:53.349 --> 00:01:55.768
I am so excited to be here.
00:01:55.768 --> 00:01:57.647
You are my inspiration.
00:01:57.647 --> 00:01:59.966
You get so much done.
00:01:59.966 --> 00:02:02.409
I was just thinking about this when I was getting dressed.
00:02:02.409 --> 00:02:15.445
I said, lord, this woman needs to bottle up and package how she gets so much done and teach it to others, because she don't realize that's her secret sauce, the things that come so natural to you.
00:02:15.445 --> 00:02:25.324
Other people struggle in Staying on top of details, staying on top of getting things done, checking off the list, making sure you're showing up.
00:02:25.324 --> 00:02:36.243
You are phenomenal, and I'm so happy about the success of your podcast and I'm going to be leaning on you because I'm starting a podcast too.
00:02:36.243 --> 00:02:43.948
So I'm going to be leaning on you on some things that I can do or how I need to go about doing it, and so I'm just so excited for you.
00:02:43.948 --> 00:02:45.770
I'm just so excited, so happy to be here.
00:02:46.372 --> 00:02:47.334
Thank you so much.
00:02:47.334 --> 00:02:51.026
Oh, that's so heartwarming to me because you don't know how you're doing.
00:02:51.026 --> 00:02:51.709
I just do it.
00:02:51.709 --> 00:03:02.846
I just let's say God is guiding me to do these things and I say actually I said I want to go write another book and actually the chapter in there never say never, because God has a plan for you.
00:03:02.846 --> 00:03:06.151
Yes, he does, yes, and that was my second collaboration.
00:03:06.151 --> 00:03:14.180
My first collaboration book was with you see, nicole, which is.
00:03:14.180 --> 00:03:15.925
And then I know I did another one impacted one voice with Arby Robinson.
00:03:15.925 --> 00:03:17.247
Then I said I'm going to write my own book.
00:03:17.268 --> 00:03:17.489
Yes, you did.
00:03:17.489 --> 00:03:27.004
I self-published my own book, god's grace, through the fire, from struggle to triumph, and it was because of you that helped me to start this process and God's pushing me to say it was rough.
00:03:27.004 --> 00:03:40.509
It was rough writing that book because bringing back memories that I had so deep inside but I wanted to share that with other people because you just never know how that can help you and I get stuck and it's forgiveness.
00:03:40.509 --> 00:03:47.293
That was my biggest thing is forgiveness and I thought I had forgave, but I guess you got to continue to ask for forgiveness.
00:03:47.539 --> 00:03:49.686
Yes, for yourself and for others.
00:03:49.686 --> 00:03:51.912
Yes, exactly, and I said that in my book.
00:03:52.280 --> 00:03:52.721
You have to forget.
00:03:52.721 --> 00:03:59.586
First you have to forgive for yourself, because I don't have to forgive for myself, I didn't do anything, but you just never know and that makes it.
00:03:59.586 --> 00:04:01.949
That really is great that you, that you said that.
00:04:01.949 --> 00:04:02.972

00:08:22.519 --> 00:08:23.182
Thank you.
00:08:23.182 --> 00:08:25.026
Thank you, what a beautiful welcome.
00:08:25.026 --> 00:08:27.331
Yeah, I'm just so grateful.
00:08:27.331 --> 00:08:30.425
I am how do you say, jenny from the block.
00:08:30.425 --> 00:08:32.250
I am Nikki from the block.
00:08:32.429 --> 00:08:36.806
I was born in New York and raised coastal Georgia girl.
00:08:36.806 --> 00:08:38.249
I used to say I'm a beach bum.
00:08:38.249 --> 00:08:41.442
But I don't say bum no more, I'm a beach girl.
00:08:41.442 --> 00:08:45.932
And then I found out I'm a Creole girl on my daddy's side.
00:08:45.932 --> 00:09:26.434
I'm French and Creole and Jamaican and, oh girl, it's just been a beautiful journey, just a beautiful journey, and so I'm so grateful to God for all the things and all the people that he has brought into my life and all the experiences that he's allowed me to have, because I believe that our experiences are not just a coincidence, the trail we blaze for other people even I'm not going to get political, but even though Kamala did not become president, we made history because we had two African-American women hit the Senate seat For the first time in 2024, two women of color to hit the Senate seat for the first time in 2024.
00:09:26.434 --> 00:09:27.820
Two women of color to hit the Senate seat.
00:09:28.399 --> 00:09:30.264
I was a political science undergraduate.
00:09:30.264 --> 00:09:35.784
I used to want to be a senator and I don't have those aspirations really right now, at the moment.
00:09:35.784 --> 00:09:42.788
But to see that and know that I once wanted to be that, and to know that it's now a reality, I'm like Lord.
00:09:42.788 --> 00:09:44.111
I need to follow these women.
00:09:44.111 --> 00:09:46.727
I want to stay on top of what they're doing.
00:09:46.727 --> 00:09:48.385
I just want to be engaged.
00:09:48.385 --> 00:09:54.851
They actually encouraged me, so I'm just so excited about where we are right now and that we are moving forward.
00:09:55.460 --> 00:09:57.206
Yes, absolutely, absolutely.
00:09:57.206 --> 00:09:57.749
I love that.
00:09:57.749 --> 00:09:59.085
I love how you said that there.
00:09:59.085 --> 00:10:00.662
It's so true, you just never know.
00:10:00.662 --> 00:10:10.168
Look, I got four granddaughters that are aspiring and they look at me, they look at their mothers yes which I'm very proud of.
00:10:10.168 --> 00:10:12.662
They're entrepreneurs, even though they were, but they're entrepreneurs.
00:10:12.662 --> 00:10:15.052
In fact, my daughter, tori, she actually created my logo.
00:10:15.052 --> 00:10:15.774
She created my website.
00:10:15.794 --> 00:10:19.447
Yes, yes, that's a designer, and my other daughter, danielle.
00:10:19.447 --> 00:10:21.976
She actually does my promotional items.
00:10:21.976 --> 00:10:27.225
So seeing them grow up and see that I'm an entrepreneur their father was entrepreneur is entrepreneur.
00:10:27.225 --> 00:10:29.246
Yes, that really makes a difference.
00:10:29.246 --> 00:10:30.448
To let them know there is hope.
00:10:30.989 --> 00:10:32.070
Yeah, there is hope.
00:10:32.311 --> 00:10:33.532
To move forward, but no, thank you.
00:10:33.532 --> 00:10:34.894
So let's get down to girl.
00:10:34.894 --> 00:10:35.754
We're moving with time.
00:10:35.754 --> 00:10:39.662
I wish I could keep going here, so let me ask you something.
00:10:39.662 --> 00:10:42.730
So what inspired you to start collaborating on books with other authors?
00:10:45.860 --> 00:10:47.104
It start collaborating on books with other authors.
00:10:47.104 --> 00:10:47.504
It's so funny.
00:10:47.504 --> 00:10:49.471
You say that I've always wanted to be an author.
00:10:49.471 --> 00:10:51.297
Even my name is why it has something to do with me wanting to be an author.
00:10:51.297 --> 00:11:01.426
When I got my divorce in 1999, I was going back to my maiden name and I literally changed my first name, charquinta, to the letter C.
00:11:01.426 --> 00:11:09.051
Now, at the time I didn't know how significant that name was, didn't realize I was named after my father and all these other things that came much later in life.
00:11:09.051 --> 00:11:18.067
But I knew that back then, 20 something years ago, it was a big deal if you were a male or female author and I didn't want to be scrutinized or judged.
00:11:18.067 --> 00:11:27.123
So I wanted people to just look at my work for what it was, and so my pen name was going to be CN Henderson, and so that's like where that birth, where that started.
00:11:27.182 --> 00:11:42.052
And my best friend and I used to go to the beaches, sit under the sand, under the umbrella and dream about one day writing books, dream about one day being an author, and at that time it was more like about creative works, not so much about self-help and things like that.
00:11:42.052 --> 00:11:52.546
But the Lord gave me a burning desire when you and I used to do things with Becky, and I was a part of that experience, and we used to go to Coke.
00:11:52.546 --> 00:12:01.650
We had this one holiday thing and the Lord gave me this ministry called Grace to Completion, and it's to grace people to complete what they have begun in them.
00:12:01.650 --> 00:12:05.210
And so I said, ok, god, what do you want me to do at Grace to Completion?
00:12:05.210 --> 00:12:09.226
And he said the first thing to do is help people.
00:12:09.226 --> 00:12:11.513
Because that's, he said, what did you struggle in the most?
00:12:11.513 --> 00:12:14.288
Okay, lord, I struggled in finishing my first book.
00:12:14.288 --> 00:12:22.897
And he was like okay, then let's start here, because I was part of a literary ministry for over 14 years and I never wrote my own book.
00:12:22.897 --> 00:12:42.190
I just would minister to other people and was there to help other people, helping them with the scribe anointing under apostle theresa johnson, and we had these people come from all over the country, all over the world, to come to our conferences that we had, and I was the national director of this conference, but I was not an author.
00:12:42.190 --> 00:12:45.157
And so I said you know what God has given me?
00:12:45.157 --> 00:12:49.433
The grace to complete this good and perfect gift that he's given me.
00:12:49.433 --> 00:12:56.394
So I started with a book, and what better thing is, while you're trying to do, something is bring others alongside with you.
00:12:57.196 --> 00:13:08.809
And so what happened was I was a part of an anthology with Jay Stone that was my first one and so I was in her, her chronicles, and so I got a chance to really tell my story about.
00:13:08.809 --> 00:13:12.225
It was my title was called just saying enough above the crazy Cause.
00:13:12.225 --> 00:13:19.620
I have a mother who lives in New York God bless her soul but she deals with mental illness and she sometimes deals with addiction.
00:13:19.620 --> 00:13:29.677
And growing up, my grandmother raised me but, god, there was some crazy going on, okay, and sometimes you got to be just saying enough for the crazy.
00:13:29.677 --> 00:13:36.975
And I know I'm giving you the long answer of how this all came about, but it was all there together, of how this began to evolve.
00:13:36.975 --> 00:13:42.732
And so once I got that first story out just like you did, wanda I said, okay, I can do this.
00:13:42.812 --> 00:13:48.712
And then the lady over XE they did a business book and I said, okay, let me talk about my business.
00:13:48.712 --> 00:13:52.941
So I shared a chapter in the business book and I was like, okay, so now it's time for me to do this.
00:13:52.941 --> 00:13:56.451
And so I shared a chapter in the business book and I was like, okay, so now it's time for me to do this.
00:13:56.451 --> 00:14:01.749
And so I started the anthology and I prayed about it and I was like Lord, who do you want me to have?
00:14:01.749 --> 00:14:02.730
Who should I call?
00:14:02.730 --> 00:14:07.048
And he definitely put you in my heart, wanda, and so I called you.
00:14:07.048 --> 00:14:09.634
Now some people I didn't call, some people reached out to me.
00:14:09.634 --> 00:14:31.159
Some people saw the clarion call, because I actually put out a website and a landing page and put it out there for people, and we ended up with 10 authors, including myself, and another reason why that book was so pivotal it came at a time when we was getting ready for the next election and right before we voted in Biden and Kamala as our next vice president.
00:14:31.625 --> 00:14:34.312
And the Lord showed me people talk about oh God don't care about color.
00:14:34.312 --> 00:14:36.337
Yes, he does, or he wouldn't made us different.
00:14:36.337 --> 00:14:42.697
He made us from different ethnicities, different cultures, different places in the world.
00:14:42.697 --> 00:14:45.006
So, yes, he does care about that.
00:14:45.006 --> 00:15:06.466
And so he showed me that this was the season to honor and not exalt, but to really shine, that the woman needs to shine and that the Black woman needs to shine, and that I needed to shine because I had been in a divorce for a long time.
00:15:06.525 --> 00:15:11.135
My son had graduated from high school and I felt like I had to hide.
00:15:11.135 --> 00:15:13.046
I couldn't really talk about my successes.
00:15:13.046 --> 00:15:14.168
I couldn't really talk about my successes.
00:15:14.168 --> 00:15:18.315
I couldn't really talk about how well I was being in business or thinking his father may not help.
00:15:18.315 --> 00:15:19.216
You know what I'm saying.
00:15:19.216 --> 00:15:21.139
Oh, you're doing too good, so let me stop.
00:15:21.139 --> 00:15:21.960
You know what I'm saying.
00:15:21.960 --> 00:15:35.198
So it was a lot of ways that I hid behind that, and so that book was just as much about me coming out of the shadows as it was about me helping other ladies come out of the shadow, and I thank God for that project.
00:15:35.198 --> 00:15:53.866
I still know we haven't done the fullness of what we need to do with that book, but that's pretty much the long story of how all this came about through the Grace to Completion project and to get other people to get their stories out of them, because we got books in heaven with our name on it and you're not done writing Wanda, yeah.
00:15:54.148 --> 00:15:56.993
I know I heard a little boy say okay, let's get your next book.
00:15:56.993 --> 00:15:58.556
I said, what next book?
00:15:59.658 --> 00:16:09.192
I'm trying to get through the podcast you might be writing about how to get these tasks done because, honey, I'm telling you are a task master get it published.
00:16:09.913 --> 00:16:17.796
Yeah, thank you so much, and you know what you know I really, when you told me that because I just told my girlfriend Sharon I said I'm never writing a book.
00:16:18.277 --> 00:16:19.019
And here you call me.
00:16:19.019 --> 00:16:20.109
You said God told me to call you.
00:16:20.109 --> 00:16:20.993
I said, well, what'd he say?
00:16:20.993 --> 00:16:41.315
I'm not going to disobey God, but what I love about that title Audacity to Shine when you put that title out there, that's and I use that in all my you know, things that I say as far as inspiration and I tell my mentoring the girl you have the audacity to shine yeah, that was such a blessing and even like the book cover with the sunflowers, this blue, that was a blessing.
00:16:41.394 --> 00:16:49.951
On that, yes, they got it, put it on there and it just it was just great because, like I said, it just started me on my mission to do what I.
00:16:49.951 --> 00:16:54.125
Yes, you know you already us the purpose, which I was going to ask you about the purpose.
00:16:54.125 --> 00:16:59.986
So what are some of the challenges you face when collaborating on books and how have you overcome them?
00:17:00.749 --> 00:17:02.653
I would say, my first rodeo.
00:17:02.653 --> 00:17:07.388
It's one thing to be in somebody else's collaboration, it's another when you lead your own.
00:17:08.069 --> 00:17:16.336
And so I learned a lot the first time around and I also learned from the other collaborations what I didn't want to do and some things to do better.
00:17:16.336 --> 00:17:21.012
But the second collaboration I did in the second project called Audacity to Love.
00:17:21.012 --> 00:17:32.116
That project was like whoa, because the first one I actually hired a ghost publisher to do all the publishing for me, even though I had a team of you all.
00:17:32.116 --> 00:17:33.986
They did a lot of the back-end work.
00:17:33.986 --> 00:17:35.809
I just paid them to do it.
00:17:35.809 --> 00:17:49.615
But the second collaboration I did the back-end work and so I learned a whole nother process, a whole new found love and respect for the craft when it comes to the formatting and laying it out and all the areas that you had to do.
00:17:49.615 --> 00:17:50.758
And I really.
00:17:50.758 --> 00:18:04.200
But I love the fact that I did that because it gave me even a greater appreciation for the project and then also it just seasoned us to know other things that we can add to our training and our arsenal.
00:18:04.580 --> 00:18:15.546
And so I have a whole list of people now that I could go to to do different things, from editing to graphic work, to proofing, to formatting, to publishing, to printing.
00:18:15.546 --> 00:18:33.071
Just having that to book covers, just having a whole list of people that you can reach out to that are also affordable, because one of the things we want to do is teach people how to publish their book and not be out of 10 and 20 grand because some people they charge a whole lot in order to publish the book.
00:18:33.071 --> 00:18:45.566
But I feel like you can get the book published and still pay a decent amount to get it done, but still have enough money that when you do your pre-sales you would have recouped a good portion of what you already.
00:18:45.566 --> 00:18:51.446
Every last one of my authors pretty much recouped what they invested and that was a blessing.
00:18:52.150 --> 00:18:55.835
Absolutely, and I love that because you're right, I didn't know what you.
00:18:55.835 --> 00:18:59.895
When I self-published my book, I said, oh my God, I got to do this and this, but it was a chore.
00:18:59.895 --> 00:19:04.428
I said, shoot, maybe I should have had somebody else do this, but it gave me a lesson on how to do it.
00:19:04.428 --> 00:19:12.978
And the good thing about it is that when I self-published my book God's Grace Through the Fire, from Str to trauma, I got to copyright it and then my daughter created my book cover.
00:19:12.978 --> 00:19:19.244
Yes, then my son-in-law did my and I, married, did my editing and my son-in-law did my formatting.
00:19:19.625 --> 00:19:25.758
so I had a team you had a family affair yeah and they and it turned out great, but it's just not.
00:19:25.758 --> 00:19:29.260
I still got to learn how to get it on on kindle and all that stuff.
00:19:29.260 --> 00:19:30.285
I don't know how to do all that yet.
00:19:30.285 --> 00:19:34.952
I thought you did that no, I didn't do that yet, so I don't know how to do all that, yet I thought you did that.
00:19:34.972 --> 00:19:36.174
No, I didn't do that yet, so I got it.
00:19:36.174 --> 00:19:37.276
Okay, we have to go do that.
00:19:37.276 --> 00:19:38.278
You have to set up a Zoom one day.
00:19:38.317 --> 00:19:39.619
I can easily tell you how to do that.
00:19:39.619 --> 00:19:40.080
It's not hard at all.
00:19:40.101 --> 00:19:52.662
Please tell me how to do that, because people say are you going to get it on kindle?
00:19:52.662 --> 00:20:02.688
Okay it's just an ebook format, but you have to have it formatted for ebook yeah, I actually started that, but then I got sidetracked to start.
00:20:02.688 --> 00:20:11.913
Yeah, so if I was you not trying to get off of your tangent, but if I would you, I would just literally let's get somebody on fiverr to easily just format it for you.
00:20:11.913 --> 00:20:16.328
It's ready, it's quick, it's done, and then we just put it on Kindle.
00:20:17.472 --> 00:20:19.238
That sounds good, so I got to talk to you about that.
00:20:19.278 --> 00:20:26.067
So you guys, I actually used Fiverr for my started with my podcast, but now I have another editor that does my podcast, so, yeah, we got to talk about that.
00:20:26.067 --> 00:20:33.519
So let me tell you, and I tell you I think I said we can spend hours, I know Let me ask you something.
00:20:33.519 --> 00:20:39.818
So who is your ideal reader for the collaborative books and how do you keep them in mind while doing your writing process?
00:20:39.818 --> 00:20:42.093
And then I'm going to talk about next, about your new book.
00:20:43.185 --> 00:20:44.612
That is such a good question.
00:20:44.612 --> 00:20:51.853
For the first book, our book for Audacity to Shine, I would say our ideal reader is somebody that was going through struggles.
00:20:51.853 --> 00:20:58.300
You're just like you've been through something and now you're on the other side or you're trying to get to the other side.
00:20:58.300 --> 00:21:19.194
And in that book we had so many people like people who had dealt with cancer, folks who had been in domestic violence, someone who had a sugar baby, someone who had been sexually trafficked, someone who had dealt with abuse in the church, you name it.
00:21:19.056 --> 00:21:24.915
There were so many different personalities and situations that took place in that book, and so I had people who, when they picked that book up, they read it multiple times, they didn't just read it one time.
00:21:24.915 --> 00:21:37.491
So I would say the reader would be and it don't have to just be men, women, but it can be a man as well who's gone through some things and so it's primarily this person who say you know what?
00:21:37.491 --> 00:21:46.506
I have been in the shadows, I've been in my pain points, I've gone through something, Life has been lifing and I need to know how to get out of this place.
00:21:46.506 --> 00:21:52.476
I need to know how to shine, I need to know how to trust God in this process I need to get to the other side.
00:21:52.476 --> 00:22:00.938
And the new book is called Audacity to Love and actually that book was supposed to be volume two, Audacity to Shine.
00:22:00.938 --> 00:22:07.818
But when all the authors turned in their manuscripts our chapters everybody wrote on love.
00:22:07.818 --> 00:22:15.179
It was not planned, Everyone wrote on love, and so my son was like mom, that's audacity to love.
00:22:16.546 --> 00:22:16.988
I love it.
00:22:16.988 --> 00:22:17.609
I love it.
00:22:17.630 --> 00:22:18.994
My son named the book.
00:22:19.505 --> 00:22:27.711
Yes, I love it because I read our book, and he read it multiple times as well, so it's not just for women, it's for men too.
00:22:27.770 --> 00:22:33.614
No, it's for men too, yeah, and so audacity to love dealt with someone who's.
00:22:33.614 --> 00:22:35.538
You've been in love relationships.
00:22:35.538 --> 00:22:38.393
You've been in family hurt and pain.
00:22:38.393 --> 00:22:41.021
You've been in situations with a parental hurt.
00:22:41.021 --> 00:22:47.846
You've been in a situation where, again, you may have had a church hurt, because it's about all types of relationships.
00:22:47.846 --> 00:22:51.633
Maybe you're mad at God, so there's different areas in that.
00:22:51.633 --> 00:22:54.778
Like, my chapter talks about my mother.
00:22:54.778 --> 00:23:23.491
Even when she was pregnant with me, she used heroin and she abandoned me, and my grandmother had me since I was seven and but later in one of my other books I talked about I think I talked about it in Audacity to Shine, or maybe even the one before that with Her Chronicles I talked about where I wasn't abandoned, I was regifted and so, knowing that she did something for me that she couldn't even do for herself, she put me in a place where I can be loved.
00:23:23.491 --> 00:23:28.189
But my chapter talks about when love betrays you from the womb.
00:23:28.189 --> 00:23:46.278
You know, because through all that childhood drama, you know because through all, that childhood drama.
00:23:46.960 --> 00:23:48.582
Say that again, because you were coming in and out.
00:23:49.665 --> 00:23:53.594
Say that, again, my inner child was suffering.
00:23:53.594 --> 00:23:56.138
My inner child didn't know how to heal herself.
00:23:56.138 --> 00:24:31.057
My inner child didn't know how to show up for herself, and so I had to learn how to heal that inner child, and so the tagline is healing that inner child, learning how to show up for yourself and how to thrive beyond measure, because I've been an independent business owner for over 12 years and has now consulted nonprofits all over the world, all over the country, and even done business coaching for people who want to start businesses, especially online businesses, and because we're in 46 states around the country, and so, with that being said, I had to put in the work.
00:24:31.057 --> 00:24:35.866
I had to put in the work, and so both books can truly be a blessing to you.
00:24:36.689 --> 00:24:41.928
Oh yeah, I definitely believe that, because they are a blessing to you and and your story.
00:24:41.928 --> 00:24:46.666
What you're telling me, I can resonate with some of that, because my mother my first time my mother had sex.
00:24:46.666 --> 00:24:47.228
She had me.
00:24:48.169 --> 00:24:49.030
I was in high school.
00:24:49.592 --> 00:24:54.779
And like you said, we, like we were repurposed, like what you said, regifted.
00:24:54.779 --> 00:25:04.200
God, god, put us into what we had other family members to actually yes, so no, I appreciate that.
00:25:04.200 --> 00:25:07.132
So we're winding down here and, um, I love it that.
00:25:07.132 --> 00:25:11.775
Definitely make sure you get audacity to love and audacity to shine from yeah, they're both on.
00:25:11.775 --> 00:25:16.931
They're both on um amazon amazon yeah, yeah, and we have websites too.
00:25:16.990 --> 00:25:25.555
If you want to see the other authors, they can go to audacityloveco or audacityshinecom.
00:25:25.555 --> 00:25:29.446
But they can get both books from amazon, which would be the fastest way to get it.
00:25:29.446 --> 00:25:32.233
Just go out to amazon and order the books directly.
00:25:32.233 --> 00:25:37.414
We have the ebook, the hard book and the paper book, copy of all three of both books.
00:25:38.226 --> 00:25:40.887
And if you want an autographed copy, you have to get it from C Nicole.
00:25:40.887 --> 00:25:51.051
Oh yeah, yes, yes, dasateloveco, if you want an autographed copy, yes, yes, yes, definitely, definitely, but I'm going to put that in the show notes anyway.
00:25:59.087 --> 00:26:10.617
I would say go for it, because it is like right now I want to do a collaboration project with nonprofits, I want to people who have a story and they have a message to get out there.
00:26:10.718 --> 00:26:25.270
For them to get their message out there, because I did Ancestor DNA, the Lord has given me a platform for fatherless called the Fatherless Project, to help people who did not know their father, might've felt fatherless or even had an absent parent in the house.
00:26:25.632 --> 00:26:27.497
Maybe a parent was in the house, but they were absent.
00:26:27.497 --> 00:26:43.852
They checked out, and so this project will be like a documentary where we'll be doing interviews and things like that, and so I would say, if you have the opportunity to want to do a collaboration, or even if you want to start a collaboration but you don't know how, reach out to me.
00:26:43.852 --> 00:27:27.998
You can go to my website at cnhassociatesllccom that's cnhassociatesllccom, and you can find me on there and book a consult for us to talk about you starting a collaboration or being part of a collaboration, because I do know other people that have collaborations going on right now as well, and so I would say it's because the thing about it is you only got to write one chapter, you don't have to write the whole book, and when you write the chapter and the chapter is only three to 5,000 words, so you're writing the chapter, you're getting the words out, you're giving it to somebody else and they're doing all the work.
00:27:28.625 --> 00:27:32.557
But you get to learn the process and you get to be a part of a collaborative project.
00:27:32.557 --> 00:27:35.876
Our prelaunch was so amazing.
00:27:35.876 --> 00:27:37.305
We had so many book sales.
00:27:37.305 --> 00:27:45.551
It was so much fun seeing the new authors get all this support and love from their friends and their family, and we had some sorority sisters.
00:27:45.551 --> 00:27:47.673
There's a Delta, there's an AKA.
00:27:47.673 --> 00:27:50.931
That's part of the project and I would just say go for it.
00:27:51.071 --> 00:27:54.492
Go for it and look, I say, if I can do it, you can do it.
00:27:56.827 --> 00:27:59.615
Because I never thought and there's no delay.
00:27:59.615 --> 00:28:03.403
I want to say this one thing, Wanda Delay is not denial.
00:28:03.403 --> 00:28:16.898
I was part of a ministry for over 14 years where I published poetry but I never really published my book and I just wrote poetry or just shared it or did it on open mic or whatever.
00:28:16.898 --> 00:28:18.249
That's still publishing y'all.
00:28:18.249 --> 00:28:21.484
You don't have to be in the library of congress to be considered published.
00:28:22.186 --> 00:28:30.290
I love that, um, because actually I used to write I didn't know that was my way of releasing, yes, but I didn't know that's what it was.
00:28:30.412 --> 00:28:33.538
Yeah, that's a gift, that is truly a gift.
00:28:33.538 --> 00:28:37.112
And yeah, and you can put your poems in a book.
00:28:37.112 --> 00:28:39.297
You can put a collection of your poems in the book.
00:28:39.297 --> 00:28:45.490
Even this last book that we wrote Audacity to, I have my poem in there.
00:28:45.490 --> 00:28:50.227
I have a poem in there about facing your fears, because I struggled with facing my fears.
00:28:50.267 --> 00:29:06.893
We have to struggle, we have to face our fears, and the absent of fear is what love exactly, absolutely, and also faith right oh, yeah, yes, also, yes I am so excited to have you on my show, so tell us how people can get in touch with you.
00:29:07.744 --> 00:29:18.378
So on all my platforms I am CNichole Henderson, so you can search me out on Facebook or LinkedIn or IG anywhere at CNichole Henderson.
00:29:18.378 --> 00:29:23.759
Also, my website is CNHassociatesllccom.
00:29:23.759 --> 00:29:30.954
My latest book website is audacitytoloveco, and so you can find us there.
00:29:30.954 --> 00:29:32.638
You can also find us on Amazon.
00:29:36.867 --> 00:29:37.651
On Amazon.
00:29:38.164 --> 00:29:47.537
Purify Life with God, and so I am definitely so if you want someone to come minister on your platform, being able to share the word of God.
00:29:47.537 --> 00:29:54.833
I am an ordained nonprofit and it's just whether you have a nonprofit or your business.
00:29:54.833 --> 00:30:04.012
I think every business should have a nonprofit, or at least should be sowing into a nonprofit, having those kind of relationships for social goodwill and social responsibility.
00:30:04.012 --> 00:30:06.518
So I would love to be able to share that as well.
00:30:07.505 --> 00:30:08.047
Absolutely.
00:30:08.047 --> 00:30:12.156
Thank you so much, C Nicole, for being on my podcast.
00:30:12.345 --> 00:30:13.490
Thank you for having me.
00:30:14.744 --> 00:30:23.855
Yeah, for the book collaboration, I started it a year ago and I had actually some of the authors from the Audacity to shine on my podcast.
00:30:23.855 --> 00:30:30.528
So definitely go back and listen to that because, see, nicole was one of my first guests as far as that book collaboration.
00:30:30.528 --> 00:30:34.277
But go back and listen to my series because I'm so excited to.
00:30:34.277 --> 00:30:37.570
Yes, I believe it's been a year yeah, it has.
00:30:37.651 --> 00:30:44.296
Oh my god, where has the time gone you cannot believe how fast this year has gone by like truly gone by.
00:30:44.296 --> 00:30:47.090
But one of the things I want to tell people.
00:30:47.090 --> 00:30:51.195
I think I don't know if you can see the cover, but this is the cover of the book.
00:30:51.679 --> 00:30:54.326
Okay, yeah, you can't, yeah, because you're a back.
00:30:54.326 --> 00:30:55.467
Yeah, it's like that, yeah.
00:30:55.487 --> 00:30:56.928
Yeah, audacity to love.
00:30:56.928 --> 00:30:58.028
So do you see that heart?
00:30:58.028 --> 00:31:00.970
With the dripping coming from it, it's like messy.
00:31:00.970 --> 00:31:01.631
You know what I'm saying.
00:31:02.211 --> 00:31:03.311
Yes, I love that.
00:31:03.672 --> 00:31:07.595
Love can be messy, and so invite us to your book clubs.
00:31:07.595 --> 00:31:09.435
Make our book be a part of your process.
00:31:09.435 --> 00:31:16.601
Invite us out to your podcasts for interviews, so we want to get this messaging out there, because this book is also a journal.
00:31:16.601 --> 00:31:18.122
It's a reflection.
00:31:18.122 --> 00:31:21.987
They have prayer, you have places to reflect and write.
00:31:21.987 --> 00:31:22.548
So it's not just a book.
00:31:22.548 --> 00:31:25.675
It's actually a journal and a devotional as well.
00:31:26.939 --> 00:31:27.520
Sounds good.
00:31:27.520 --> 00:31:28.844
Thank you so much, honey.

I had no idea, so definitely go and listen to some of the episodes here, but seeing Nicole's episode will be live on the end of November, so thanks again right after my birthday yeah, mine is next Friday, I know we're both on TV.
00:32:03.567 --> 00:32:04.067

00:32:04.067 --> 00:32:05.730

Yeah, Happy birthday, thank you, and that's why I did it in November.
00:32:10.433 --> 00:32:14.116
I did it because I said, oh, it's my birthday, oh, I'm going to launch in November.
00:32:14.116 --> 00:32:20.142
It was right after my book collaboration, my book Guys Grace to the Fire actually launched in October.
00:32:20.142 --> 00:32:22.167
Yes, I said I was going to do.
00:32:22.669 --> 00:32:26.657
Okay, my next project is my podcast Ready Set Collaborate.
00:32:26.657 --> 00:32:31.570

00:32:31.570 --> 00:32:33.536
Look, I got to give me a.
00:32:33.536 --> 00:32:41.305
I don't know, I need some help here as far as helping me direct me to my path, but he did give me that word.
00:32:41.305 --> 00:32:51.717
Maybe I should do another book, because I do inspiration, something that's inspirational as well yeah, I think that's beautiful yeah, inspiration, and I do want to do a speaking, more speaking on stages, getting that.
00:32:51.757 --> 00:32:57.949
But actually my next part, I am actually part of the author all stars with Taria Avant okay, her magazines.
00:32:57.949 --> 00:32:59.551

Welcome to the Ready Set Collaborate podcast with Wanda Pearson, and I am so excited.
00:00:59.579 --> 00:01:02.344
This month is my one year anniversary, y'all.
00:01:02.344 --> 00:01:06.212
One year I've been doing podcasting.
00:01:06.212 --> 00:01:10.408
Uh, when God told me, actually, edelene Dryden told me why don't you need to do podcasts?
00:01:10.408 --> 00:01:12.661
So I did just like with C Nicole.
00:01:12.661 --> 00:01:16.510
They said God told me to call you to be in her book.
00:01:16.510 --> 00:01:38.072
I am so excited to have, and I wanted to have C Nicole on because, uh, she was my inspiration to start writing books and C Nicole actually is her second book Well, not probably more than that, but her second chapter was a book series of the anthology series.
00:01:39.459 --> 00:01:40.662
That's what it is she.
00:01:40.662 --> 00:01:42.787
She's doing that Another conversation.
00:01:42.787 --> 00:01:44.028
She's going to talk about that as well.
00:01:44.028 --> 00:01:45.430
So say hi, C Nicole.
00:01:45.632 --> 00:01:47.314
Hello, Hello everyone.
00:01:48.700 --> 00:01:50.299
I'm so excited to have you here.
00:01:51.222 --> 00:01:53.349
To celebrate your one-year anniversary.
00:01:53.349 --> 00:01:55.768
I am so excited to be here.
00:01:55.768 --> 00:01:57.647
You are my inspiration.
00:01:57.647 --> 00:01:59.966
You get so much done.
00:01:59.966 --> 00:02:02.409
I was just thinking about this when I was getting dressed.
00:02:02.409 --> 00:02:15.445
I said, lord, this woman needs to bottle up and package how she gets so much done and teach it to others, because she don't realize that's her secret sauce, the things that come so natural to you.
00:02:15.445 --> 00:02:25.324
Other people struggle in Staying on top of details, staying on top of getting things done, checking off the list, making sure you're showing up.
00:02:25.324 --> 00:02:36.243
You are phenomenal, and I'm so happy about the success of your podcast and I'm going to be leaning on you because I'm starting a podcast too.
00:02:36.243 --> 00:02:43.948
So I'm going to be leaning on you on some things that I can do or how I need to go about doing it, and so I'm just so excited for you.
00:02:43.948 --> 00:02:45.770
I'm just so excited, so happy to be here.
00:02:46.372 --> 00:02:47.334
Thank you so much.
00:02:47.334 --> 00:02:51.026
Oh, that's so heartwarming to me because you don't know how you're doing.
00:02:51.026 --> 00:02:51.709
I just do it.
00:02:51.709 --> 00:03:02.846
I just let's say God is guiding me to do these things and I say actually I said I want to go write another book and actually the chapter in there never say never, because God has a plan for you.
00:03:02.846 --> 00:03:06.151
Yes, he does, yes, and that was my second collaboration.
00:03:06.151 --> 00:03:14.180
My first collaboration book was with you see, nicole, which is.
00:03:14.180 --> 00:03:15.925
And then I know I did another one impacted one voice with Arby Robinson.
00:03:15.925 --> 00:03:17.247
Then I said I'm going to write my own book.
00:03:17.268 --> 00:03:17.489
Yes, you did.
00:03:17.489 --> 00:03:27.004
I self-published my own book, god's grace, through the fire, from struggle to triumph, and it was because of you that helped me to start this process and God's pushing me to say it was rough.
00:03:27.004 --> 00:03:40.509
It was rough writing that book because bringing back memories that I had so deep inside but I wanted to share that with other people because you just never know how that can help you and I get stuck and it's forgiveness.
00:03:40.509 --> 00:03:47.293
That was my biggest thing is forgiveness and I thought I had forgave, but I guess you got to continue to ask for forgiveness.
00:03:47.539 --> 00:03:49.686
Yes, for yourself and for others.
00:03:49.686 --> 00:03:51.912
Yes, exactly, and I said that in my book.
00:03:52.280 --> 00:03:52.721
You have to forget.
00:03:52.721 --> 00:03:59.586
First you have to forgive for yourself, because I don't have to forgive for myself, I didn't do anything, but you just never know and that makes it.
00:03:59.586 --> 00:04:01.949
That really is great that you, that you said that.
00:04:01.949 --> 00:04:02.972
So let's get to start.
00:04:02.972 --> 00:04:07.748

So, without further ado, welcome C Nicole.
00:08:22.519 --> 00:08:23.182
Thank you.
00:08:23.182 --> 00:08:25.026
Thank you, what a beautiful welcome.
00:08:25.026 --> 00:08:27.331
Yeah, I'm just so grateful.
00:08:27.331 --> 00:08:30.425
I am how do you say, jenny from the block.
00:08:30.425 --> 00:08:32.250
I am Nikki from the block.
00:08:32.429 --> 00:08:36.806
I was born in New York and raised coastal Georgia girl.
00:08:36.806 --> 00:08:38.249
I used to say I'm a beach bum.
00:08:38.249 --> 00:08:41.442
But I don't say bum no more, I'm a beach girl.
00:08:41.442 --> 00:08:45.932
And then I found out I'm a Creole girl on my daddy's side.
00:08:45.932 --> 00:09:26.434
00:09:26.434 --> 00:09:27.820
Two women of color to hit the Senate seat.
00:09:28.399 --> 00:09:30.264
I was a political science undergraduate.
00:09:30.264 --> 00:09:35.784
I used to want to be a senator and I don't have those aspirations really right now, at the moment.
00:09:35.784 --> 00:09:42.788
But to see that and know that I once wanted to be that, and to know that it's now a reality, I'm like Lord.
00:09:42.788 --> 00:09:44.111
I need to follow these women.
00:09:44.111 --> 00:09:46.727
I want to stay on top of what they're doing.
00:09:46.727 --> 00:09:48.385
I just want to be engaged.
00:09:48.385 --> 00:09:54.851
They actually encouraged me, so I'm just so excited about where we are right now and that we are moving forward.
00:09:55.460 --> 00:09:57.206
Yes, absolutely, absolutely.
00:09:57.206 --> 00:09:57.749
I love that.
00:09:57.749 --> 00:09:59.085
I love how you said that there.
00:09:59.085 --> 00:10:00.662
It's so true, you just never know.
00:10:00.662 --> 00:10:10.168
Look, I got four granddaughters that are aspiring and they look at me, they look at their mothers yes which I'm very proud of.
00:10:10.168 --> 00:10:12.662
They're entrepreneurs, even though they were, but they're entrepreneurs.
00:10:12.662 --> 00:10:15.052
In fact, my daughter, tori, she actually created my logo.
00:10:15.052 --> 00:10:15.774
She created my website.
00:10:15.794 --> 00:10:19.447
Yes, yes, that's a designer, and my other daughter, danielle.
00:10:19.447 --> 00:10:21.976
She actually does my promotional items.
00:10:21.976 --> 00:10:27.225
So seeing them grow up and see that I'm an entrepreneur their father was entrepreneur is entrepreneur.
00:10:27.225 --> 00:10:29.246
Yes, that really makes a difference.
00:10:29.246 --> 00:10:30.448
To let them know there is hope.
00:10:30.989 --> 00:10:32.070
Yeah, there is hope.
00:10:32.311 --> 00:10:33.532
To move forward, but no, thank you.
00:10:33.532 --> 00:10:34.894
So let's get down to girl.
00:10:34.894 --> 00:10:35.754
We're moving with time.
00:10:35.754 --> 00:10:39.662
I wish I could keep going here, so let me ask you something.
00:10:39.662 --> 00:10:42.730
So what inspired you to start collaborating on books with other authors?
00:10:45.860 --> 00:10:47.104
It start collaborating on books with other authors.
00:10:47.104 --> 00:10:47.504
It's so funny.
00:10:47.504 --> 00:10:49.471
You say that I've always wanted to be an author.
00:10:49.471 --> 00:10:51.297
Even my name is why it has something to do with me wanting to be an author.
00:10:51.297 --> 00:11:01.426
When I got my divorce in 1999, I was going back to my maiden name and I literally changed my first name, charquinta, to the letter C.
00:11:01.426 --> 00:11:09.051
Now, at the time I didn't know how significant that name was, didn't realize I was named after my father and all these other things that came much later in life.
00:11:09.051 --> 00:11:18.067
But I knew that back then, 20 something years ago, it was a big deal if you were a male or female author and I didn't want to be scrutinized or judged.
00:11:18.067 --> 00:11:27.123
So I wanted people to just look at my work for what it was, and so my pen name was going to be CN Henderson, and so that's like where that birth, where that started.
00:11:27.182 --> 00:11:42.052
And my best friend and I used to go to the beaches, sit under the sand, under the umbrella and dream about one day writing books, dream about one day being an author, and at that time it was more like about creative works, not so much about self-help and things like that.
00:11:42.052 --> 00:11:52.546
But the Lord gave me a burning desire when you and I used to do things with Becky, and I was a part of that experience, and we used to go to Coke.
00:11:52.546 --> 00:12:01.650
We had this one holiday thing and the Lord gave me this ministry called Grace to Completion, and it's to grace people to complete what they have begun in them.
00:12:01.650 --> 00:12:05.210
And so I said, ok, god, what do you want me to do at Grace to Completion?
00:12:05.210 --> 00:12:09.226
And he said the first thing to do is help people.
00:12:09.226 --> 00:12:11.513
Because that's, he said, what did you struggle in the most?
00:12:11.513 --> 00:12:14.288
Okay, lord, I struggled in finishing my first book.
00:12:14.288 --> 00:12:22.897
And he was like okay, then let's start here, because I was part of a literary ministry for over 14 years and I never wrote my own book.
00:12:22.897 --> 00:12:42.190
I just would minister to other people and was there to help other people, helping them with the scribe anointing under apostle theresa johnson, and we had these people come from all over the country, all over the world, to come to our conferences that we had, and I was the national director of this conference, but I was not an author.
00:12:42.190 --> 00:12:45.157
And so I said you know what God has given me?
00:12:45.157 --> 00:12:49.433
The grace to complete this good and perfect gift that he's given me.
00:12:49.433 --> 00:12:56.394
So I started with a book, and what better thing is, while you're trying to do, something is bring others alongside with you.
00:12:57.196 --> 00:13:08.809
And so what happened was I was a part of an anthology with Jay Stone that was my first one and so I was in her, her chronicles, and so I got a chance to really tell my story about.
00:13:08.809 --> 00:13:12.225
It was my title was called just saying enough above the crazy Cause.
00:13:12.225 --> 00:13:19.620
I have a mother who lives in New York God bless her soul but she deals with mental illness and she sometimes deals with addiction.
00:13:19.620 --> 00:13:29.677
And growing up, my grandmother raised me but, god, there was some crazy going on, okay, and sometimes you got to be just saying enough for the crazy.
00:13:29.677 --> 00:13:36.975
And I know I'm giving you the long answer of how this all came about, but it was all there together, of how this began to evolve.
00:13:36.975 --> 00:13:42.732
And so once I got that first story out just like you did, wanda I said, okay, I can do this.
00:13:42.812 --> 00:13:48.712
And then the lady over XE they did a business book and I said, okay, let me talk about my business.
00:13:48.712 --> 00:13:52.941
So I shared a chapter in the business book and I was like, okay, so now it's time for me to do this.
00:13:52.941 --> 00:13:56.451
And so I shared a chapter in the business book and I was like, okay, so now it's time for me to do this.
00:13:56.451 --> 00:14:01.749
And so I started the anthology and I prayed about it and I was like Lord, who do you want me to have?
00:14:01.749 --> 00:14:02.730
Who should I call?
00:14:02.730 --> 00:14:07.048
And he definitely put you in my heart, wanda, and so I called you.
00:14:07.048 --> 00:14:09.634
Now some people I didn't call, some people reached out to me.
00:14:09.634 --> 00:14:31.159
Some people saw the clarion call, because I actually put out a website and a landing page and put it out there for people, and we ended up with 10 authors, including myself, and another reason why that book was so pivotal it came at a time when we was getting ready for the next election and right before we voted in Biden and Kamala as our next vice president.
00:14:31.625 --> 00:14:34.312
And the Lord showed me people talk about oh God don't care about color.
00:14:34.312 --> 00:14:36.337
Yes, he does, or he wouldn't made us different.
00:14:36.337 --> 00:14:42.697
He made us from different ethnicities, different cultures, different places in the world.
00:14:42.697 --> 00:14:45.006
So, yes, he does care about that.
00:14:45.006 --> 00:15:06.466
And so he showed me that this was the season to honor and not exalt, but to really shine, that the woman needs to shine and that the Black woman needs to shine, and that I needed to shine because I had been in a divorce for a long time.
00:15:06.525 --> 00:15:11.135
My son had graduated from high school and I felt like I had to hide.
00:15:11.135 --> 00:15:13.046
I couldn't really talk about my successes.
00:15:13.046 --> 00:15:14.168
I couldn't really talk about my successes.
00:15:14.168 --> 00:15:18.315
I couldn't really talk about how well I was being in business or thinking his father may not help.
00:15:18.315 --> 00:15:19.216
You know what I'm saying.
00:15:19.216 --> 00:15:21.139
Oh, you're doing too good, so let me stop.
00:15:21.139 --> 00:15:21.960
You know what I'm saying.
00:15:21.960 --> 00:15:35.198
So it was a lot of ways that I hid behind that, and so that book was just as much about me coming out of the shadows as it was about me helping other ladies come out of the shadow, and I thank God for that project.
00:15:35.198 --> 00:15:53.866
I still know we haven't done the fullness of what we need to do with that book, but that's pretty much the long story of how all this came about through the Grace to Completion project and to get other people to get their stories out of them, because we got books in heaven with our name on it and you're not done writing Wanda, yeah.
00:15:54.148 --> 00:15:56.993
I know I heard a little boy say okay, let's get your next book.
00:15:56.993 --> 00:15:58.556
I said, what next book?
00:15:59.658 --> 00:16:09.192
I'm trying to get through the podcast you might be writing about how to get these tasks done because, honey, I'm telling you are a task master get it published.
00:16:09.913 --> 00:16:17.796
Yeah, thank you so much, and you know what you know I really, when you told me that because I just told my girlfriend Sharon I said I'm never writing a book.
00:16:18.277 --> 00:16:19.019
And here you call me.
00:16:19.019 --> 00:16:20.109
You said God told me to call you.
00:16:20.109 --> 00:16:20.993
I said, well, what'd he say?
00:16:20.993 --> 00:16:41.315
00:16:41.394 --> 00:16:49.951
On that, yes, they got it, put it on there and it just it was just great because, like I said, it just started me on my mission to do what I.
00:16:49.951 --> 00:16:54.125
Yes, you know you already us the purpose, which I was going to ask you about the purpose.
00:16:54.125 --> 00:16:59.986
So what are some of the challenges you face when collaborating on books and how have you overcome them?
00:17:00.749 --> 00:17:02.653
I would say, my first rodeo.
00:17:02.653 --> 00:17:07.388
It's one thing to be in somebody else's collaboration, it's another when you lead your own.
00:17:08.069 --> 00:17:16.336
And so I learned a lot the first time around and I also learned from the other collaborations what I didn't want to do and some things to do better.
00:17:16.336 --> 00:17:21.012
But the second collaboration I did in the second project called Audacity to Love.
00:17:21.012 --> 00:17:32.116
That project was like whoa, because the first one I actually hired a ghost publisher to do all the publishing for me, even though I had a team of you all.
00:17:32.116 --> 00:17:33.986
They did a lot of the back-end work.
00:17:33.986 --> 00:17:35.809
I just paid them to do it.
00:17:35.809 --> 00:17:49.615
But the second collaboration I did the back-end work and so I learned a whole nother process, a whole new found love and respect for the craft when it comes to the formatting and laying it out and all the areas that you had to do.
00:17:49.615 --> 00:17:50.758
And I really.
00:17:50.758 --> 00:18:04.200
But I love the fact that I did that because it gave me even a greater appreciation for the project and then also it just seasoned us to know other things that we can add to our training and our arsenal.
00:18:04.580 --> 00:18:15.546
And so I have a whole list of people now that I could go to to do different things, from editing to graphic work, to proofing, to formatting, to publishing, to printing.
00:18:15.546 --> 00:18:33.071
Just having that to book covers, just having a whole list of people that you can reach out to that are also affordable, because one of the things we want to do is teach people how to publish their book and not be out of 10 and 20 grand because some people they charge a whole lot in order to publish the book.
00:18:33.071 --> 00:18:45.566
But I feel like you can get the book published and still pay a decent amount to get it done, but still have enough money that when you do your pre-sales you would have recouped a good portion of what you already.
00:18:45.566 --> 00:18:51.446
Every last one of my authors pretty much recouped what they invested and that was a blessing.
00:18:52.150 --> 00:18:55.835
Absolutely, and I love that because you're right, I didn't know what you.
00:18:55.835 --> 00:18:59.895
When I self-published my book, I said, oh my God, I got to do this and this, but it was a chore.
00:18:59.895 --> 00:19:04.428
I said, shoot, maybe I should have had somebody else do this, but it gave me a lesson on how to do it.
00:19:04.428 --> 00:19:12.978
And the good thing about it is that when I self-published my book God's Grace Through the Fire, from Str to trauma, I got to copyright it and then my daughter created my book cover.
00:19:12.978 --> 00:19:19.244
Yes, then my son-in-law did my and I, married, did my editing and my son-in-law did my formatting.
00:19:19.625 --> 00:19:25.758
so I had a team you had a family affair yeah and they and it turned out great, but it's just not.
00:19:25.758 --> 00:19:29.260
I still got to learn how to get it on on kindle and all that stuff.
00:19:29.260 --> 00:19:30.285
I don't know how to do all that yet.
00:19:30.285 --> 00:19:34.952
I thought you did that no, I didn't do that yet, so I don't know how to do all that, yet I thought you did that.
00:19:34.972 --> 00:19:36.174
No, I didn't do that yet, so I got it.
00:19:36.174 --> 00:19:37.276
Okay, we have to go do that.
00:19:37.276 --> 00:19:38.278
You have to set up a Zoom one day.
00:19:38.317 --> 00:19:39.619
I can easily tell you how to do that.
00:19:39.619 --> 00:19:40.080
It's not hard at all.
00:19:40.101 --> 00:19:52.662
Please tell me how to do that, because people say are you going to get it on kindle?
00:19:52.662 --> 00:20:02.688
Okay it's just an ebook format, but you have to have it formatted for ebook yeah, I actually started that, but then I got sidetracked to start.
00:20:02.688 --> 00:20:11.913
Yeah, so if I was you not trying to get off of your tangent, but if I would you, I would just literally let's get somebody on fiverr to easily just format it for you.
00:20:11.913 --> 00:20:16.328
It's ready, it's quick, it's done, and then we just put it on Kindle.
00:20:17.472 --> 00:20:19.238
That sounds good, so I got to talk to you about that.
00:20:19.278 --> 00:20:26.067
So you guys, I actually used Fiverr for my started with my podcast, but now I have another editor that does my podcast, so, yeah, we got to talk about that.
00:20:26.067 --> 00:20:33.519
So let me tell you, and I tell you I think I said we can spend hours, I know Let me ask you something.
00:20:33.519 --> 00:20:39.818
So who is your ideal reader for the collaborative books and how do you keep them in mind while doing your writing process?
00:20:39.818 --> 00:20:42.093
And then I'm going to talk about next, about your new book.
00:20:43.185 --> 00:20:44.612
That is such a good question.
00:20:44.612 --> 00:20:51.853
For the first book, our book for Audacity to Shine, I would say our ideal reader is somebody that was going through struggles.
00:20:51.853 --> 00:20:58.300
You're just like you've been through something and now you're on the other side or you're trying to get to the other side.
00:20:58.300 --> 00:21:19.194
And in that book we had so many people like people who had dealt with cancer, folks who had been in domestic violence, someone who had a sugar baby, someone who had been sexually trafficked, someone who had dealt with abuse in the church, you name it.
00:21:19.056 --> 00:21:24.915
There were so many different personalities and situations that took place in that book, and so I had people who, when they picked that book up, they read it multiple times, they didn't just read it one time.
00:21:24.915 --> 00:21:37.491
So I would say the reader would be and it don't have to just be men, women, but it can be a man as well who's gone through some things and so it's primarily this person who say you know what?
00:21:37.491 --> 00:21:46.506
I have been in the shadows, I've been in my pain points, I've gone through something, Life has been lifing and I need to know how to get out of this place.
00:21:46.506 --> 00:21:52.476
I need to know how to shine, I need to know how to trust God in this process I need to get to the other side.
00:21:52.476 --> 00:22:00.938
And the new book is called Audacity to Love and actually that book was supposed to be volume two, Audacity to Shine.
00:22:00.938 --> 00:22:07.818
But when all the authors turned in their manuscripts our chapters everybody wrote on love.
00:22:07.818 --> 00:22:15.179
It was not planned, Everyone wrote on love, and so my son was like mom, that's audacity to love.
00:22:16.546 --> 00:22:16.988
I love it.
00:22:16.988 --> 00:22:17.609
I love it.
00:22:17.630 --> 00:22:18.994
My son named the book.
00:22:19.505 --> 00:22:27.711
Yes, I love it because I read our book, and he read it multiple times as well, so it's not just for women, it's for men too.
00:22:27.770 --> 00:22:33.614
No, it's for men too, yeah, and so audacity to love dealt with someone who's.
00:22:33.614 --> 00:22:35.538
You've been in love relationships.
00:22:35.538 --> 00:22:38.393
You've been in family hurt and pain.
00:22:38.393 --> 00:22:41.021
You've been in situations with a parental hurt.
00:22:41.021 --> 00:22:47.846
You've been in a situation where, again, you may have had a church hurt, because it's about all types of relationships.
00:22:47.846 --> 00:22:51.633
Maybe you're mad at God, so there's different areas in that.
00:22:51.633 --> 00:22:54.778
Like, my chapter talks about my mother.
00:22:54.778 --> 00:23:23.491
00:23:23.491 --> 00:23:28.189
But my chapter talks about when love betrays you from the womb.
00:23:28.189 --> 00:23:46.278
You know, because through all that childhood drama, you know because through all, that childhood drama.
00:23:46.960 --> 00:23:48.582
Say that again, because you were coming in and out.
00:23:49.665 --> 00:23:53.594
Say that, again, my inner child was suffering.
00:23:53.594 --> 00:23:56.138
My inner child didn't know how to heal herself.
00:23:56.138 --> 00:24:31.057
00:24:31.057 --> 00:24:35.866
I had to put in the work, and so both books can truly be a blessing to you.
00:24:36.689 --> 00:24:41.928
Oh yeah, I definitely believe that, because they are a blessing to you and and your story.
00:24:41.928 --> 00:24:46.666
What you're telling me, I can resonate with some of that, because my mother my first time my mother had sex.
00:24:46.666 --> 00:24:47.228
She had me.
00:24:48.169 --> 00:24:49.030
I was in high school.
00:24:49.592 --> 00:24:54.779
And like you said, we, like we were repurposed, like what you said, regifted.
00:24:54.779 --> 00:25:04.200
God, god, put us into what we had other family members to actually yes, so no, I appreciate that.
00:25:04.200 --> 00:25:07.132
So we're winding down here and, um, I love it that.
00:25:07.132 --> 00:25:11.775
Definitely make sure you get audacity to love and audacity to shine from yeah, they're both on.
00:25:11.775 --> 00:25:16.931
They're both on um amazon amazon yeah, yeah, and we have websites too.
00:25:16.990 --> 00:25:25.555
If you want to see the other authors, they can go to audacityloveco or audacityshinecom.
00:25:25.555 --> 00:25:29.446
But they can get both books from amazon, which would be the fastest way to get it.
00:25:29.446 --> 00:25:32.233
Just go out to amazon and order the books directly.
00:25:32.233 --> 00:25:37.414
We have the ebook, the hard book and the paper book, copy of all three of both books.
00:25:38.226 --> 00:25:40.887
And if you want an autographed copy, you have to get it from C Nicole.
00:25:40.887 --> 00:25:51.051
Oh yeah, yes, yes, dasateloveco, if you want an autographed copy, yes, yes, yes, definitely, definitely, but I'm going to put that in the show notes anyway.
00:25:59.087 --> 00:26:10.617
I would say go for it, because it is like right now I want to do a collaboration project with nonprofits, I want to people who have a story and they have a message to get out there.
00:26:10.718 --> 00:26:25.270
For them to get their message out there, because I did Ancestor DNA, the Lord has given me a platform for fatherless called the Fatherless Project, to help people who did not know their father, might've felt fatherless or even had an absent parent in the house.
00:26:25.632 --> 00:26:27.497
Maybe a parent was in the house, but they were absent.
00:26:27.497 --> 00:26:43.852
They checked out, and so this project will be like a documentary where we'll be doing interviews and things like that, and so I would say, if you have the opportunity to want to do a collaboration, or even if you want to start a collaboration but you don't know how, reach out to me.
00:26:43.852 --> 00:27:27.998
00:27:28.625 --> 00:27:32.557
But you get to learn the process and you get to be a part of a collaborative project.
00:27:32.557 --> 00:27:35.876
Our prelaunch was so amazing.
00:27:35.876 --> 00:27:37.305
We had so many book sales.
00:27:37.305 --> 00:27:45.551
It was so much fun seeing the new authors get all this support and love from their friends and their family, and we had some sorority sisters.
00:27:45.551 --> 00:27:47.673
There's a Delta, there's an AKA.
00:27:47.673 --> 00:27:50.931
That's part of the project and I would just say go for it.
00:27:51.071 --> 00:27:54.492
Go for it and look, I say, if I can do it, you can do it.
00:27:56.827 --> 00:27:59.615
Because I never thought and there's no delay.
00:27:59.615 --> 00:28:03.403
I want to say this one thing, Wanda Delay is not denial.
00:28:03.403 --> 00:28:16.898
I was part of a ministry for over 14 years where I published poetry but I never really published my book and I just wrote poetry or just shared it or did it on open mic or whatever.
00:28:16.898 --> 00:28:18.249
That's still publishing y'all.
00:28:18.249 --> 00:28:21.484
You don't have to be in the library of congress to be considered published.
00:28:22.186 --> 00:28:30.290
I love that, um, because actually I used to write I didn't know that was my way of releasing, yes, but I didn't know that's what it was.
00:28:30.412 --> 00:28:33.538
Yeah, that's a gift, that is truly a gift.
00:28:33.538 --> 00:28:37.112
And yeah, and you can put your poems in a book.
00:28:37.112 --> 00:28:39.297
You can put a collection of your poems in the book.
00:28:39.297 --> 00:28:45.490
Even this last book that we wrote Audacity to, I have my poem in there.
00:28:45.490 --> 00:28:50.227
I have a poem in there about facing your fears, because I struggled with facing my fears.
00:28:50.267 --> 00:29:06.893
We have to struggle, we have to face our fears, and the absent of fear is what love exactly, absolutely, and also faith right oh, yeah, yes, also, yes I am so excited to have you on my show, so tell us how people can get in touch with you.
00:29:07.744 --> 00:29:18.378
So on all my platforms I am CNichole Henderson, so you can search me out on Facebook or LinkedIn or IG anywhere at CNichole Henderson.
00:29:18.378 --> 00:29:23.759
Also, my website is CNHassociatesllccom.
00:29:23.759 --> 00:29:30.954
My latest book website is audacitytoloveco, and so you can find us there.
00:29:30.954 --> 00:29:32.638
You can also find us on Amazon.
00:29:36.867 --> 00:29:37.651
On Amazon.
00:29:38.164 --> 00:29:47.537
Purify Life with God, and so I am definitely so if you want someone to come minister on your platform, being able to share the word of God.
00:29:47.537 --> 00:29:54.833
I am an ordained nonprofit and it's just whether you have a nonprofit or your business.
00:29:54.833 --> 00:30:04.012
I think every business should have a nonprofit, or at least should be sowing into a nonprofit, having those kind of relationships for social goodwill and social responsibility.
00:30:04.012 --> 00:30:06.518
So I would love to be able to share that as well.
00:30:07.505 --> 00:30:08.047
Absolutely.
00:30:08.047 --> 00:30:12.156
Thank you so much, C Nicole, for being on my podcast.
00:30:12.345 --> 00:30:13.490
Thank you for having me.
00:30:14.744 --> 00:30:23.855
Yeah, for the book collaboration, I started it a year ago and I had actually some of the authors from the Audacity to shine on my podcast.
00:30:23.855 --> 00:30:30.528
So definitely go back and listen to that because, see, nicole was one of my first guests as far as that book collaboration.
00:30:30.528 --> 00:30:34.277
But go back and listen to my series because I'm so excited to.
00:30:34.277 --> 00:30:37.570
Yes, I believe it's been a year yeah, it has.
00:30:37.651 --> 00:30:44.296
Oh my god, where has the time gone you cannot believe how fast this year has gone by like truly gone by.
00:30:44.296 --> 00:30:47.090
But one of the things I want to tell people.
00:30:47.090 --> 00:30:51.195
I think I don't know if you can see the cover, but this is the cover of the book.
00:30:51.679 --> 00:30:54.326
Okay, yeah, you can't, yeah, because you're a back.
00:30:54.326 --> 00:30:55.467
Yeah, it's like that, yeah.
00:30:55.487 --> 00:30:56.928
Yeah, audacity to love.
00:30:56.928 --> 00:30:58.028
So do you see that heart?
00:30:58.028 --> 00:31:00.970
With the dripping coming from it, it's like messy.
00:31:00.970 --> 00:31:01.631
You know what I'm saying.
00:31:02.211 --> 00:31:03.311
Yes, I love that.
00:31:03.672 --> 00:31:07.595
Love can be messy, and so invite us to your book clubs.
00:31:07.595 --> 00:31:09.435
Make our book be a part of your process.
00:31:09.435 --> 00:31:16.601
Invite us out to your podcasts for interviews, so we want to get this messaging out there, because this book is also a journal.
00:31:16.601 --> 00:31:18.122
It's a reflection.
00:31:18.122 --> 00:31:21.987
They have prayer, you have places to reflect and write.
00:31:21.987 --> 00:31:22.548
So it's not just a book.
00:31:22.548 --> 00:31:25.675
It's actually a journal and a devotional as well.
00:31:26.939 --> 00:31:27.520
Sounds good.
00:31:27.520 --> 00:31:28.844
Thank you so much, honey.
00:31:28.844 --> 00:31:40.150

00:31:44.182 --> 00:32:03.548
I had no idea, so definitely go and listen to some of the episodes here, but seeing Nicole's episode will be live on the end of November, so thanks again right after my birthday yeah, mine is next Friday, I know we're both on TV.
00:32:03.567 --> 00:32:04.067
Happy birthday.
00:32:04.067 --> 00:32:05.730
So thanks again Right after my birthday.
00:32:05.730 --> 00:32:07.290
Yeah, mine is next Friday I know we're both November TV.
00:32:07.310 --> 00:32:10.433
Yeah, Happy birthday, thank you, and that's why I did it in November.
00:32:10.433 --> 00:32:14.116
I did it because I said, oh, it's my birthday, oh, I'm going to launch in November.
00:32:14.116 --> 00:32:20.142
It was right after my book collaboration, my book Guys Grace to the Fire actually launched in October.
00:32:20.142 --> 00:32:22.167
Yes, I said I was going to do.
00:32:22.669 --> 00:32:26.657
Okay, my next project is my podcast Ready Set Collaborate.
00:32:26.657 --> 00:32:31.570
So what's next for you, wanda?
00:32:31.570 --> 00:32:33.536
Look, I got to give me a.
00:32:33.536 --> 00:32:41.305
I don't know, I need some help here as far as helping me direct me to my path, but he did give me that word.
00:32:41.305 --> 00:32:51.717
Maybe I should do another book, because I do inspiration, something that's inspirational as well yeah, I think that's beautiful yeah, inspiration, and I do want to do a speaking, more speaking on stages, getting that.
00:32:51.757 --> 00:32:57.949
But actually my next part, I am actually part of the author all stars with Taria Avant okay, her magazines.
00:32:57.949 --> 00:32:59.551
This is my second time being on.
00:32:59.551 --> 00:33:01.055
I'm trying to get to my top 50.
00:33:01.055 --> 00:33:02.817
Okay, top 20.
00:33:02.817 --> 00:33:03.358

00:33:11.973 --> 00:33:13.458
Well, thank you, c Nicole.
00:33:13.458 --> 00:33:17.773
I'll be having you on my show again to keep up with your progress as far as what you're doing.
00:33:18.276 --> 00:33:23.065
Thank you so much doing.
00:33:23.065 --> 00:33:23.666
Thank you so much.
00:33:23.666 --> 00:33:24.609
It's been a blessing to be here.
00:33:24.609 --> 00:33:27.700
I thank God for you and I know that only increased love and abundance is your portion in Jesus name.
00:33:27.720 --> 00:33:27.819
