אודות פרק זה
A blind detective cracks a murder case where the evidence literally melts away. Brian Donlevy stars in Out of Control, a tense Suspense thriller about blackmail, political ambition, and a fiendishly clever kill that leaves almost no trace.
After hearing a strange nighttime sound near a mountain lodge, Captain Duncan McLean starts connecting two deaths, a vanished alibi, and a woman who seems too composed to be innocent. What follows is a slow-burn trap that turns a simple car crash into a deadly puzzle involving sleeping pills, ice, a mountain road, and a killer who thinks they have outsmarted everyone.
You’ll hear:
how McLean uses sound, smell, and deduction instead of sight to piece together the crime
why Walter Crane’s blackmail threats put Marcia Fillmore and her husband in impossible danger
the chilling method that makes the murder look like an accident
how Sheriff Blackmer, the Fillmores, and McLean’s police dog Dreist all factor into the final confrontation
Brian Donlevy anchors the episode as Captain Duncan McLean, the sightless investigator whose sharp instincts turn every tiny detail into evidence. The story also features the tangled, high-stakes performance of Marcia Fillmore, whose lies, fear, and love make her one of the most complicated figures in the case.
If you love old-time radio, locked-room style mysteries, and suspense built on atmosphere and misdirection, this episode delivers a classic thrill right up to the final reveal. Press play for a noir-leaning whodunit where the most dangerous thing in the room is what nobody can see.
