इस एपिसोड के बारे में
It can’t rain all the time… but apparently it can start a full-blown generational argument. In this episode of Gen Wars, Nick, Stephen, Cam, and Katherine dive headfirst into The Crow (1994), the gothic cult classic directed by Alex Proyas and starring Brandon Lee, Ernie Hudson, Michael Wincott, Bai Ling, and Rochelle Davis.
Based on the iconic graphic novel by James O’Barr, The Crow follows Eric Draven, a murdered musician who is resurrected one year after his death by a mystical crow so he can avenge himself and his fiancée, Shelly Webster, on Devil’s Night in a fire-drenched, crime-ridden Detroit. It’s revenge, tragedy, eyeliner, rooftop brooding, leather, candles, and enough moody ‘90s energy to power a Hot Topic for eternity.
And naturally, Gen Wars handles this movie with all the grace of a crow smashing through a stained-glass window.
- Stephen is fully locked into the vibes, the mythos, the aesthetic, and the “this could have influenced half of modern edgy cinema” argument.
- Katherine comes in ready to defend the film’s emotional core, gothic style, and cult status.
- Cam shows up with the soundtrack praise, production grievances, raven-based outrage, and enough anti-nostalgia smoke to make the comments section catch fire.
- Nick lands somewhere in the middle, weighing childhood nostalgia against a harsher adult rewatch, Brandon Lee’s tragic legacy, and whether this movie still hits as hard when you were a brooding teenager.
Come for the movie review podcast chaos. Stay for the soundtrack worship, hot takes, brooding revenge discourse, and the absolute confusion of watching one generation defend the vibes while the other starts deducting points like they’re conducting a crime scene investigation.
- Who was right on The Crow?
- Was this a dark, stylish, influential masterpiece?
- A flawed cult classic carried by mood and tragedy?
- Or just a D+ for elder goths who never emotionally left 1994?
