In John 17, Jesus moves from speaking to His disciples to speaking directly to the Father. Often called the High Priestly Prayer, this chapter gives us a unique look into what Jesus desired for His followers then and what He still desires for us now.
Jesus prays that His people would be kept, filled with joy, protected from evil, sanctified in truth, united as one, and ultimately brought into the fullness of His presence and glory. This prayer reveals that following Jesus is more than simply believing something about Him. It is an invitation to participate in His life, His love, and His relationship with the Father.
