इस एपिसोड के बारे में
Content note: This episode includes discussion of grief, bereavement and loss by suicide. Please listen with care.
Sometimes becoming happens because we choose to change.
And sometimes life makes us stop.
In Episode 2 of Soul Icons, I talk honestly about the last few years of my life — cumulative grief, losing people who had known me for decades, burnout, stepping back, and what happens when you realise you can't simply return as the person you were before.
I lost my best friend of over 25 years and my childhood friend of over 40 years, alongside other friends and family members.
Some losses were sudden. Some came through illness. Some through suicide.
And somewhere along the way, I realised something:
When you lose someone who has known you for decades, you're not only grieving the person. You're grieving a history.
This isn't an episode about having grief figured out.
It's about what happens when loss follows loss, when functioning gets mistaken for processing, and when life eventually makes you stop.
Maybe coming back isn't about finding the old version of yourself.
Maybe it's about meeting the person you've become.

A question to sit with:
Has there ever been a time when life made you stop — and did that period change who you became?
