DREAMFORCE last week was a blast!!!! Most AI agent projects fail for the same reason. The foundation was not ready. That came through clearly in my Dreamforce conversation with Jyoti Chaudhary, Global Head of Salesforce Practice at Altimetrik, and Jeff Sneeringer, Service Delivery Director at Huntington National Bank.
What we covered:
- Salesforce is unifying its AI strategy across the ecosystem, pushing AI into Cloud, Slack, and Microsoft Teams so it sits inside the conversations people are already having.
- Regulated industries are moving away from custom code. Banks want turnkey configurations they can stand up fast and see value from, for customers and for internal teams.
- Salesforce is shifting from a system of engagement and record to a system of action and intelligence. Agentic capabilities, agentic frameworks in Marketing Cloud, and developer efficiency through Cloud Code.
- On deployment, Jyoti made the case for a phased approach. Get the data layer, automated workflows, and semantic layer right first. Understand your business processes and KPIs before you build an agentic roadmap.
2 pieces of advice for leaders:
Prepare for headless and omnichannel. Surface your tools wherever people work, simplify the workload, and chase ROI over cost savings.
Take responsible AI engineering seriously. Your practitioners need to understand compliance, regulation, and what sustainable looks like as this moves fast.
