Darren Lehmann is set to return to coaching signing a deal with Big Bash outfit the Brisbane Heat.
Lehmann told Macquarie Sports Radio, "It's fantastic, for me it's getting back into the game and I love coaching, I'm looking forward to hopefully having some good results.
"First job is to come up with blokes we need to tie up from a young, local point of view and then search overseas now that Brendon McCullum is gone and hopefully Mujeeb (Ur Rahman) will come back."
In response to getting McCullum into a coaching role with the Heat, Lehmann said, "He's always welcome in our change rooms, I got him over going back nine years ago with the Heat.
"I love him, I love the way he goes about it, he's an entertainer, he's good fun to be around, knows the game, we'll try and find something for him for sure," he said.
On the BBL salary cap Lehmann said he was hopeful of an increase for marquee players which he believes the competition needs.
This will be Lehmann's first coaching appointment after resigning in the aftermath of the ball tampering scandal last year.
Lehmann, who has worked with Macquarie Sports Radio over the summer as a commentator, first confirmed to Drive last week that he was in talks to replace Daniel Vettori as Brisbane Heat coach.
Speaking with Mark Allen and David Schwarz, the 49-year-old admitted he will be getting the best of both worlds.
"I love coaching and I love working on radio so you get the best of both worlds in the BBL if you manage to land one of those jobs.
