Eyes On Avs is back! After a two-month hiatus, Cam and Eric return to break down a busy Colorado Avalanche offseason and look ahead to a new season with plenty of questions surrounding the roster. The guys discuss the departures of players like Jack Drury, Ross Colton and Valeri Nichushkin, Colorado's push to become a bigger and more physical team, where new additions such as Jaden Schwartz could fit, and how Jared Bednar might construct the forward lines. They also dive into the Avalanche's NHL-worst-ranked prospect pool and whether young players like Gavin Brindley, TJ Hughes and goaltender Ilya Nabokov could play important roles in the organization's future. Then comes the big question: what will Cale Makar's next contract look like? Cam and Eric debate how much Makar could command, whether he might take a shorter or team-friendly deal, how Quinn Hughes' contract situation could affect negotiations, and why having Joe Sakic involved could be important. Plus, the guys discuss bringing Brent Burns back, his pursuit of the NHL consecutive-games record, possible defensive pairings, and some of the biggest storylines they'll be watching as the Avalanche prepare for another run at the Stanley Cup.
