TUNGKOL SA EPISODE NA ITO
I honestly don’t know how to feel about AEW Blood & Guts. I know what the show is called. I wasn’t expecting everybody to shake hands and have a clean wrestling match. But knowing there’s going to be blood and watching Megan Bayne covered in it for that long are two different experiences. The women opened the show, and Megan’s bleeding became the thing I couldn’t stop looking at. Then you’ve got light tubes breaking over Statlander, barbed wire getting stuck on Skye Blue, broken glass, and people going through barbed-wire tables. There were impressive moments, and those women committed to that match. But at some point, I started wondering whether I was enjoying the action or just waiting to see how much further they would go. That finish with Julia Hart tapping while Harley had her leg and Statlander pulled barbed wire across her mouth—that’s a disturbing visual. It absolutely gives you a convincing reason to surrender. I’m still processing whether I needed everything before it to get there. Between the matches, there was actual storyline movement. Bandido going after Swerve and demanding Texas Death made their issue feel personal. Moxley asking Orange Cassidy for help gave us something different: a guy who usually acts like he needs nobody admitting that he needs somebody. That’s something I can get invested in. Mercedes and Marina also had something to work with. Marina questioning whether Mercedes was trying to hurt her or convince herself she could hurt her—that’s an interesting challenge to Mercedes’ confidence. Mercedes answering with the belt attack and the Statement Maker gave their feud some heat. Then we go into another Blood & Guts match, and that’s where the amount of violence across the entire show becomes part of the discussion. Darby getting thrown around, the thumbtacks, the exploding backpack, the exploding chair spot with Okada—it’s a lot to absorb after the women have already gone through a war. Okada bringing a leaf blower for the tacks was funny, though. I can appreciate a ridiculous moment in the middle of all that. The strongest part of the main event, for me to discuss, is Copeland’s decision. Fletcher has Ospreay threatened with a screwdriver, everyone is getting destroyed, and Copeland surrenders to protect his teammate. There’s a story there. You can understand why he does it. And then Fletcher tells Wardlow to throw Darby off the cage anyway. That makes Fletcher look cruel, and it gives Copeland a horrible ending: he surrendered to stop the damage
