What we're Enjoying
Jay enjoyed Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, praising its epic scope, fresh interpretation of the ancient tale, and the timeless themes woven throughout the adventure. As expected from Nolan, the film delivers spectacle while giving audiences plenty to think about long after the credits roll. Shua has been reading The Traveler by Joseph Eckert, a thought-provoking time travel novel that explores family, sacrifice, and the consequences of moving through time in unexpected ways. While some mysteries remain unanswered, the emotional journey and fascinating concepts make it a memorable read for any time travel fan.
MCU Location Scout
MCULocationScout.com is Jay's ongoing project documenting and exploring real-world filming locations used throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe and related Marvel television productions. Through detailed research, photos, and travel guides, fans can discover where their favorite Marvel moments were filmed. Lately Jay has been adding locations from Spider-Noir, with some familiar locations that were used in other noir films. And don't forget to check out all of Jay's Sci-Fi Saturdays on RetroZap. Enjoy Taking the Day Off
School can wait. This week Jay and Shua take a day off to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ferris Bueller's Day Off! They revisit John Hughes' beloved comedy with behind-the-scenes stories, memorable Chicago filming locations, fascinating trivia, and a look at why the film continues to resonate four decades later.
And they explore who the movie's true hero really is, how our perspective on Ferris changes as we grow older, whether his famous day off could happen in today's world, and even test their knowledge with a fun game about what everything in Ferris' adventure actually cost in 1986. It's a nostalgic celebration filled with laughs, movie memories, and plenty of reasons to save Ferris.
