אודות פרק זה
We debate whether ABS (automated ball-strike system) is finally going to fix what's broken behind the plate. Plus, a bold prediction: stolen base records are coming this season, and AI might be why.
Topics covered this week:
- The ABS debate: the case for removing umpires from ball-strike calls entirely
- The strange logistics of measuring players standing straight up for the strike zone
- Who should hold the challenge - catchers, hitters, or nobody?
- Why AI pitch-tipping is about to cause a stolen base explosion
- The return of contact hitting and small ball as the counter-trend to three-outcome baseball
- Mid-at-bat pitcher switches: underused strategic weapon or gimmick?
