אודות פרק זה
In this episode, we explore the Reformation—the 16th century religious movement that shattered the unity of Christendom and created the Protestant churches. It was a time of faith, conflict, and transformation. It was a time when the printing press democratized ideas and challenged the authority of the Catholic Church.
We begin with the invention of the printing press—a technology that increased the number of books in Europe from 100,000 to 9 million in just fifty years. We trace the rise of Martin Luther and John Calvin, their rejection of reason in favor of faith, and their vision of a new Christianity.
