So tasty. We're ⁓ coming off the ⁓ 4th of July holiday weekend. We all everybody have fingers, 10, all 10, all 10 still intact, everybody's good, so off to another fun-filled week. Jeff! Yo Tommy. How was your weekend? It was great. ⁓ w I I know you guys will find this hard to believe, but Lake Festival? Yes. Nice. We're down in the lake. Really? ⁓ yeah. The ⁓ son in law, daughter in law, the son and future daughter in law all made it down there and ⁓ We had fun. It was probably like it was up here hotter than three hells on Friday. Just humid and get in the lake, I know, ⁓ first world problems. Jump in the lake and there's and there's no relief. No, it was it was great. ⁓ the lake was absolutely packed, which was ⁓ good to see. yeah, it was good. Good time. Fireworks fireworks down there? Yes. So they're down there by the marina. I I don't Go Yeah, you watch it from the house. I think you've said that before. Yeah, and we see a little bit of it, but they piled ⁓ my car seat seven. They piled ⁓ nine in there to go down and ⁓ there you go. Yeah. Had a sober driver there and a sober driver back. So yeah, they said it was absolutely awesome. And ⁓ where did Jake sit? Just curious. ⁓ who? Jake. ⁓ in the middle. Yeah. He he was in the middle. ⁓ top or bottom? ⁓ bottom. Okay. That's where he likes it. ⁓ That's where he likes it. So yeah, it was it was a good weekend. Traffic was ⁓ surprisingly I mean it was heavy coming and going, but it was no accidents, no slowdowns. Yeah, which is surprising on the fourth 'cause that's usually the busiest travel weekend. Well yeah, you get all that traffic and people just run into each other. Yep, yep, yep. So yeah, it was good. Thanks for asking, Tom. Yeah. How about you, Linko? I'll I'll join you with a chimpagon here. There you go. ⁓ had Friday off. So was it Friday when we were at your place? Yeah. Doing some construction work? ⁓ yeah, we put a door in. Yeah, we're At the Lazy River? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Lazy River's dry. A allegedly originally thought to be a two man job. It was not. It could have been. I mean extra extra hands always help. Extra hands never hurt. Two two two people could have got it done, but it it would have taken you a while, boys. Well, you're not wrong. ⁓ so yeah. ⁓ Sunday ended up at a lake myself not by myself, but ended up at a lake as well. ⁓ a little Morse reservoir up on ⁓ Sunday. So we were gonna go ⁓ originally Saturday, but a b ⁓ they anyway. Well too too many people. Weather unknown. Yeah yeah, weather unknown and and they they were gonna have a f like a full boats on Saturday. and we're like, yeah, we're not We're not doing that. You would have to sit like Jake. Yeah, we would have to sit ⁓ yeah, nine in a seven man boat. Yeah. So whoa. Whoa. ⁓ so yeah, we went up Sunday and another man in the boat. That's a movie somewhere, I think. Just ⁓ just us and the friends, and and yeah, hung out. Literally floated in the water for about three or four hours and ⁓ and came home. Awesome. So yeah. Good weekend. It's a good time. Yeah, nothing wrong with that. How about you, Brett? ⁓ beers with the parents, put in that door at the Lazy River House. Hey, I almost sent you a t text. You guys had text that I was trying to mess with the door to figure out how it would look bad. Like, ⁓ shit, it fell down, but didn't happen. So had AI. ⁓ there you go for It w it wasn't that. One more thing. I was actually just happy it was still standing up and the smoke detectors weren't going off. There you go. So that was what is up? With that. Are they hardwired? ⁓ smoke detector. Everybody's asked that question. Yes, we all are. Super sensitive smoke detector. And when you took it out, why was it still going off? And when you put it in the car and it wasn't going off, why was it going off when you went out to your car? So I took it. Wrapped in a blanket. S same thing happened to me. so I go over that next morning 'cause ⁓ neighbor's like, Hey, it's going off again. Like, man, sorry, fine. Didn't worked there for a while, threw up my car, driving home, at a stoplight, and it scares the shit out of you. yeah. So did you get a new one? Did you get new ones? ⁓ wow. I ordered one, yeah. ⁓ thank goodness. Yeah. That's awesome. So I don't know. And ⁓ I don't know, eat some food through some ⁓ I've had a disappointing summer actually with the kids being gone. ⁓ yeah. I haven't used my grill that much because cooking for two is ⁓ I don't know, a little different. Yeah, I can see that. One and a half. ⁓ current wife doesn't eat a whole lot, unfortunately for me. ⁓ all right, speaking of that, Tommy, you eat anything this weekend. I did. ⁓ Friday we played golf. That was fun. ⁓ Friday morning early. Seven ⁓ five tea time. Were you the first ones on the course? ⁓ no, surprisingly. People are dumb. It's crazy, man. Actually, as we were teeing off, ⁓ I pl I was playing with my brother in law and my ⁓ nephew. And as we were teeing off, my nephew said, Hey, so and so is just ⁓ like two groups ahead of us. Holy crap. Friend of his and his dad started six forty five? What the hell? We were at seven ⁓ five, so it had to been something like that. And there were people loading up golf carts when I got there. So anyhow, ⁓ so we did that. That was fun. And ⁓ hotter than three hells. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ out there even at seven ⁓ five in the morning. So that was good. Hummity. Yep. ⁓ then we did the door thing, which we've all talked about and that was an experience. Saturday went down to Greensburg and hung out with some friends down there, swam, shotguns. There you go. Learned all about an F R T which is a Fart. I've heard of an F A R T. Yeah, it's a forced recall trigger. Which is a legal machine gun. ⁓ really? Yep. So it was fun. And so yeah. You're blowing shit up, dude. We we shot the shit out of that thing. Yeah. ⁓ burnt through a couple clips. That was a good time. And then we shot fireworks. And came home Sunday. So yeah. ⁓ Sad night down there, huh? We did. It must have been a good time. Anybody see good fireworks, Jeff the Lake Does they did help me out. I did not see great fireworks. No. Yeah. I don't know. I mean normally 'cause I heard a lot of the communities because of the weather The cloud cover was so low and a lot of the fireworks were actually in the clouds, which sucks. It does have to be the right conditions. So as as I get older, fireworks, no no bueno. I love them, dude. I I do too. I do. I always love fireworks. Yeah. Because ⁓ my dogs do not like I get the dog thing. Can't you throw them a gummy? No. You know what we try we t that dude no gummies don't do Nothing on it. We used to knock Jameson out on that stuff. The cocaine in the gummies, they kinda counter each other a little bit. Cocaine dog instead of cocaine bear. So my son's my son's dog been down there the last seven, eight years for ⁓ fire or for July fourth. Right. And he's a spaz dog anyway, and he's terrified of Right. So a guy right behind our house shoots him off all the time. Yep. Well, I saw something on Facebook, some social media page, that if you take tennis balls, throw ⁓ in your dryer, take a big beach towel, tie it in a knot. Beat the dog with it. Yes. You beat the shit out of your dog until they're unconscious. Yeah. Yeah. So about so about a half hour before fireworks start, you you throw that in your dryer, put it on cool setting, you don't want it on heat and it makes a constant ⁓ would scare the shit out of my dog and he'd be shaking before the fireworks even started. I hear you though the right setting you get used to. Nope. Yeah. Yeah, you I think you can also go a prison trick where you put batteries in a sock and just beat the dog. Yeah. And then he won't care about the fireworks. When I heard tie tie a knot in the towel, I would thought that's totally different. We we did it. We didn't. We're about the normal market boy. You know how small small our house is down there and it was louder than shit. ⁓ fortunately the guy that lives back behind us didn't set off fireworks, but there were enough fireworks going off around us in the neighborhood and he was actually I shut the dryer off. I go, This this is too loud. I I can't listen to this for for thirty fucking minutes. There's no way. Jeff needs a gun. Yeah. It was it was terrorizing me. Yeah. I had PTSD. ⁓ but no, I think the dog's gotten to the age now where he's kinda chill about it. I mean he was nervous about it, but not nearly as bad as what he used to be. ⁓ because he knew it was July fourth. Yes. Okay. Yeah. He's like, son of a bitch. I got this circled on my calendar every day. My dog always he it doesn't bother him. Really? But when he hears them, he immediately goes to the door and wants to go out. But he does that with every noise. So it's just another noise to go see what's going on. See what it is. Yeah. My dog hates him, so I hate him. Yeah. ⁓ sorry, all all of your dogs? ⁓ I mean quiggly has to be worse than Yes, by far. But ⁓ the the oldest dog, he's thirteen and a half. There's not a whole lot that gets him. Fireworks get him. Really? And really loud storms get him. But y like a normal, you know, thunder here and there. He's kinda like, Yeah, no big deal. But yeah, he He doesn't freak out, but he You know, jumps on the couch, gets right next to you and be Hey man. Hey, something's going on. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. How old is he? He's he's like thirteen, thirteen and a half. Yeah, I won't have to worry about it next year. But that's what we've been saying for about two two or three years. Wow. Just saying. I've been saying about my cat too. Brett's got a dog like that too. Yeah. Still hanging on. Still hanging on. All right. Now it's time for everyone. Seventeen ninety eight. ⁓ the US Marine Corps. ⁓ is this the Dead Marines? I think so. ⁓ okay. ⁓ yeah, so the US Marine Corps, ⁓ they began with Continental Marines of the American Revolutionary War in seventeen seventy five. Okay. both the Continental Navy and the Continental Marines were then disbanded in seventeen six ⁓ what's that say? Seventeen eighty three. so yeah, after the American Revolution. So you're like, we don't need these anymore. Yeah. Disbanded seventeen seventeen eighty three. ⁓ so the US Marine Corps is reinstituted by the Congress in preparation for war with France. So we didn't need him for that. ⁓ Didn't know it though. I mean they thought they did. We sent one dude out there. Yeah, we're good. They waved the flag. So yeah. So they were here, then they weren't, now they were, and now I think they're still around. Yeah. I guess. I I think pretty sure. The range absolutely, man. ⁓ yeah, I I was joking. ⁓ they are still around? Okay. I'm pretty sure. I thought ⁓ verification. I thought the ⁓ Sky Skynet or Sky Space Force. Spa I thought Space Force took over the Marine Corps. No, that's the Air Force. ⁓ okay, cool. ⁓ this weekend is the hottest day in the US nineteen thirteen. ⁓ man. Guess the temperature? Yep. And we're at. Death Valley, I know that. Correct. One hundred and thirty-seven degrees. Okay. ⁓ it feels like a really good guess. 134.5. Okay. I'm going twenty-eight six. Sorry, Jeff, you went over one hundred thirty-four. Damn it. Wow, you were almost right there. That's a couple weeks in a row there for for Mr. K. ⁓ there you go. Hey, this week and history, nineteen sixty-two, the first privately fed. Financed satellite. ⁓ Telstar. ⁓ yeah. Telstar one is launched thirteen days later. It was used for the first commercial transmission of live television via satellite between the US and Europe. Wow. So like so they didn't waste any time. Get that shit up there thirteen days later. They're already ⁓ Gotta make money. TV for I gotta pay that bill to make finance, innit? ⁓ was also used to ⁓ relay the first satellite telephone call ⁓ between US Vice President Lyndon Johnson and the chairman of ATT at the time. There we go. ⁓ Telstar one remained active for only seven months because it was damaged by a high altitude nuclear test conducted by the United States. So we launched We shot our own shit out of the sky and killed the seven. And killed the yes. Thought you were gonna say it was repoed seven months. No, actually, although no longer operational, it remains in Earth orbit. ⁓ it's supposed to be space junk. A bunch of space junk out there. You never see pictures of that though. I know. I wondered that often. Hmm. Anyway. There's a the joke about junk there somewhere. There is Hey, this week industry nineteen seventy nine, Skylab, speaking of junk, crashes to Earth. The eighty two ton US space station launched in nineteen seventy three, so six years earlier, ⁓ crashes to earth. About twenty two tons of it were expected expected to survive reentry, prompting much public concern. However, it landed safely over the Indian Ocean and Australia. And who the hell cares about Australia, right? Well it landed in Australia and I I believe they charged the United States. The Shire of Esperance in Western Australia fined NASA four hundred dollars for littering. For littering. And we never paid hundred dollars. Yeah. For twenty two tons of ⁓ yes, of space debris. Wow. Yeah. They they used to sell ⁓ I remember Skylibe Surviv Survival Skyvive Skylight. Yeah, yeah, that was a thing. Something like that. Yeah, we're shirts and everything. Yeah, we're we're ten years old at that time, Jeff. You're twenty already, sorry, but I had a beard. The like I was worried. I was shaving then at ten. Of course you were. You're like they don't know where it's gonna land. I'm like, well what if it you know Yeah, what if it's my house. What if? Yeah. Anyway. ⁓ this we're gonna stream nineteen eighty five. ⁓ new Coke. ⁓ I think it it it actually stops in nineteen eighty five. The worst marketing ever. Ever. There's a whole documentary on it. ⁓ no, they brought it back. So after a public outcry and poor sales, Coca-Cola announces it is bringing back its original formula and calling it Coca-Cola Classic. The Coke flavor. had been changed to new coke less than three months earlier. That's a lot lasted three months. I remember it being real short. Yeah. So New Coke remained available and was renamed Coke two Coke I I in nineteen ninety two and then discontinued altogether in two thousand two. So there you have it. That's what can did. ⁓ There's one more story. No, you're good. You're good. No, you're good. You're good. Jeff has to so this one. The ⁓ report came out on the news. A Fort Wayne man cut off his penis. What? Lit it on fire, and then used it to set his mom's garage on fire. Again, what? Christopher Pedon, P E D E N, is charged with one count of arson. Now not only did you cut off your dick, you get charged with arson. He's not peedin' pedin anybody. According to charging doc documents, investigators were called to a fire at a detached garage back in May. The homeowner told him that it doesn't have electrical power and the only accelerant would be a can of gasoline or a penis. Or a flaming penis. It's either gas officers or a flaming penis. This true guess this garage has no dick. As this was going on, Fort Wayne cops were investigating a stabbing and the alleged victim was Pedon. Investigators say that while at the hospital, Pedon said he had lied about the stabbing. So he lied about cutting his dick off. So he lied that somebody stabbed him and lobbed his dick off? He told investigators that around two AM he went to the garage, cut off his penis with a kitchen knife. He s he said he then poured gasoline on it and set it on fire on the floor of the garage. He then left and started walking away from the property until he encountered police. So Pedum was arrested last week and his bond set at ten thousand dollars. He has a posted bond. All right, so that's a grand, right? I think we should get ⁓ he's posted. We should get him we should get him on this show. Yes, absolutely. We need to. So wait a minute, but you're you're gonna set your parents garage on fire. Well it's d it's detached, so sure that makes sense. And so is his car. You needed your detachable penis to start the fire. Because it's easier to dip in the accelerant that way. Have you ever tried to get one of those I don't have anything to start this fire with. Go get a knife. I'm just gonna cut my dick off and do it with that. How does that thought process go? Because he thought it was he's thinking wood. It was wood and he's like wood wood set will set off. I don't know. Once he's put that knife to it, I don't think it was wood. He was methed up. That's methed up. I hope they released cut coat knives if it's a good knife. But I bet it wasn't that and how the hell do you walk away after cutting your dick off You walk away until the cops find you. ⁓ How do you I want to see the toxicology? And his mu shit. His mugshot looked like he was like Hey, how's it going? Somewhat normal normal. What how? He wasn't screaming in pain. He wasn't doubled over in a hospital gurney. He was like just standing there staring at the camera, like, hey, hey, what's up? Hey man. So I mean, guarantee you he's a catcher. When he's in there, right? He took away all the pitching. He ain't pitching. He's no a hey, I'm not pitching today. He sure as hell ain't batting either. What the frick. That's that's unreal, man. Wow, all right. After we got through the fourth of July, then we watched Monday night the United States squander the opportunity to advance in the World Cup, which after much Hullabaloo and ⁓ getting the player reinstated that was so, so important that mattered. Florian Balogun. Yeah, which mattered not. ⁓ so yeah. So Link, you watched it, I guarantee you. I did watch it, yes. We watched it, but the audio was not lined up with the video, which was very disappointing. and kind of painful for a while. But what do you think, Link? I thought it was embarrassing. Yeah. From the way they played? I think the previous four games to win it all. I mean they had they hadn't looked that bad the entire World Cup. I mean their defense was awful. Their offense was just as bad. ⁓ get at it. The moment was the moment was too big for them. I I agree. I I don't think look like they they it looked like they weren't prepared. That's that's how I that's how they look. They look scared. Yeah. I don't think Belgium necessarily out played it. I mean they did scoreboard wise. Sure. But I I d I don't know. I mean the US just they stepped on their dick too many times. Speaking of maybe maybe they should have lopped their dicks off before they're throwing it at somebody. ⁓ too many mistakes, too many mental lapses. That so that the US defense, ⁓ they played super aggressive the first four games. Like somebody somebody got the ball and they're like defender, I'm coming at you to get the ball. They were clueless. Not not against Belgium. Yeah. Like, ⁓ you have the ball? Okay, well just y you just come to me when you're ready. Right. And I'll just kind of keep backing up. I I just I didn't understand. ⁓ super passive on defense. That that was a thing to me. Gave up goals. Just goals that shouldn't have happened. Right. The first goal alone, three defenders just sat there and watched the ball land on the ground, which led to the first goal. what what's his face? Freeze the goalie. Yeah. Literally come talking about stepping on your dick. I mean that dude. Yeah, that was horrible. What? You're fucking you you're fucking World Cup goalie on your US national team, and that's how you decide to play that ball? Come on. And then just and then the the last goal. Okay, so the part to that I didn't get is that it looked like he c he approached the ball and then he hesitated. He he kind of he kicked the ground. Yeah, but when you're when you're in that moment and they're You know it's wide open all the way to the goal. You gotta get that ball as far the fuck away as possible. Get it out however you get it. If he kicks it, ⁓ everything's fine. Yeah. If he kicked it like all the way down the field. He just didn't kick it. Yeah. And then ⁓ Chris Richards, that last goal, literally just gave the ball to Belgium's all time leading scorer in the World Cup. ⁓ was it Lukaka? Lukaku is that guy's last name? ⁓ is that the right pronunciation? Lukaka. Lukak out. R Rumelou. Romalu. ⁓ anyway, basically just said, Hey, here you go. You can have the ball and score if you want. I mean, you're their all time leading scorer, so here you go. I was almost at home pad your stats. I was like, what the b like they literally gave them three goals. That and I I don't know if I texted this or not, but I said it out loud at home. I like, This game should be one to one and going into extra time. If the US and they didn't even play that great. Right. I mean Anyway, just gave them three goals. You're not gonna win any World Cup games in the in the knockout rounds ⁓ to where they were playing the way they did. It's just awful. So I guess forty minute forty million eyeballs were on it. I would guess, yeah, believe it or not, forty million eyeballs watched. That seems low. Forty million people watched it. I mean that's less than a million people per state. That's I I heard it today on No, yeah, I'm just saying that seems low to me. So let's say half of those people were watching it like me, casual fan. Right. You know, I'm I'm here to watch the United States. It's our country. I'm gonna root them on. Yep. I think it's detrimental to soccer in the United States. I we're never gonna be elite at this game. Never gonna be. Where were you two weeks ago? Well no, I I never said that we had a stranger. You wanted to call it USA USA. Yes. I yeah, I'm all USA USA. Don't get me wrong rooting for the home team, but that was embarrassing. How do they not get politic ⁓ politic ⁓ allegedly their team leader? Yeah. He took him out of the game. How the hell do you not get him more involved in the game? Yeah. I mean he barely touched the ball in the first half. And then he got hurt. He hurt his cause he kicked the ground or what or he kicked somebody's leg. Whatever. Yeah. But I'm like, how do you not get him more involved? I heard he would not even be a starter on some of the the top four or five World Cup teams that maybe that are still playing. That he would not even be on that a starter on that team. ⁓ my statement when I'm like, no, US isn't winning. They don't have a star. Mm-hmm. And you say what you want. I I I don't know much about the Messi Ronaldo argument, but there's there's two camps. Sure. It's Jordan LeBron, right? Who's the best ever type thing. To see Messi play at the end of that Argentina game, he does everything for them, by the way. Corner kicks. ⁓ yeah. He's he's not He's much different than the guy from Norway. Mm-hmm. Holland. Holland. Erling. Erling Holland. Stud. Yeah. But you know, that guy is waiting just to score. He's not taking corn. He's not so but those guys are stars in the elite leagues. Right. Right. So they're already top of the top. The US has nobody to do that. Yeah. And probably to your point Will we ever I ⁓ there's a reason that they're not on those teams because they're not good enough to be on those teams. Yeah, yeah. So here here's the whole here's another Before you say anything, I just want to understand something. Where this will take this take this will take a while. No, it won't. Where do the US men's national team do they just play on teams in cities around the US throughout the regular season? Or is this a team they just put together to play in the World Cup? How does I mean what do they do the rest of the how do they build the team? Yeah. How d where does that team come from? So almost every team is very similar that way. Like you've the like I said, me the top stars, Messi's different 'cause he now plays in the US. Right. But ⁓ they play in the Premier Leagues overseas. So like the elite levels. They do play. Not as a team. No, but as individuals. Right. I see London. You're from France. Right. So it's it's a mix of the elite players around the world. Okay. But then when you go to play for your country, you have to go through qualifying phases and that's kind of the big thing with expanding from thirty two to forty eight. There's more teams in. But so does everybody on the US team play in the Premier League? ⁓ no. No, no. I I don't know. Or some of ⁓ just some guys that play like MSL or Yeah. Yeah. It's a it's a little of everything in LA and professional soccer players. I mean, but right. But what do they that's what I'm wondering. But what w at what level? Right? Because professional soccer in the US isn't professional soccer in ⁓ yeah. ⁓ I get it. I I know you know what I mean. Yeah, I I I'm South America. My guess without any real knowledge is that's ⁓ what do we I guess we have baseball to equate it to. We don't have anything that has multiple levels like that. Right, right. ⁓ major league baseball are those leagues, and then we're probably single A, maybe. ⁓ okay. I think the gap is significant. Yeah. You can tell by the way those guys handle the ball. Yep. Yeah. Like Messi's the I've learned turn is a that's a that's a great turn. That's a great turn. Yeah. Never heard that term, but once you see it, you're like, ⁓ I get I get what that means. You can see play out. And the first touch is pretty critical a lot of times. Messi's taking a ball from 30 yards away that's hooking and puts it stops it. Puts his left hand on his foot, stops it completely and the cha cha on top of it. Yeah. Right. You're like, holy shit, that's incredible. Yeah. So what what I heard a a little bit on Sports Talk Radio was soccer is a lot of these countries only sports where we have football, basketball, baseball, soccer. Not only. That's not fair. It's by far the most major sports. Yeah. I mean a lot of these countries cricket is very big. Okay. Yep. Yeah, I I'm just yeah, that yeah. But it's it's the biggest sport in their country. It's what all the kids play. Right. They're not playing basketball. They're not it's our f our football bat you're right. We we have multiples. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean Japan has ⁓ baseball baseball. Yep, yep, yep. So that so this game or ⁓ round of sixteen, I guess, seems to be the game that US is kind of stuck on. Yeah. That we can't get past. Right. So they hired the the coach Mauricio Pachatino. ⁓ yeah. So Mauricio. They hi they hired him a couple of years ago. To basically get them past the round of sixteen to get them to the next level. He kicked power aid real well. Yeah, he kicked power aid all right. Yeah, he hurt his toe also. So dude's dude's getting paid ⁓ for two years. He had a two year contract, six mil a year per year. Wow. To to basically get the team the exact same spot that they that they have gotten before. What's it? I he's coaching somewhere else, but he coach elsewhere. 'Cause I mean he's gotta be coaching somewhere. He's got to be Argentina. Yeah, he was on a he was coaching another national team, I think. ⁓ was he? ⁓ and then there's some disagreements with the direction the team is going. ⁓ the the players and the direction they were going with players and stuff. He I think he was like, No, we we should get this guy or we shouldn't get that guy. And whoever else was above him is like, No, no, no, we're we're we're doing it anyway, whether you like it or not, coach. Yeah. And so he's like, F you, I'm leaving then. So that team that goes to the world the actual World Cup, that's not necessarily the whole team that that qualif because the qualifications go on for two years or however long it goes on. Yeah. So the team that actually is put together for the World Cup may not be the team that's correct the play the same players that That's correct. That did the qualifying rounds. So I can tell you the way it works in wrestling, Olympic wrestling is The US has to qualify a weight class. They have to qualify every single weight class. Mm-hmm. You might be the one that qualifies qualifies us by winning a certain international tournament or whatever, but you might lose the wrestle off to actually be the Olympic person. Okay. So I think there there's gotta be some level that of of that for every sport in the US. Gotcha. Right. Gotcha. Seems kinda unfair though. Yeah. Like, ⁓ are you qualified to get us here? But you're not playing. unless you're goalie because we might need another one of those. Yeah, all right. Disappointing. So I I know Link you'll watch and Brett you'll probably watch. Tom, will you watch the rest? Dude, the Archentina game. Holy crap. I didn't see the first half. The la i if if you could If soccer was condensed down to like thirty minutes and the last twenty minutes of that game were ridiculous. You got I'm sure you got notes hit. Well, I mean, no, I think soccer would be more fun if it was shorter. I really do. Because and you've said it, second half of the game is when all the excitement happens, right? Yeah, it's f it's funny. I think they shorten that game. I think it gets more exciting through Maybe the whole for us. Yeah. For for us for a short attention span. Yes. Yes, exactly. And I say us, I mean y US sports fans. Well, I mean, we'll watch a three hour football game, right? But Yeah, but there's always action. There's always a and that's what I was thinking when I was watching that US Belgium game. There's you know, there's fumbles, there's this, there's that. And and there's probably that in soccer. We just the casual fan doesn't see it, doesn't I don't even think you can call us casual fans. It's more like casual watchers. If okay. If if you get excited about, I guess, ball control and passing, right? Maybe. But that's come on. That's that's not exciting. It's like in FL football, if you ran the ball every single play ⁓ he got three or four yards of play. And a cloud of dust. Yeah, that's and then went down and kicked a field goal. Yeah, right. That's not exciting. What the frick? What are we doing? That's not exciting in today's terms. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ so Egypt got jobbed, by the way. I'm curious on your thoughts about that. I dude, so you you want set set that stage a little bit? No, I mean ⁓ Egypt scored. Egypt's up two. Egypt's up what? Egypt's w up one ⁓ Yeah. And ⁓ I'm not gonna say they're heavy underdogs, but they're definitely underdogs. Defending ⁓ champ. So yeah. And then they go then they they went up they scored another goal. Yep, they go up two ⁓ They go up two And then they get disallowed. Then yes. So dude What is disallowed? Here's what is that? Here's what I don't know that we went to the review booth. Here's what I don't know that we understand that that well is correct. Talk through it though, because you you have a better handle on than I do. Basically, Argent Argentina had the ball way down by Egypt's goal. Egypt plays defense, steps on Argentina's foot, gets the ball, and and then basically goes on a on a fast break, what I'd call a fast break, going, Hey, next thing you know, the ball's heading down the field, Egypt's going to their goal, and and they up scoring a a really nice goal. I mean it was it was pretty cool. It was very nice. It was really cool. And the next thing you know, ⁓ goes up to to the the video replay and they're like, Well, hey, you committed a foul, way the hell down on the other end of Why did they And and the ref was standing right there and didn't blow his whistle, didn't nothing. But then the video review calls down and goes Hey, before they even got the ball and and scor and kicked it all the way down the field and scored that goal. Fuck that. ⁓ that about twenty seconds before that, they committed a foul. So we're gonna take that goal off the board. They stopped the play r before. And even one of the announcers who who knows soccer way the hell more than me, even one of the announcers made a comment and goes, That's not what V A R was was designed to do. V A R is video assistant video assistant referee replay referee or whatever. It Is almost like if you were in the NFL to review a pass interference call, which you can't review, right? Because that's a judgment call. It's almost it's that's what it seems like. It's like, okay, yeah, that's a foul, technically. And the way they missed it. The way it wasn't called, but it wasn't caught on the field. And it wasn't egregious, man. Slow motion. Yeah, yeah. Anything in slow motion could be wrong. Just like with Balogun when he got his red card for the US a couple games or la Two games before that, whatever. Same thing. In slow motion. And again, even the announcers in the US game, that game were like, man, this looks so much worse in slow motion. And I even think they said this is not what VAR was was designed to do. Right. Is go in detail slow motion, go, yeah, yeah, that that was a lot worse than what it looked originally. Because it's just it's not what that's what it's designed to do. So that goal gets disallowed, right? Yep. So With seventy nine minutes left. Or are sorry. Seventy nine minutes expired. So there's eleven minutes left before stoppage time. Argentina is down two nil zero. Two nil. ⁓ sorry. Thank you. My my my current wife But speaking of current wife, big thank you to Tom's current wife. ⁓ absolutely. For helping us out with some ⁓ she saved she saved the night. She had some technology stuff. ⁓ Thank you, Amy. But still be waiting on Tom. So this is seven. Maybe seventy-ninth minute, Argentina down two zero. With with their star player, right? I mean, he basically took over the fucking game. But he missed a penalty kick. He missed a penalty kick. Yes, he did. Yeah. Missed the goal or got got blocked. ⁓ it got blocked. It got blocked. The goalie made the goalie guessed right and made a really, really nice save. And so but for him to miss. No matter if the goalie blocks it or not, they still say he missed that penalty kick because he should have made it. So yeah, he missed one earlier. I did see that. I did see a replay of that. Was that the one where the goalie was just like cheesing from ear to ear when he got he was like, ⁓ yeah, look at me. I would have been. I w Hell yeah. Why wouldn't you? Yeah. I just thought it was cool to see that, you know, b that kind of reaction. Mm-hmm. Because even he was surprised that he pulled it off. So yeah. So ⁓ all you gotta do is survive eleven minutes with the two goal lead. Right. Right. That's Which in soccer they had to been losing their minds. Two two goal lead with that seems like a lot, right? Yeah. ⁓ then Argentina stumbles into ⁓ a goal in the seventy ninth minute, fine. two one. ⁓ Messi again, I I don't know soccer. That dude's seems like a pretty A's he's really effing good. Still at thirty eight, nine, wherever he's at. He had the the cross, the assist on that first goal. No real reaction. He's like, man, we down two one. ⁓ he seems like a fairly class actor. Yeah. A likable athlete. Ye but he's clutch, dude. Yeah. I mean, we're just talking about he missed that penalty kick. That's in the first half, I believe. Yep. but then the fifteen minutes he puts together to end this game is crazy because f four minutes later, maybe, balls kind of loose in the the penalty box area, goalie box. He hits like some little half volley, the ball ⁓ you're like, what the f how you even get? your foot on that. Or actually it's the shin, but whatever. Two two, man. Right over top. He scored the goal. Yep. Holy shit. Yep. The announcers were just saying it's like, man, it's the time you need your star to show up. And he's and seriously. And boom, some bitch ties the game. So then you're thinking, okay, we got we got overtime. Yep. And what what happens next, Linko? Well, then Egypt. They come down, right? Yeah. And they they end up scoring. You're like, holy crap, they just took the lead again. And fans going apeshit. ⁓ and then Was that the offsides? I don't know if that has the offsides or not. And they took it off the board? Yeah, they so they took two goals off the board for Egypt. Yes, they did. ⁓ Jesus Christ. Yeah, so they took that one off the fucking this this one was legit though. One of those was legit. I agree with ⁓ I don't think they score four. There's so much shit that happened in that game. I gotta but it was all in like a twenty minute period. Yeah, I'm gonna have to watch it. ⁓ my God, this is crazy. So then ⁓ out of nowhere, Argentina scores in like the ninety fourth minute. Because again, you're going, Okay, fine. It's we're 'cause an O T most teams that we talked about Golden Gold doesn't exist anymore 'cause everybody was kind of playing for PK's. I'm like, ⁓ man, we're here's where we're headed and I'll be damned if they don't score score again. You're like, how do you give up three goals in fourteen minutes? So apparently That's unreal. Apparently their coach ⁓ so I don't know if they get fined or or not. I'm assuming he's going to, but I don't know how FIFO ⁓ FIFO's money hungry anyway. I can't imagine they wouldn't find a coach. But ⁓ he basically said, Yeah, we d paraphrasing, we had two goals taken off the board. So it's pretty obvious to me that FIFA wants Argentina in the finals. That's kind of what it sounds like to me. So yeah. Don't disagree that with the calls, but you can't give up three goals. You can't do that. You're three minutes, man. But what one of Argentina's goals unless you're the US basically a basically a replay of how Egypt scored their goal when he stepped on Argentina's foot, got the ball down the field, scored the goal. Argentina penalty box. Argentina did the same stepped on Egypt's leg slash foot. I think that was in the box. Got the ball, got it all the way down the field and scored a goal. Nice counterattack. So I say out loud, going, ⁓ they're gonna go to replay. No, nope, no replay. That's the end consistent. No replay at all. That's the thing when I was like that's in every sport that frustr frustrates us. Just get the just get the call back. Be consistent. If if you're using replay, then use it. Yeah. Because I I would assume it was the same people that watched or reviewed the one five minutes earlier. It's the same are the same people reviewing what yeah. Because they they show they show that would drive me nuts. They show the replay team. There's like three or four of ⁓ up there. I think it's the s they're the same people watching that entire game. Maybe their beer is kicked in and ⁓ we're letting that go. It appeared to me like it was the exact same play, just Opposite teams. I forgot about that. No one that was a film took off the board. Yeah. That wasn't review at all. I'm like, that makes no sense to me at all. No. No. I almost think that's why if that would have happened outside of the p PK area, it that seems to be a different I don't know why you call things a little bit different. A little bit different there because this the circumstances are different or but a foul's a foul, man. It should shouldn't matter. You're right. All right, so ⁓ we've talked a lot about soccer, which is we have, which we know not not not enough about so that's in our wheelhouse. ⁓ can I transition a topic that's in in Tommy's wheelhouse? You're transitioning? ⁓ god. I am I've been thinking about it for a while. ⁓ my god. Eating ain't cheating? Can't wait. We haven't said eating ain't cheating in a long time. No, we have not. Is Brett becoming a Bethany? Is that what we're hearing? ⁓ I hope not. I don't know. If you had a girl name, what would it be? Brett? I don't know. I kinda like Brethany. Brethany. That's that that could be my porn name. Bretina? That could that's my that's my old nine hundred number name. Wow. You remember the No. I've never called a nine hundred number, but I wish I wouldn't now 'cause I wouldn't know what they're like. Seventy five cents a minute. Hot dog eating contest. Yep Yeah, so Joey Chestnut, once again, the big winner. I think he's eighteen. ⁓ actually such straight seventeen seventeen out of eighteen, I think it is, or something. The Japanese guy beat him one time. Was it just once? I think he's won that was a couple times. Kobiyashi won a couple times. He's lost two or three times in that stretch. Yeah. But ⁓ yeah, Patrick in twenty twenty four, Patrick Bartoletti. Yeah, I was gonna say actually won. And that guy only ate like five. Well, that's because he wasn't there. Well that's because chestnut wasn't there. What are they? He was suspended from it. ⁓ that's true. What do they get for winning? Because I think they badmouth, don't they? He badmouthed Nathan. A lot of them. And he wasn't in the twenty twenty four one. You're right. And nobody and nobody watched it. Right. There were no eyeballs on it. So Nathan said, Okay, you can come back. Yeah. Imagine that. So Chestnut the stats here. Chestnut won in ⁓ his first one in two thousand seven. Jesus. And then won Everyone through two thousand fourteen. Matt Stoney won in two thousand fifteen. Twenty sixteen Jessnut won again through twenty twenty three and then he wasn't there in twenty four. I forgot about that. Yeah. So yeah. He basically every single one that he was in from two thousand seven until this year. Yeah. He won all of them except one. Yeah. Really? I think it took him in. Get Kobe Ashi. Got tagged. Well then Kobe Ashi got suspended and kicked out. So then Chestnut Chestnut was the man. Yeah. So yeah. Would Kobe Ashi get suspended for steroids? I I think so. It was something like that. Not a joke. It was something like that. How are how are their rules contest? That's weird. So the weird thing is Chet Chest. His first win in ⁓ twenty twenty seven. Yeah. Sixty six hot dogs. ⁓ that's when this year. Sixty six hot dogs. Maybe that so he's figured out that that's the sweet spot. Well I think his record is seventy seventy one or two. Six or seventy seven, yeah. Seventy six. So I'm guessing he's sitting there watching, he probably could have down seventy six this year, but he's watching his 'cause he watches competition. He's like they have signs. Don't they have each they have counting? But I think those are the girls are behind them, but I'm sure there's counters in front of them that they could see, and he's like, Fuck it up, I've ten hot dogs. I don't need to yak tonight. It's still the most disgusting thing. ⁓ it's it's the best. But ⁓ no, it's it's gross to watch. It's gross. Hang on before we totally talk Tom out of this. So Tom was also in a hot dog eating contest at one point in his career. Yes. He wasn't prepared for it. We talked about it here. Yeah, soccer name too. We're gonna bring it back up. Yeah. Yeah. Tell the story, Brett. I'm like, Tom, I I I feel good about your chances here. Well, what was that festival called? That's a hot dog festival. The hot dog festival in Frankfurt, Indiana. Frankfurt They do it every year. The Frankfurt Hot Dogs. That's the name of the Yeah, their n that's their high school nickname. Yeah. Yeah. So we don't remember the number, Tom 8, but we think it was at least ten. Yeah. I'll say ten you're in the ten to twelve range. Ten to twelve. But you tap you tap. You you you tapped out halfway through. He's like, Yeah, I'm not screwing up my whole night. Fuck this, yeah. I thought you had more in you, but whatever. I probably did, but he had a lot of winners in him. So the ninth place finisher this year, eighteen and a half hot dogs, correctly? ⁓ the ninth place? Yeah. No ⁓ that that would be the ⁓ so fifteenth place had ten and a half. Yeah. But is that that courtesy invite person? ⁓ we think the make it the crazy legs person. Crazy legs conti. ⁓ it's wanna be a hot dog eating county. So there were fifteen participants. ⁓ so number fifteen was ten and a half. Number fourteen, so we're we're thinking fifteen was not a legitimate ⁓ personally was eighteen and a half. You could in fifth place. Fifth place? How many did they eat? Max Stafford, forty two and a half hot dogs. That seems like a stretch. Yeah, that's I don't know if you could be So you didn't train at all to swallow let's call it twelve dollars. Well the shape is so conducive to everything he loves. Correct. Not really, but so So I think with a little bit of training, sponsorship, we can get Tom and the Nathans. We can easily get you to twenty five. Yes. I I feel very confident about that. What's where's twenty five? If you get twenty five, that'll put you in solid thirteenth place. Damn it. Out of fifteen. What's the top ten? We gotta crack top ten. We're not going there to finish either. You gotta get ⁓ twenty so twenty-eight is tenth place. Twenty eight for tenth place and how how much time? Ten minutes. I think it's ten minutes. Ten minutes. That's a regular Friday night for you in high school swallowing that much wiener. Three hot dogs He was experimenting, Jeff. I wasn't. Three three hot dogs a minute, Tom. That that's you can easily know that. No dicks have costly. So here's here's the thing though. This year. You were doing ⁓ one at a time there. Yeah. Correct. We get the right technique. You're going two at a time. Yep. That twelve that you down at seven minutes becomes twenty four. You're Halfway though. They doing the pros, two at a time. Yep. Just like Hey Peterman. Two chicks at the same time. so Joey Chestnut this year, six sixty-six for the win. Second place, fifty one. Yes. Fifteen train. No, I no no no. That's all you're My point my point is so did the fifty one. You've got a year. You got a year to train. Yeah, it's it's your point. We're looking for sponsorship for Tom. Yeah, we're not looking at you to catch Joey. We're just looking at a top ten, man. Yeah. And then I heard your boy Joey went out and got absolutely obliterated after after winning. He gets the mustard belt. I mean that's goes out and gets hammered. Of course he does. I hope he changes his T shirt before he goes out. It's so gross. I can't watch it anymore. I can't watch it anymore. It's the convulsing and the watered down bread. And then they're just slobbering everywhere, water. Tom, I think I think this might be the hurdle we have to overcome here with you. Can you eat a a wet bun like wet bread? Can you do that? I can. I'm busy, Tom. That's I can. It's not pleasant, but it doesn't. bother me. And and I agree with you that that is kind of the secret there that for whatever reason the soggy bun makes it easier. Because I I think I think what the pros do is they take the hot dogs out of the buns and then they then they mow I I don't think it's two. I think it's more yeah it might be I think it's three to four at a time. Some of them have that technique where they hold suck it and they And they take it. They take small they take small bites, so they bite them as they put ⁓ in their mouths. And then now they've got the buns left and they dip the buns in the water because now they're mushy and then these they just shove them in their mouths. That is so gross. This is so American. It is awesome. And there's one dude that used to use Kool-Aid. Red Kool-Aid. Yes. So it looked it looked his shirt got red. ⁓ it looked like he was like a murder scene. Was eating a wild animal. Oops. I didn't know this was your time. ⁓ the Frankfurt Hot Dog Festival, from what I understand, is a couple of weeks off. ⁓ What? So it sounds like we should go to Frankfurt. I I'll pay your entry fee this year, Tom. I'll buy the water for you to soak the buns in. No, they give it to you, it's free. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ okay. Well you had to pay an entry fee for the contest. Well yeah. You did? It was like twenty bucks. But he got free dinner. Yeah, you did. Can you video it please, Set? So If you go up air. I did ⁓ I think I I did buy beers that whole night 'cause I'm like, no Tom, I owe you beers for this. ⁓ we spent a lot of money in beers that night. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So let's ⁓ Friday, July twenty fourth and Saturday, July twenty. Mother of goodness, you gotta be kidding me. It's coming up. Let's set a goal for you. That's two weeks to train. You need to have twelve down at this podcast next week. Let's set a goal for you. Incremental. Twelve twelve, eighteen, twenty-four. Give him something to shoot for, Brett. Yeah, yeah. Fifteen. You can do fifteen. in that hot dog eating contest up in Frankfurt. Nah, he's got to do twenty to win that thing. That's what No but no no you gotta start you gotta stair step. So next week next week we need twelve down in ten minutes. Okay. The week after, because we still have one week. Yep. He's be up to eighteen. You need video proof. No, I just wanna see you of so it's the second place dude. Patrick ⁓ Bertoletti. Nobody knows that he's he's the one that uses ⁓ Kool Aid. Kool Aid or Fruit Punch. It says flavored liquids like fruit punch, including Kool-Aid or cranberry juice, to change up the flavor and texture during competitions. Cranberry juice. The sugar in that? That's what I'm saying. Even in Kool-Aid, the sugar on that. ⁓ yeah. But but then when he slobbers it down his t shirt and his now his shirt is all over ⁓ it's all disgusting. Yeah, he's there to win. Come on. Well yeah, he is. You'll do anything to win. So the hot dog cont eating contest is Saturday, July twenty fifth at five thirty. He's in. I feel like we're because the WCWO wrestling event is going on and it's right after that. You could do the hot dog eating contest, put on five pounds, and then go into the need to take John with us. We can take John up there to wrestle. Then we can eat hot dogs. Brett, you could come home with two champions that night. You could. John and wrestling. ⁓ Tommy and the hot dog eating contest. I'm at the end of my coaching career. so I have a bunch of hot dogs left from the party. Yeah, you want to eat. I don't know how many's in there, but I'll check it out. We'll see if we can't. If he's he's do a practice run. How to train. Just Google that shit. How to how to train eating hot dogs. My man was on his way to an easy second place last year when he tapped or a few years ago when he tapped out because he didn't know he was doing that well. That's coaching. That was my fault. I should tell him like, Man, you're doing good. You're right there. You're right there. Tom, sometimes it is a coaching. Sometimes it is coaching. Because when you're doing it, 'cause there there's just trays of hot dogs there. Yep. And you can't count what everybody else you have no idea what everybody else is. Were they the thin weenies like ⁓ Nathans or were they the big warp? I'm pretty sure that yeah. Like not a joke. Well, I think when they got there they were. But by the time you got room temperature. You're eating cold weenie. Yeah. They were footlocks. No, I I was asking a serious question. I was like, I they were 'cause a 'cause a cold hot dog not like not like not cooked cold, but like it was cooked, it was in the bun and it was in it. They had these big trays, like those big aluminum trays. And they just set the tray up there And you're grabbing at him and then like the guy next to me kept grabbing some out of my tray and and I was like, fucker. So I mean there's all there's all just all this stuff going on and you're like you I'm not putting up with that. You can keep track of what you're doing. That's on me. But it's impossible to keep track of the entire table of people. How many were up there? And what they were doing. Shove a hot dog in his ear, dude. Eight eight to ten. Eight or ten. Yeah. Yeah. So what the winner do you guys remember what the winner was? I think it was twenty one. I think you got your ⁓ entry feedback or something. ⁓ what he went? I'm sorry. No no no no. What did he how many high dollars did he Roughly twenty. Twenty one, something like You're not far top. That's where I'm I'm like, dude, you were And you literally thought about it for ten minutes. ⁓ yeah. It was if you if you just him walking around going, Hey man, I am Bretton your ear. Yeah. So if you think on this and train on it and maybe prey on it a little bit. I don't you can pray on it a little bit. Absolutely. P R E Y. Yeah. Pray on pray on those wieners. Pray pray about it for with an E. Yes. Ten ten thousand dollar cash prize in the mustard belt. Mustard belt. Sorry. ⁓ that's not getting that. But all the notorieties. Second place is five grand, third place twenty five hundred, fourth place fifteen hundred. I'm talking about Nathan's. You could be the king of Frankfurt. This is You could be the King of Frankfurt. This is a a ⁓ a ⁓ Who is this guy and why is he in our case? This is Springboard. This would make news if a dude from Indianapolis goes up to Frankfurt an hour away, Carroll County slaps him with a hot dog. Man, don't don't show your hand too early. This is your prelim. This is your prelim. We could probably get you on a podcast to talk about it. No, that'll be fun. So it sounds like we got something to do on July twenty fifth. I like it. So there you go. We gotta find out what bands we're playing too. I'd go up there and support you, but you know where I'll be. You'll be at the lake. Yes, absolutely. You'll also be taking hot dogs two ⁓ at a time. We do take we do eat hot dogs out of I'm sure you do. Where's the hot dog come from? Is that an American invention? ⁓ actu I seriously don't know. I think it came off of the sausage that was made in Europe, Germany. I'm not being no it facetious when I say this. And then I think a famine so low cost thing. Yes, correct. Hoofs, lips, and assholes is what they're made of. Yeah, but I I I don't know if hot dogs originated here. I can't believe he's in. Yeah. I I I think he's in. Fourteen fourteen eighty seven. The Frankfurt developed in Frankfurt, Germany. ⁓ God, that makes sense. The sausage itself dates back to ancient times in Europe with both Frankfurt, Germany and Vienna, Austria claiming invention. Also Vienna sausage. So depending on where where you visit, ⁓ just like ⁓ if you go down to the Bourbon Trail, there's several of them down there. Hey, we were the first, by the way. Mike, wait a minute. I was just down the road and they said they were the first. They were the first. Well, we were the first to open on a Thursday afternoon. Yes. When it was cloudy. ⁓ okay, cool. Everybody wants to be a first of everything. ⁓ however, serving it on a bun to eat by hand is credited to German immigrant and baker Charles Feltman, who sold the first Frankfurter sandwich on a push cart in New York City. Coney Island, New York City, in eighteen sixty seven. New York City. Have you ever seen the way hot dogs are made? No, there's some dogs. I don't want to talk about that. Yes, I have, but it's similar. It's similar to bologna. I'd rather just I I'd enjoy it and eat it. I I I find those how it's made shows kind of fascinating. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you too, but you know, sometimes sometimes you don't need to. I don't know. I don't need to know. I don't want to know how any of my food's made because everything I eat I d pretty much enjoy. And I was I don't want to know. And once you know and you can't enjoy it the same. Nah, I still I still eat it. Doesn't matter. Hey, it hadn't killed me yet, Tom. Well hadn't killed me yet. Golfing in ninety five degrees might. Might. It might. Wow. All right. So July twenty fifth, we'll be ⁓ in Frankfurt eating hot dogs. ⁓ we went from zero to sixty right there. Real quick. And ⁓ nice. Yeah, I got well somebody better be there for moral support. I gotcha. I'm good. I'm great I'm great moral supporter. I'm also good like if some I might get in a fight too. We'll take if I feel like we'll take the kids. We'll take the kids. The kids will cheer me the kids will cheer me on. Kids will kids will be down for it. They'll they'll love it. They'll they'll think it's the greatest thing ever. Absolutely. This is your one and only chance 'cause if things aren't going well we're gonna get kicked out of the Frankfurt hot dog fan. You can win ⁓ and post bail, all in one night. I'll be reading about you in the papers for a different reason. Hey, the ⁓ the term the term hot dog combines the meat's warmth with late nineteenth century joke. A l ⁓ a late nineteenth century. German immigrants introduced the Frankfurter, which college students jokingly called hot dogs. This reflected visual comparisons. To the long, thin dachshunds that the immigrants kept paired with widespread rumors that the cheap sausages were actually made of dog meat. So they called them hot dogs. So originally they were called freight burners. Yeah. And that's that's where hot dog comes from. We didn't even cue up joke of the week there. Could have been all right. So we'll ⁓ more to come on that one. We'll have another The United States. So which country eats the most hot dogs? Obviously, the United States is the says it's the undisputed global leader. It's fifteen to one. Yeah, but there's so many countries though, because a hot dog is so many pieces different cuts of meat, different types of meat. Correct. There's a ton of countries that don't even touch pork at all. Right. So they don't know what they're missing. Hang on. I understand. He's got more. So that that makes it easier to hit that note. It basically says Americans collectively eat billions of hot dogs each year, with consumption peaking during the summer months. Makes sense. So between Memorial Day and Labor Day, according to this, how how ⁓ how many how many billion do you think just between Memorial Day and Labor Day? The US. Yes. US population of what, three hundred Three hundred and fifty million? Let's call four four hundred. I'm going on average three I'm I'm going ten hot dogs each a summer on average. Ten bil ten billion No ten billion times four hundred million. No I c we can't do that math. What? We can't do that bad. Ten billion times four hundred million. We're not eating ten billion hot dogs. I'm going ⁓ four billion. Okay. I'm gonna go three point two. ⁓ my god, price is two point five. Price is right, my ass. It's fifteen and what seven. Seven billion. Seven billion hot dogs. During the summer because there's so many more. What are we doing? We need to be in the hot dog business. That means the average is twenty hot dogs per citizen. During the summer. If we just get one percent of the market, that's a shit ton of hot dogs. How many how many hot dogs do you eat not in the summer? ⁓ not very many. That's a very but in the summer I'll I'll I'll put down. I'll swallow a lot of dogs. You like a lot of wiener in the summer. Weed a lot down at so You think you could do three at a time? Mm. My mouth's not that big. Plus, I got ⁓ dental work going on. So not like dental work going on. Well you play it for the US men's national team? What's going on there? I got a I got a cra I got a I got a crown. I got a crown that's kind of bothering me. My lower back's a little tight, so I don't think I can do three right now. Not on my back. I had a crown pop off ⁓ a couple weeks ago. That sucks. Yeah, I've been dealing with this son of a bitch for four weeks now. Yeah, they just super glow back in So interestingly enough, ⁓ the girls were planning last week's last weekend's ⁓ menu for food. And they're like, Well, we'll do hamburger smash burgers this night and then steak the next night and da da da da da and I'm like chimed in there, I go, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I said it's July fourth. Kind of feel like we need to have some hot dogs at some point in time. At some point in time. So we so we did. Yeah. Love a good old hot dog. Love a good old dog. ⁓ so I've gotten kind of snobbish on my hot dog preference, but I like an all beef hot dog. Yep. ⁓ with you. ⁓ for sure. I'm with you. I don't I don't You don't fool around with no Oscar, Mike, or Wiener. No, I I look for the word no I not a joke. I don't I don't I I look for all beef hot ⁓ sure. And you're gonna have to like twenty of whatever is put in front of you. I know, I know, I know. But I mean, like the ones I've got to practice with at home, they're all beef hot dogs. Hell yeah. Yeah. I agree. Agree. I definitely look for hot dogs. When you're enjoying a hot dog, it does make a difference. I don't know. Say I'm with you. And the other part to the hot dog eating contest at ⁓ Frankfurt is that they're all cooked in water. They're all boiled. Boiled. Yeah, not grilled. I don't boil a hot dog in my house. You don't boil hot dogs. I did as a kid. As a kid, you did all the time. Well, I mean I did today for lunch. I threw them in the microwave, but that's for lunch. Well, that's worse than boiling. I know, but I I needed some lunch. Did you wrap them in paper towel? What's I didn't do all that. What? I ain't got time for all that. You're you guys are asking the wrong questions. What was your technique when you ate them? Just Typical. I ⁓ typical. I put some onions and relish on them and I just ate them. Did you convulse on this? No, like a normal mustard mustard ketchup. Mustard ketchup. No. I put ⁓ onions and then we've got this sweet pepper relish. What the hell's wrong with you? It was delicious. Did you think about cutting your dick off? Never throwing it in a fire. Lighting on fire and throwing it into your garage? At no time in my life has removing the penis from my body ever been a thought. What about your cock? Not that either. No. Cackin' balls. Cackin' balls. Hot dog, what are you throwing on it? I have I'm a ketchup mustard person. Okay. ⁓ I I like onions, I'll say this, but it's gotta be chopped up. It's not yet diced. It's it can't be the onion that you would put on a burger. Yep. Linko? So normally it's literally just mustard. Just mustard. There's nothing wrong with that. If if I plan ahead a little bit, then I'm I'm coney ⁓ yeah. Coney sauce and cheese. ⁓ that's no onions and it's just mustard. Okay. Just mustard. Just a bun. Yeah. Coney dog with cheese is a different level of hot dog? I don't like diced onions. So what I do is I cut like a layer of onion off and I run it down both sides of the hot dog. And then put relish in the middle. Like a banana split type thing. Banana splits it with onion. And it's absolutely fucking delicious. Yeah, correct. Like an onion split. Sounds like an onion split to me, Tom. It's delicious. But I like onions. Onions in the right setting are are okay with onion rings for some reason. Onion rings are great. I eat them. Onions on a White Castle hamburger. No different than tomatoes. I don't mind them. Tomatoes and salsa for me, no different. Onion and ⁓ onion on pizza? Horrendous always. Terrible. No. I don't think it's terrible. No onions. I onion much. But on a pizza, no. Banana peppers. Pine pepper pizza. Where are we at? But banana peppers is an odd topping that is very good on pick. I love it. Love it on pizza. That's in the pickle family, right? Kind of. Pepper family. Yeah. Pepper, pickle, banana peppers. It just doesn't add up that I would like that on pizza. Yeah, but it doesn't make sense to me. You don't like pickles? ⁓ they're okay. He said they're okay. Certain pickles are okay. Linko said pineapple and pizza. Pineapple and pizza. No. I'm asking. He's asking. I'm not I'm not a big fan anyway. Okay. I went through a stretch where I thought it was okay, but I'm not sure I'm not a huge fan. I will kick you out of my house if you put a pineapple and pizza. I don't like it. I've never liked it. I I don't I don't think fruit belongs on pizza unless it's deserted. Not at all. Not at all. I'd rather starve to death. Champagne of beers has a weird ⁓ Yeah, that's ⁓ weird head. The weird, super weird head on that. It's stuck in there. Yeah. That's it's like I don't yeah, that is weird. Holy cow. Hey this could sink to Titanic. Have we have we got to that time? ⁓ who's doing jug of the week this week. You are ⁓ okay. Hot Dog, dog, dog, let's go Tommy. He's only at eight dogs, kick him in the air. You guys will be excited. This is ⁓ I'm changing the city. It's coming from Shocker, Frankfurt, Indiana. No way. And I have found a new group to offend. ⁓ wow. ⁓ I thought we offended all the groups. ⁓ so we already checked all the balls already. I I think we try equally. Yeah. ⁓ sure. I don't I don't remember this one being singled out before. So Okay. Almost offended two groups, but I'm going with a different joke. what is the difference? Again, this is Frankfurt, Indiana. Where Tom will rule in two weeks. What is the difference between an orphan? That's the new group, and a criminal. I'm sure we've made fun of criminals, so Yeah, nobody cares anyway. Yeah. Frank Frankfurt, Indiana. Okay. The difference between an orphan and a criminal. And while you think about that, reminder our goal for next week is just twelve dogs. We're starting small. Orphan and a criminal. We're working our way up to twenty. The criminal goes home at night. ⁓ hasn't prison at night. Ooh, I kinda like that. I like kinda like where you went with that. I think with a s with a slight twist. You and Brad are on the same wave like the hot dog eating contest in Frankfurt. Dude, I I'd expect that to fly at all, dude. Yeah. So you're saying they could date? Yes, they could they could date. ⁓ w we're dating for the next two weeks because we're going to win this motherfucker. Brett's gonna be at my house. Second place. Yeah, we're here they are, bitch. Get the work. We're gonna vision quest this shit. I brought the suit. You gotta get in shape. We need to we need to find a corolla. Cooch cooch cooch cooch cooch cooch. I gotta get the eat Tommy Eat shirt for him. We're we're starting training. We're gonna get a montage and all that. But we're losing sight of what's important. In Frankfurt, Indiana. The difference between an orphan and a criminal. And a criminal. You got my guess. I'm I'm done. I'm empty. What do you guys got? The criminal is at least wanted. ⁓ cheers to all my orphan friends if I have any. I told you it was a new group to a pair. Not sure what happened there. But anyhow, it's a solid four beer thoughts.
