MOVIE REVIEWS
We also have plenty of movie talk this week!
This week, we take a look at Runner, the new action-comedy thriller starring Alan Ritchson, Owen Wilson, Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Peta Sergeant, Geraldine Hakewill, Kate Box, and Cecilia Toussaint. Directed by Scott Waugh, Runner follows former soldier and high-end courier Hank Malone (Alan Ritchson), who finds himself teamed up with organ transplant manager Ben Bishop (Owen Wilson). The unlikely pair must transport a time-sensitive medical delivery while being hunted by a ruthless cartel. With a little girl's life hanging in the balance, Hank and Ben find themselves caught in a deadly race against time filled with action, danger, betrayal, and plenty of obstacles standing between them and their destination.
We discuss the movie's action, story, performances, and the unlikely chemistry between Ritchson and Wilson. Is Runner worth the trip to the theater? Tune in to hear our thoughts!
Carlos also gives his review of Jason D. – Legend of the White Dragon, the superhero/fantasy film starring Jason David Frank, Aaron Schoenke, Ciara Hanna, Mark Dacascos, and Michael Madsen. We discuss the story, characters, action, and the legacy of the late Jason David Frank.
Plot: A fallen hero is drawn back into a battle against a powerful enemy as he takes on the mantle of the White Dragon and fights to protect those around him. We break down the movie and give you Carlos’ take on whether it delivers the superhero experience fans were hoping for.
Then Lafayette takes us behind the scenes of one of horror cinema’s most infamous productions with a review of the documentary about the making of The Exorcist II: The Heretic. We look at the troubled production, the creative decisions, the legacy of the original The Exorcist, and what went into making one of horror's most controversial sequels.
