Everyday Sent | Following Jesus Is The First Step, Not The Last

Welcome back to Everyday Sent! Host Dr. Dave Kruse sits down with Sarah Joy Price (Children’s Director) and Stevie Franks (Student Minister) from First Baptist Starkville to unpack what it truly means to follow Jesus.

So many of us grew up hearing, “Just believe in Jesus and you’re good.” But is that all there is? In this episode, we explore why following Jesus is the first step in our faith journey—not the last. Together, we dive into:
 • Why following Jesus is more than head knowledge—it’s a real relationship.
 • The process of sanctification (becoming more like Christ).
 • The role of intentionality and spiritual disciplines in daily life.
 • How community helps us grow and stay rooted in faith.
 • Encouragement for parents raising children to follow Jesus.

👉 Whether you’re a child, teen, parent, or adult, this conversation will help you see that faith isn’t a one-time decision but a lifelong journey with Christ.
