00:02:50
Speaker 2: We're glad you're here.
00:02:51
Speaker 1: Not only the daily archive, remember some of the unique podcast that we have. Over the weekend, brand new episodes of Strange Counters came out and also Rick and Bubba's greatest hits in Radio Gold, So follow those wherever you get podcasts. Strange Encounters already getting a lot of feedback on that as we hear a man's story and a lot of others have joined in on the comment saying, you know what, I had a similar experience during the darkness of the pandemic and even into the year that followed, and some of the demonic activity experience during all the darkness and the death and the depression and the angst and the manipulations and all the horror that went on and still suffering from some of the aftermath of all that. But anyway, so catch that wherever you get podcasts from over the weekend. Wednesday Bible Study Archive also we had that for you by Thursday. That's available. So there's always a lot of content here on the Old Rick Burgess Show, and this week will be no different. Boy, do we have a lot to cover? Man, Boy, do we have a lot to cover? It is I'm a little bit uh got in a little bit late last night, started starting a week chasing the little out. That's all right, starting off all negative, It's all right. No, I had a great opportunity to go and and and be the speaker for the meeting of the Tuscaloosa A Row a Tide Tuscaloosa Baptist Association.
00:04:25
Speaker 3: Greg.
00:04:26
Speaker 1: Another thing, our grandmother would been very po you know. Our grandmother was such a Baptist that she whispered other denominations. Have you heard about your cousin's new girl. He's dating no memm Presbyterian. And uh so anytime that that that we did, anytime we would did we do anything involving the Alabama Baptists and somewhere.
00:04:50
Speaker 2: My me maw smiling and uh, and I wore one of Dad's suit I wore one of.
00:04:55
Speaker 1: Dad's suit jackets last night because I was at the Baptist Association good day and you put on a that's right.
00:05:00
Speaker 2: I never saw that in the Bible.
00:05:02
Speaker 1: But my grandmother said that was well. He had on good authority she did so. So anyway, that was great.
00:05:09
Speaker 2: Meeting with them.
00:05:10
Speaker 1: Got to encourage And because I mean, and this is no hyperbole at all, it's true, as we talked about last night, wherever you are, whatever denomination you are part of, as long as it's sound theology, and it's in the things we disagree on, our mine or not major you know, we're all in this together. And it is what what our world is facing right now. And I'm just talking about our lifetime. We should vote and it and and certainly things are really real important who you vote for, no doubt about that. However, there will be no politician, there will be no government.
00:05:50
Speaker 3: Uh.
00:05:50
Speaker 1: There there will be no movement of any kind that has the answers for the problems. The answer for our problems is the church, and the church. Unfortunately, I think too much is willing to sit on the sidelines and not make trouble, and it's it's it's time to make trouble. Those that laid the groundwork for us, the original Church of Acts that then went out, they were always facing opposition and they were always preaching the truth, no matter whether people wanted to hear it or not. And they paid a price for that. They were persecuted for that, but they never compromised it because they loved people enough to tell them the truth.
00:06:33
Speaker 2: And that's the key.
00:06:35
Speaker 1: We're not trying to win an argument. We're trying to say, hey, we're beggars and we found the bread, and.
00:06:42
Speaker 2: Let us show you where it is. So but the church is the answer.
00:06:46
Speaker 3: And so it was.
00:06:47
Speaker 1: It was an absolute honor to stand up there. And it wasn't just pastors. It was other people that came and we're doing other things in the church, but there were a lot of pastors there. And you know, any chance that we to encourage those that are shepherding the flock, whatever your title is, for that person, you realize they just rarely ever get an email, rarely ever get a call, rarely ever get a text. Hey just wanted you to know everything you're preaching, I'm applying and my life's going great.
00:07:22
Speaker 2: Just wanted to call and say thanks. They don't get that kind.
00:07:25
Speaker 1: They need to be encouraged and they need to be motivated just like everybody else, and sometimes more so than other people because they're burned out and they rarely ever hear good news.
00:07:37
Speaker 4: So hey, good news. The entire church is solid.
00:07:39
Speaker 1: Right, Hey, you know what what you preached last week, I applied it and you're right, it's changed my life. Just wanted you to know, keep it up, keep it up, Thanks for what you do. Thanks for all your prep this week. So so anyway, it was fun and you know, and the people that invited me, you remember they did it for thirty eight years. It's right at the middle, you know, the center of the universe. Is that only God would call a guy from Gordo, Alabama to go to Israel, and he was Herbie gear and andyear. They're so well known in Israel for the work that they have done for the church there and for the Jewish people, and also for the Palestinians that they also go and reach Palestinian people for Christ.
00:08:25
Speaker 2: But what was funny.
00:08:28
Speaker 1: Is a lot of people in Israel became so familiar with Gordo Alabama, and he told this joke last night. Herbie did that some people ended up in Israel and they were talking to some of the Israelis and they told them where they were from. They said, where are you from? And they said, we're from the United States. What part of the United States? Alabama? And they said what part of Alabama? They got excited.
00:08:51
Speaker 2: You're gonna love this. This is how powerful God is.
00:08:55
Speaker 1: And so the people said, well, we're from Birmingham, Alabama. And you know what, the Israeli said to him, how far is that from Gordo?
00:09:06
Speaker 4: So why do you ask?
00:09:10
Speaker 2: And how far is I hear? What?
00:09:14
Speaker 1: And did you know that they're in Israel? That there is an Alabama shop where they sell Alabama paraphernal in Israel?
00:09:21
Speaker 2: Did you know that? A rod Ten?
00:09:24
Speaker 1: I mean, it's absolutely true. So anyway, the when you see it, you can't believe what you're seeing. So Jerusalem has a place where you can get Bama stuff.
00:09:32
Speaker 4: But it says the Heart of Dixie on the sign.
00:09:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, absolutely absolutely true. So so anyway, so that was fun.
00:09:42
Speaker 3: Thank you.
00:09:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, there it is right there, right there. Ye, that's in Jerusalem. Funny how much business I guess they did pretty well. Uh so yeah, that's you can think Herbie Gear for that. But anyway, Herbie is now working with the Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association. So he and his wife said they own their own home for the first time in their entire marriage because they've been missionaries their home marriage.
00:10:08
Speaker 3: Wow. Wow.
00:10:09
Speaker 1: So so they got to go see their home and got to spend some time with them and all these wonderful people representing all the churches there are the Baptist churches in Tuscalusa County. So thank you for last night, and also a lot of great word about the show, enjoying that was good, that was outstanding, a lot of great feedback on Man Church. A lot of the churches are doing that. Others decided they're going to last night.
00:10:31
Speaker 2: So it was great. Enjoyed it.
00:10:34
Speaker 1: So sometimes you know, when you come get in a little late, you don't mind. Well, look back over the weekend. A lot happened over the weekend, including a dust step again with Israelis and Hamas. Remember I said, it's just a cease fire, it's all it is. It's not a peace plan.
00:10:49
Speaker 2: We'll be back.
00:10:50
Speaker 5: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
00:10:58
Speaker 1: All right, So coming up this week, guys, it is this Saturday that I play Coach Harrison and the upcoming independent movie God did it. It's uh, I gotta, I gotta get ready for my real now it's real. I mean they're they're sending me things like you know, call times, h craft services, you know, uh, the wardrobe. I mean, this is this is gonna be a big deal. Uh So this Saturday, Lord Willing, I will have to take on the persona of Coach Harrison. So we may change the script now since you kept out and stuff, Well, well well you're now directing. We may, we may, we may, we may, we may run through it a little bit, so speedy. I think you'll be playing James Sanchez is dad all right, Okay, yeah, Greg, you will be Sanchez. Okay, I got okay, me and coach and Adler.
00:11:52
Speaker 4: You play Victoria, Yeah, the hot teacher Victoria.
00:11:55
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:11:55
Speaker 2: So we'll we'll run yeah, we'll run my voice a little. We'll run that scene times this week, getting ready for Okay.
00:12:02
Speaker 6: So, so I was just begging for my son to be on the team, right, give him a chance.
00:12:06
Speaker 1: You just want me coach, but me in yeah, you you you want me to just let him be on the team. You don't expect him to start, Just let him let him be on here. Let me tell you something, he gets yourself hurt. Well that the line is actually it better not blow up in my face. I'd rather say it ain't on me.
00:12:22
Speaker 6: Okay, but are you gonna at least say it the way they want it?
00:12:26
Speaker 2: The first? I will, I will, I will be take over, I will be coachable. He's gonna even though I am literally the coach.
00:12:33
Speaker 7: All right, I gotta say this because are figurably they're they're probably gonna call you on this. But his self is not a word. His self is not a word. He gets gets his self hurt.
00:12:44
Speaker 2: No, that that's what a coach would say.
00:12:46
Speaker 4: Though that's not a word.
00:12:47
Speaker 1: Though I know, but that's what a coach would say. Coaches don't use real words, remember, just don't make up their own words at standard. Do you not remember when I when I fought for the audio version the Men Don't Run in the rain, they kept telling me that Dad was using the wrong word for his saying grammatically and I'm like, but that's not how he said it.
00:13:08
Speaker 2: He didn't say.
00:13:09
Speaker 1: Grammatically correct, right, Yeah, that's where that's kind of where I'm coming from.
00:13:13
Speaker 4: Okay, I mean you're like dialectal.
00:13:16
Speaker 1: If you're a coach, you wouldn't say, well, well, god forbid, he get himself.
00:13:21
Speaker 2: Hut.
00:13:21
Speaker 4: Okay, that's what I hope.
00:13:24
Speaker 1: That doesn't cause us any precarious situations.
00:13:29
Speaker 4: That's not what I'm saying, Hey, he gets a self. Heard it.
00:13:32
Speaker 3: They don't mean.
00:13:35
Speaker 2: That's how coach would say, got that, Adler, you got that, buddy?
00:13:37
Speaker 4: Why is it so angry?
00:13:39
Speaker 6: Rick?
00:13:39
Speaker 7: I don't know if this is like the scene of the whole movie.
00:13:42
Speaker 4: I think this is the.
00:13:44
Speaker 1: You keep this up, you know what A new lines will be added when I speak to Victoria, give me one hundred laps, Victoria.
00:13:52
Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question, Victoria.
00:13:56
Speaker 4: Victoria.
00:13:56
Speaker 6: Also, that's clear because you have health, nobody knows you'll.
00:14:01
Speaker 2: Have the same hair. Yeah, all right. Does this say that she doesn't have a beard, that's true, right, but she does wear the same size shirt. That's a good point in type gen A.
00:14:16
Speaker 4: I'm I'm out of the movie now.
00:14:24
Speaker 2: I do need to ask a question.
00:14:26
Speaker 6: Right before the line, it probably tells you what they want, like aggressive voice or you know, authoritative, you know, I guess delivery or does it does it say like should you be that aggressive in what you say? Or does it say, you know, being we're bringing here uplifting, we're bringing here uplifting tone.
00:14:47
Speaker 2: Well, that's like that, that's where the director comes in. I'll because right now you're really aggressive. By the way, I just found out.
00:14:53
Speaker 1: I don't know whether he took the job or not, and this could be really awkward between us. I think they've offered my son, who did not cast me in his movie, to come and be part of the crew. They've offer him a job to work the shoot on Saturday, just as a role supposed to. Is that some kind of indirect that they think, you know how they have all these different different things there, you know, somebody somebody's the grip, somebody's or whatever.
00:15:21
Speaker 2: Never knew what that was.
00:15:22
Speaker 1: Somebody's the lightning, he's doing something. You know, someone is that he said he by the way, I got offered a job to come and be on the crew Saturday.
00:15:30
Speaker 2: Do you think that was somebody said get his son out here. Yeah, yeah, we can't handle it.
00:15:35
Speaker 4: Grip means you just grab stuff anything, and we got a good.
00:15:38
Speaker 1: Grip there, so I don't know what he's doing. I don't know if grip is it. He's been offered a job and see that.
00:15:46
Speaker 7: Yeah, I think you got to keep the main one.
00:15:49
Speaker 6: I think that he's probably going to be there holding stuff and helping. But really it's standing here and act like you're helping and holding stuff. But we need help with we direct your dad. We can't hone him in. Man, he's he's off on his own. He's now directing producing.
00:16:04
Speaker 7: This is probably supposed to be like a casual like conversation in the hallway, like, hey, should we put him in?
00:16:09
Speaker 2: I don't think so.
00:16:10
Speaker 7: Hey, if he gets hurt, it's not on me. But Rick's turned it into like the peak drama scene of the whole movie. The whole movie is gonna be normal, and then there's gonna be a yelling coach at one point people are like, what was up with that one yelling coach in the middle of Probably.
00:16:25
Speaker 1: Is this how we talked to Denzel Washington and remember the Titans.
00:16:28
Speaker 2: I don't think so.
00:16:29
Speaker 4: I don't know if you're the main character.
00:16:33
Speaker 2: Character, right, So, Harrison coach Boom.
00:16:37
Speaker 1: The only thing in common is coach Greg, Greg, you may want to stand down a little bit because I've actually talked him in to riding in a carjack victim.
00:16:46
Speaker 4: Okay, victim number one being type cans.
00:16:50
Speaker 2: I'll see you Saturday.
00:16:51
Speaker 1: Okay, there's a moment with one of the dad that practice gets his car stolen.
00:16:57
Speaker 2: That's you. Okay, I got it, nag typecast. Yeah. So so anyway, what's what's so the player? Yeah, Centris? What is what is his story?
00:17:11
Speaker 1: From what I've gathered and I'm probably not supposed to be talking about this from what from what I've gathered, this is a young man has an incredible story. He had some major health issues that like from birth, from birth where they didn't even think he was gonna make it, and so this is about all the different overcame, how he overcame these things, and one of the things was because of all he'd been through. Apparently the dad's like, if he could just be part of the team, you know, and then you scream at him, right, so apparently so maybe then, but somehow I scream at a kid who's had medical issues and add or don't want me to be mean?
00:17:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe right, I don't believe you're.
00:17:52
Speaker 6: Maybe his Dad's going, hey, look man, he's just been through a lot. If he could just be on the team, and you're like.
00:17:57
Speaker 4: What, God, it's my witness. It's not on me.
00:18:08
Speaker 2: By the way, he goes on to be the kicker for Alburt.
00:18:10
Speaker 4: So I was gonna say something. I was gonna say.
00:18:18
Speaker 2: Something, and then you did.
00:18:21
Speaker 3: That.
00:18:21
Speaker 2: You need to ask for forgive us. No, no, let me just say this. You need seriously, you need like a forgiveness. We'll do the show now, let's have a minute.
00:18:33
Speaker 8: Now.
00:18:33
Speaker 2: Listen, listen, he's got his hand.
00:18:40
Speaker 4: You need to stop.
00:18:40
Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say. It's one of those things again. Here we go.
00:18:43
Speaker 1: Incredible story, h incredible sacrifice on how the young man got sick. I'm just wondering. It seems like that is Auburn. They're not. Seems like he's he's I mean he does. He looks so freak and he's been so sick, and he's had such a such an up pill climb. It's like, should we be putting him in this situation, That's all I'm saying. And I mean he's he I mean he's had a he's had an uphill climb. Oh yeah, that's a lot to ask of somebody who's been through what he's been through.
00:19:13
Speaker 2: And I don't know whether he should be put in this situation.
00:19:17
Speaker 7: Yeah, I think he should keep getting opportunities, but I don't think he should be back right now.
00:19:21
Speaker 4: That's just that's what it seems like.
00:19:23
Speaker 1: A well, yeah, it does not seem Yeah, I mean, he's been through a list is not mineor what this kid has been through.
00:19:29
Speaker 4: This doesn't seem appropriate at all.
00:19:31
Speaker 1: And it's and it's it's inspiring. The fact that he is alive, that's enough. Yeah, and and uh, and the fact that now he's being asked to do something that is not that easy.
00:19:43
Speaker 4: No, and it doesn't it doesn't seem honestly doesn't. It seems odd. It seems it seems doesn't seem like it's the right time. And it's like, yeah, let's let's keep let's keep him on the team, keep giving him reps, keep giving them more.
00:19:54
Speaker 1: Time, honor his scholarship, and he and he's an inspirational story just to be dressed out, absolutely, but but we're putting them in some pretty important situations.
00:20:05
Speaker 2: Yes, your version of tread.
00:20:07
Speaker 4: It is okay, but I agree, I agree, right.
00:20:10
Speaker 3: It is.
00:20:10
Speaker 2: It's it's difficult. It's not an easy thing.
00:20:14
Speaker 4: Sez okay, we'll uh well, we'll be back.
00:20:18
Speaker 2: It's got Greg. He got Greg, your baby brother had said a word.
00:20:22
Speaker 1: I'm gonna let him. I've never seen that before and it's uh, it was for men.
00:20:29
Speaker 2: It's shocking. We we have completely changed roles. You know, he really is my brother.
00:20:35
Speaker 5: You can tell he is the Rick Burgess show.
00:20:45

00:22:33
Speaker 1: Strange Encounters brand new episode came out over the weekend. If you haven't grabbed It, Go Get It episode eighteen, also a brand new Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits in Radio Gold one that comes out to most every week. You can grab that wherever you get podcasts as well. There's two new episodes out on each of those. Okay, so so this weekend active weekend, So Friday, we had a little little date that you know, this is a you know, I love these one man shows. You ever been to see the one man shows? And kind of a bit we've had. I knew that we had Max McLean on. You remember who does the incredible where he walks out of C. S. Lewis and you know, you think you're in the room with C. S. Lewis and and then you know there's all kinds of different versions of that that he does. And this was a guy, I can't think of his name, an actor who does Winston Churchill that make him look like him. I needed him to look a little more like Winston Churchill, yeah than he did, but he but it's a little bit like Alfred Hitchcock. Yeah, but he was so good at what he did. Eventually I bought him as Winston Churchill. I was a little asppoonned when he first walked out, I didn't think he looked enough like him, but then he kind of went on and he looked enough like him, and he was very funny and all of this good show. So it was downtown where we live in Birmingham, Alabama. We have a couple of historic theaters downtown. You know, in the twenties, Birmingham was a happening city and we had you know, there's two classic theaters that have now both been refurbished. The Alabama Theater has been refurbished for many years and even refurbished again. But the Lyric Theater had kind of sat for a long time, remember it, And it was it was an old vaudeville theater when you know, the Marx Brothers played there, all this kind of stuff. So they have in the last few years have have refurbished it and it's a it's it's a beautiful room. So it was the Lyric Theater where this was going to be. And Sheary and I were going with two friends and we had dinner first and then we're going here. We're going downtown, uh to go to the show. Well, when we get downtown and I had totally forgotten about this, I'm like man, they got the whole street blocked.
00:24:47
Speaker 2: I mean, I know this guy's a good Winston Churchill, but come on.
00:24:50
Speaker 1: And I'm like, the Lyric theater is only seven hundred and fifty seeds. What in the world, I mean, it's what good? I see law enforcement? Whoa, I see the ars, I see bulletproof vest I'm like, what any world? And you can't go down the street where the two theaters are on? Yeah, on one of the security people. Really, So you see the Alabama Theater is on this side of the street and the Lyrics on the other side of the street, and it's really cool when they're all lit up, the Marquees and all that. So I told Sherr's like, well, we just got a park in this parking deck. We getting there in the parking decks real crowded. I'm like, there's something else going on. And I thought, oh, the Alabama's having something too, which is a bigger theater. And I was like, man, they must have an act that is like, but why would that much security be needed for an entertainment something at the Alabama Theater?
00:25:41
Speaker 2: And I said, well whatever. So we get out and we start walking.
00:25:45
Speaker 1: I see a line going down the streets and she's like, wow, what is what's going on at the Alabama?
00:25:53
Speaker 2: I said, I really don't know.
00:25:55
Speaker 1: And like I say, street blocked, security everywhere. So all we get u where we can see the marquee in front of the Alabama Theater. Kamala Harris, Kamala Harris. Two shows, one at five, one at eight. So the five people are coming out, the eight people are standing in line. Our show starts at seven thirty. I think people pay DC here a lot of people. Now here's where it got real confusing. But here's where it got real confusing. I notice protesters, and I'm like, protesters, who's protesting Kamala Harris other than me?
00:26:34
Speaker 3: You know?
00:26:35
Speaker 1: And I start listening and I look and it's a bunch of earthy, you know, not very good hygiene, young people. And it doesn't take me long to realize these are free Palestine people.
00:26:48
Speaker 2: What are y'all doing?
00:26:50
Speaker 1: First of all, have y'all not heard anything about the seasfire? Secondly, Homage just shot and killed Palestinians in cold blood? Okay, there's they seem to be a problem for Palestinian right, Yeah, won't y'all protest that the problem are radical terrorist Islamis Islamist for the Palestinians and the and the Israelis. Huh Uh it's the terrorist groups that the problem.
00:27:15
Speaker 2: Uh.
00:27:16
Speaker 1: And they just gunned down some of their own people, Yeah, which you know was kind of caused that seafire to be uh, you know, didn't last very long.
00:27:23
Speaker 2: To go in and take care of it and get back at.
00:27:24
Speaker 1: Everybody went back to the sea fire. But anyway, I said, why are they protesting Kamala Harris? But they were, and they have that she was, you know, didn't do anything about the genocide that was going on, and she she didn't do anything either and was silent. So I don't know, Adler, why are they upset with Kamala.
00:27:44
Speaker 7: You know, I don't think she is anti Israel enough for a lot of the base, uh, of the on the left there. I think this is actually a moment where the protesters were trying to get her attention during her actual on stage speech here, and I believe this is from Birmingham. It's definitely a protester trying to get at Kamala Harris.
00:28:08
Speaker 4: Kamala Harris's response is odd.
00:28:12
Speaker 7: The crowd seemed to love it, But I thought this was an odd response from her.
00:28:16
Speaker 4: And you can see that here if you guys want that soon enough. And and you know, I sometimes think about, you know what, I am not president of the United States. You want to go to the.
00:28:28
Speaker 5: White House and talk to him?
00:28:30
Speaker 4: Thank God, and do that.
00:28:33
Speaker 2: That was a setup, by the way, that was a setup. She jumped too quick. You see what I'm saying. That was a set up. She planted that person.
00:28:44
Speaker 4: Oh, Greg with the plant. Yeah, no, I like it, Greg, I like.
00:28:48
Speaker 1: It because you say that quick. I mean she immediately. You know, if it was just it wasn't rehearsed right off her head, it would have took a second. Well I saw this dean, she admited. Could you could just hear the woman she immediately jumped. I'm sorry, I have a gift for it.
00:29:03
Speaker 4: It was It was odd to me though, for her to go, for her to.
00:29:05
Speaker 7: Say I am not the President of the United States, and then the whole crowded cheer.
00:29:09
Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, you're not the president.
00:29:11
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:29:12
Speaker 1: So this is her book to one hundred and seven days or whatever. Yeah, And so they did two I don't know what the tickets cost to get in, but this dingy bunch that was doing the Palestinian protest that I saw. There was about maybe twelve of them. Maybe this is like the third string. Yeah, they didn't like starters, and none of them could afforded a ticket to get into screen, So it probably was a setup.
00:29:32
Speaker 2: I'm telling you it's the setup. But I wanted to go and talk to them about the ceasefire, but I was forbid to do that.
00:29:37
Speaker 1: I said, what are these people? I don't even understand their protest? Why are y'all the free Palestine protest? I don't even understand it. It didn't make any sense, it does I don't think they understand.
00:29:45
Speaker 6: Bill maher And mentioned it on his show and he said, you know, where's all the college protests? You know, because the Hamas is still executing Palestinians in broad daylight. So if it's truly about the Palestinians, why aren't y'all still protesting? So really it wasn't about that. It was all theatrical. Yes, it's really not about what y'all claim.
00:30:07
Speaker 7: It's about a lot of that this week, A lot of theatrical protesting this week.
00:30:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, when when Helmas, you know, there's visions of them just taking their guns and just gunning down Palestinians to try to get regain power. That has to are going to protest on that. That's not good, not if you love Palestinians.
00:30:26
Speaker 2: Uh so.
00:30:26
Speaker 3: Uh so.
00:30:27
Speaker 2: Anyway, so you saw that, and it was weird that you didn't know that she was there. I had no idea trying to figure it out. The road blocked. I'm like, what is all this?
00:30:36
Speaker 4: I'm hearing it for the first time from you right now. Yeah, And I didn't I didn't know she was here. Did y'all know?
00:30:40
Speaker 1: Is she I do now remember seeing something about it, but it was a couple of weeks ago and I completely forgotten about it.
00:30:47
Speaker 7: That must not be in my feed, you know, my uh my social media feed. They know they're not going to sell ticket me.
00:30:53
Speaker 1: My thought was, is church he'll still this controversial.
00:30:58
Speaker 4: It's a boy.
00:30:59
Speaker 2: He's got a fascinating story, fascinating life. You enjoy it. I really did. I did enjoy it, sleepy, but I enjoyed.
00:31:06
Speaker 4: It right right, so tired, so relaxing.
00:31:09
Speaker 2: His voice so so soothing.
00:31:13
Speaker 1: But now he's a and he even did some of those jokes, you know, with the fact he even did the one with he and lady asked her about the she would poison his coffee if she was his wife, and he said, if I were married to you, I would gladly drink it. You know, you know he was he was a he was a handle. I'd like to see Speedy do a one man show. Would I'm not sure who he would do? You let me think on it. Yeah, but are you think I think it would have a lot of you know, humor, and I want you being serious.
00:31:44
Speaker 2: Let me get him around. You got me carrot tom or something. No, I gonna do that. I won't think of it.
00:31:49
Speaker 4: Yeah. Do you he have props?
00:31:52
Speaker 1: No?
00:31:52
Speaker 4: Yeah, general prop comic.
00:31:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, you would be.
00:31:56
Speaker 1: General Patton, right, yea. All of a sudden they come out next our portn Honey on the stage.
00:32:01
Speaker 2: Like, oh, here we go, Here we go. He's known you may know hi man.
00:32:06
Speaker 1: So we'll talk more about the weekend coming up. But anyway, so that was Friday night for you. That was Friday night for me. When it ended, I had been up for twenty hours, so that was a and then but you know what, I got home and got rested so I could enjoy the farmer's market and a wedding.
00:32:27
Speaker 2: Wow.
00:32:30
Speaker 5: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
00:32:39
Speaker 1: Because according to Sherry, I was hoping that I would not be going to the Farmer's market on Saturday morning, even though it's a wonderful experience, and because she said that I got ill and and did not behave very well on her trying to help me get dry home from downtown.
00:33:01
Speaker 2: She's had a lot of help with my driving off, she said.
00:33:04
Speaker 1: She said, she said, if you can't act any better than that about just being the way you acted, you got all ill and got on a rant. She goes, you're going to Farmer's market with me now? And I said, yeah, I'm out on the Farmer's market. She goes, now, I want you to go with me? And uh, and she goes, I don't want to go. We're going to go?
00:33:21
Speaker 2: And this listen, because how early is that?
00:33:24
Speaker 1: It's it's it's I'm up, and but I'm like, this is the early on Saturday morning I would call farmers market for me. I'm now rushing through my second cup of coffee. I'm not I'm not, I'm not. I'm not walking around on the deck looking at the you know, the backyard and all that.
00:33:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm having to go ahead and it's not a long run.
00:33:43
Speaker 1: So anyway, so I I'll go to the farmer's market and we have a wonderful day together. And it's there's a lot going on there. That's it's an active place, the farmers market. Temperature wise, temperature, it was a little a little warmer than I wanted. Okay, okay, but not not off. Wendy front was coming in. I dressed like it was a little cooler than it was because the morning threw me. But as the sun started hitting us, I regretted long pans. So anyway, so we're there and you know, you enjoy the fun. And so Sherry is getting her little flowers and I told Speedy, you know, I've become real opinionated on girl things now, thinking that'll that that'll throw her off a little bit. But now it's backfiright on me. She asked my opinion on everything.
00:34:34
Speaker 3: Now.
00:34:35
Speaker 1: At one point we're discussing dahlias and well, what do you think I'm going to get some flowers from Houm, because you know, we need some fresh flowers home. I said absolutely, And she was like, we think about those days, those days look pretty.
00:34:45
Speaker 2: What color do you think? And I'm like, I don't.
00:34:48
Speaker 1: I don't know what the answer I tell you, I like those red ones and so anyway, you know. So then she has her flowers, she has her stuff, and she sees one of these little you know, they have all these little tents and they all have goodies. In a matter of fact, we had some people send us and I left it at home. I'll bring it tomorrow. One of them send us banana bars and it's kind of like these bars, dessert things made out of banana bread whatever. I'll bring those tomorrow. It was from a bakery that was there, and I'll bring that in tomorrow.
00:35:17
Speaker 2: Remind me of that. So we go over to are y'all familiar with kobucha? Is that what you said?
00:35:25
Speaker 1: I think some healthy? Wow, it's a little stout. Yeah, it's supposed to be healthy, okay, but it looks like beer. Yeah. Sherry's not thinking about this at all. She's they're like, oh, yeah, we have this flavor, and we have this flavor. Oh yeah, I want to a bad it's just a little I want I want to get some of that kobuch. You know, it's good for you to supposed to be good for your digesticist and all that. So keep in mind, now Sherry is walking around with a clear cup. It wasn't it wasn't like a solo cup. It's those plastic cups.
00:35:57
Speaker 2: But it's clear. Okay, it's it's cleared. And I said, I.
00:36:01
Speaker 1: Said, baby, you like you're walking around with cober and she goes and she was gonna, no, it's kombucha. I mean, I said, no, I got you. I'm just telling you when it looks like you.
00:36:10
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:36:10
Speaker 1: And so we're started early. Yes, so anyway, no, no, no, this you're I'm not gonna believe this. So we're walking down the sidewalk to leave. Of course, I got all kinds of bags. Okay, we're walking down the sidewalk to leave. There are couple there are men that are witnessing the people for Jesus, and they spot us, and the man says, but that's a visual right there, and share goes, huh.
00:36:36
Speaker 2: He goes, you don't see.
00:36:37
Speaker 1: A pretty little lady, you know, with some beautiful flowers and and a beer at ten o'clock in the morning and like that. And she goes, oh, no, this isn't beer. He said, Well, y'all starting early. I said, I said, they literally are trying to witness to us. They think that we drink so they think that we are drinking beer at ten o'clock in the morning, and they're concerned about our eternity.
00:36:56
Speaker 2: Rick and he goes, he goes, did you say?
00:36:59
Speaker 1: He said, it's just kind of a uh to see somebody with a pretty little woman like you with your little flowers and a cup of beer.
00:37:05
Speaker 2: And she that's kobucha. It's kombucha.
00:37:07
Speaker 1: And I and then the hunt and I said, we're not drinking beer. It's not beer, and uh and but she looked, just like, we're not drinking beer at ten it's not doing We're Baptists.
00:37:19
Speaker 2: If we were drinking beer, wouldn't be outre in front everybody.
00:37:22
Speaker 1: And we wouldn't just grab a beer at the farmer's market over here and with our dalis, you know. And and so I said, I said, you're I told you, it looks like she goes, but I'm this kombucha. I said, well, you're gonna have to tell her body his kobua, especially if we see our pastor.
00:37:38
Speaker 2: Okay, I mean, look at that. I mean it looks just like you have to wear a sign. Yeah, And this is what some people say it's baptist beer. Is this is this one of those things?
00:37:48
Speaker 1: Is this one of those things where everybody's claiming something super healthy and we just took it on face vague, nobody's really researched, probably and the latter they'll come out and probably nowhere near is. I don't even know what this is. I mean, what what what is this?
00:38:01
Speaker 4: It's you know, it's supposed to be good.
00:38:04
Speaker 2: For your bacteria, good bacteria and all.
00:38:07
Speaker 7: That stuff, good for your digestion system and all this uh you know, fermented stuff, kim chi, kombucha.
00:38:15
Speaker 4: They say it's all great for your gut health and your gut bio health.
00:38:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, well let me tell you. It looks like a cup of beer. That's what it looks like it. But the I mean we there.
00:38:26
Speaker 1: Was two men tried to witness to us. I said, maybe they're so concerned about us, you know, in the early start hell, And you know what he said, He pulled the line, I guess it's five o'clock somewhere. Uh, And I was like, but it's kobucha. I'm saying it and I can't even say it right. But but yeah, you gotta be real, you gotta is it kombucha, come with it.
00:38:47
Speaker 3: You know what.
00:38:48
Speaker 1: And by the way, shares going all in. We had a whole bag full of mushrooms. We got lines maine, we got chestnuts something.
00:38:57
Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, I just I don't You're supposed to just eat it. Yeah, it's supposed to be good for you. Yeah, but we don't know whether it is or not.
00:39:06
Speaker 4: Wow, mushrooms and day drinking sheery, Wow.
00:39:12
Speaker 3: Toughly hour.
00:39:14
Speaker 5: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
00:39:22
Speaker 1: So big college football for the weekend. We had a lot of it earlier in the program.
00:39:27

00:40:12
Speaker 2: Boy, boy boy, you better be you feeling good? Probably tired, but good.
00:40:17
Speaker 3: Never doubted you we'd win the game. As I look back over the brilliance of the deboor higher Oh wow, road ted. I mean, he's one everywhere he's gone. I never doubted him. I mean, once again, our our our school brilliantly brings in the next sabing and uh now.
00:40:42
Speaker 2: Now, Dickie, after that Florida State lost, you were upset.
00:40:46
Speaker 3: Well that we're looking back on that, I don't recall that. I remember trying to tell everybody not to panic.
00:40:52
Speaker 2: Oh is that what it was? Everybody hold the road the de.
00:40:56
Speaker 3: Boor would be just fine. As a matter of fact, Phyllis was so fired up. You should have seen her brothers in her black hoody at a road tag.
00:41:06
Speaker 6: Yeah, oh road tide. Just I mean, Dicky, let's just start from the beginning. I mean, you got into town and tell us about your Saturday because it was until Saturday night was the game.
00:41:20
Speaker 2: So how'd that play out?
00:41:22
Speaker 3: Well? Pat yourself? Yeah, pay As a matter of fact, it was early in the day and we were just kind of easing our way in having a cup of gabucha.
00:41:31
Speaker 2: Oh did that early?
00:41:35
Speaker 3: Just easing our way into the day. It was. It was you know, we never get along with Tennessee people. There's always issues because they're coming out of the hills and they're odd shaped. State and then when when when you think about Auburn's orange, and it's pretty nauseating. But when you see Tennessee, whatever that orange is, that's got to be the ugliest orange the world. That orange ain't even God is said, trying to look at that range. I cain't standing hate Tennessee hate them. Oh wow. Yeah, And there are big rival you can't really say that Auburn's rival anymore now. But they're not living up I'm not doing their park. Yeah, so Tennessee is a much bigger game for US now rode tide.
00:42:28
Speaker 2: Well, you know.
00:42:28
Speaker 6: Saban was asked about that in College Game Day. He said, what's the most underrated rivalry in football?
00:42:34
Speaker 2: College football? He said?
00:42:35
Speaker 3: Alabama Tennessee, Alabama Tennessee and the you know Tennessee they you know, have you ever looked at Tennessee's coach Heurple.
00:42:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, Coach Hypel, Yeah, coach Herple, former Oklahoma quarterback.
00:42:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's hard to believe he ever played quarterback.
00:42:53
Speaker 2: I'll give you that.
00:42:54
Speaker 3: I mean, you look at him. I mean, that's the sloppiest. It looks like he wandered on to the sideline and somebody to check his past.
00:43:02
Speaker 2: You know, I can't disagree with you on that.
00:43:04
Speaker 3: I mean, I look at Genesis being coached by Bobby from King of the Hill roup.
00:43:14
Speaker 1: He doesn't if you look at him, go, there goes a former quarterback high the trophy Canada.
00:43:18
Speaker 3: You go, bro, It's just odd. It's like his double chin can't decide if I'm gonna be a chin or I'm just gonna be a fat That Quisten Road up hard to look at all.
00:43:32
Speaker 2: Right, Oh right, Dickie road tup. You know, I mean, well.
00:43:42
Speaker 6: Did you ever under I mean when the game started, I know you were excited. Where were you when you had the ninety nine yard pickoff plastic seconds of the first time.
00:43:52
Speaker 3: I never doubted, I never doubted. Did you see hard DV dis baited him. Yeah. You know Aguilera laric quarterback, and I said, well, here's Christina Aguilera. You want throw a little big shicks before we knew it was going another way. And there's nothing that's just sweeter than to give the little Tennessee fans. It's a little bit of hope. Oh we about to score, and then Obama row tied defense takes at ninety nine row Tide went yeah, oh it felt so good. It's almost like you couldn't even smell the bourbon on the arms fans anymore.
00:44:33
Speaker 2: Row tide, Yeah, man.
00:44:36
Speaker 3: You ain't never seen a bourbon buzz go sound so fast.
00:44:39
Speaker 2: That's sober to everybody in the stadium.
00:44:41
Speaker 3: Up, it's sober and everybody else it's uthing that bars.
00:44:47
Speaker 2: Did everybody in the family smoked the cigaar? After? Did you have y'all share one?
00:44:51
Speaker 3: What?
00:44:52
Speaker 2: How do you do that?
00:44:53
Speaker 3: Well, keep in mind we smoke a pack of cigarettes in pregame, but nearing the show then we hold off and we do the cigar there and everybody gets a puff on. Now, i'm'll tell you what you gotta watch. Phyllis your Boguart.
00:45:06
Speaker 2: It's shotgun.
00:45:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, a road tide. And look, let me tell you something. Don't don't put a drink next to her if you if you plan on finishing, don't put it over on her side. Rode out big. Yeah, it was a big new It was a big night. I mean we did have one moment where Phyllis pulled somebody's hair for Tennessee because somebody get a little sassy yeah yeah, and a little bit of a cat side. But that standard it's it's it's it's Alabama Tennessee. And let me tell the Tide fans, not only did the Tide beat the volunteers, Phyllis whipped some volunteer butt herself and pulled the wig right off. The young lady rode good night.
00:45:46
Speaker 2: So it got that hated.
00:45:47
Speaker 3: Huh, well, it got heated. She came by and said something off color about what Phyllis had on about well about what was actually you know, black hoodie, and Phyllis decided that you know, she would be she'd let everything be free under the black hoodie and had on what I thought was a nice little blue Jeane skirt and uh and the the tramp from from Knoxville thought she'd have something to say about Phillis. Didn't go well, but she jerked her hair down and pulled it out on the ground. N roll Tide.
00:46:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, good gracious.
00:46:24
Speaker 3: Cigar after that, Yeah, it was, it was. It was a good evening. This feels good to watch the Tennessee fans come into Brighton Denny and get spanged. It just feels good. And of course I never doubted. I never doubted this coach. I never doubted this team.
00:46:37
Speaker 2: Never.
00:46:37
Speaker 1: Everyone else was being negative you were the only positive voice out there.
00:46:41
Speaker 3: Well, and you know Auburn every time they lose, referees cheated, referee cheated as Auburn. Some people put out highlight reels. Auburn puts out reels of calls we didn't get. But I'm gonna take the loss. We take responsibility. You don't play.
00:47:02
Speaker 2: Never complained, I've I've never heard it.
00:47:06
Speaker 3: Is anybody sitting the rankings today.
00:47:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I creeped in the top five.
00:47:10
Speaker 3: Uh huh radma, jamma, yellahamma. Look at her four. You'll find Bama. You making our way up won't be long. And the little the little Miami quarterback ain't gonna be undefeeded. I mean he looks like to see it from those sup prehistoric movie cartoons, that little sloth nce age. Yeah, carsion back hard to look at.
00:47:32
Speaker 2: We're looking kid weird before picks the other night. You're right about that.
00:47:37
Speaker 3: Well, somebody's eyes and ain't right.
00:47:42

Speaker 2: You know they're not having the year. They won't, but that's a tough place to play.
00:48:06
Speaker 3: That's right place to play. So little Member, or look at little Bimber, he's something. Everybody loves a little beaner, but they don't love him anymore. Teams have got sad Beaner.
00:48:20
Speaker 2: Yes, Beamer, it's Beamer, It's.
00:48:21
Speaker 3: Bieber, and I want you to know that. Of course, every n admirer before we go to play South Carolina always is I take everybody's best shot at off color game cock jokes. Yeah, man, I'm I'm really proud of a little dicky do. He's coming up with a dandy.
00:48:40
Speaker 2: Probably can't say it on air now.
00:48:42
Speaker 3: I can't say it on air, can't do it. But but let me tell you something. Let me tell you when the South Carolina fans see it, they're gonna think to what.
00:48:51
Speaker 2: You're bringing the tide.
00:48:52
Speaker 1: Huh.
00:48:53
Speaker 3: Well, it's one thing I always look forward to playing the game. Culture so much you can do with that on signag.
00:48:57
Speaker 1: Oh yes, don't you wish game day was there so you can get it on the road tide?
00:49:02
Speaker 5: Yeah?
00:49:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, look you're on the right track, Dick.
00:49:05
Speaker 4: Ye.
00:49:05
Speaker 6: I know you never you never stopped believing it and so never doubted, right.
00:49:10
Speaker 3: Never doubted. I just like to tell all the Noxvill fans Sawry beat you again. Oh, addition, the year y'all want to do, you'll want to get a mumper sticker. Maybe next year. There you go, Cannessee balls. Maybe next year maybe Rod tight.
00:49:28
Speaker 6: There he is, Well, thanks for checking in. I know you got to be worn out.
00:49:31
Speaker 3: Bud home Emination, were tired, but you know winning it ain't for everybody but a bitch pretty don't go good?
00:49:39
Speaker 2: Here comes another Saturday.
00:49:40
Speaker 3: Watch out the other Saturday, another wind a road.
00:49:43
Speaker 2: Tide, safe traveling out there? There he goes, there he goes.
00:49:48
Speaker 4: Wow, broadcasting from the reach.
00:49:58
Speaker 1: All right, so we got more. Were's time to chat with you coming up before our day is over, either either by email like I say, our text or phone calls. All that's still part of the show as we move forward over the next couple of hours together. If you missed the first three hours, go grab those archives later today we talked about a lot, and we have heard from Dickey Nadmire. All of that has already happened on the show if you are just now joining us. Now looking back a little bit over the weekend, So game day, they were at the Georgia.
00:50:32
Speaker 2: Old Miss Game. Correct. Yep.
00:50:34
Speaker 1: So Pat McAfee, mister excitement, we got a couple of things to look at here. First of all, Nick Saban's wife, Miss Terry, is asked would she be open to Saint Nick taking the job opening at Penn State coming out of retirement. So here is that moment.
00:51:00
Speaker 4: There's a lot of names.
00:51:00
Speaker 9: Obviously we'd assume that they're trying to turn over every single stone.
00:51:04
Speaker 4: Hey, don't be stared about John Gruden.
00:51:06
Speaker 9: Maybe taking a job of that Happy Valley. And on that note, when you talk about goats, this guy's name has been mentioned a lot, and certainly on the internet funds that Penn State has now coach. I don't want to hear it from you. Let's ask the boss, Miss Terry. Hey, Miss Terry, they offer fifty million a year, you guys going to coach at Happy Valley.
00:51:28
Speaker 10: Look, Pat, I have no doubt if Nick wanted to go back to coaching, he could win his eighth national championship, but we're having too much fun and we wouldn't want to take that opportunity away from all of our baby coaches. Like, yeah, you're right, but I haven't heard a number yet.
00:51:45
Speaker 1: Pat Okay, Jerry name, So that's funny. They would win who he.
00:51:56
Speaker 2: Can put it?
00:51:57
Speaker 6: He just couldn't put it with all the smiling more Now I think he's he's really having a good time.
00:52:02
Speaker 3: Do you state?
00:52:03
Speaker 2: You think some go to Florida nap you're out? Yeah, both of them.
00:52:10
Speaker 6: There's a lot of coaching availability to come almost Yeah, I mean L s U, Brian Kelly, how long is he?
00:52:17
Speaker 1: I mean, I will say this, I'm surprised. I thought he would be slammed dunk. And I'm not saying that he needs to be fired, That's not what I'm saying. But I thought Brian Kelly at this point with the talent L s U has and they would do better.
00:52:29
Speaker 2: And Norvelle.
00:52:31
Speaker 1: Yeah, but there's a group of teams in the in the SEC that are all about the same and they just they just beat each other every other week and that's just gonna keep that and again and you have something bottom and then but you don't really have one. Even though Alabama seems to be moving trying to be that team, uh, they still have gotten beat and they still look beatable, you know from that group, any anybody you know that the Georgia game was close and Tennessee was close for for a good bit of the game even But you know, it's not like there's one team that's just destroying the others. Now, there's some that are just completely falling apart. But there's this little bunch in the middle. A and M seems to be kind of the elite team right now. But even they didn't look like they didn't look unbeatable. I mean, Arkansas nearly got him. So you just you just don't know. It's it's a it's it's a tough league to play in. Greg, I can't wait to see your face. Jelly Roll tried the game day field goal kick. I saw it, you did see it live. Well, now he brought a guy to kick in his place. Oh really, remember the guy with the big glasses blanket ship that.
00:53:40
Speaker 2: Used to kick for him.
00:53:41
Speaker 11: Okay, he did attempt it on his own. Fe Yes, Jelly tried. He didn't He actually didn't look terrible. He didn't look good, but he didn't look terrible. But he didn't miss.
00:53:52
Speaker 7: And then, like Greg was saying, he brought out a ringer to kick it for him.
00:53:56
Speaker 4: Okay, all right, here's the miss. I'm a big man.
00:53:58
Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Look at jealous. He lost all that way, wouldn't.
00:54:06
Speaker 1: I mean, he just pulled it wasn't close, but at least he kicked it, weren't You got airborne? And then for the big money, he brings out you know this guy with the glasses.
00:54:16
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Rodrigo blanket Ship.
00:54:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, I bet he'd make it. It's most famous four eyes in football.
00:54:26
Speaker 4: So he kicked at Georgia from twenty sixteen to twenty ninth.
00:54:29
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, so there it is. So would'll blow out your hamstring if you tried to kick?
00:54:34
Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes I would.
00:54:37
Speaker 2: I would have to have much stretching before before.
00:54:40
Speaker 1: You can't be just spontaneous. Of course, mcraphy did that. You know that chant. He does the Georgia chant. When he picked he was gonna win. He stood up in his chair and here he went, Oh yeah, he's doing that.
00:54:52
Speaker 2: I think that's a good thing. So did Blankenship make it?
00:54:54
Speaker 3: You did? Get out.
00:54:56
Speaker 4: I nailed it so.
00:54:58
Speaker 2: But but Jelly looked a little rough kicking, but he just hooked it.
00:55:01
Speaker 1: And then the guy that they drew his name, he missed it, but then it showed him later. I think they let him kick again after they've done went away and he made it. I'm very confused by this former soccer player. They try every way in the world to give the money.
00:55:13
Speaker 3: What I just get.
00:55:14
Speaker 1: I mean, it's like they try everything under the sun, and these let me try again. Let me let somebody try for me. I mean, it's kind of hard to follow. Blanket ships kick and all them went to charity. Correct, But you know, I'm like you, they really want to give it to the charity.
00:55:31
Speaker 2: I chair.
00:55:32
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:55:32
Speaker 1: Uh, let's talk about Signetti, who should be up for one of these one of these jobs, but Indiana is trying to lock him down with the eleven meal. But this guy is one of my favorite interviews. Great football coach. Indiana is a great team. They're they're playing outstanding, got great quarterback played. Notice Alabama A and M and Indiana are looked pretty consistent. Ohio State looks consistent. One thing they all have in common is they're getting good quarterback.
00:56:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, Auburn, Auburn looks consistent.
00:56:02
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, consistently good.
00:56:05
Speaker 1: Here is just only twenty seconds and we're gonna get a multiple one liners.
00:56:10
Speaker 2: Okay from Signetti. Here we go in your preparation. What needs to be the priority against Michigan State. Execute?
00:56:16
Speaker 1: It's always about execution to France, physical energy, mental intensity, one play at a time, that physical, relentless, smart.
00:56:24
Speaker 2: Discipline, poison, not effected by success or failure, never ever satisfied. On to the next foot.
00:56:31
Speaker 1: The sayings, thanks coaching, I'm gonna answer every question you could ever asked.
00:56:37
Speaker 2: You see him get a little get a little little wik like that like that?
00:56:42
Speaker 1: Uh, I know, we don't care and it bothers speedy. What but major League Baseball still playing?
00:56:48
Speaker 2: Uh huh? It feels like there's still too many teams left for this late night saying that I thought we were in the World Series. Yeah, well the Dodgers already are.
00:56:58
Speaker 4: Yes, and I wish y'all cared that show. Hal Tani is the greatest baseball player of all time.
00:57:04
Speaker 2: Hey, I'll give you that. He is a I don't know what to call him. What he did Friday night and.
00:57:10
Speaker 7: What he did Friday night is probably the best single game performance in baseball history.
00:57:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, it really is, guys. Well tell me what he did. I don't know what he did.
00:57:18
Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm watching football.
00:57:19
Speaker 7: Ten strikeouts. He threw ten strikeouts and he hit three home runs.
00:57:25
Speaker 4: So that's pretty good.
00:57:27
Speaker 2: Many people can do that.
00:57:28
Speaker 4: So that's pretty good in Major league baseball.
00:57:31
Speaker 2: And that wasn't youth league.
00:57:33
Speaker 6: We all see the kid in youth league is doing the same thing, and he's stole one hundred.
00:57:38
Speaker 1: Home run one number number one.
00:57:41
Speaker 4: So this is the This is just a montage of all those.
00:57:44
Speaker 2: Things that happened.
00:57:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, four he is five, guys, he is he's that kid.
00:57:53
Speaker 4: Home run number two.
00:57:56
Speaker 6: You know it's bad when the pitcher just looks down at it and he.
00:57:59
Speaker 4: Looks hate whatever that it was. Strikeout, another strikeout, another strike ten.
00:58:09
Speaker 2: Yep, we're just yeah, he is that kid in little league. You're playing at the highest level. You realize these are the best players in the world.
00:58:22
Speaker 1: I don't even know if there was a kid in the little league that struck out ten people hit three.
00:58:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, kid, that matured my.
00:58:30
Speaker 4: Goodness to cling to spot in the World Series. Yeah, it's not just regular season.
00:58:34
Speaker 2: Don't forget that.
00:58:35
Speaker 3: Wow.
00:58:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, like that's unreal.
00:58:37
Speaker 6: And the Toronto and Seattle go to Game seven, but the Dodgers are already in Just sit back, wait now, wow?
00:58:46
Speaker 4: And when is Game seven?
00:58:48
Speaker 2: Uh?
00:58:48
Speaker 1: Blue Jays, I can't believe what's going on.
00:58:54
Speaker 4: It's coming up whenever it is. Sorry, I'm so sorry, but today it's today.
00:58:58
Speaker 2: What he's what he's doing walk on Fox is unbelievable.
00:59:03
Speaker 5: This is the Rick Burgess Show.
00:59:10
Speaker 1: Support what we do on all of our different platforms. So we told you had some big announcements coming up for twenty twenty six, and we're excited to let you know that we have agreed with all of the different partnerships that we have to to long term contracts.
00:59:27
Speaker 2: So you know, we're going to be given the opportunity.
00:59:29
Speaker 1: To do this, you know, for for for a longer time and from extended years, which is great if you know, Lord Willing we have our health and can continue to do this. But it's just really exciting because you know, we we love what we did in the past, uh, and we celebrate that, but you know, we we're certainly not an oldies act. We want to continue to deliver, you know, today and so to get some affirmation on that was was great for the four of us, So thank you for that. So so here comes another announcement. We told you about the Mancher at conferences, but that wasn't really new. Here's one of two that will announce for next year. And this is an opportunity for you guys to join sharing me on a cruise.
01:00:13
Speaker 3: Now.
01:00:14
Speaker 1: Let me tell you Oceanna is an incredible cruise line. They have a brand new ship, the Alora, which man and just wait till you see this. It's going to be christened in December. We'll actually have a live update from the ships it's being christened. And I remember talking about doing a cruise again, and I'm just going to be completely transparent. I didn't really have a desire to do it. I was like, you know, we did that, We've been there, we did that years ago. It was fun, we had a great time and great memories with a lot of you. But you kind of thought and then the more we begin to talk to Bob Carey and our syndicator who sells you know, these partnerships, uh, and he said, you need to look at this ship, Rick, you really need to take a look we're talking about luxury cruising, we're talking about top of the line, and so Sharry and I have looked this over and they are right. This is this is too wonderful to pass up this opportunity and I and I will also I will also be able to I'm trying to silence. I'm also gonna be able to to broadcast from the ship, so the guys, the guys will be here. I'm not gonna do every day the show from there, but we definitely would do updates.
01:01:35
Speaker 2: You'll get a chance to, you know, hang out with sharing me in front.
01:01:39
Speaker 1: We'll do some things, you know, like some Q and A and get to have dinner with all of you and hang out together. So if you would like to know more about this, uh, and we're gonna go to Greece. We're gonna go to Croatia, Montenegro, Turkey, Italy.
01:01:56
Speaker 2: What's what you're doing? Yeah, man, will be I have to do this.
01:02:01
Speaker 1: I have to do this for the show coming up next fall. We're gonna celebrate my sixty second birthday together, so to be the twenty sixth of September to October third, and we'll be sharing more about this in the days ahead, But if you'd like to reserve your spot with sharing Me for a week on.
01:02:21
Speaker 2: This beautiful cruise ship, the Allura with.
01:02:24
Speaker 1: Oceana Cruise Lines, all you have to do is send an email to Rick Burgess Show at Syndicatedsolutions dot com. Rick Burgess Show at Syndicatedsolutions dot com. Also, if you go to our website, Rick Burgesshow dot com, look on the homepage, see that just click that box that says get info on cruising with Rick and Sherry Burgess aboard the all new Oceania Allura in late September and get all the information. Man, I hope you'll you can see the cruise mate plan be with us. It is going to be a blast. So Cherry and I are incredibly excited about that. So so check that opportunity. That's something else, something else will be doing coming up next year. And we got another announcement we'll make about next year too. We're going to hold off on that a little while till we get everything lined up as exciting.
01:03:20
Speaker 2: Wearing white and ty.
01:03:22
Speaker 1: Well, a lot of people have said a lot of people have said, Rick, do you remember the last time you ensure it took a cruise.
01:03:29
Speaker 2: We've learned from that.
01:03:30
Speaker 4: This cruise seems romantic.
01:03:32
Speaker 2: It is very romantic.
01:03:33
Speaker 6: So no, you mentioned some places the time difference. Oh so you know when you're gonna be with.
01:03:41
Speaker 3: It, right?
01:03:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
01:03:43
Speaker 1: The Syndicated Solution is working all that out. So I'll be taking the comrades with me and I'll be coming to.
01:03:49
Speaker 5: You from that.
01:03:49
Speaker 2: That amazing.
01:03:50
Speaker 1: So what it'll be Yeah, yeah, we're and I won't be able to do it every single day, but that we'll do some checking. Is the reason why is they claim I can do it even why the ship is in cruise mode. But Bob Carrey with Syndicate Solution says, don't count on that because they do a travel show. He goes when the when the ship's moving in the satellites move, it's uh he said, you need you need to only do it why it's it's it's not so you're going to leave us in control.
01:04:17
Speaker 2: I'm afraid I'll have to.
01:04:19
Speaker 3: Uh.
01:04:19
Speaker 2: I looked.
01:04:20
Speaker 1: I looked at this ship, and they looked at y'all and they thought that, you know, it's kind of one of those things where they think the odds of Rick behaving greatly decrease if we bring the other three.
01:04:31
Speaker 2: I did it.
01:04:32
Speaker 3: I did it.
01:04:32
Speaker 6: I just I mean, so you're not concerned about us being back at Master yeah, right, controls on our own.
01:04:39
Speaker 1: No, I think it'll be fun for the audience. I think you guys will have a blast, and then we'll do a little check ins and for those of you that we'll be able to go on the cruise with us. And and this is this is luxury cruising. I mean, we're this is not one of those things where you go and you know you're with thousands of people. They keep the numbers down and everything is first class.
01:05:00
Speaker 2: Not bragging, that's just what it is.
01:05:03
Speaker 10: No.
01:05:03
Speaker 1: Look, I really honestly would not have been interested. You know, I didn't want just any company. And this bunch is good. It's where we want to be. It's where we want to take our people. So so so that'll be a lot of fun. And one thing I do want to consider then we're going to come back and talk about something that that I mean speedy openly admitted and Greg joined in and uh and it may be controversial, but one thing I want to mention before we go to break about show showy show to show. Hey, Otani and y'all talked about it in the break. Are we open to the idea that he's not human? He doesn't play was just saying that he's not from me, he's not from around here.
01:05:44
Speaker 2: We don't do we really know where he came from or did they build possibly?
01:05:52
Speaker 1: Uh, is it possible that he's innailing of some sort un Google say, nice.
01:05:58
Speaker 2: Respect super hero has some to superpower.
01:06:01
Speaker 4: That Google says, no, So hel Tani is not an alien.
01:06:05
Speaker 2: Okay, that means he is. That's exactly what That's exactly what that means.
01:06:10
Speaker 4: So there you go.
01:06:12
Speaker 2: Nobody's ever had those kind of tools. I mean, I'm sorry, it's unreal.
01:06:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm open to the fact that I don't know if he's alien, but I guess it's similar. He has some sort of access to superpower. He was struck by lightning or something radiation something by Spider yea spider sort of venomous snake.
01:06:36
Speaker 6: A good test for if the catcher puts some kryptonite like in its back pocket.
01:06:40
Speaker 2: So when he comes up to bad, if.
01:06:42
Speaker 7: He starts to look weak, Yeah, like I know what his gamb I know what his weakness is gambling.
01:06:48
Speaker 4: That's his Kryptoni.
01:06:49
Speaker 2: That's terrible.
01:06:51
Speaker 3: That was his.
01:06:54
Speaker 2: So we'll be back hanging there.
01:07:03
Speaker 1: I just heard Greg and Speedy both speak unkindly about chicken and waffles.
01:07:10
Speaker 6: Yeah, today's National Chicken and Waffles Day, and that's what That's what I saw. I saw that and we were day. So am I a bad guy for saying I don't really care for it?
01:07:24
Speaker 2: I'm the same way. I don't hate them.
01:07:25
Speaker 1: No, I'm a combination of a chicken and waffle. Just something about that kind of.
01:07:33
Speaker 3: Chicken.
01:07:36
Speaker 2: I'm starving. I'm eating chicken and water. Okay, it's not one of those that I can't eat that not that. No, I'm just not going to order it. It's a big deal. Yeah, it's I like it.
01:07:46
Speaker 4: It's good.
01:07:46
Speaker 7: But if you really ask me, like I kind of almost prefer to have I'll have chicken and I'll have waffles versus chicken and waffles.
01:07:53
Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, Like.
01:07:55
Speaker 2: Do you like chicken and waffles or do you just like syrup?
01:07:58
Speaker 1: Right?
01:07:59
Speaker 2: Right? It's pretty good there, It's not.
01:08:01
Speaker 7: It's not as good as it's like a weird vacation food to me, Like I wouldn't eat it in my normal life, but like I'm in Nashville.
01:08:09
Speaker 2: It it's glad, it's night. Still, she's still then she had restaurants. I just hope she's not hearing this. So you chicken and waffles, I don't. It's it's not great. I mean, and I and I feel I just don't desire terrible saying it.
01:08:27
Speaker 3: I don't go.
01:08:28
Speaker 2: I don't go. Yeah, nothing like that. And I but I just don't desire them.
01:08:33
Speaker 1: I see my kids will go to it in a second, but I never joined them. And every time I've tried chicken and waffles, I was underwhelmed.
01:08:43
Speaker 2: Yes, I'm so sorry to say that.
01:08:46
Speaker 1: Close as you can get you know what, you know, that's good.
01:08:52
Speaker 2: That's close as you can get me to.
01:08:53
Speaker 7: That's not even remotely close. It's totally two different, totally different weird.
01:08:57
Speaker 2: I burned out on swimmer grits.
01:09:00
Speaker 6: Well, let's don't talk bad about burned out on them.
01:09:03
Speaker 2: You want shrimper grits now, I'm good. I think I've had all the shrimper grits my life. I've had some good ones. Yeah, I've had some great ones. I don't really want anymore. I wanted to bad, Rick, they weren't bad. I'm just if eating all I want.
01:09:16
Speaker 4: Yeah, I need you to be spicy, otherwise I'm bored with it. I'll give you that.
01:09:20
Speaker 2: When people say something, you go, oh, that sounds good. When you say chicken and waffles, I don't go who no, no. In fact, I'm like, I'll look past it in order something else. I'm like, is that good? I know? Like here, it's not bad. I want it to be that.
01:09:36
Speaker 1: I have no interest because enough with the chicken fingers. Okay, I love a good chicken and to me, we know that that. But I don't want but I want, I don't want sirup on them. So I don't understand and I don't ever like you said Adler, I don't know what to do with the waffle when it's got chicken laying on it and you and you never you never quite get the chicken and waffle combination.
01:10:00
Speaker 2: Perfect.
01:10:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's you should be getting a piece of waffle with a piece of chicken every time, but you don't.
01:10:06
Speaker 2: And it's too much work, work chicken and then eat the water works. They just have them. And have you notice it?
01:10:11
Speaker 6: The waffles it's like an inch and a half thick with with the it's like, wow, that's thick.
01:10:16
Speaker 2: That takes a lot of syruce, but not to be dry.
01:10:19
Speaker 4: Right, And I'm we're talking about I'd.
01:10:23
Speaker 1: Rather have a real piece of chicken too. I don't want chicken fingers on top of the waffle.
01:10:27
Speaker 7: Well, I'm noticing Gladys Knights chicken waffles. Hers have like bones and wings.
01:10:33
Speaker 3: What I want.
01:10:34
Speaker 7: If I'm having to pick it up and bite it off the bone, I might as well.
01:10:37
Speaker 2: Just eat chicken.
01:10:38
Speaker 1: Now we got rod for chicken and waffles. It sounds fabulous, it looks great in pictures.
01:10:45
Speaker 6: It never delivers underwhelming sticky fingers because you got syrup.
01:10:50
Speaker 4: If I'm having to do that, might as well eatn separate. Yes, no bones, please, let's face it.
01:10:55
Speaker 2: Let's face it.
01:10:57
Speaker 1: It's the time that Jerry Seinfeld he did the great bit about going to some great restaurant, and he said, and all this you're putting into it, all the money you're spending. At the end of the day, the pop darts you had for breakfast was better. Yeah, And and so I find myself, I find myself going, I'm sorry I've been let down from from from some of you fancy waffle people.
01:11:21
Speaker 2: Waffle House has never let me down.
01:11:23
Speaker 1: Every time I go get the All Star. That waffle works with everything else I'm doing. And I know that that's not some salt after deal, but I got to tell you, as far as a waffle with other things delivering, it's a lot of plates.
01:11:40
Speaker 2: Yeah it is.
01:11:41
Speaker 4: It is, but that's I'm fine with that. And it's not an All.
01:11:43
Speaker 1: Star and it's not a very big table, and no one's taking the time to wipe it off.
01:11:48
Speaker 2: It's fine. They wipe it it off, wipe that table off.
01:11:53
Speaker 6: I have no time with my elbows a little sticky, yeah, and you know that's and I know they shouldn't be on the table.
01:11:59
Speaker 2: So that's on me.
01:12:00
Speaker 1: And I've moved the water down sweet Tea as far to the right as I can. I guess you're not going to take it the people that were here before, Yes, and I need some silverware if you don't, if you don't mind.
01:12:11
Speaker 6: And I know there's restaurants that that you're known for your chicken and waffles, and I'm not gonna hate on you because you are.
01:12:16
Speaker 4: I've been there and it's good.
01:12:17
Speaker 2: People that go there say it's delicious. I just don't. It's just not me. They don't. I don't enjoy it.
01:12:23
Speaker 1: I will say what this texture is saying, and it comes right out of Gregg's vernacular. I think in the food world, chicken and waffles are trying to be sharp.
01:12:31
Speaker 2: They are. It's like you have to like it. Yeah, look at me, I'm chiggingfle You didn't expect that.
01:12:38
Speaker 4: Chickenfles two worlds together.
01:12:41
Speaker 2: The first person to put them together and said, I think we got something. Give me a piece of chicken. I'm putting this waffle. I guarantee it was something. It was somebody hungover, yes, or it was a there there up really late.
01:12:54
Speaker 1: By the way, I've got a call into big time Rush trying to get a budget together for you to lick a toad.
01:13:00
Speaker 5: Good.
01:13:00
Speaker 2: No, I'm not let on.
01:13:02
Speaker 4: Hey, this is for you. Next time you're a waffle house, get your waffle well done.
01:13:07
Speaker 1: Oh yes, ask for it. Well sometimes I forget to do that. Yeah, I didn't do that for a while. Thing with the hash Browns. Yes, yes, I thought it wasn't necessary. Thought you wrote exaggerating and I didn't intend to it. And they brought me a waffle one time, and I mean it was it was this. It was this shot from dope.
01:13:25
Speaker 2: It was just it was okay, y'all.
01:13:28
Speaker 5: Y'all rush a little bit.
01:13:29
Speaker 2: That's almost white, dude, that's almost completely white.
01:13:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, promise me that ain't done at all.
01:13:35
Speaker 2: Promise me, y'all won't get mad at me. I can't no promise, No, I can't make that commitment. Go ahead.
01:13:43
Speaker 6: I'll go Grits over hash brown one the time, one hundred waffle House.
01:13:47
Speaker 2: Yes, have you lost?
01:13:50
Speaker 10: I just like.
01:13:53
Speaker 2: Brown that's what ye both both?
01:13:56
Speaker 3: I can't.
01:13:59
Speaker 2: That's extra sorry.
01:14:03
Speaker 1: It goes on moods, what mood I'm in on. Whether I go grits or Hash Browns depends on what mood I'm in. I gotta if I've got to make a decision, I can't run. But I don't like hash Browns just anywhere. But I love them at waffle House and I also love them at a place called Metro Grille here in town.
01:14:19
Speaker 2: Incredible hash Browns. Do you add anything to it?
01:14:22
Speaker 10: Like?
01:14:23
Speaker 4: Yeah?
01:14:23
Speaker 2: Jeeze?
01:14:24
Speaker 1: Okay, I keep it simple. I do want them crispy. I want them crispy, but not not Every hash brown is great. And do not give me claim you've got hash Browns and you bring me out that that's that toaster.
01:14:39
Speaker 5: What is this?
01:14:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, this is not a hash brown. I gotta there's there's a breakfast place in Birmingham that I really like.
01:14:47
Speaker 2: But them calling that a.
01:14:48
Speaker 1: Hash brown, that's not a hash brown. Sure, that's a hash brow.
01:14:52
Speaker 6: Now that is a hash See, I'll take grits over that.
01:14:56
Speaker 4: That's you here.
01:14:59
Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that is unfortunate.
01:15:02
Speaker 7: But you got a chop up a running egg on top of that and put halopenos and salt and peppers, some hot sauses.
01:15:08
Speaker 2: Good, no, thank you. And I'm gonna tell you this. I had a run. Well, here it goes. I'm making all mad all over.
01:15:15
Speaker 6: I had a run where when I went to waffle house, I got their grilled chicken.
01:15:19
Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
01:15:20
Speaker 1: Got grilled chicken somewhere they do somewhere else.
01:15:25
Speaker 2: And this is a brody.
01:15:27
Speaker 3: I know.
01:15:27
Speaker 1: I knew you were gonna say. He told me, Hey, you'll be surprised. We were in Mississippi eating at the waffle house. He ordered grilled chicken and it looked good. No, he got to got the grilled chicken biscuit.
01:15:37
Speaker 2: What he got good, he gets. Don't try to defend him. It's okay if he got grilled chicken. But he got it on the biscuit. That makes it bad. But the chicken itself, I was pressed. I did. I had a run where I got the grilled chicken. You can get grilled chicken so many places. It's good there. Now some people will.
01:15:54
Speaker 4: Draw, Hey, it's what is it house? What is it house?
01:15:56
Speaker 2: It's not called grilled chicken waffle?
01:15:59
Speaker 4: It's not called grilled chicken house, buddy.
01:16:02
Speaker 2: And if they were gonna put a they were going to slice and put another name.
01:16:05
Speaker 1: It would be waffle, hash brown house, not grips I'm sorry.
01:16:12
Speaker 4: Or hangover house. You know that's what they would call it.
01:16:15
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, greasy, somewhat dirty house, right, delicious house right.
01:16:20
Speaker 6: And I'm gonna say something else. Well, I've never been a big steaking eggs guy either.
01:16:26
Speaker 10: You.
01:16:29
Speaker 2: I mean, I just I want one of the other. If you didn't have a wife and kids, I would think what else is gonna say today? We'll be right by.
01:16:36
Speaker 5: This is the Rick Burger's Show.
01:16:44
Speaker 2: You'll see it right there on top of the page.
01:16:46
Speaker 1: So Adler, Uh, you were telling us that over the weekend, and you're saying this was the first attempt to take both of the kids fishing.
01:16:57
Speaker 4: Yes, yes, indeed, so I guess it was Friday. The kids. I made the mistake of being a fun.
01:17:07
Speaker 7: Dad involved, you know, big mistake. And so the kids are always asking I like to pick up my kids from school, and the kids are asking, what what are we going to do today, Daddy? Because we we generally do something on the way home, whether it's just stopping by a playground really quick, or even going to the grocery store or whatever.
01:17:35
Speaker 4: Just something.
01:17:36
Speaker 7: This is what you gresent, yes, and doing stuff with them that's fun for them with you. And uh so, so Friday, I was like, you know what, I'm out of deer corn. Let's go get some feed because guys, this this deer corn. Whatever you pay for the bag is so worth it because the kids will take tiny little cups and I'll put the bag of deer corn right next to the deer feeder out in the backyard, way back in the woods there, and they'll take tiny little cups and they'll feel fill that deer feeder or just throw it in the yard whatever, I don't care, and it will they'll it'll take an hour and it will.
01:18:13
Speaker 4: They will they love it. They will be in for an hour I'm like, this is cheaper than a babysitter. And I'm getting some corn in the yard. This is great.
01:18:20
Speaker 1: And they're outside there out I'm a landowner now, yeah, property.
01:18:26
Speaker 7: They're pretending it's all kinds of stuff. You know, Daddy, do you want to smoothie? And like Ruby will come up to me with.
01:18:31
Speaker 4: A cup that has like you have corn smooth corn smoothie. Yeah, that's what they call it.
01:18:36
Speaker 7: So what like they'll start a restaurant or whatever. They're taking orders and it's great. They're outside, they're they're pretending, they're using their hands.
01:18:44
Speaker 4: They're not being mush brains on the couch.
01:18:46
Speaker 2: With their dad. Yeah.
01:18:48
Speaker 7: Did you guys have that term mush brain in your house? Okay my mom had a lot worse. Yeah okay, yeah, yes, right right. Well, if you're sitting and watch TV too much and you're just open mouthed watching TV, you're being a.
01:19:04
Speaker 4: Mush brain in my house. So I grew up with that. So that, well, I'll try to get the kids out as much as they can. So Friday, I'm like, all right, let's get some deer corn.
01:19:13
Speaker 7: So we go to a hunting store here in town in fact, and uh, in fact, shout.
01:19:19
Speaker 4: Out to the grip Yeah. Man Feed company is that.
01:19:24
Speaker 2: Man partnering with the show now?
01:19:27
Speaker 1: And I've been using her stuff for a long time, and let me tell you that their stuff is the best.
01:19:32
Speaker 2: Yep and it is.
01:19:33
Speaker 7: Uh it's thirty percent combined fat and.
01:19:36
Speaker 4: Protein, which is great.
01:19:38
Speaker 2: A little bit of it.
01:19:39
Speaker 4: Yes, I got me a pop and it's good. I enjoyed it.
01:19:42
Speaker 2: Grip Feed smoothie.
01:19:43
Speaker 4: And so I in.
01:19:44
Speaker 7: Fact, I'm checking out with the kids and you're just trying to get out of there, and the guy was like, what are you getting. I'm like the grip stuff, the grip stuff. He's like, what are you talking about? I'm like the grip stuff. And then so we did get that work.
01:19:56
Speaker 4: Out, yes, because I'm trying to short. Oh yeah.
01:20:00
Speaker 7: So the hor reason I told you all that is because I had my kids with me and they see a fishing rod and they're like, we want a fishing rod.
01:20:08
Speaker 4: And I'm like, all right, and I found a I think it's Zebca. It's how you said.
01:20:14
Speaker 2: Zepo Zepco around one hundred years.
01:20:19
Speaker 4: Okay, well I got the two O two zeb CAA.
01:20:26
Speaker 2: You gotta go with the thirty three so it was.
01:20:28
Speaker 4: The whole kid was twenty four bucks. I'm like, this is great.
01:20:31
Speaker 7: It's got a stringer. I don't need a stringer if you're not gonna catch any but.
01:20:35
Speaker 4: You no get it.
01:20:37
Speaker 7: And then Friday that was so that was Friday Sunday. After church, I take the kids out to my parents. Uh, my parents own and operate the barnet shady Lands, a little shout out there. But there's a little pond, a little fountain out there. And I got the kids out and went fishing. Guys, there's your picture, little.
01:20:54
Speaker 2: Red wiggler on there. Beautiful day.
01:20:58
Speaker 4: I forgot about bait. Oh, I thought it was in the kit bait.
01:21:06
Speaker 2: I get out there.
01:21:06
Speaker 7: I don't have anything, but I did have a block of cheese in the fridge in the van, So I just put cheese on the hook.
01:21:13
Speaker 4: Why are you doing? Guess what we call it? A leaf? Ye with three casts each.
01:21:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, they were done. But then but then you know what you do then the next time you go for five?
01:21:28
Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. And I wanted to get some bait.
01:21:31
Speaker 7: Yeah, and it was an actual bait of some kind or maybe a lure I think is what they call it.
01:21:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, in this case, if you want to just get them some stuff to catch, like Greg said, put some red wigglers on the air.
01:21:44
Speaker 2: Let the brim, knock it, knock it out.
01:21:46
Speaker 7: Well, maybe next time we'll catch something. But that's why I got to use the classic ron. That's why they call it fishing.
01:21:52
Speaker 5: Do that.
01:21:53
Speaker 2: No, you didn't do that, and it was not impressed. They didn't care do that. I remember a kid just hating that.
01:22:00
Speaker 7: Yes, so, but you know it's it's good for life lessons and getting perseverance something I don't know.
01:22:06
Speaker 6: So you got all that and didn't have bait, and I forgot in the package.
01:22:10
Speaker 4: Thought it was in the kid.
01:22:12
Speaker 1: You thought you if you look some some you didn't. I know, you didn't think live bait. You thought there were some lures and there Yeah.
01:22:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, there wasn't.
01:22:19
Speaker 2: Though.
01:22:22
Speaker 4: They'll wave that hook around, Yes they will. Hey, don't turn your back because they'll put the hook in your back.
01:22:27
Speaker 1: If you're bothered with getting hooked, don't have children and take them fishing.
01:22:31
Speaker 4: As the two year old terrible at casting. I'm it's embarrassing.
01:22:35
Speaker 5: Frankly, it's too is the Rick Burgess Show.
01:22:45
Speaker 1: So President Trump, you know this, No King's Day is one of the silliest. Just even a liberal like Bill Maher pointed out, there are no kings by the very fact that you can have no King's Day. Trump said, I'm not a king, actually worked my butt off unlike kings. And you know, yeah, it's just and I think those of you that are really upset about the government being shut down, I believe the left had to get past Saturday so they could do all their drama.
01:23:19
Speaker 2: But the government shut down. Here comes Trump.
01:23:22
Speaker 1: He's just going to tell Chuck Schumer, if you're going to play this game with me, we're gonna have to start making some cuts. And he's going to cut a big pet project of Chuck Schumer's.
01:23:32
Speaker 2: So here we go.
01:23:33
Speaker 8: Because we're cutting Democrat programs that we didn't want, because I mean, they made one mistake, they didn't realize that that gives me the right to cut programs that Republicans never wanted, you know, giveaways, welfare programs, et cetera. And we're doing that, and we're cutting them permanently. We're cutting a twenty billion dollar project that Schumer fought for fifteen years to get, and I'm cutting the project. The project is going to be dead it just's pretty much instead right now.
01:24:00
Speaker 4: Well, how significant will the layoff speak?
01:24:02
Speaker 10: Because now you've got a federal judge trying to stop you there as well, saying that any layoffs during a temporary shutdown is illegal.
01:24:09
Speaker 8: These judges, I'm telling you, it's so terrible.
01:24:13
Speaker 3: Okay.
01:24:14
Speaker 1: So I don't know if he'll pull it off because you hear the opposition, but the left doesn't realize the sitting president, if the government is shut down, he can start cutting programs that and cut them permanently. And Schumer's got a twenty billion dollar one that he fought fifteen years for that Trump said, I'm about to cut it. And so I think you'll see an end of this. But they had to do their little no Kings thing first. Here's when I saw this a lot over the weekend, the No Kings protest in a nutshell. It seems like everybody that showed up for these No Kings, with very few exceptions, are just a bunch of old white retired people. Are you know, are people getting paid? Which we've seen that too. Uh, the King no Kings, we don't have any lot.
01:25:11
Speaker 4: Of old white people. A lot of a lot of old white people.
01:25:14
Speaker 2: And I don't know about y'all's weekend. Yeah, yeah, mine was pretty busy.
01:25:18
Speaker 6: I didn't even think about this, and I said, think about this, think and most everybody just went on with their day.
01:25:26
Speaker 1: No one cares. I mean, because we don't have kings. You're pushing a point that's not even happening. And to watch people that vote for the party that wants the largest central government while calling the party that wants smaller central central government the king.
01:25:43
Speaker 2: This is classic, uh propaganda move has been used forever. And there were some projecting that's what it's called. Thank you, Greg.
01:25:51
Speaker 7: There were some big crowds out in places, but in Boston. MSNBC shows this footage here, Rick, if you want.
01:25:59
Speaker 4: To play hear it as well.
01:26:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead.
01:26:02
Speaker 7: This is from MSNBC showing footage from Boston. Unfortunately, this is from twenty seventeen.
01:26:08
Speaker 2: Oh wow, look at this.
01:26:10
Speaker 1: Millions of people across the country marching as we speak against the policies of President Trump.
01:26:15
Speaker 4: This is Boston.
01:26:16
Speaker 2: Look at that.
01:26:17
Speaker 6: We'll continue to follow these rallies throughout the day here on MSNBC.
01:26:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, purposely said that was Boston. Wow, current day.
01:26:27
Speaker 4: That was from twenty seventeen.
01:26:28
Speaker 3: Wow. Wow.
01:26:30
Speaker 1: Wow, Wow, wow, Wow, speedy, you get ready for secondhand embarrassment. You've had a tough week last week. It does not get any better. Nancy Pelosi is gonna try to break a crown. No, no, no, The only crown she can break is one on her tooth.
01:26:45
Speaker 2: But look at her, what are we doing?
01:26:49
Speaker 7: She's gonna try to break it, but she can't, and so there's gonna be several cuts in the video because she can't break the crowns up that crown.
01:26:58
Speaker 2: Okay, that did a lot.
01:27:05
Speaker 4: Oh she had to edit it out.
01:27:11
Speaker 2: Oh, they cut away and then cut back that day. I don't know what she's dressed in.
01:27:22
Speaker 4: I did it, Yeah, I did it.
01:27:24
Speaker 7: She's been I saw a great video talking about how Trump has been in office for four and a half years.
01:27:30
Speaker 4: Pelosi's been in office for forty.
01:27:33
Speaker 2: Gotcha, no king, it's not a king, No King.
01:27:37
Speaker 7: Trump's net worth has gone down in his time during office. Pelosi's has gone up thousands of folds. She's worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
01:27:45
Speaker 2: Now, yeah, what about when when no kings?
01:27:48
Speaker 1: When when the Speaker Johnson made the point that that he was nine years old when Chuck Schumer went in and who's the king, Speaker of the House now, Randy Garten, Is that right? Yes, we have a she's a Marxist, has no children. Former teacher Teachers Union president. Her salary. By the way, this is not a typo. Thanks for telling me that.
01:28:13
Speaker 2: Guys.
01:28:14
Speaker 1: Here's the salary of a Marxist when she was in charge of the teachers union five hundred and sixty thousand dollars a year. Now listen to her no king speech with all that in mind.
01:28:28
Speaker 12: Republicans, samacrats, independence, what brown Wait, This sixty eight year.
01:28:37
Speaker 5: Old Jewish baby boomer was the small.
01:28:41
Speaker 12: Business owners Christian gen Ziers.
01:28:45
Speaker 9: This is as I Jen said, we.
01:28:48
Speaker 5: Are the majority of America.
01:28:52
Speaker 1: What do we want?
01:28:53
Speaker 10: What do we want?
01:28:55
Speaker 4: We want the promise of America for everyone. You want a voice in her future.
01:29:02
Speaker 12: We are standing up in peaceful, patriotic protests, just like our founders. Schooled out, no thrills, no clowns.
01:29:14
Speaker 2: No kids. She was a king during COVID when she shut the schools down. Yeah, yeah, the kids had a school making five hundred and sixty thousand a year, keeping.
01:29:25
Speaker 7: Them closed, masking people up, masking kids, forcing vaccines.
01:29:29
Speaker 4: Very king like behavior.
01:29:31
Speaker 6: And that's one of the best videos when Scott Jennings calls her out on sing end and she's sitting there and what you did to the kids and closing the schools it was a.
01:29:40
Speaker 4: Lie, yeah, and then and then she lied about it exactly, ma'am. We don't forget we all we were all there.
01:29:46
Speaker 2: Yeah.
01:29:47
Speaker 1: So these communists putting themselves in positions like this, and as the two men here just clearly you told you the way they governed. They governed like communists, and they governed like they were the ruling class. Now a communist is going to come out.
01:30:06
Speaker 2: Who when they when.
01:30:07
Speaker 1: She had her shot, as they just told you, shut schools down, told everybody what to do. Let the government run everything. Uh, they don't mind that as long as they're part of the government, because they'll do great. But but here she is now saying that they're therefore no kings, no crowns, no thrones. I don't know how to break this to her. A giant central government that tells you what you can and can't do is the same thing, yes, and that's what and that's what you're for.
01:30:35
Speaker 7: Well, who sees the power in every way that they possibly could During COVID. It was all the Democrats, y'all. I'm sorry, but that's just the truth of it.
01:30:44
Speaker 1: Well, because remember the communist socialists, whatever you want to call them, they believe that the government is smarter than you, that the government knows best, and they conveniently want themselves to be the government, so they then then then can tell you and me what to do, and also do quite well financially, while the rest of us live in perpetual mediocrity and we get to have whatever they allow us to have.
01:31:10
Speaker 2: They do great.
01:31:11
Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's the rest of us that will struggle. And the more they keep dooping you into believing into their version of what a king is, the more you end up under tyranny.
01:31:29

00:20:45
Speaker 2: Well, I guess you can see what I got on right here, got my hat on? What do you think about that? Right there?

00:39:27
Speaker 2: Dicky Admire.

00:47:42
Speaker 6: Dicky two thirty Central Kick on ABC. Y'all, are you headed to South Carolina yet? Or today a rest day before you get.
00:47:49
Speaker 2: On the road.
00:47:50
Speaker 3: Today your rest day. What we do is see you. We kind of get back on our feet today. That admires we. You know, we kind of stretch a little bit. But we'll head out tomorrow and we'll start making our wea up could Columbia.
00:48:03

01:31:29
