Speaker 1: Yeah, the trades are coming fast and furious. Now as we tick tick tick to the three pm Eastern NBA trade deadline buzzer, We're still here in the Classic Factory, the No Dunk's crew. I'm Skeets. We got tasks, we got TK Trade Kirby, we got the International Man of Mystery taken to the Maxley Ellison. Of course, super producer JD Pushing the Buttons our fourth podcast of the day. But things are like just sort of progressing perfectly here for us, I would say, in the Classic Factory. If you want to hear our thoughts on the four team deal that happened ten hours ago at this point, go check out that video or that podcast in your podcast feed. And then of course the big Ben Simmons for James Harden trade we just wrapped to in that one, also available on YouTube, and wherever you listen to No Dunks, leave your boys a five star rating and review, like, subscribe, comment away again, shout out to the stream team or some of you joining us here for the fourth time today, really the sixth or seventh time if you count those false starts. But yeah, we got a lot more deals here to tackle and grade and we'll start with the Mavericks trading Kristaps Porzingis can you believe it? And a second round pick to the Washington Wizards for Spencer Dinwitty and Davis Berton. Some saying the biggest trade in Latvian history. So to us, let's start with you Poorzingis going to the Wizards. And they made other moves here and we'll get to Montres Harrold going to the Hornets. So they were down to center. But kp to Washington, Dinwitty to Dallas.
00:01:39
Speaker 2: What do you think, Well, the Mavericks are better because christophs Porzingis just didn't play all the time, They frankly are Now it's a bit of a our problem for your problem scenario because the MAVs deal christophs Porzingis and they get Dallas Burton's back, who's got three years left on his deal that hasn't worked out for the Wizards. But the only guy who's actually going to play and contribute most definitely in this deal is Spencer did we going to the Dallas Mavericks. He's gonna contribute and he's a bit of insurance this offseason if Jalen Brunson isn't signed by the MAVs, so he's gonna play alongside Luka Doncic. He could come off the bench, but now their rotation is Brunson Luca. Let's say Dinwoody starts, Finny Smith and Kleeba along with Berton's Bullock and Powell off the bench. I think that's Luca's best team going into the playoffs that he's ever had. I didn't even say to Tim Hardaway, excuse me, who's out? Yeah, So that's that's who you got, and that's I think you know who you're going into battle with. As opposed to the christophs Porzingis scenario, it's smaller, but I think they are better today than they were with Christops Porzingis in and out of the lineup. That's it's a problem for problem trade. But Spencer's gonna play at least.
00:02:47
Speaker 1: What was your immediate reaction to this one? We didn't see this one coming, not porzing We didn't.
00:02:51
Speaker 3: See this one coming. And I don't know.
00:02:53
Speaker 4: Maybe it's just because I'm a Latvian lover and I'm still like, I'm still bullish on Porzingis. I still think he can be quality player in the league. Maybe I'm just.
00:03:03
Speaker 1: Hey, he was an All Star when he was in the Eastern.
00:03:05
Speaker 3: Conference, exactly right, exactly right, And.
00:03:08
Speaker 4: He was also on the All Bubble team in those eight pre Bubble games.
00:03:12
Speaker 3: So the talent is still.
00:03:14
Speaker 1: He's good when he plays, but you need to play exactly right.
00:03:18
Speaker 4: But I mean, honestly, Dinwitty has had his injury problems as well Burton's.
00:03:23
Speaker 3: Maybe this is just my lapping loverness speaking here.
00:03:25
Speaker 4: You know, I think he's gonna have a bounce back season, bounce back for Burton's getting set up by Luka Doncic, somebody who actually wants to pass the ball, and like what the Wizards have had. I think it's going to be good for him. But the Mavericks were kind of in a tough spot where it's like the players that they need to trade for are similar to the players they have, So it's like, are they are they gonna move Tim Hardaway Junior. I know that they're trying to, and they would like to get off his contract, but they would want to bring back kind of like a Tim Hardaway Junior. So I don't know, maybe you're splitting the difference here. Christaps porzingis a little Burton's a little dinwitty, you know, sometimes they're banged up, sometimes they hit threes. Sometimes they have good games, sometimes they don't. I think they're all kind of similar players. And I think that this doesn't take the Mavericks out of re sigling re signing Jalen Brunson for next year. So I think that's good too. And yeah, I guess the Mavericks. The Mavericks got a little bit better.
00:04:13
Speaker 3: I think they just.
00:04:14
Speaker 4: Needed more playmaking and I think that they'll be able to roll with Dwight Powell and Cleveo as they're bigs.
00:04:19
Speaker 1: Who's the winner of this Mavericks Wizards deal.
00:04:21
Speaker 5: In Lelis's mind, Well, to me, the Mavericks just wanted to get off Porzingis's contract because you're getting guy like Davis Bertans, who's supposed to be a shootout. Well, he's giving you less than six points a game on thirty two percent from three this season. He just chucks it and sometimes he'll get hot, he'll hit six or seven or eight. He doesn't play defense, he doesn't do anything else, and he's got two guaranteed years on his contract, less than Pausingis. But then you get Spencer Didntwoodie, who's had his good moments. No question, when he was there in Brooklyn, he was a decent player. He can score, he can set things up, so he takes a little bit of the load off Luca there, But it doesn't really move the needle all that much for me, because again, Burton's has barely played this season, only thirty four games, and Spencer Dimwood He's had his injury issues. But that's the whole problem with Porzingis. He's missed twenty one games this season because of injuries. Last season when he did play in the playoffs, he wasn't very good the season before in the Bubble, he didn't finish that playoff series because he was injured. So he is still the best player in this but what good is it for a guy who just doesn't play and then when you need him to step up, he's unable to. And the Mavericks still oh the Knicks a first round pick from that draft, which is for next season, so they're still paying off the Porzingis deal. At the time, it was the right move, no doubt about it, but Porzingis's injuries have just really held him back.
00:05:35
Speaker 2: I wonder if this is a start of a teardown for the Washington Wizards.
00:05:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. I mean, I was really confused, and we'll get to the montros heral where they traded him for nothing to the Hornets. It felt lake But then okay, and then you get Porzingis You're like, oh, yeah, it takes a little more sense. But yeah, I think it's a possibility. You obviously mean bill included.
00:05:54
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, the contracts are shorter now because DAAs Berton's was another two plus a player option, so three full years. And it seems like Kristaps Perzings is signed forever because it always seems like you talk about Chris starps Perzing it's like, who's gonna take on that contract? Well, it's only one more guaranteed year plus a player option, so two more years. So things are getting shorter in the contract world on the sheets of the Washington Wizard. So yeah, it feels like a tear down is happening, that it's finally time. Yes, and it feels like Bradley Beal will be part of that. Maybe they are. They are gonna do the rare thing and not sign Beal to a max deal, like every superstar comes to the to the point where they can sign a max deal. But sure feels like this maybe them going in another direction.
00:06:37
Speaker 1: Do you think like this moves the Mavericks in the Western Conference standings at all? Throwing Dinwiddie in here, or are they gonna be in that fifth, sixth maybe even a little bit lower sort of range, or does this take them to another level? Test is a little higher on it. All.
00:06:51
Speaker 4: Right, So there are two games Dallas is right now, they're two games behind the Jazz for the fourth seed, and they are math one and a half games ahead of Denver. So to me, I'm with Lee. I don't really think this moves the needle a whole bunch. I think that the Mavericks will probably stick in the four or five six range. Though maybe they're just gonna be bombs away and that's kind of like the best The best form of the MAVs is when they're actually hitting three pointers. So I guess to me, it's just a little bit of salary CapMan machinations, if you will. Getting off the Porzingis deal is big time, I think, But team wise, I don't think they're that much better. I think maybe it'll be nice for Luca and I have to completely carry the load once it comes to creation come playoff time, and it seems like he's got to do everything for forty eight minutes. At least you can offload some things to Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwidy for a few moments there. Maybe that helps, But I think they're basically the same talent level.
00:07:46
Speaker 1: Yeah they were, and it just feels like the Mavericks because of kp being in and out of the lineup, Like you know, stats wise, he's like a twenty point per game score when he's played this year. But they're like happy with Mexic Kliba, Dwight Powell like that as their center rotation, and they're like, Okay, well let's get some more help here around Luca, especially with the unknown of Geleen Brunson. We'll see if they keep him and retaine him. So that's probably the thinking here. Also people pointing out Mark Cuban just wants to be able to play a pay pay a player. I should say in cryptos, now do that with Spencer did on that.
00:08:14
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that's Spencer's thing. I guess the Sacramento Kings Vivek wants to he said he can their players can accept their payment in crypto as well, So it's taking over the league here. But yeah, I mean the thing is with you know, with Porzingis is just like at this point of his career, relying on him to stay healthy for long stretchers just can't be done. He was playing some of the best basketball of his career this season when he was playing. But it's kind of like he's either out for you know, a strain or an injury or something like that that just keeps him knocked him out. He's not playing. You know, he wasn't going to play, I believe tonight or certainly in their next game. And that's just the thread with him. It's just the same.
00:08:50
Speaker 1: I am so happy the Raptors didn't treade for persons, and I feel actually bad for the rare Wizards fans out there. I just wouldn't be excited about having my teeth.
00:09:01
Speaker 2: Well, it's not.
00:09:02
Speaker 1: Really going anywhere.
00:09:02
Speaker 2: Well, I'm reading tweets here about a proposed Raptors deal, but I almost got got by a faking out there and a flow of fakey's. It's like people have started accounts today just to write bogus trade Like there's a lot of bogus traits out there. It's not just a Shami Shams Sharanya, you know, like a fake Twitter name. There's a lot of fake ones that aside. You just said you're happy that the Raps in trade for him. Yeah, I think that's the bonus. We just did the Ben Simmons James Harden breakdown and how it lists the cloud over the Sixers. It lists the cloud over the nets because Harden's been upset. I think that's where the I like Spencer Dinwiddie contributing, but the big cloud being freed from under that for the Dallas Mavericks, Porzengis wasn't playing and it's just an issue is he coming in?
00:09:52
Speaker 3: Is he coming out? Is he coming in? Is he coming out?
00:09:54
Speaker 2: Now they know who they're going to play with. At the very least, they're small Gliba and Dwight Powell, not giants at the center position, but that's who they are and.
00:10:05
Speaker 3: If they need a giant, they have one.
00:10:08
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:10:08
Speaker 1: It's a good point, all right. Any final thoughts there on MAVs Wizards again, you know, an interesting trade, doubly one I don't I didn't remember hearing a lot about and maybe a part of it. Why don't we just go to the Wizards. Other portion of this trade deadline day, Montres Harral going to the Charlotte Hornets, Lee, you can get to start it here for ish Smith and Vernon Carey.
00:10:31
Speaker 5: Yeah, well, look the Hornets.
00:10:33
Speaker 1: That's it.
00:10:34
Speaker 5: The Hornets have hit a bit of a rough patch right now. One of their biggest problems is in the middle. They need big guys. Now Montrez I wouldn't class as a traditional big, like a big stopper there, but he gives them another little pop off the bench. There, guy, I can give you sort of sixteen points and ten rebounds. He's energy, he's effort, He's that for them. So I think they get marginally better giving up ish Smith and Vernon Carey. It's like, Okay, that's fine, you can give up those Just disappointed this didn't get go to a new team, you know, that's the.
00:11:01
Speaker 1: Real Yeah, he's already played the Wizard.
00:11:03
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:11:04
Speaker 5: So anyway, I like Montre's regular season. Montrez and the Hornets. I'm glad to see they did something. I just think they needed to just improve a little bit. But they've still got that big, big problem as a defensive big they don't have other than the plumb dog, a bit of a weakness for them.
00:11:19
Speaker 1: You were a big fan of the Vernon movies. Did he ever go to the capitol? He went to camp, and he went to jail. He was always on the movie. He was always on the run. But what's his name? Yeah, yeah, exactly. I thought it was what I thought the real.
00:11:38
Speaker 2: Goal, Ernie.
00:11:41
Speaker 6: What's his Name's not Ernest, No, it's Jim Vernon, he says all the time.
00:11:57
Speaker 1: We've been here.
00:11:59
Speaker 3: I do love the Vernon in movies, you know.
00:12:03
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I thought I was smelling fume classics the.
00:12:06
Speaker 4: Potato makers talk.
00:12:10
Speaker 1: So you're saying Ernest. In all the movies that he would go somewhere, he was always saying Vern Yeah, hey Vern, who is he talking to the camera?
00:12:18
Speaker 6: Well, it was a it was a it was a commercial to start right, like he would say, hey, Vern, have you tried this new aluminum siding or whatever?
00:12:26
Speaker 2: Like, hey Vern, what do you think of this?
00:12:28
Speaker 6: That's how always talking to the camera. Yees oh.
00:12:34
Speaker 1: And then yeah, so that's where I got the carry Okay, I get it anyway anyway, Montres Harrel, we kept saying the hornet Steed, big Harnstey to big Hornetsteed a big like Lee said, he's not the big big, But do you like this little injection there? Uh at the center position. That.
00:12:51
Speaker 2: Yes, a lot of the time the ball gets dropped off the plumbly and things don't go too well. The hands just aren't there all the time from the passes from the mel and yeah, there's a lot of turnovers that happen. Yeah, a lot of vernovers anyway. But he doesn't help on the deal. He won't help on the defensive ent. He that's that's the problem. That's why he gets played off the floor. So where they try and aim for somebody other than Montres Harold, I would say, yes, some of these.
00:13:19
Speaker 1: Thought they were going for Miles Turner, but then the Sa Bona's trade happened. Was always a possibility.
00:13:25
Speaker 2: Who's also you know, yeah they are the defensively you want to play them in the playoffs because you're going to score a lot.
00:13:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's why I think this is a perfect pick up for the Charlotte Hornets.
00:13:35
Speaker 3: All offense, no defense.
00:13:37
Speaker 4: And it's a little bit smart too, because Is Schmidt's contract goes through next season. Vernon Carey's got a longer deal as well, whereas Mantres Harrold he's coming off the contract or coming off the books next year.
00:13:47
Speaker 3: It's not like the Hornets are going.
00:13:49
Speaker 4: To be a free agent destination, but at least they'll have some leeway to make some sort of a deal. Get somebody wants to play alongside LaMelo. Plus, Harold plays hard every single night, which I think the Hornets need.
00:13:59
Speaker 2: As basketball nerds, do you want is Smith being the league leader enfranchises played or do you want him tied?
00:14:06
Speaker 3: No?
00:14:06
Speaker 2: No, you don't want him. Want he's tied with Tony I don't know you like Joe Smith and Chucky Brown and Jim Jackson. Yeah, there's a five.
00:14:17
Speaker 1: I want to take that.
00:14:18
Speaker 5: It's's gonna do it the next season. He's not done in the league. He'll be a free agent.
00:14:22
Speaker 2: He signed through next year'll get traded next deadline. Yeah, as long as he gets traded to another team.
00:14:27
Speaker 1: From now on, we're calling Vernon carry junior Ernest though, all right, we can we can at least admit to that.
00:14:33
Speaker 4: Honestly, Skates, I'm not going to commit to that. No, no, because I think by the next time he comes up on the show we will have forgotten.
00:14:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, probably probably Jim Carrey always said vern Yeah, Ernest, Wow, Jim Carrey. I mean no, not Jim Carrey.
00:14:48
Speaker 2: No, I was thinking carry there for a second.
00:14:53
Speaker 3: You're thinking of Carrie's coop.
00:15:00
Speaker 1: The screen all day. Okay, Yeah, good job on the Hornets getting Montrez Harrel for ernestin Ish. Our next deal, all this one I want to talk about because this one happens sort of right at the end of the Ben Simmons James Harden trade, and that is the Boston Celtics acquiring Derek White from the San Antonio Spurs for Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford. And there might be something else involved in that, but I don't have it in front of me. The key players. Derek White got it, Okay, there's no pick involved in I don't think some sort anyway. The Spurs man, what's going on with this team up doing all these trades here on a deadline day? But what do you think about the Celtics acquiring Derek White? Obviously the biggest name here.
00:15:39
Speaker 2: I'm excited for the Celtics getting Derek, the most potential of all these guys in this trade. Derek White still young, He's got several years low. He's paid till twenty twenty five. I was surprised by that, But my Boston Celtics needs some bench help. They is either he's their best bench player right now coming off the bench, but he replaces Josh Richardson, who I know, the sort of the love for Josh Richardson has left the NBA world in some way because he just hasn't lived up to expectations.
00:16:09
Speaker 1: But he was he turned it on as of late to get traded. Well, yeah, I'll tell you that.
00:16:13
Speaker 3: He had a good season in Miami a long time ago.
00:16:15
Speaker 2: That he did, but he was he was playing all right off the bench this season to some degree. I think the Celtics are training for potential here and Derek White. Sure, I think he could be a good player, but I don't. I just I'm not gare we just haven't seen it for a couple of years. I like that the Spurs are moving on from all their glut of guards. They had to trade somebody, but they are still getting Josh Richardson, who signed through next year as well. I guess they. I'm just a little confused as to what they're doing there with Josh Richardson, that seems like a win now type of player and the Spurs aren't winning right now. But the Celtics did well here to get a young guy and Derek White.
00:16:55
Speaker 1: What do you like about this deal?
00:16:57
Speaker 5: Well? I like Derek wad. I think he probably fail a little bit behind Dejean de Murray's sort of resurgence there, or not resurgents, but his growth this season, and he sort of overtook him. Derek White dropped off just a little bit, and I think the Spurs thought they do have a lot of guards and they're going to move on. There's a little bit more here the Celtics are doing. It's sort of come through here from what was Dennis Shrewder is going to the Rockets and Daniel Tice is going back to the Boston Celtics there, so I expect then in that case, White probably starts in the backcourt there with Marcus mart which is pretty good defensively. Now you've got two really long athletic guards there in the backcourt there for the Celtics. So as far as Josh Richardson, yeah, he went to Philadelphia and was like, okay, this could be the right move. He went to Dallas, and he was in Boston. He just doesn't quite seem to work out for some reason. He looks like he's got the talent, he looks like he's a classic three and D guy, but hasn't been able to really live up to that. When he was down in Miami, it was like, this is a guy they're going to hang on to. So I think he still can be a good player, but he's starting to run out of hope a little bit with him.
00:18:00
Speaker 1: Okay, what do you think about the Celtics Spurs making this deal Derek White. That's a nice piece.
00:18:04
Speaker 4: That's a really nice piece, twenty seven years old, probably in the prime of his career right now, and it seemed like he had a little bit of potential until the Spurs kept bringing in guards that they wanted to play ahead of them. So I think that's what the Spurs are doing, is just trading away anybody who might be getting in the way of de Jon Day Murray and Devin Vessel, Josh Primo, maybe even a little bit there, but the Celtics getting Derek White, a long guard and a good defender. The Celtics have really turned it on recently, and it's because they've been playing defense. So adding another young guard out there, so between Marcus Smart, Jalen Jason, Derek White, that's a lot of arms out there on the perimeter. Wing defenders are at a premium right now in the NBA, So this is a good get.
00:18:43
Speaker 1: You're going to see the Celtics on a lot of people's lists for winners of the trade deadline guarantee that either later today or tomorrow, because I like this too for obviously what they gave up there and Josh Richardson, he is like this classic like he had been playing better as a blate, but he still goes like he goes, oh for eight, and then he's six for nine, and then he's two for seven, and then you know, he's a very respectable we'll give you a little defense five for six out there. He is just back and forth, back and forth, but had turned it around a little bit, like I said recently, and I think that helped him get traded here and they get Derek White.
00:19:12
Speaker 3: I love it.
00:19:13
Speaker 1: I think this is a great, great trade here for the Boston Celtics socially, when you pair what they had done earlier with the luxury tax shipping out of what PJ Doser and Bowl Bowl down to the Magic, so good stuff from Brad Stevens, who's this is his first headline here right as a as a GM of the team other trades. I'm sorry that keeps looking at Vernon Carey's name and that kid is Jim Varney. Okay, the Sons get Jalen Smith, Pacers get Tory Craig. This is a little minor deal here, but we thought Jalen Smith would be moved from Phoenix and we were like, what will they get back and will they pair it with Darius Sarch and what will they do in the end they bring back Tory Craig to the desert.
00:19:55
Speaker 2: What do you think tests I think this is a no risk move for the Indiana Pacers to get young guy in Jalen Smith. Why the heck not take a chance on a guy who is a high pick just a couple of years ago for Tory Craig, who is going to help a championship contender once again. Yeah, the Sun's tinkered around the edges as they we expected them to do a little bit, and they even when got a backcourt player as we'll get to along with Tory Craig. But yeah, it is unfortunate what Jalen Smith panned out to be. I mean, he was selected before Tyres Haliburton. I mean you have to hope for him that he'll find his way in Indiana and this is a good move for them.
00:20:34
Speaker 1: Trey, what do you think?
00:20:36
Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess it's cool for the Suns to bring in a guy who kind of knows their system already and has played with a lot of the guys that are there. Because this Sons team basically stretches back to the bubble, right, so those guys are pretty familiar with each other. So he should be able to slot right in as a little defensive replacement here and there. And we'll get to this other move eventually with the Suns. But I think it's good. You know, they're just messing around with the end of their rotation, getting some guys who they are.
00:20:58
Speaker 3: A little bit more comfortable with come playoff time.
00:21:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, the other move he's alluding to is they also bring in Aaron Holiday dealt in a trade exception there with the Washington Wizard. That's where he was last playing, one of the Holiday bros. So, yeah, the Suns get Tory Craigan Aaron Holiday here as they gear up for their playoff push.
00:21:13
Speaker 5: Aaron Holiday can mop up a few possessions as their point guard. That's one of the areas they don't have great depth there. They've got after Chris Paul. It's kind of Elfred Payton. So it's like, get Aaron Holiday. Why not? You can pick him up for virtually nothing, So I think it's a good smart move. When you're a championship contender, you're not making the big haymakers. You're just saying, let's get a little bit of extra help here, some depth, maybe another defender, another guy who can just help us, because they're expecting the Sons to play a good twenty twenty five games after the regular season, so you need a few extra bodies with a bit of experience, and guys can go out there and just take some possessions. So they've quietly done very very nicely today Phoenix.
00:21:50
Speaker 1: So or about fifteen minutes after the deadline officially hit there at three pm Eastern time, trades can still trickle in and maybe they are really I know you got your Twitter counts humming along, but at this point, what's the most surprising team to not make a move that Akers.
00:22:11
Speaker 2: Yes, the way they've been playing, the way they've been acting, the way they've been commenting in the media, that something has to change. Something we can't go forward with this team. Essentially, I feel like there's got to be something that's going to happen here. It's three eighteen according to my clock. When did the calls come into the league office? Something had to come in before three Eastern and we're still waiting for the details. I would be shocked if the Lakers didn't make a move, and you know, the Dennis Shrewder one was something I thought that could be done, just because he is familiar with the Lakers and because he was there. But if they don't, I do think they will fire Frank Vogel. And it's not Frank's fault, but I think they need to go into this next half of the season with something changed in their locker room because frankly, that's what they've been saying. We need something to change, and they've been vocal about that.
00:23:03
Speaker 1: The last I saw when it came to the Lakers was Ramona Shelburne saying the Lakers do have a deal available to them to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for John Wall but they are bulking out, including the additional draft assets the Rockets are asking for.
00:23:20
Speaker 3: So seven, yes.
00:23:22
Speaker 1: Yes, it would be pretty amazing if LA decided not to move Westbrook because they wanted to.
00:23:28
Speaker 2: Keep a twenty first round pick. Well, it's if Plank I supposed plays hardball. This is what happened last year at the trade deadline, when Kyle Lowry was on the table. We all thought Kyle Lowry was gone, and the Raptors supposedly wanted Taylor Horton Tucker. The Lakers said no, sir, and.
00:23:45
Speaker 5: It cost them, and it cost them badly. I think in the sas they would have loved to have had Kyle Lowry and potentially have him on the team as well this season.
00:23:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, instead of Russell Westbrook.
00:23:55
Speaker 5: If they if they made the same mistake, then you know that's there aren't problem. If they do now just turn around in five raight. Sorry, we couldn't make any trades, so you're out of here. That would just be a terrible look for this team because, as I said before, either say he shall coach for the rest of the season or fire him now. Don't leave him dangling like this and dragging him along because I think they're trading him really badly.
00:24:17
Speaker 1: Trey, were there any other teams that you're surprised haven't made a move, at least that we know of at this point, you thought the Grizzlies might be active. Any other squads?
00:24:25
Speaker 3: Are you asking me?
00:24:26
Speaker 4: Because every team in the top eight in the Eastern Conference made a trade except for the Chicago Bulls.
00:24:30
Speaker 1: I set you right up.
00:24:31
Speaker 4: M A little surprised, a little disappointed, but you know, I guess that the Bulls management is saying, we're going to take our chances in the buy out market. It's not worth pushing all of our chips in now. Apparently Casey Johnson of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that they weren't even close to including Patrick Williams in any of these deals, which would have been their biggest chip, no doubt about it.
00:24:53
Speaker 3: So the Bulls got.
00:24:55
Speaker 4: Smoked a lot in January, like they got destroyed by the Nets, they got destroyed by the Warriors. That a four game losing streak kind of came at the right time, because at the end of December, I was likely aoah, let's trade all these young guys and try and win a championship right now. Then they ran into a bunch of the great teams in the league and found out they're probably just a good team right now. So yeah, that's a little disappointing, but smart long term vision, all things considered. Honestly, the same thing for the Memphis Grizzlies. They're overachieving right now. Keep the vibes immaculate, if you will, So keep rolling with Kyle Anderson.
00:25:26
Speaker 3: See if you can do anything in the buy out market.
00:25:28
Speaker 4: It's gonna be heated in the buy out market. All these old vets who will come in and contribute four or five minutes a game, and we'll talk ourselves into it being the biggest deal in the world. I'm still hyper Larry Sanders going to the Cats gonna be throwing those ooops, just like Chris Anderson any other teams.
00:25:43
Speaker 1: Lee that you're at this point. Shock didn't do anything. We didn't think the Warriors would probably do it. Yeah, you don't have them. I assume the Knicks. I guess with their record and the way they're playing. They already did the Cam Reddish movie. Yeah, beat everybody does a punch well gay and not play.
00:26:01
Speaker 5: That's The problem here is they did this a couple of weeks ago where it was like, Okay, they're building towards something here, we're going to see a significant move, and there was nothing really close. We didn't see any sort of rumors or whispers about them. So they're set with who they've got. They've traded for a guy, they've given up a first round pick for him as well, and he's not doing anything. So the Atlanta Hawks as well, I think their recent wind streak, the recent form probably had travish Lincoln the front office. They're saying, you know what, maybe we're actually not too bad. We just needed to get everybody healthy. DeAndre Hunt is a huge change on that team when he's healthy. He's a two way player. So I think the Hawks is another team. But yeah, the Lakers, I think they were looking around and just seeing if they could fleece somebody, and everyone's like, no, thanks.
00:26:47
Speaker 1: No thanks. They've got gun.
00:26:49
Speaker 2: I like Trey Alude to the Bulls didn't make a move in the Eastern Conference. I love how everyone's gone for it in the East, and like the Celtics, we talked about just fortified that bench. Now you've got Daniel Tice as your backup big. You've got Derek White as your backup guard to go along with Grant Williams, who's their PJ Tucker light there. So those three guys coming off the bench behind the J's and Marcus smartin Horford, Robert Williams looking good. Everybody going for it. You gotta like that, everybody feeling like they've got a chance. Like it is wide open and a lot of teams do have a chance. In that Eastern Conference.
00:27:25
Speaker 1: It feels like of the thirty teams in the league, like I don't know, twenty you were active today at some point or another making even if it was a minor deal, there was a lot of these.
00:27:34
Speaker 4: Isn't that the exact same number of teams that make the play in tournament. Wow, that was a smart move by Adam Silver.
00:27:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, got us some good stuff here on trade deadline day. I think we can call it there. You know, even if other trades trickle in, unless it's a biggie that we didn't see coming, unless it's a deal, unless it's a I don't know who else, is not going to be a little it's not gonna be Windy.
00:27:57
Speaker 5: Windy is also signing that the the Rockets and the like has talked but couldn't get anything done.
00:28:02
Speaker 1: Okay, what I was gonna say is, if nothing else happens, I think we will just see everybody. Tomorrow morning. We'll regroup, we'll do the Drop podcast. We'll probably do winners and losers of the NBA trade deadline ourself. We'll have some more thoughts on some of these deals. Maybe we'll even hear from some of these players and what was going on in their former teams. Who knows. We'll also have all of your Friday Drop staples, rapid fire fun tweet of the night. Yeah, and what else. I don't know, my brain is completely shut off.
00:28:35
Speaker 2: Talk about the draft that happens tonight, Jesus great. Yeah, Lebron and k D should be interesting. Hear them on the microphone, see.
00:28:47
Speaker 1: What type of mood they're in. Lebron's probably gonna like actually try and trade one of his Lakers players. Legit the regular season, forget the draft, forget the all start getting Okay, I've got Tail and Horton talk. What are you interested in, Katie? Yeah, so we'll talk about that. We'll talk about the trade deadline, our winters and losers a whole lot more. That's tomorrow ten am Eastern live here on YouTube, and we turn it into a podcast as soon as humanly possible.
00:29:11
Speaker 3: Like the vid.
00:29:12
Speaker 1: Subscribe to No Dunks on YouTube, leave your boys a five star rating and review wherever you download, and listen to No Dunks Fun Day again.
